A beautiful array of top quality chocolates. It was tough only picking a few. Looking forward to again to try more flavors. They have ice cream, too.

Stopped in for a bit of ice cream and was astounded by how incredible it was! Very strong, delicious flavors that are intense, but not in a bad way! Very unique options as well! I had rosemary fudge swirl and salted caramel, both flavors were absolutely amazing. The prices for everything were very reasonable especially for the quality of both the ice cream and the chocolate. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a quick sweet fix!

The ice cream is awesome! Most of it is homemade and you can sample it before you decide. I had the raspberry white chocolate which had huge slabs of chocolate plus the lavender honey in a waffle cone dipped in dark chocolate. I love the exotic flavor offerings. They have traditional flavors, as well.

My husband and I took a trip to Port Washington for Valentine’s Day, I’m a big supporter of small business and this place can take my money any day! We bought about $100 worth of chocolate to consume and some as gifts, though it almost didn’t make it through the drive back to Kentucky. Everything was absolutely delicious with one exception, I didn’t much care for the dark chocolate espresso bar but other than that everything was amazing. Still gave it 5starts because it’s worth it. The staff was inviting and friendly and gave us the back story of the shoppe. We will certainly be back to this town and in the meantime I will order this chocolate online!

We absolutely love this place! Its what inspired our trip up here from Arkansas! We visited a few years ago and were introduced to this place by my sister in law, I asked my husband if he thought she would mail me some and he suggested we just make the trip up to get our own! I learned that they not only ship but the girls working gave us cards to contact if we needed help! So friendly, polite, and helpful! And of course the chocolate is to die for!!!

We moved to Port Washington this August and only recently got around to exploring local businesses. On NYE we stopped by to try something special for our night in, and I adventurously tried their honey lavender ice cream...and let me say I CANNOT stop thinking about it! It was hands down the best ice cream I have ever had in my life. I truly regretted getting the smallest size they had.I went back yesterday and because they rotate flavors, the lavender honey was no longer on the menu. I was super bummed out and mentioned it to the extremely nice lady behind the counter, who recommended I try the carrot cake ice cream...and seriously I was on cloud 9.Ive learned some valuable lessons about The Chocolate Chisel:1. Do not order a small ice cream cone unless you are absolutely certain you cannot treat yourself to a normal size because you will regret not getting an XL the second you taste the ice cream.2. Kopps has nothing on The Chocolate Chisel and I will no longer be driving 35 minutes to get a custard fix between finals.3. Try flavors that sound out of your comfort zone, you may discover new all time favorites!Theyre my new favorite ice cream shop and I am so excited theyre right here in my town!

I have been here before and always enjoyed my experience, but today I left very disappointed. My husband and I were taking our nightly walk and decided to get some ice cream, & decided on the chocolate chisel. My very first problem was how incredibly rude the staff was, they were very unprofessional. We proceeded to look at our options and decided on milk shakes, 2 milk shakes cost us TWENTY DOLLARS... $20 for 2 milkshakes, we were a little appalled at the price, but decided it would be worth it. We’re we so ever very wrong, I ordered a hot fudge shake & took one sip and it had absolutely no flavor, & secondly the size of the milkshakes were not worth $10. If I’m paying $10 for a milkshake it better be exactly what I asked for, yet I got a vanilla milkshake with the ever so slight tint of chocolate. The employees started to sing and dance in front of us, & did not tell us to have a goodnight or anything. I am HIGHLY disappointed in my service and quality of product. I will be telling all my friends and family to not go here, & will never bring my business to them again.

The wife and I really enjoy getting ice cream here. Its a neat little shop, and the ice cream is good and affordable. The house made chocolates are prohibitively expensive for the budget minded, but I have no doubt they are exquisite. Id love to try the malts and shakes, but again, they are twice as expensive as the ice cream. Employees are always friendly, and its a nice location just outside the heart of downtown Port.

Fantastic ice cream, the lad working there was really nice and helped us sculpt some cones of glory.

Although their flavors are off the charts, twice now I have gone there and they just put a tiny dollop of ice cream on the cone and leave the waffle cone completely empty. Its disgraceful and a rip off..

