Not a plesant place to work with, diagnostic of my car was not legitimate, took my vehicle somewhere else and was told a different story, the cost of the cost of the work was 1/4 and my vehicle runs fine

Without a doubt this is the worst repair shop Ive ever gone to. They could not diagnosed my problem, so they replaced everything they thought it could be. Twice. The overcharge on parts was outrageous. Thenext shop I took my car to diagnosed and fixed it within 2 days. Technicians do not have the skills and the owner doesnt care. I strongly advise you stay away from this repair shop

My need was no big deal, but two other places didnt care to try to fit me in. I was in a bind and tires were bouncing bad, and needed to be rotated because I was heading out the next day on a 1200 mile drive. S&S went out of their way - without an appointment - they made a little room for me and helped me out. Very professional, very courteous, and I will absolutely return for future services on my truck when needed.

Used these good folks to put some wheel spacers on my Jeep. Excellent job, very fairly priced and honest. Came back again this week because brake warning light came on. They diagnosed the problem immediately and didn’t try to upswell me a bunch of unnecessary additional work. Did the job fir less than I would expected & problem completely resolved. Will definitely use them again for any future maintenance, repairs or upgrades.

Im a recent arrival in FL, and S&S was recommended by my previous mechanic. Very happy with the service. My 1971 VW bus needed a new engine and Charlie and the staff had me back on the road in short order and for a reasonable price. My neighbor turned me on to these guys. They did my transmission and catalytic converter and Im real happy. Well 8 months later and Im still real happy with the service I receive here. My ac went out in my truck a couple weeks back on the way into town. I called the shop and asked if they could check it out for me and was told sure come on in and well take a look at it real quick. I went and they did. My truck is 12 years old and I had never had anything done to the ac. Turned out the system was 1/2 lb. low on freon which is a third of its capacity. Zaire(sp?) wasnt sure that would solve the problem completely so told me to drive it and see if that worked and if it did to stop back to settle up. Well it took me 2 weeks to get back in but the ac has been working fine and I was very happy with the service and the cost of having it done. Thanks everyone :)

Hit an object on the road, loud thunk had me worried, they were very busy but took it in, checked it out thoroughly, not major problem, NO CHARGE! Good people, so glad i found them.

My sister in law purchased a vehicle from S&S, and had it for one day, and within that one day, her dash stopped working, and now it doesn’t even start, and not to mention they did a private sale to ensure that when we found out the car was a dud, we couldn’t get a refund. The main guy that sold us the car too also kept asking if the car was still running, so obviously he knew this car was garbage. Very unprofessional, and good scam artists. Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT buy from S&S.

I have made them my mechanic. I am older and totally unskilled in the operation of a car. My car is a used older model that needs repairs too frequently. I am new in the area and by a quirk of circumstances I found S and S. Or rather, they found me, car broke down on the road, a wonderful woman stopped to help. It turns out She is an owner, or partner, and that was a few months ago. Recently they found the solution to a very bad nagging problem that had my car turning off at lights, stop signs, etc. They not only found the problem and fixed it, but the service charge was a jolt to me: i clearly expected it to be more. I have found my mechanic: S and S. The entire staff is wonderful and a pleasure to deal with.

I would highly recommend S & S. I have a sensor in my passenger seat throwing a light on my dash. Charlie and his crew went the extra mile trying to help me. They tried one thing and then another and finally told me only the dealer can fix it. Wow!! He worked for hours and got nothing for his efforts except a loyal customer. Me!!

Rude! Spoke to them about a vehicle they have thats blocking the view around a stop sign. I asked if they could move it back some so you can see on coming cars. She got an attitude with me! Why? I have no problem going over their heads with this. Just thought before I take legal action, Id politely ask them first to avoid an accident turning onto harborview.

Weve used S&S Money for auto repairs for the last 3 years, and have had no major issues with their work or the cost of repairs. We drive to New England at least once a year, and we usually take our vehicle to S&S money to ensure that its ready for the 2500+ mile round trip. Theyve found a few issues (belts, etc), but these checkups have always been very reasonably priced. Weve also had an instance when they couldnt reproduce the problem we were seeing, yet they didnt charge us. It was clear that they had spent time on attempting to find the issue, and they were at pains to let me know what to do if/when the problem reoccured.My only issue with S&S is that they arent always great with communication ... in several instances, I have had to call to find out the status of our vehicle. Its not a major issue, but one I wish they would fix. But Ill have no hesitation in bringing either of our vehicles to S&S the next time they need some repairs.

