I thought it was awesome that the salesman was willing to hold the bike for 24 hours without even a down payment while I thought about my options. I know bikes are in very short supply right now and that bike couldve been sold easily that day, but I really appreciated getting to go home and compare specs on my own before coming back to complete the purchase. Everyone I dealt with in Pontiac was super friendly and knowledgeable and no one tried to press me to walk out with it that day. Im a decently experienced mechanic myself, so I also appreciated that after I declined the service package the salesman did not try to hard-sell it. Other bike shops have left a bad taste in my mouth which is the main reason I started to learn how to repair and rebuild bikes in the first place, but I will definitely look to American Cycle first from now on when purchasing any parts, accessories, or eventually upgrading to a new bike.

Called and talked to Jeff on the phone about a particular bike I was looking for. He looked at his inventory and was able to locate the exact bike I wanted. My experience with a few other bike shops have been less than pleasing, making me feel like Im wasting their time. When I arrived to purchase the bike Jeff walked me through everything, offered suggestions for accessories in the future; I did not feel pressured to purchase accessories. A very good experience. Jeff gained my business from here on out!

Very surprised when I took my bike there for front brake repair. Thinking I would be leaving it there and worried about a big service bill.To my surprise the man getting ready to write up my repair info says, oh very simple fix.He spun my front around and my cables were back in their right position. Duh!!On my part!!I was out of there in 5 min, no charge. He even put the bike back on my car. They have my future biz..

I just dropped off my bike for a repair. My initial impressions are that I am very satisfied with the quality of the customer service that the gentleman gave me. Its very rare that someone makes you feel good about something that youre doing and he made me feel like I was leaving my bike in the right hands.I will update this post at the completion of my service with my ultimate findings but again my initial impressions are very very good.

Save your time and DON’T go to this store.I went to the store about one month ago looking for a mountain bike, this person called IAN said that they didn’t have any bikes at the moment but he suggested, if i wanted, I could pay a deposit for a $100, order it from the store and I’ll for sure get the bike maybe by the first week of may (2021) or for sure sure the second week of may, one way or another they will call me to let me know when the bike will arrive and I could go to pick it up; I said yes after the suggestion of this person but during the moment of the transaction and while I was asking some questions about the bike, size, warranty, maintenance and all that EVERYONE have to know before buy a bike($640), I started to feel some kind of sarcastic tone from him, kinda a bad vibe... The transaction was complete, I Left the store and start to wait for “the call”First week of may gone, second week of may, waiting for the call that i never got. I decided to call to the store and get some update about the order, first they said that only a shipment came to the store and my bike wasn’t there and probably was going to take a year to get the bike.Called again next day to asked about the refund policy, they said come to the store because its the only way to get it.Today i went to the store, another person called DAVE was “Helping me” with the process of the refund but before that, he grabbed my receipt, I supposed he read the reference of the bike, HE SAID, “I’m going to check in the back, maybe for some reason we have your bike, because we have a couple back there” waiting for about 2 minutes, he got back and said “No, unfortunately is not there” I said okay, thank you for checking, refund process was complete, I left the store...After driving for a couple of minutes the voice mail of my phone popped up, got a message from the store saying that my bike was ready to pick up, I was very surprised because no more than 10 minutes ago I was in the store, asking about the bike, about the order, and they just DID NOT have the capacity or ability to figure it out.I headed back to the store, to speak with this DAVE person and figure out if I can buy just a mountain bike or not and he just negate everything about that he never went to check in the back and all of the other...I was like this is for real? Man, You don’t have any idea about offering good customer service or an apology for NOT DOING your job in the right way.While happened all of that, they finally found the bike and brought it out, and again, this person called IAN who was doing the sell process was being very rude, arrogant and so unprofessional no too far from his co-worker DAVE, like they just don’t care what it is about to offer a good and helpful customer service. At the end this person offered me to buy the care plan(anual maintenance) but the condition was getting it the same day, in the same transaction with the bike, I couldn’t buy it in another occasion, that was the real only chance, I said not, just wanted to buy the bike, what I did.Called to the other ACF TREK store in Hall Rd and asked about the care plan, and they said that I have 30 days after the purchased of the bike to get it. So...In conclusion PLEASE, PLEASE, DON’T go to this location but if you want to have a real bad time just trying to buy a bike this would be your perfect place.La buena 🤙🏿

Im really impressed with this shop. I brought my 2020 Giant Advanced Revolt 2 in for an annual tune up and new tires placed and they had a turn around of one day. ONE DAY. That’s rare right now with how busy bike shops are. I originally bought my bike at KLM in Rochester but they aren’t as friendly nor speedy so I’ll always go here from now on to get it serviced. Fast and quality work. My shifting feels buttery smooth and the prices are fair for the quality of work. Thank you for taking pride in your craft.