The staff was very friendly and the establishment was clean. The candy looked amazing but we only stopped on the way home to get ice cream.The waffle cone had a scoop in it that had sunk way down into the cone and the young lady asked if we wanted just the 1 scoop cone. My boyfriend and I looked at each other with confusion as any other ice cream parlor usually fill the cone with ice cream and put an additional 1 scoop one top and that is considered a 1 scoop cone. We ended up getting another scoop so it came out of the cone a little. What was considered a 1 scoop cone at most other places ended up being a 2 scoop cone here.My daughter got a shake and I got a malt. They were both very liquidy in consistency. I feel they were using too much milk. It tasted just like we were drinking chocolate milk!They also measured everything out. From the weight of the ice cream used in the shake and malt, to the milk used in them. It just felt a bit strange and tedious. I have never seen this done at any other parlor before. Most places know how much to use by simply eyeing it up or going off of the consistency of the shake/malt. If they are measuring these things for the reason of making them all they same, they definitely need to use less milk to give the shakes and malts a thicker consistency. Also, they only used a small amount of malt flavoring in mine. I could not tell the difference between my malt and my daughters shake.Overall we were slightly disappointed with our ice cream treats considering the other good reviews and overall star rating of this The Chocolate Chisel ice cream.

Cmon Man! Who doesnt like specialty handmade small batches of chocolates?! They also make their own ice cream. Sundaes, shakes etc... My son LOVES this place! He often walks or rides his bike there in the spring/summer. This business also offers a punch card after so many $s spent/punches you receive a certain $ amount of free product in return. My son takes FULL advantage of this option. 😁

Wow! These guys know what they’re doing! My mom and I stopped in for a quick treat and were happily surprised at the quality and level of chocolate art! Hand made ice cream in classic and unique flavors to die for, gorgeous pro chocolates that I’ve mostly only seen in NYC, and Truly Professional Customer Service! These guys are clearly determined to continue with their success as they show up dressed to serve a wonderful product with passion, pride, and kindness. A must-see if you are in Port Washington!

Dont be afraid of the prices. These truffles are 100% worth it! Not only are they beautifully crafted, but the flavors are incredible! They are worth every calorie. The ice cream is some of the best you will ever have. Overall, if you want a decadent treat, The Chocolate Chisel is the place to go.

Absolutely the best ice cream, gorgeous old fashioned ice cream parlor with lots of yummy treats. Homemade natural and healthy ice cream was so delicious and refreshing. Excellent customer service, explained all the ice creams and what they are made of and even let us sample a couple. There is seating outside or in, outside seating for children is very cute, LOVE IT !!!

They always have amazing unique flavors of ice cream. Their truffles and chocolates are made on site and feature delicious combinations. Stay and eat your snack there in their little booth or at their counter. Definitely recommend their place for am after dinner treat!

Great little ice cream/chocolate shop. They had about 12ish different flavors that are made in house. They were rolling fresh waffle cones when we were there, the person rolling them had a defective one which he happy offered us for free, so nice of them. Will definitely be returning.

Super slow service. Four allowed in store at a time understandably. Four people working but would not start on our icecream order until we paid first. But wait, I couldnt say I wanted 4 single scoop cones and pay for it, I couldnt pay until we ALL decided what icecream flavor we wanted. They wouldnt start scooping the icecream for those who knew what they wanted. So the other employees waited until we gave them the receipt with our flavors. We were the only four people in the tiny store!

The Chocolate Chisel is one of my favorite things about visiting Port Washington. I have an appreciation for the muscle it takes to scoop such fresh and delicious ice cream ( I did it as a first job), and appreciate the care thats taken by the staff. Im always impressed by the friendly relationship between the staff and regulars, and how dedicated the owners are to providing their customers with a truly gourmet experience. I recently tried the ice cream they are making in house and I LOVE it!

