Went in with little hopes of getting a car. No credit, no cosigner, and only a little money down but I walked out with a trusty little car and I couldnt be happier. Thank you Emery for helping me find such a great car for my first! I definitely got lucky but this place is great and so are the staff. Would definitely recommend checking online for car availability but this place is great and will help you (in my experience).
I am a veteran of 12 years and I must say that it is a rare occasion that anyone ever shows or does something for me or my family. It was so heart warming when GMC harbor was willing to help my family get back on the road again. It is sometimes hard to find a trustful dealer to either buy a car from or to work on your vehicle but GMC harbor is one that you can trust for all your needs. And be sure that they will take care of those who have defended our country. Thank you Rick, Cameron, and all others at GMC harbor.
I recently purchased a 2014 GMC Sierra from Harbor. The sales rep (Dale Dodge) treated me well as did the entire staff. The entire approach was low pressure and just an all around pleasant experience. I didnt exactly steal the vehicle from the dealership but I think the price was fair. One area I think they can work on is offering some perks when you buy the vehicle such as oil changes or something.Unfortunately a week after purchasing the vehicle I found a major issue with the steering. Its an intermittent problem making it difficult for the service guys to diagnose. That process has gone well too. My vehicle is under manufacturers warranty. They offered me a loaner vehicle and began work on mine right away. The communication between the service writer and myself was better than expected as well. Although I had to take the vehicle back a second time (like I said, intermittent problems are tough to diagnose) I received the same level of service.Overall, Im pretty pleased. This is the second vehicle Ive purchased from Harbor in Portage and I wouldnt hesitate to do it again.
We bought a new Buick Encore. Its red and its wonderful. Its luxurious, peppy, compact but it feels big. Yet, it is maneuverable and gets ridiculously great mileage. Most of all, I love the dealership. What great people and what a great deal! Harbor is awesome for sales and service!
Harbor Buick GMC is the best! Kenny, Emery, and the rest of the team take great care of you. Ive bought 3 vehicles from Harbor over the years and they always make it easy for me. Great customer service and personal attention! Keep up the great work!
Excellent Service and extra polite!! Very clean and courteous...went there for a couple of complicated questions; and me and my 76 year old Mom were perplexed about Insured deductibles and the coverage for car rentals....Nicole/ Had explained every detail at ease and calmly for my Mother nice and slow. Very Good Customer Support Harbor Buick-- Thank You.
I have been dealing with Emery Kostelnik for some time. He sold me my last car and very much enjoy his professionalism. He talked my wife through all of the electronics and answered all of her questions in a friendly and polite manner. Your service department is first rate. I always enjoy my visits to the dealership. The true sign of a great dealership is when they take in a car they did not sell and treat it like one they did. I will be Back !
I would recommend Harbor Buick,GMC Service Department in Portage Indiana because they not only fix my car but Mr Monte is a Wonderful and Understanding person. He understands our need. Never had a problem with Harbor Service. Thank You Guys!
I had my check engine light come on a few hours after an oil change here at Harbor Buick only for it to come on again the same day after servicing. On my 3rd visit, I had to leave my vehicle here for 4 days only to be told that they needed a part ordered because it was coincidentally a GM issue. The part was supposed to get to the dealership within 10 days so they could finally fix my car, and its been over a month. Still no call or voicemail to keep me updated. Now I will have to find a different dealership to correct their mistake.
Was informed my tire monitor light was on due to having a low air in tire, due to a nail in tire. Asked how much to fix $30. Fixed tire. Sensor still on. Monty wanted to argue with me that I declined service. Not true. Complained to cashier who didnt appear to care. DO NOT USE SERVICE CENTER. MONTY WILL CON YOU OUT OF $$. Also tire barn will fix a nail in tire for free.
Completely Disgusted with this dealership!! DO NOT PURCHASE ANY VEHICLES FROM THEM!On Sept 12, 2017, I drove from Fort Wayne, Indiana to purchase a 2014 Chevy Impala from them. Mike in sales is who I worked with. Upon test driving the vehicle, it drove and road smoothly however the radio kept turning on and off. The salesman then tried to convince me that the car was equipped with a shut off mechanism that turns the radio off when it gets too hot. Really...Really? I insisted that he have the radio serviced and he agreed he would. While it was being serviced, I took my mother to lunch. I come back and Mike the salesman assures me the radio has been serviced. I finalize the paperwork and we attempt to leave. I got less than 2 miles away and the radio went out again and now more radio issues begin. I called Mike and tell him I am bringing it back. He tells me to bring it around to service so I do...When I am checking into service, the men in service have me explain to them the issue and I did. I explained to them that Mike told me it was already serviced before I left and the service men looked at me and state they havent seen the car for any radio concerns but they will take a look at it. We waited around about an hour and service told us we would have to leave the car there to be fixed......They gave a me loaner and I went on my way disappointed 2 1/2 hours back to Fort Wayne. It took 6 days to fix the minor radio issue. The salesman made an agreement that he would bring me my car to Fort Wayne and pick up the loaner car.The salesman met me at my work(9/18/2017) and took the loaner car back to the dealership. I got off work about 2 hours later and I got about 3 blocks from my job and my car begins to jerk and whine as if the transmission or engine were acting up(Like the car wasnt in the proper gear). It also wasnt accelerating or decelerating properly either. I immediately contact the salesman and he claims it was fine for him(of course you would say that). He then states he will have someone come pick it up the next day and have it fixed. The next day rolls around and he tells me they arent going to help me and to take it to the nearest Chevy dealership....Wait...what? So what happened to my car between having the radio serviced and the salesman driving it to me????? MY CAR RAN FINE BEFORE!!!! The salesman tried to insult my intelligence by asking me if I had my car in drive or manual. Really??? WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY CAR??? You mess up my car and then leave it on me to fix? PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND JUST BAD BUSINESS ALL AROUND. Is this how you treat your hardworking customers and disabled Veterans? Yes, I am a disabled Veteran and the salesman even knew that. This is how you show your appreciation to the men and women that served our country?? Disgusting.
