I’ve worked with Walter on several jobs. His prices and options are the best in Utah. The guy is very busy and does a lot of jobs. If your someone who is impatient and needs work done immediately don’t bug Walter go else where. He’s too busy. But if you want top pick, amazing pricing, good install, and can wait. (Not months... sometimes he’s right on time, sometimes he’s been way early. All depends on his work load.) He’s your guy!
You will never find a better selection or quality of stone!! They really have the most beautiful pieces. We are so happy with our vanity and Walter made the whole process so easy!!
Look no further - Utah Valley Granite is what youve been searching for.Our backstory: My spouse and I shopped all over Utah and Salt Lake county for the perfect countertop for our 14 foot island. The trendy thing in Utah seems to be quartz countertops. After doing some research we learned that quartz is actually a form of engineered stone made from ground-up particles of stone and then bound together with space-age plastic resins. Yikes! Every shop we entered that sells quartz smelled like plastic. I dont want that in my home. But then we found Utah Valley Granite...Walter took care of us from the beginning. Just do yourself a favor and go to their yard and walk around and see their selection. They sell the best and most beautiful stone you are going to find anywhere, and believe me - Ive looked. We chose a gorgeous white Quartzite which is a pure natural stone (unlike quartz).Walter takes incredible pride in doing bookmatched countertops when you have a big project and the results are phenomenal. The quality of their stone and the price does not compare with anywhere Ive been.If you want a plastic composite countertop in your house, sure, get quartz and wonder what space age plastic is getting into your atmosphere. But if you want to wake up every morning and see the sun shining on that natural stone...if you like to start off your day on the right foot every day with high class and quality staring you in the face, then youll want Utah Valley Granite.
So..honestly I had to edit this review. The day of, they did a phenomenal job. Walter was really great most of the time. We put the pressure on them to finish it quick and they did! Super fast, flawless granite, unbeatable price and Antonio who installed did a phenomenal job. Then banks were closed for holiday and I couldn’t get him the cash (even tho I had a check) he demanded when he demanded it. He the berated me on the phone, dropping the “F” word at me and tell me to “Go F myself”. This is all less than 24 hours after his job was done and he wasn’t understanding at all. It’s sad how everything went down cause they did a great job. They would do even better if Walter wasn’t the owner or if he knew how to act like a respectful person. Would I still use them? I think so. Just be cautious and have cash.
STAY AWAY! Walter is unethical, dishonest, and his workmanship is terrible. I was forced to sue him due to his poor workmanship, repeated mistakes, and refusal to correct them.My wife and I spent weeks trying to find the right piece of granite for our countertops and fireplace hearth. After looking through hundreds of pieces at multiple places, we finally found the color and pattern we were looking for at Utah Valley Granite.Walter at Utah Valley Granite had two pieces that were very heavily veined and were just what we had been looking for. The only concern I had was the veining lining up at the seam, because our countertop is wider than a slab of granite is long.We had the cabinet and fireplace plans with us and showed them to Walter. Walter used a white grease pencil to show us (as he extolled his stone cutting skills) exactly how he would cut the slab to make certain the veining lined up. After considerable conversation and a price quote for the countertops and the hearth, we gave Walter a down payment.Installation day came, but when the installers left, my wife noticed that Walter had cut the sink five inches off-center. When Walter was informed of the mistake, he immediately blamed the project manager, but he said he would cut a new piece to correct the problem. He also said he would cut the hearth for nothing. This statement confused me; by this time, I had already paid Walter in full, including for the hearth. After several missed appointments for the repair (and for which I missed work), the installers finally installed the newly cut piece for the countertop and the fireplace hearth. The veins of the new piece run 90 degrees to the rest of the countertop (see photo below) The hearth was also cut ¾ of an inch short. Apparently, Walter’s stone cutting skills aren’t what he lead us to believe. As the installers were leaving, they asked my wife for $800.00 for the hearth. She politely declined. When I confronted Walter about this latest mistake, he became very abusive, blamed the project manager again, called me names, and physically threatened the project manager. He refused to talk any further with me.My only recourse was to sue Walter/Utah Valley Granite. Of course, as his installers had repeatedly failed to make pre-arranged installation dates, Walter failed to show up to court, twice. Now I’m left to hire a collection agency or attorney.I have many more photos, screenshots of abusive text messages, and court records. If Walter disputes any of my assertions, I will post them as well.
Called to get info on if granite could be used. The extremely rude guy went on and on on how expensive labor. I told him I already knew since I had my own business and I was aware on how everything has gotten expensive with COVID. He said very rudely to me, dont call me and ask me questions if you arent going to listen and hung up. EXTREMELY RUDE to say the least. Do yourselves a favor and call anyone else. In this day and age us customers have choices and do not need to be treated like that. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!
