The pompano location really does not have their act together. I dropped my lawn mower off two weeks ago on a Saturday and was told I would have a quote on the repair on Monday. Called Tuesday morning and was told the repair/parts department is closed for vacation until the following Tuesday. call again a week later and was told the same thing. Basically the repair department is closed for two weeks. This was never communicated to me. I do not recommend using this company. They really dont know how to run a business.
It’s always a very good experience at Northern Tool at Pompano Beach . The employees there make me feel like family. Troy Is very knowledgable with everything in the store and very kind to help me. This time a wonderful young lady Rose help me with a purchase I made with a Powerhorse Generator and she is a very good sales person that she even convince me to buy the accidental warranty on it. I meet Eugene the manager there and he sure made me laugh and he has a very good sense of humor I like to see that in a manager and he sure knows about generators as well. This will always be my #1 store to shop at. They always sell good quality tools as well. Thank you Northern Tool for having good employees there.
This store is ridiculous! Don’t buy stihl products from them. They make you register your information after you have already paid for an item. They don’t advise ahead of time that you need to provide name, phone number, address, email, etc in order to leave the store with your already paid for item. Which apparently is there contract with stihl. As a consumer, I didn’t sign a contract with stihl so if I am declining warranty, I should not have to provide my personal information. When management was addressed about our request to decline the registration, it was told to us that we have to in order to purchase the item. Can anyone advise what law requires you to provide a business your personal information in order to make a power tool or lawn and garden purchase? There isn’t one. The manager of the store literally walked away when asked this question. In order to leave with our already paid for item, we were allowed to put in the stores address and phone number in order to register. If this is the case, why did we need to register in the first place? This company has lost our business for good. They are the only stihl dealer that I have dealt with requiring this information and I have a right to privacy. With all the data sharing and hacking, I have the right to choose whom I share my personal information.
The team at this store is wonderful. I lost my receipt and had to return two items that were too large. The cashier retrieved their digital receipt based on my phone number and I was able to get the correct size. No issue at all in the exchange. This is a great shop to find the tools you need.
Ione star because you have to put down something. I took my 1 year old Honda lawnmower to Northern tool. said rightly warranty doesnt cover Carburetor paid diagnosis $40. clean as recommended $80. said i should replace spark plug which had good spark and change oil. i didnt want to pay 50 for what i can do in 10 minutes. oil doesnt degrade in 15 hrs of us, spark is good. Ill never use them again for any small engine repair.. said the spark plug had black on it. i ask the manager to check it because I knew it didnt.. he wouldnt (it wasnt bad) I double checked it. when I got home

I have tried unsuccessfully over the years to have Northern tools send all advertising catalogs addressed to me. For some unknown reason, the catalogs arrive at my house addressed to my wife & she has never stepped foot in the store. My rating for Northern Tools is a big fat O, since they don’t know how to reach their customer. HARBOR FREIGHT, does a much better job & therefore gets ALL my business! Northern Tools, you suck!
Really helpful staff. I brought in a generator for repair that was under warranty. The sales rep wanted to check it out before I left it to make sure it wasnt something that could be simply resolved so I wouldnt have to leave it. He not only got it started but also suggested leaving it run for 10-15 minutes to make sure it remained on. It did and I took it home. He could have easily just taken it in for service and get paid from Westinghouse. I will certainly trust them for future service.
I love this store! The staff is phenomenal. The sales people are very knowledgeable, the parts and service department does excellent work, the cashiers are friendly and helpful, and management goes above and beyond to help you find what you need and correct any issues immediately.
We came to the Pompano Beach location because they had the item we needed in stock. The manager was so kind to actually set it aside for us as it was the last one. Once we arrived we actually found another item that we had needed which was not available at the Miami location! The customer service he is exceptional and the cashier and manager went above and beyond to assist us. I highly recommend!