Ive purchased 3 of my bikes from this location & theyre all great. The sales & service team are welcoming as well as helpful. They always take time to listen & answer my questions. With 2 of my purchases I also added their ACF Gold care plan which allows free tune-up for the bikes & a great deal on service and parts. Ive biked & shopped for bikes for a majority of my life & I would recommend this location to anybody looking to purchase a Trek.

All the staff at the Pontiac shop is really knowledgeable and passionate about cycling. Paul has always given me great advice and support since I started cycling eight years ago, and hes my go-to for bicycle-related questions.

I went to the store to get my bike repaired for one of the parts. Firstly, I was told that I have to pay for the part as its not covered under the warranty. Also, if they file a claim then it will take months to get it approved so suggested not to with the claim.I took my bike to ACF Macomb County shop then they immediately told me its a recall and they will file the claim and I will get my bike within a week.

I really appreciate the personal detail provided by the staff at the Pontiac location. The service is unparalleled. Mike spent about an hour with the wife and I trying to fit us on a set of new bikes. He was super knowledgeable and had ta great attitude. We had been at other locations before coming here and wished that we were here all along. Ian was also amazing, kind, and helpful taking out extra time to make sure we were satisfied. Both were very supportive of the purchases we made and actually detracted us from getting too high end of bikes given our novice nature. They gave us exactly the bike that we needed without all the dreaded upsell. Even after we made the purchase, we unfortunately couldn’t fit the bikes in our car and Mike stepped up to the plate and offered a solution. Mikes “extra step” going above and beyond to help their customer and the family nature of the shop fostered by an excellent manager (Ian) is what will make me drive from a further distance to come to this store. I definitely recommend Pontiac American Cycle & Fitness without any reservations.

I purchased a mens, Trek Checkpoint, from this store and Im extremely happy I did! The Checkpoint is an awesome, all around bike. I can ride it on and off road. 4 out of 5 times Ive bought a new tire tube from these guys they have a slow leak and go flat after a cpl days and I have to keep putting air in the tire. I called to get to the bottom of why this keeps happening and the guy basically acted like I was making it up. Rude. Ill be going to another shop from now on

I found the help here very rude. I was selecting a helmet and other accessories + had questions. I was holding about $200.00 worth of items trying to get assistance. The employees (2 guys) telling a what happened the night before story. Which was much more important then talking to and or cashing out customers. I left the merchandise on the counter walked out, rude so rude. I wouldnt waste my time or money going back,Cylcetherapy is right down the street : always helpful and courteous.

The guys who work here are awesome. I bought my sons Trek here and also had it in for repair after he was clipped by a car. They fixed the bike within 24 hours and it returned it to us cleaned and looking as good as the day we bought it! My adult son has special needs and the bike is his source of transportation. I have purchased several bikes from the Pontiac location over the years as well as trainers, countless parts and service. The staff has been friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Because of my experiences there, I only shop at the Pontiac store.

First off I understand it’s a stressful time in the bike world with lack of inventory issues, but the customer service was extremely poor at this store. When I came in with my three sons the salesperson asked what we were looking for. I barely got two words out and he said they didn’t have any bikes available and wouldn’t for a long time. He’s tone was short and rude. I asked if we could just browse the inventory on the floor. He said yes so we looked around while he helped someone else. After about 10 minutes I did notice some options I was interested in, but was being patient waiting while he helped someone else. I asked my son to sit on a couple to gage size. The salesperson yells from across the room to limit touching the bikes unless we’re buying one. What! That’s what we were trying to do- buy one! We were trying to buy one without assistance and being immediately dismissed from the beginning. They lost my business- we are in the market for new bikes for a family of five. We drove a ways to visit this shop and were very disappointed. Luckily REI was able to assist us with kindness and the customer service we deserved. Save yourself the trip and look elsewhere if you want a good customer experience. The world is tough right now, be kind, we really need it!