I took my fathers 1969 Pontiac Firebird to SS money to have all the issues that the car had fixed. This shop was suggested to us by the former Thunder Road classic car restoration shop in Port Charlotte. They had the car for 6 months. In this time they claimed to have repaired all the issues it had but in fact what they had done was made more issues then what it came with!! They let it sit outside and ruined the convertible top. They painted the motor witch they claimed was to make sure that it wasnt ran to hot. After a week the paint started to burn off and flake away. All of the seals where leaking. Bolts where missing. Vacuum lines had bolts in them and the bill was 10k!!! I wouldnt take a lawn mower to these people!!

They did not fix my car correctly, over charged for a diagnostic check and when asked how they came to the conclusions they came up with, they got offended. I just got the feeling they were trying to hide something from me, like it could have been an easy fix but they didnt want me to know that. The good reviews that you see are from people who have a lot of money. If you go here, prepare to pay S&S some MONEY.

Mechanic side of this business is seriously lacking in customer service skills however the lady in charge of the uhaul side was amazing and very helpful. She stayed late to make sure we got a uhaul and car trailer so we could continue on our journey. She is the ONLY reason I give this place 5 stars.

After making a uhaul reservation, and being told they were open till 2 on Sat, we were told by staff when calling at 11 to find out hitch size needed (which she couldnt tell me)...yet informed me we needed to come soon bc they were closing early, she said by 1.15... at 12.55 i called to inform on way and then lady says... oh we cant find ur trailer on the lot anyways...go someplace else!!! Unprofessional, and she just wanted to close early... uhaul guarantees reservations and the trailer was shown on the lot...soneither she was lying or it was being used and not ckd out in uhaul systems... incident report filed for us by next retailor who helped us actually get equipment... they may be good on auto repairs, i dunno... but attitude stunk, coukdnt answer questions, closed before advertised hours and didnt deliver on our reservations... not happy, wont be going bk.

Towing people here are not knowledgeable when it comes to vehicles. Tow guy didnt know where the clutch release button is neither did his boss had to call another company after an hr wasted

After 6 years of trouble free driving and very good maintenance, I Had my transmission go out maybe 5-10 miles after a minor accident with impact to the front wheel (front wheel drive car)We took the car to s&s based on a recommendation from the insurance company. (I know, dont listen to the insurance companies recommendations) approximately 30 minutes after dropping it off they came to the conclusion that it had nothing to do with the accident, since there was no external damage to the transmission. They couldnt tell me what the problem was, other than a what the computer said, nor would they open it up. When I asked them to open it up and find out exactly what the problem was, offering to pay for it myself they agreed to do it. After I didnt hear anything for a while I called again. They tried to tell me that the transmission was broken and needed replaced, but couldnt tell me what exactly was broken. When I picked the car up I checked it out myself and it was obvious the transmission hadnt been removed or opened at all. The car wasnt drivable, and it was appearant that no wrench had touched it, because the dirt on the bolts didnt appear to be disturbed in the least. Based on their opinion geico refused to pay up. (SURPRISE!!) I took the car to a professional transmission shop for a second opinion. They said absolutely it could be related, since the impact carries from the wheel straight into the transmission through the axle. It would be impossible to tell for sure without a tear down, but Theyd seen it before where there was no external damage, but the insides were tore up. The CVT is a very sensitive transmission.So while this may simply be a difference of opinion, and the people are friendly enough at S&S, they didnt seem very thorough at all. They may or may not be very good at repairs, I cant testify to that, but after dealing with another shop the difference in service was contrasted sharply.

Now i know why money is in the name.. Over charges for everything, i needed my car towed and held on the lot for one day and it cost over 300$

Rented a Uhaul van here. Disgusting. Dried cat urine, first and ants in the cargo area. Dried food in the cab as well as spilled soda. I was low on time so I could not return the van the same day, but then they had the nerve to charge me an additional $45 for a fuel surcharge and fuel? Stear clear of this place! A racket just looking to provide you with poor service, disgusting equipment, and to try and steal your money! A complaint was filed with Uhaul corporate office and they are also looking in on this location.