Buyer Beware.... Northern Tool has lost a loyal customer. Coming to the retails store to replace a thousand dollar machine bought within a week that stopped working in the first three minutes of having it on, to be told that I had to leave it for the mechanic to check and mechanic not there till Monday. Waste of my money, time & stress. When requested to hive my money back cause I was no longer interested in keeping machine cause of service they still did not want to hive my money back till mechanic looks into the machine. I hope they know once a machine is put apart it looses is warranty on which that means another headache to deal with after their 45 days. I dont know what the in store retail problem is but as Ive been contacting customer service by phone or online its all different in every department. So be careful with this company they need to update their policy and let the consumer know from time of purchase what to expect in a situation when your machines breakdown and how the customer will be without able to work due to having to leave their machine to get checked by their mechanic on a Monday to Friday service, you out of luck if they dont have a mechanic at their store - Good Luck! Im still in my 45 days return policy & I dont know what their problem is. Even regional manager dont return your calls for explanation. Who wants to do business with a company that doesnt service its customers right and that every department you call they all work different within the same company. Do your research and buy direct from the manufacturer, it saves you time, money & stress.
Checked on the website harborfreight in lighthouse point said they had pilot Jackson stock. I get up there to find out they dont have any that they are all prepaid and you cannot purchase them in the store even though the website stated you could. They went online and checked and seen that Margate had two for sale. They called Margate verified that they had two and sent me over there to pick one up. I get over to the harbor freight in Margate and Im told that the two they have are not for sale even though the website said they were because one was for store use and one was a display. You all need to keep your website accurate and so people dont spend their day one running around for nothing. Ended up paying double what I would have at harbor freight at Northern tool. Will not go back to harbor freight for anything again

Absolutely the worst customer service experience. The person working in the service department was lazy and incompetent, he was too busy playing with his phone, and appeared annoyed when I tried to get assistance. I asked how long it would take to get my machine serviced. he indicated 2 weeks !!!! I proceeded to call Northern Tool customer service to see if they could help expedite the process, They referred me to another store that would be able get my machine serviced in a few days. I returned to the store to pick up my machine about 30 minutes later, and the guy in the repair department was was still playing on his phone, still had an attitude, didnt even bother to ask if I needed help loading the pressure washer in my vehicle . Pathetic !! Stay away from this store !!!

How is this still in business? Horrible customer service. No one knows anything about the products . The online is different from a store purchase so good luck if you have any issues. The service department is not open during the weekend which is inconvenient. Very disappointed with this company.
To say that I am unhappy is to say the least. I am frustrated. I ordered an item from Northern Tool in December and would only receive updates if I requested it. Every update was a false delivery date. Until the point where they gave me a end of February tentative delivery date. I am frustrated because I needed this item for work. Because of the long wait, I missed out on several work opportunities and had monetary loss. It doesn’t end there. AFTER I requested a cancellation of the order, the charged my bank for the full price of the order, leaving my account with a negative balance and stranded at the supermarket with a full cart of groceries and insufficient funds, thanks to Northern Tool. They STILL HAVE NOT refunded my money. In other words, Im left without money until they decide to refund it and left without a essential work part. Luckily Amazon had the part which got to me in 2 days. However if Northern Tool doesn’t refund me, I’ll be reaching out to a lawyer. This kind of customer service is unacceptable and frankly, SUCKS.
If I could give zero star I would...Pea Brain for Customer service, he wouldnt listen to anything I tried to tell/ask him, I needed help, his answers were NO & NO. Northern Tool made no money. Management needs to get this No-man TRAINED, may not be able to absorb.

Northern Tool has a fairly good selection, but there was a pretty significant amount of empty shelves and hooks where product should be. Hopefully they will be able to get that rectified soon.

Ive been shopping quite often at NORTHERN tool pompano beach location since theyve opened an they have went threw alot of different come an go employees they were always grumpy or seemed they didnt like there job Ive been noticing new face there named Jocelyn (Joy) she makes thr customers feel welcome an greets them every time no matter what shes doing very into what she does an it shows northern needs more of Joy workers for sure, Ive had my bad experiences at the location quite a few times but she makes it happen an helpful all the time!!

I’m a simpleton lol. I don’t know much about construction and was nervous about my first diy project. I came here and this nice gentleman, Edwin I think was his name, made me feel comfortable and confident in helping me find the tools necessary for the job. The staff is great and the store was very organized. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Do not buy a gas power machine from here. They will not let you return it if defective before actually having a mechanic look at it which it can take days. Paid $400 & machine is defective never used it & had to drop it off until the mechanic has availability to look at it but if I paid $100 I could have jumped the line. Job to be done & that was why we purchased the machine, so can’t do It. No store manager to override anything.