Horrible communication! We worked with Nick. I he said he was the owner and he would take care of us. We were promised 2 days after template. He lost the quartz we were quoted a price on so we chose a different one. We asked them to call us and tell us if the price was different before they cut it. Then we got a call 1 week after template telling us that it was ready to install. He charged us more than what he quoted us because it was nicer than the one he promised us then sold out from under us. He screamed at my wife and accused her of dishonesty because we wanted to know why he was charging us more. He promised that we would not pay for the sink, then charged us for the sink. When I asked for an explanation of his invoice, he said he was disgusted by us and would not waste one more word on us. I would never recommend working with Nick. His laborers were great, but Nick was dishonest and extremely unprofessional.
Dishononest conman, go elsewhere just look in his shop and you see the type of person he is.
Walt was awful to work with. He promises the world and then lies and threatens to sue you. Don’t pay him until your work is done correctly. We have white granite and it was installed with yellow caulk. He also used two different types of granite. They literally DO NOT MATCH! It looks horrible! Walt admitted that it needed to be fixed and would come to fix it. We kept asking when he could come repair it and he just kept saying he was really busy. Finally, he threatened to sue us if we didn’t leave him alone and said we were slandering his name. We tried small claims court but since we didn’t have an official contract there wasn’t much we could do. The cherry on top was when we found out he didn’t have a business license. Avoid him! The prices seem good but it’s not worth it!
This company installed the granite for our new house, and we are all so pleased. The house has two kitchens, one for me and one for my daughter-in-law, and we both took a long time choosing our granite Walter and his guys were friendly and helpful, gave us all the samples we wanted, all the time we wanted, and good advice. Walter really wants his customers to be happy with their choice. He gave us a great price on gorgeous granite, and we were so happy with the installation. It was fast and clean, and the installers were very friendly. We both, along with our husbands, love the way our kitchens turned out.
We absolutely loved working with Utah Valley Granite! We felt taken care of, and it was the best price around! So happy with how our bathroom granite turned out. We will only come back here for granite in the future, nobody cares more about their customers than they do!
Utah Valley Granite took that stress of our remodel and threw it out the window. Walter was great to work with and has beautiful materials to choose from. His team was very professional and they took care of us in a timely manner. I would highly recommend them for your next project.
Called in to see hours and get some options, the guy on the phone was incredibly rude. From the other reviews I wish I would have read them before I called. I wouldn’t use this company if their stuff was free.
Walter and his guys are great; hard working. I’ve always had granite, and was considering a man-made stone since that was the trending, but once I did my research on dolomite; it was a no brainer. For the value and amazing price, our kitchen looks amazing. Walter and his crew were very accommodating to my specifications; which I truly appreciate. They were very patient since my cabinets guys were 7 months behind schedule. Thank you Walter. Pleasure doing business with you.
I was referred to Utah Valley Granite by a friend bragging about the selection of stone. Im glad I took the time to take a look at their inventory. They have by far the best and most unique selection. I was able to grab some samples and made my selection. Walter was a pleasure to work with and gave us a great price. His installers were professional and courteous. I would highly recommend Utah Valley Granite for quality and price.
UVG was great -- we had looked at so many other places - they gave us a clip board and told us to go walk and write down the numbers we liked. With Walter - he walked with us and explained the benefits of each type of stone...We defiantly will go back ! Thanks Walter for all the help.
Walter and his guys were great, countertops came out beautiful! They were installed quickly and the men were so sweet. We had a very good experience!
Walter and his team had great granite and options to choose from. Him and his team did a great job helping us put our home back together. Pleasure doing business with Utah Valley Granite.
We love our countertops!! They have so many beautiful options! We shopped around A LOT and we will definitely use UVG in the future and recommend them to friends and family. We had a great experience.
My husband and I got so lucky to have found Walter. We wouldve never got the exquisite granite at the price Walter quoted us. We read all the reviews before putting our deposit down because I knew there was no credibility in the negative comments of others - Walter just happens to be a passionate New Yorker and a lot of these people in Utah cant handle a straight shooter.Walter delivered everything we agreed on within the time frame he told us. We have no complaints and on the contrary we couldnt be more satisfied with our new kitchen. He threw in a free top of the line sink too. Our kitchen looks amazing. Were referring our friends to Walter.
Slab is beautiful. Walker got our pieces fabricated and in quick. Works with military families and offered a great deal due to my husband’s service.
Great price on gorgeous granite! Love my new kitchen counters!
After searching for light colored granite and dolomite, my wife and I were disappointed with the poor selections we found at the granite shops we visited. Later, we learned about Utah Valley Granite (UVG) from one of their happy customers, so we drove from Logan to UVG in Pleasant Grove. My wife and I were amazed at their large selection of gorgeous light colored stone. Walter was very helpful and patient as we selected the perfect dolomite. We were so pleased with the selection and pricing that we had UVG install dolomite in the home we are building, and also in the home we are selling. My wife and daughter say the dolomite UVG installed in our homes is the most beautiful granite or dolomite theyve seen. I am thrilled with UVGs incredible pricing and fast service. Ill definitely recommend UVG to family, friends, and anyone looking for granite or dolomite.
