I love this game store. The employees are nice and have great customer service skills. The place is also extremely neat and clean. You can find most things very easily without needing to ask and they have a quite varied selections of comics. They also have a good job at keeping the store inclusive and are quick to resolve conflicts if people try to start problems during card tournaments. My only major complaint I have is that theyre close to an hour away from where I live :/ Other than that its great! I recommend people to definitely check this place out!

Took some of my comic books to sell. Left them there to have him look over them and give me a price for them. Most of my comic were not really worth anything. But did some of my own research and found out that my spawn 3d mocca exclusive is for $45 up to $1,000. He told me I will give you $20 for all comics. I would stay away.

They sold me 2 Celebrations Elite Trainer boxes for $90 each when they sell normaly for $50. They are basically mimicking what scalpers are doing. I wont be buying sealed product here anymore. Ill go to the Newpark Mall toy store they sell sealed way cheaper

These guys are theives. I pre-ordered merchandise on eBay with them and they never shipped out my stuff. I tried numerous times to contact them. They dont respond or resolve the issue. Buyers beware!

Parent recommended! My review is based on customer service and friendliness. (I dont know anything about comics.) My son saved up on his allowance and is starting to learn about Pokemon. The times weve been here, the guys who worked there explained to my son what kind of Pokemons there are (overwhelming indeed!) and which ones theyd recommend for a kid on a budget. The guys even knocked a few dollars off bc my son went over his budget. Nice mom and pop business! Rather than go to the big box stores, please come here and support this local business!

An absolute pleasure to visit! I called ahead about Flesh and Blood starter decks, and they told me that those were out of stock but that I could stop by and learn to play with some welcome decks. I ended up playing two games there, got to keep the decks, and bought some packs. Definitely some of the most friendly and helpful staff at any game store Ive been to! Ill be coming back for sure.

Incredible customer service. The staff and ownership are very friendly and go above and beyond to serve their customers. The selection is not as large as some other stores in the area, but they will try their best to get anything you are looking for. This is my new favorite shop!!

Absolutely loved this store!! I was in dire need of some new D20 dice and not only were the owners / managers incredibly helpful but they also showed me around the store (sooooo many comics, Dnd supplies!!,replicas and clothing! I will definitely be going back

Cool place for collectibles. Seen some toys in their original box from 60s, maybe even earlier. Lots of graded comics and a fair amount of newer comics. Also a lot of board games and card based games. Seen some supplies for models as well.

Huge assortment of comics, cards, tabletops accessories and has a thriving community for events. Looking forward to coming back and picking up some much needed supplies for my next game.

This company will sell you an item and then will never ship it to you nor respond to your emails asking when they intend to ship your items. Extremely Poor Communication. I DO NOT recommend doing business with King Kong Comics.

Great comic book and trading card game store. Nice selection of statues and plenty of tabletop games and accessories. The staff was kind and courteous. Plenty of people were playing Yu-Gi-Oh, and they do have Magic nights.I bought a statue and some Yu-Gi-Oh structure decks for my son. I will definitely be coming back.COVID mitigation was adhered to.

Huge selection of board games (new and used), comics, graphic novels, miniatures, paints, toys and trading cards. The selection of anything listed is massive and worth my trip out of town to visit. They even have ample space for gaming and tournaments.Very friendly service and will gladly visit anytime Im in the area.

Im new to miniature painting and TTRPGs. I wanted to get some miniatures and paint. The clerk was super helpful. The price is the same as online stores, but the value of seing the products live and getting help from an experienced clerk is invaluable. They also have items that are sold out online. For example they have the large, three story D&D tower. The company that makes it doesnt even have it in stock.

King Kong was OK, but they didnt have quite the selection I had in mind, though the service was exceptional. Just remember to bring enough bananas for K.K., cuz that freaky ape nearly chewed my head off for not bringing enough last time! Great service!

As a model builder I keep an eye open to find stores that carry paints and diorama related items. This store had citadel brand paints and a few figures but was thinking stuff like game kastle has for modelers.All-around kong has a little bit of everything you would find at a comic store.

The owner of the store is beyond fantastic and his crew are wonderful people. A must go.

Owner rip me off. How am I paying 56 dollars for 5 Pokémon blister pack? It was 5 or 6.99. Owner rip me off. Never going to this store again. Will let other people know about my experience. I don’t care about the price but if you’re going to leave price as 6 dollars and charge me 50 for 5 packs then that’s a different story. Tax is not that much. I could have went else where to buy packs if I knew the owner is going to put this on me. Pretty upset. I don’t know if he thought I was a kid and he can rip me off or if it was a mistake, but he should of saw how high the price was and fix it. Usually I’ll say something but it’s no use to waste my breath on greedy ppl.

I go here every Tuesday to play MTG with some friends. The store owner is usually there and hes a super cool guy. Really nice. The store has a wide variety of nerd-dome things to browse and buy, comics, figures, cards. Very clean store as well with a spacious enough gaming area.

