Our visit occured early August 2021. You guessed it! We were school supply shopping. As a parent, this trip can be emotionally exhausting. Throw in Covid19 worries and it gets super sketchy. By the time I made it to the check out I was done. Our cashier Craig was amazing. His kindness and proficiency immediately eased me. This review isnt really for Target, but for Craig and all the people out there doing their job with the best of attitudes. Definitely 5 stars. He changed my whole mood in just one transaction. Three days before Easter, my husband and I decided we wanted to get our son a bike. I called around to Walmart in Three Rivers, Sturgis and I also looked on Amazon; there were a few choices, but the price range was way out of our budget. I got online for the Portage Target and found the perfect bike. I called up there, and I spoke with a gentleman. I think his name was Chris; he went above and beyond to look for this bike I found online. The staff was so kind and told me that they had it in stock, would put it together for me, and I could come and pick it up the next day. All that was involved in this process, a big THANK YOU! You went above and beyond when most wouldn’t; you are much appreciated.

The customer services in the store is not good at all, I asked for an item was on the app an employee didn’t look on the back or check inventory just look at me and told me, “ what you see is we have “ I had similar scenario in different store same situation online order and I had great service, but this particular location is always have bad employees or lazy ! Tonight I saw 7 customers walking around not wearing their masks. Several of whom were teenagers so I cant imagine theyve been vaccinated. They werent wearing their masks while checking out so I know employees werent enforcing the mask mandate. Im immunocompromised so I felt incredibly uncomfortable. Very disappointing. I will definitely hesitate before returning to this store.

I come in here a lot! From clothes to groceries to electronics. I dont think I have had a bad experience here yet. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful! The bathrooms could be a little cleaner at times.

Ready for pick up text came early; the pickup area was near the door; no line! I hope this practice remains in place even when the pandemic is crushed. This system especially during future holidays would increase the likelihood of me buying locally at my Target instead of ordering it through Amazon.

Called 4 times at 12:30 PM and no one answers the guest service phone. Absolutely ridiculous. Getting as bad as Walmart.

Finally found the product l was looking for. Sign information l didnt see any. Got a damaged box hoping for a discount for being damaged. A nice guy said no problem rang me up and his cordless payment device was not working. So another guy rang me up at a resistor and no discount.

They have two aisles of iPhone cases but no other brand. They sell only one type of VR hardware. Most of the demo stations for speakers, headphones, etc do not work. Prices are seldom the lowest I can find, and many things are missing price tags

I ordered two items online for in-store pickup in 2 hours. Received an email that order was complete and ready for pickup. Arrive at store and am handed bag containing my purchase with an Youre all set! I open the bag and see only 1/2 of the items ordered. When I ask front desk they say, Well, we dont have any way of knowing what the truck will deliver when. Huh? I ordered this 2 hours ago, your website said you had it, I got a confirmation that you had it, but now youre handing me a bag (without even looking at the contents OR my ID, which contains only half my order. Inventory control is not to be trusted at this store. Once I walked myself back to the baby department to find my OWN replacement article, I also discovered they entire towel/robe baby section was empty but for 4 items (3 after I took one). 1. DONT shop pickup in store. 2. Always check your bag before you leave. 3. Be prepared to wait while the front desk calls 3 people and finally walks you back to the section YOURSELF, to pick something else out. Target, you never fail to disappoint. Again, it will be another 8 months before I go there. Maybe by then it will be better.

Verity of items in the household department

I have always enjoyed my shopping experience at my Target. Lately the last 6 months the line control has me perplexed. Take today I was told i could move to another lane which was quicker.. I told her I was fine but got scolded to move to keep lanes moving. So I did and watched the 2 people behind me get checked out before I even got started. I was even ignored to get quick checked as I didnt have a huge order. I get trying to be helpful but not thrilled with being snapped at.

Major lack of customer service, commitment and follow through.

I dont know why they put these big bins in the middle of the Isles so that customers have to continually move around them and jostle to avoid other shoppers. Nobody really cares that much about cotton balls. Really. Next time perhaps dont order so many or keep your overstock snafus in your office?

I wanted to share my experience with a team member at the Target Portage store on Friday, May 3. I had placed an online order for an item that was to be available for pick up on 5/3. By the afternoon, I still had not received my item. After speaking with Sara (could be Sarah - I forgot to ask on the spelling), she was going to search for the item and asked to place me on a brief hold. She checked in every 5 or so minutes to let me know she was still looking for the item. After about 15 minutes, she had not found the item but was determined to continue searching for it. She took down my number to call me back as she did not want to keep me holding. Sara(h) called me back to let me know she verified with corporate that the item was delivered on 5/1, but was still searching for it. She asked if she could call me back later in the evening, but before 8:30pm when her shift ended. I received another call from Sara(h), and they had not found the item. She knew how important it was for me to have the item before Saturday so she offered to substitute the item with a comparable one. She even offered to price match it for me. I want to recognize her on the exemplary customer service she provided. Not only did she search for my item for multiple hours, but she offered a solution when the item was not found. I come from a customer service background and if I had an employee like Sara(h), I would want her recognized. It is hard to come by employees that dedicated to customer service. Please make sure she is recognized for her service and give that girl a raise!!!!!!!!!