Walter and his guys did such a fantastic job on my countertops in my new home! I am loving them and couldn’t be more pleased! They measured and installed with in a weeks time and cleaned up afterwards. This is a big deal to me because other contractors have left my house for me to clean up!Loving my granite!Laurie Rogers Castle Dale, UT
Great company to deal with. No questions asked. Walter was straight up honest with his pricing and the installation was flawless. Granite was ordered/installed in less than a week. Thanks Walter nice job, Thank you
These reviews are exactly right. I think what we have here is a double personality or schizophrenia. He may be your best friend for a few minutes, turn on you, and be your worst enemy. You might think you are saving a few bucks, but hell do what he can to take advantage of you in the end.
Please dont go here. I WISH I could post screenshots of the kind of texts this guy sent me, or the damage to my home during the sub-par installation. Walter will promise you the world, but hes unstable and manipulative and lied about the product. It was a roller coaster experience, and will give you anxiety. One second hes nice and charming, the next hes belligerent & condescending & displacing blame. He strong armed us into buying - chose and prepped our slab without us ever giving the OK and then threatened to sue if we didnt pay up. I wish wed followed our lawyers advice to stay firm and not work with him.
First of all Darcie works for him so she is giving his reviews a 5 star which Walter very much isn’t. He is a dishonest CROOK. We paid for a counter and he won’t come out and measure it despite many attempts to get him to do so. Plus the picture on the website is not what he has for a supply. He will lie and tell you what you want to hear just to get your money then screw you over. Do not do dealings with him.
Please do not waste your time here. There is beautiful stone there, but the installation and fabrication they provide is very poor. We are so sad that we chose to use this company. Walter will promise you the world but does not deliver. I only asked for 1 thing. No seam in my kitchen island. I specifically told him if there needed to be a seam, I would choose a different stone. I was so disappointed to see a seam right in the middle of my island. There are gaps between the walls and the stone, that the backsplash will not cover. When confronted, Walter claimed it was his best work, and he had to make a judgement call on the seam. That was not his call to make without consulting the clients first. His best work is sub par at best. I would take my business elsewhere.
I was quoted $500 total for a job over the phone, then drove all the way down to their location in Pleasant Grove from Millcreek to pick out my granite. When I get there I’m told the job will now cost $800. Not happy that I wasted my time and gas.
He was a very kind person and helped with what was looking for. Very knowledgeable.
Walter was great to work with. Good price and great installers fast service.
I am a general contractor and Walter has always taken great care of me. Thanks UVG!
Walter and his team are THE WORST! I have never EVER been treated so poorly by an owner of a company in my life. We were quoted one price and then given another. Then when trying to get in touch with them NO ONE answers your calls. I would suggest staying as far away as possible from UVG
Good prices, terrible installation. Dont waste your time.
It isnt often today that the owner of a company shows up to make sure your stone countertops are being installed correctly. Even more rare that he shows up for a customer service call a few months later...but thats what happened with Walter at Utah Valley Granite. He gave us an outstanding price and amazing quality. He also recommended an outstanding cabinet maker. Dave from Quality Craft was not only the best price but his customer service was unbelieveable. I called them a few monthe later when I had a little trouble with a drawer. Thay asked me to send a picture and a day later they were in my home and fixed everything to our satisfaction. Two great companies if you are building or remodeling your home.
I stumbled on UVG through Google. I went and saw his selection of countertops and was very impressed and pleased. He has been so great to work with as we have built our house. He had lots of good ideas like not making my island to long so that I would need a seam in my island. He was patient with me as I came back several times to select my countertop. He met up with me when I needed and answered any questions I had and worked through whatever was going to be best. I would recommend Walter to anyone that wants great customer service! It has been a month since I gave my previous review. Now that my countertops are in and I am enjoying such a fabulous space I want to add to my review of the beautiful work. I had my home custom built I went to many different people inquiring about countertops and cabinets. I ended up using Utah Valley Granite for my countertops and Quality Craft Woodworking for my cabinets. They both came in at the best price and both showrooms prooved to have wonderful work. These two companies often produce results together and they produced gorgeous results that I get to enjoy everyday. I had a problem with a piece of granite, UVG fixed the error. If you want beautiful work for the VERY best price then I strongly suggest both of these companys.
I would give 0 stars if I could. STAY AWAY Walter is the most dishonest person Ive ever met!!! Im out a lot if money because of his dishonesty. They also dont show up when they say and do poor quality work.
Walter will NOT uphold his end of the deal. I paid for a counter and he will not return my calls or texts nor follow through with what he says he will do. He has lied MANY times and has treated me with extreme disrespect. STAY AWAY!
Go somewhere else. Walter is a joke and has no integrity. I dont know how this company is still in business.
Thank you Antonio for fixing my chips
Great work!!! I love my countertops!!