King Kong Comics and Games sells comics, graphic novels, toys, and tabletop games. They also have space set aside for the community to participate in table top gaming and for tourneys; this is in the back of the store, but during the pandemic, the game tables are setup outside along the sidewalk.My initial impression of King Kong Comics and Games was that it catered more to tabletop gaming. This is evidenced by how the store is laid out - the back has four sections for comics (two along the wall, one standalone), along the front wall is a toy section, and the rest of the floor space is dedicated to gaming.  Theres no section on the immediate sales floor that has back issues; though this may exist in their back-stock area. The comics on the shelves are typically new releases. The comic stock they do carry seems to always be in good shape (e.g. in the 9.6+ range); Ive gone to other comic shops that might have more supply, but that supply is usually beat to hell with spine ticks and creases. I dont think Ive ever had to stand at the comic section of King Kong looking like an anal-retentive auditor meticulously examining each book Im interested in buying.Once you get past the initial impression of limited comic selection, you can witness the real magic of the store - thats the people working there. Kerry is absolutely awesome. This guy has the old-school comic-nerd cred, without that cantankerous aloofness that goes along with being the comic book guy. Hes just really friendly. The same goes for everyone else who works there - theyre all just nice, normal people to talk to. Further alleviating the thought that the comic selection is limited, the sales team is always willing to work with their customers on specific items theyre looking for; if its not on the shelf, King Kong will order it or make an effort to find it. For example, Ive asked for graphic novels and variants in the past, and Kerry and company have been able to order those in a reasonable amount of time (usually within a couple of weeks). I think they also have a pull-list service, though I dont use this.And then theres the weekly claim sales...They do this 2-hour claim sale every Saturday on Instagram where Kerry puts up items (e.g. old back stock, variants, bundles, graded-comics, etc.) on a rack, mentions a price, and people on the feed claim it. I dont know why, but I cant stop watching these things. I go out of my way to watch these claim sales - with no intention whatsoever of buying anything - and then I buy something. You pickup a little history, while discovering something you probably wouldnt have purchased otherwise. Its usually the same ~30 or so people on the feed who seem to all one another, and have a friendly camaraderie. Its all fun.

An awesome place. Reliving my role playing youth every time I come in. Just brought my 9 year old daughter to get some new Pokemon cards. You could see the awe in her eyes. She loved everything about it. From the selection to the friendliest shop owner we have ever met, I hope King Kong Comics and Games sticks around for a long time. We will do our part by avoiding Amazon.

Great place in Pleasanton to find comics, games, and table top supplies. They tend to have unique figures and games that are sold to them from collectors which is cool. Sometimes theyre from Kickstarters or are obscure limited editions. If they dont have what youre looking for in stock theyre happy to order. Ive done that with a series where I was missing issues. They are open now, but you need to wear a mask. Please check them out, Id hate for us to lose such a unique place.

Stopped in while on business trip and Owner was super friendly. We had a great conversation about a range of topics. Before I knew it came out 125 dollars lighter on figures never seen before. Which wife loved once I got home. Will visit again

I didnt get to sell my comic books there though the gentleman that work there were very very helpful and my wife and I did spend some money. Which really wasnt the plan but it was was a fun visit they had a lot of nice stuff Id stop by if I were any one of you if youre into the comic books in the toys and that other stuff too we bought some really cool dies yeah well next time were in the area. And spend more money

Fantastic, helpful staff and owners, I was welcomed when I walked in the door and they made sure I was helped. Made it very easy to place special orders. So many game stores do not value customers the way they should, King Kong is doing it right!

My husband and I love coming to king Kong comics, the staff is very nice and helpful. We always spend a good amount of time there, looking through all their merch, cards, comics, and collectibles. They have a good selection. They sell Funko pops, MTG cards, Pokemon cards, Warhammer, D&Ds, etc.. I totally recommend their store.

This is everything you want your local comic book and board game shop to be. Clearly the owner and the staff take great pride in what goes on between these four walls. Great, clean shop - just reopened a little while ago. Theres a great selection of Warhammer miniatures and recent comic issues, as well as a small but solid stock of trade paperbacks and back issues which will, Im sure, become more robust with time.The owner was friendly and knowledgeable; I left with a few new comics. Im eager to check back in a few weeks!

Stopped by today for the first time. The store wasnt 100% done yet, but it definitely had enough stuff to empty our wallets a bit - so I cant imagine how fun it will be when its completely full. Had a great Magic the Gathering selection. We will be back for the D&D Books and Minis when they get more of the campaign books in.

Came in for the first time today! Man what an epic LGS! Mtg/Warhammer/Pokemon/Starwars and many many more! What a great selection and very friendly staff! Dropped in for some boosters and ended up chatting with staff and other patrons! Very nice people and not pretentious or rude which sometimes can be the case in some game stores. I definently want to come back for FNM! Lots of good mystery boxes and comics as well! Check them out if you havent!

Their comic book selection looks great and the shop is very clean. I wish they could stock more miniatures products but I understand the market is very niche.

Just not good. Prices are through the roof; I literally saw the same dice set at the Dollar Tree next door that this place was selling for $18. Absolutely insane.

Clean, friendly, good stock of comics, gaming items, action figures, boards, bags, etc., On the rare occasion they dont have something readily available, they will order it and you will receive it quickly. They also have a program where you tell them what you look for and they will hold those items/titles for you as they come in.