Excellent customer service

I was there last night with a group of 18 and a very nice associate named Dave was there to help us in the toy department. Carter who checked us all out was also very nice and personable. These two were rockstars. They made shopping during the busy holiday season an amazing experience.

I don’t usually shop at Target but today (June 13, 2020) something happened that changed my mind. It was about 10:45 am when I walked out of my local Portage store, and I was happily toting my 2 boxes of Pepsi Cola. I’d been on a long quest to find them ever since they were discontinued at my usual grocery store, and finally!! I had my Pepsi Cola... until one of the boxes slipped out of my hand and all the soda fell and exploded. But as luck would have it, there were 2 Target team members sitting on the bench outside, presumably on their break, and both immediately jumped up to help me. (I was panicking and didn’t have the foresight to catch their names, but both were brown-haired women and I’m about 30% sure one of them was called Rita.) Anyway, they were happy to help me during their lunch break (from my own time working in retail I can tell you that people who will do that are rare) and it really made my day. Target, if you find out who they are, PROMOTE THEM IMMEDIATELY. Bye Meijer! Bye Costco! Thanks to those 2 people I will be returning to Target.

I love Target stores, I am certain to find what Im looking for and/or amazing deals during every visit. I may not suggest this specific store to people I know that demand a full grocery department. Even though this specific store wasnt a super store, the grocery section was surprisingly larger than I anticipated.

Bought a new TV stand. The guy helped me get it from the shelf and into my car. They even have a mobile scanner and printer you can pay with a card on so we didnt have to go to the cashier!

Everything was organized and easy to find making the trip faster.

We love our Portage, MI Target. The staff is always very friendly and helpful! I enjoy the merchandise selection!

We rarely go to Target. Normally, we are very satisfied, but this last trip was a total disappointment. In the past we went there because we carry Consumer Cellular and we got excellent service. This time the phone guru wasnt there, and the woman who was attempting to fill in didnt know what she was talking about. Fortunately, I checked the Internet rather than taking her word. We would have been better served, if she would have simply said, Sorry, the regular rep isnt here today, please try tomorrow.

This target location is the cleanest, most organized location I have visited. Several staff members were around and asking if they could help. There was also an area in the kids/baby section with a sofa and some side tables that was for the convenience of nursing mothers, its fantastic to see this in a store!

Was standing at the electronics department waiting for someone to help me for approximately 7-8 minutes. All the while I noticed a younger lady standing off to the side playing on her phone, what made me notice her was the fact that she kept looking at use standing there. It wasnt until I hit the call for help button that she finally put her phone away and walked over to turn off the call button (with attitude) only to give us more attitude when asking us what we needed. By this point I was ready to leave until a young man whom i spome with earlier on the phone came around the corner and helped us instead. He was much more professional and extremely helpful.

Very helpful employees. Young woman at checkout helped me open my account on Target app as it said there were spaces in my name and there werent. FYI, she backspace at end of my first name and it opened.

Nice and well maintained. Friendly staff and plenty of items to pick. Large parking lot and close to other restaurants and shopping places.

My order was ready within minutes of placing it. The minute I stepped out of the car the store associate was already crossing the parking lot with it. Everything I ordered was in stock and correctly filled. It saves me time and most importantly energy - I ordered a lot of heavy stuff and I suffer from a chronic illness so doing that heavy shopping is very difficult for me. The drive-up service is really a Godsend for somebody struggling with disabilities and illness!

I would give Target five stars except I really miss those great plastic bags they used to have. Its the small things, Target, really it is. :)

I was at the store this weekend. The bathroom was disgusting. Excrement spread everywhere over one stall, 2 stalls clogged and overfull. The store itself was cluttered and disorganized. Merchandise was overflowing in piles ar least 7 feet high in front of checkout. I dropped my card and tried to call the store after I left. No one answered any phone in any department for over an hour so I ended up having to drive all the way back there for nothing.

Tried calling the store to discuss an issue I had and the phone rang so long that it hung up on me . I tried different extensions and never reached anyone. Need to revisit some customer service goals for sure .

Usually well stocked and comparably priced. The manager is super helpful and friendly. But it can be a bit unkept.

Employees were very helpful. I needed to exchange to shirts for a different size and they went out of their way to help me find t he shirts I needed.

The employees in the back working near electronics were very friendly and accommodating, I came to buy a PlayStation camera, on the website it was 39.48+ tax, in store it was 42.99, they honored the sale and went smooth..in and out in 5 minutes.

I came in to get some Christmas gifts for my grandson and we found a good selection of baby clothes that were on sale and other items that we could load him up with. The store was clean and we were able to check out fairly quickly.

First time using online ordering and in store pickup. NEVER received call/test for pickup. Had to call and was informed that target was having computer problems. Picked up order and when opening at home found that target has sold me a USED item. Not all parts were there. Tried to return next day but could not as the order was not available. WORST experience for online order, in store pickup. Now I have to make a second trip to return a USED item. UPDATE: A manager from Target called me to apologize about the incident.

Use the pharmacy and they always give me great service. Its never really busy and staff is very nice and helpful.

Very nice..its not exactly clean and organized. Also dont trust online stock or out of stock, just go in and check if its stock because I check online it says out of stock but in store its in stock, wont hurt to go and check in store ;)