Guy named Jason was awful to deal with. We had spent more than $2,000 last summer on 4 bikes and this year he wouldn’t even entertain the idea of helping me. Said it was a 14 week wait, and he’s not in the business of teaching me his job. I won’t be returning or recommending this place anymore. Maybe that’ll help ease those 14 week waits.

Joe has done a magnificent job with installing a new fenders on my Verve2 bike; where they told me at D&D bikes that it is impossible that Verve2 could have them installed.Paul is such a nice guy who always answers all of my questions and help with me choosing the right stuff which fit with my bike and need.Thank you all, and keep up the great job

I came into the store for more information about a bicycle trainer. They had a few types set up for demonstration which was very helpful when making a decision. Both technicians were familiar with trainers, their accessories and various apps I was interested in. I was just planning on looking but I ended up buying. One of the techs even shuttled my purchase (60 lbs) to my office 2 blocks away. These guys are all right!

Great bike shop! Stopped in because I needed a new tube and patch kit and couldnt have picked a better place to get it. The guys were helpful, friendly, and went above and beyond. I was taken over to a wall sized map where one of the guys pointed out local trails and what to expect from each, as well as how to get there and where to park. Im from out of town, but in the area semi-frequently due to business, Ill be sure to shop here again when Im in town again and need anything bike related!

A great store, but customer service could be better(could learn how to talk to people).Also they did not notify me when my bike was repaired.Both bought and repaired my bike there.

Had to wait a week for an online order they said was in stock. I understand these weird times but other bike stores are much more attentive. I wouldnt have left this review except for the email I got not meant for me asking what my problem was. Very rude. It was their problem. They told me they didnt have my order and only because I was sitting in the parking lot making phone calls did they find it and bring it out to me otherwise I would have driven away and had to make another trip.

Ive been to many bicycle shops over my lifetime and American Cycle & Fitness (Pontiac location specifically) was the best experience Ive ever had. My family and I will no longer go to any other bike shop, even the AC&F thats 30 minutes closer to me, because of the knowledgeable and friendly staff in the Pontiac store. They spent time with me to make sure I was purchasing the correct bike for my needs, set up a couple different models for me to test ride, talked shop about local bike trails and current bikes, and then went over the my bike with me to make sure I was familiar with all the technology (these newer mountain bikes have tons of gadgets).So, big thumbs up and thanks again for selling me a beautiful bike at a great price!

Julia helped me pick out the perfect Trek 8.4 DS Viper 2 weeks ago. She was excellent to work with, taught me all the things I needed to know about the bike and accessories. She made some recommendations to my friend on her existing bike. Two weeks later, my friend bought the exact same bike with Julias help again. What an awesome establishment so willing to teach you everything you need to know about biking. Great people, great place!

Great customer service. The day after buying a bike from another ACF location, I deciding to exchange it for a different size. They helped me get the bike off of my roof rack and back on. No questions asked with my receipt in hand... they simply got the after market stuff off of the other bike and put it on the one I was getting, then the tech gave it a once over. It was quick and painless.... ready to ride! I highly recommend this bike shop.

Brought a couple older bikes in there to have reconditioning done one bike completely honest he couldnt touch it because they dont make parts for he helped me also look for the parts. Other bike inspected fully totally honest only needed tubes. Highly recommend this place to anybody and everyone.

So disappointed with our service by Joe. 1. he never directly came up to us and helped us, shouted from room to room saying “no wrong bike” or “not what you are looking for” instead of him showing us and actually acting like he wanted to sell us a bike. I was told he is the store manager and was quite shocked that this company has him Representing them. Such a rude person that his even his employee told me he doesn’t work Thursdays and to come back and they will help us out! I took my business to the macomb location instead and what a difference in service! I should have stopped in years ago! I visited this morning after I discovered a flat tire. I did not know if they would stock the odd size inner tube that I needed. Louis, the store manager, looked at the inner tube and knew immediately it was a 20 and picked out a replacement from his shelf.Louis was super friendly, and gave me a tour of the shop. His passion for bikes and Pontiac was clear. I am really glad I visited. I will never buy from the national chain Performance Bike again! American Cycle and Fitness is a local Michigan chain of six stores and deserves our business!