Let me tell you about the most magnificent chocolatier experience we’ve had. My wife and I are big travelers, having been to Europe and so many other beautiful places, stopping at the Chocolate Chisel became a lovely routine for us on a two week trip to Wisconsin. Everyday we went here and were kindly greeted by the most enthusiastic workers. The resounding, and albeit, Wisconsin accented “abbbbbsolutely!” was the friendliest term to hear when we ordered each individual chocolate. We came back darn near everyday. And now a year later in Australia we find ourselves often thinking back to it for the fun and professional atmosphere that comes with creating chocolate. You don’t marry chocolate, and to review it as if you’re in a bad relationship isn’t accurate or fair. The Chocolate Chisel clearly cares about its customers, prices things according to accuracy not profit. It’s not easy to see why a small town business like this can be frowned upon by passing tourists when this - we feel - is a critical staple to Port Washington.We will never forget this place, do yourself the favor - and go here.

Eh it tasted good but it took 20 mins for the ice cream to defrost after they told me it would take 5!!! It was a tub for scooping in the basement freezer! and it was even chocolate flavor.

Ive been here about eight or so times in the past three years. The ice cream changes often but you have the usual options (chocolate and vanilla) and interesting flavors like rosemary, root beer float, salted caramel etc... They also sell chocolates, which look like theyre streight from a shop in Belgium.07/20- Still going here every so often and theyre as good as ever.

I have bought from this place for years and have punch cards that rival no other. However, the Valentine box I bought for my wife left much to be desired. Of the 7 pieces 3 were just chocolate covered oreo cookies. If I wanted oreo cookies, I would have bought a box of them and pocketed the other $20.00 Not Happy....

High marks for presentation ... The place is very attractive and welcoming. The display of the chocolates really sells product even in spite of the exorbitant pricing. (I didnt try the ice cream although my kids loved it.) If only the execution were as good. Firstly, the service was a bit lacking. I wanted to choose a collection of the sweets and have them in a box. The clerk ignored my box request which I repeated twice and instead threw my selections into a paper bag. When they softened in the car on the way home, they stuck together, as Id figured they would. That was a bit annoying but wouldve been forgiveable if the chocolates had been amazing. Sadly, they were mediocre at best. (Frankly, Russell Stovers at the grocery store are better.) I mean, Ive had superlative handmade chocolates. This is not that. Im sure they must be using cheap ingredients. The chocolate itself is grainy, overly sweet and lacking in taste. The caramel is chewy and also too sweet. I wouldnt complain if the pricing werent so over-the-top. For five dollars per single piece I expect a five star, creamy, silky, melt-in-your-mouth taste experience. What I got wasnt even close. Next time Ill just stick to ice cream for the kids.

Exquisite chocolate! Just a warning, though--this is not casual snack food! These are elegant candies, and are priced accordingly. You can easily walk out of here having paid $30 or $40 for a moderate-sized box of candy. But its really good stuff!

The quality of the ice cream is superb with a vast array of novelty flavors to suit most connoisseurs. However the service was not friendly nor professional to visitors. I nor my family live in Port Washington but had been recommended to try this ice cream shop. One of the female employees was explicitly inpatient and bothered by our simple request for two coffees ( we had previously ordered ice cream from another employee). She was very rude in her responses and made us feel uncomfortable as if we were imposing on her time. At first we let it go thinking maybe she was having a bad day. Our order was short of a coffee so we mentioned this to her politely in which we got a nasty toned reply of I heard you the first time!. Unbelievable!Also, my family and I are bicultural and definitely felt this treatment was an issue of discrimination as the employee treated other customers politely. We made a formal complaint before we left but want to warn out of town folks about how unwelcoming this business is to non white customers.PS, employee did not apologize profusely. She was surprised that we confronted her for her rude behavior and gave us a forced apology. I think its wonderful that your establishment trains employees to treat everyone with respect but this was not displayed by this particular employee on our visit. Instead of negating or minimizing our experience it would be best to simply extend an apology and to address your employee so that this doesnt happen again. Bringing up that your employee has worked with other Hispanics is truly beside the point. Thank you for the invitation to come back but we decline at this time.

There are a lot of great chocolates; they are not cheap but the choices are excellent.

The chocolate candy call Dark chocolate peanut butter bar was awful. Hubby spit it out in the street right outside the shop, and I wondered if he was going to think as I had since eating the same candy just minutes prior. We both hated it. Sincerely terrible and the worst $ we spent in a long time. We did however enjoy their Triple Chocolate ice cream greatly. The one star is given for their homemade candy.