I purchased an electric winch at Northern tool about three months ago and I used it the second time today to pull a generator up on my trailer and it would not work. Every time I call the store, the representative put me on hold for ten minutes at a time. That is quite unprofessional and irritating and I will not shop there again

Associates are only partially wearing covid 19 face masks,its around their ears or under their chin,do not feel safe. Ignore or send customer to wrong place for items,we asked nicely to find something, and got redirected 3 times,just bouncing us place to place with no help.The store was not busy,employees standing around but not willing to help.

I have always bought tools here. They stock a lot of inventory, and quality and prices are reasonable. I have always paid with my Bank of America Business credit card, but this time the cashier told me the machine wont accept that specific card, and it didnt. She told me they have been having this issue for a while and their IT department hasnt been able to fix it. I had to use my personal American Express. Your IT department needs to be fired and hire competent people. Next time I will go to Grainger across the street; sometimes it is worth paying a little more for better service.

I wish I could rate this place a zero star. I was looking for a pressure washer For my business and did my research. I contacted north and tools corporate office and called them and asked them what was the wattage that this machine used. They sent me an email replying with 2400 Watts was the wattage that I needed to make this machine run. So I bought the machine because I had a generator that runs up to 2800 W. When I plugged in the pressure washer to my generator It would not turn on. So the water wouldn’t even come out of the gun. As a result I return the unit to Northern tool and these charge me a restocking fee of 15% which was over $100. So basically I had to pay for something that was completely not my fault. I’ve had a friend of mine who’s returned machines there before and has got the full amount never charged a restocking fee. This comes to show how people don’t care about the little guy only care about pleasing their bosses. It’ so basically I had to pay for something that was completely not my fault. This location has a manager much like a prepubescent high school jock. Useless when it comes to customer service. I last visited a month ago after spending over $550 there.Thr following day I needed to exchange a few items totaling about $200. Items unopened and in perfect condition. After they declined to help I said I will return them. They said we dont have $200 cash to refund you. I said I will wait. It was 11:45am. At the time. After watching customers make large purchases with cash for over an hour I asked if they were ready. Nope the man replied with a sarcastic smile. This is the store manager mind you. I Sat there until 3:15pm and they finally got the point. The 2 employess at the registers were shocked the with the managers actions.. 3 1/2 hours for a return because I was dealing with a emotional child that allowed his lack a maturity to get in the way of his job as a professional. Today I purchased $200 in trailer parts and asked if They were going to honor the 5% discount I was promised for waiting over 3 hours and here came that big shot child with his poor attitude. He laughed at me and said no. Ill stop there because it gets ugly and that kind of stuff it no good for anyone. + 1 more star because they are still in business..BAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAAA.all the reviews that say the manager is doing great were posted within a 2 week period.. a month after I posted my own experience with him..... to freaking funny man.Mr. Manager are you responsible for the coincidence?Fyi it takes 1 phone call to google to remove negative reviews from your Google business profile. I come to this place when Im looking for that hard to find part. Whether it be a replacement part for my lawn mower or a set of casters for my kegerator... this is the place to go. Battle tested, Marine approved. Trust me, Im a Marine. I wouldnt steer you wrong.
Brought my very well kept, brand new condition generator in for a carburetor cleaning/service. Got it back with missing hose clamps, missing mounting bolts, and it looks like it spent 3 months on a construction site. It had oil and grease all over it as well. To top it off, its running terrible. Stay away from the service dept. The service dept in the Cutler Ridge store is almost as bad; when they have a working technician.
They would not service me. Had to call 5 times and Frank still hasnt checked if he had a part for me.

Inept, lazy and not all customer service oriented. Purchased a wheel truck tire that dod not fit, tried finding another one but struck out. They would not accept the never used tire as it was purchased over 30 days prior. So called manager was a gum chewing lady who would not speak to me directly, took an incoming call instead of handling the issue. Off fo Harbor Freight. This branch in Pompano is not helpful, except for the young man at the register.