Mike is a great asset to your company. Kind, understanding, patient, meets your needs. Fin is awesome, everyone here at Harbor Buick and GMC all have one desire...make customer happy.
I was in to diagnose a problem with the vehicle running on after shutting down the engine. I was provided a loaner for nearly three days, thanks to the Sales Manager.I appreciate that he understood I could not be without my vehicle. When I picked up the repaired vehicle, it was immaculate. Cleaned inside and out. Again, thanks to the Sales Manager. Thanks, Ken.
One of the best, nicest car dealerships Ive ever been in. The sales staff is friendly. They helped me with a problem I had syncing up my phone to my bluetooth that had me stumped, and even helped my friend, who didnt even buy his car from there! That tells me that they care more about PEOPLE than money - the way a business SHOULD! I will continue to do business with Harbor for as long as there is a Harbor to do business with.
Took my 2012 Buick Lacrosse in for the second time - trouble with the trunk, a flaw in the 2012 Buick Lacrosse . However, the staff at Harbor are always very accommodating and kind. Always keep me up to date on the progress with the car. Great service!!Diana
Very good place for an oil change. Oil change includes tire rotation, inspection and more. Cant find it any cheaperVery fast when you have a appointment.
I recently leased a car from Harbor. Their process was quick and I got a great deal.A few weeks ago my brand new car was hit in a parking lot. Insurance covered the damage and Harbor quoted me a week to replace the entire passenger side door. They got the work done on time and I am I very happy with the work they did.Their new C.D.E. shop that did the work did an exceptional job and Nicoles customer service was phenomenal.Bonnie from service also did my oil change while it was the shop and saved me the hassle of coming back later.Overall, Harbor is a great place to buy or service your car.
Rick the sales manager there was probably the rudest person Ive ever spoken with at a car dealership. I tried to speak with him over the phone and he cut me off in the middle of my sentence and then hung up the phone very quickly on me. I dont know how everyone else attitudes are that work there but if they are all like Ricks than i would never shop there for a car even if I were walking 3 miles a day to work.
My husband and I were treated very well, even though we didnt buy a car. Now were almost ready, thats where we are going. Best customer satisfaction we experienced in a long time. Its just not customer service, its customer satisfaction.
Bad business in parts dept.Huge fail on providing info on cost.HUGE.Youll find out when you go pick up your items.
While some have had good experiences at Harbor Buick, I believe that the negative experiences that my friends and I have had here far outweigh the positives. We were ignored, belittled and indirectly lied to. It was exactly the buying experience we were looking to avoid. While not all car salesmen fit the negative stereotype, some sales people and office staff uphold the poor reputation. Buying a car is hard enough, dont waste your time and money interacting with these people.
Had a great experience with Ric Wampner and his team in service. They were able to get me in and out for my Oil Change & Tire Rotation. Always a pleasure, and thanks guys!!!!
Completely satisfied.i never went into google before and when I did I didnt leave a comment. I didnt notice the stars for rating. sorry, I am always satisfied with your work.
It was very relaxing and everyone was very helpful. We do all our business there. Dale and all the crew do everything possible to get things done.
Very helpfully with the question I asked, great employs who are people persons, love dealing with them
I bought A new vehicle on Wednesday and when I went back on Monday to retrieve things out of my old vehicle someone had took it upon himself to still them. One of them being a necklace the Hong on my mirror of ashes of my son am they act like it was no big deal treated me horrible because they stole that treated me horrible because they let someone in my truck the truck regally was still mine until I sign the title today at 5 oclock well I ever shop at Harbor then no the general manager there Was very very rude and salemen didnt very much care that Someone had stole out of my vehicle. Call the Portage police on me because they stole out of my vehicle and then the general manager just so happened to find my sons necklace in the garbage can now if we believe that the garbage can in had not been emptied in 5 days all my other bolognas wouldve been in the garbage can as well I will never stop as super Harbor
We took our son to Harbor to purchase a vehicle. Rick and Ken worked with us looking at several vehicles for 2 days. They worked with my son and found him a truck that he is very happy with! Thank you!
Mike my sales person. Great guy, very patient and goes that x-tra mile. Hey Mike!
I really like how the people at Harbor take care of there customers I bought my pickup there in 08 new and have been going back there for oil changes and what ever else comes up Harbor takes good care of the customers and I will keep going back to them THANK Harbor for and outstanding job you all do.
This place will con you if they have the chance. go in with what you want at the top of your mind and do not believe anything they say ( even the managers ). just to point a few things out... Brian M. and tommy little work for the company and have posted reviews on here and you guessed it top reviews. No laws against it and Im sure they would be the first to tell you. there are some decent sales staff there, but ask alot of questions and you will see the truth for yourself.
My service on my Canyon was excellent, timely and professional. Very happy with the Harbor dealership.Thank you.
Monte my service advisor was very understanding and very helpful when I brought my Terrain back in for an issue.
The oil change was fast. I was in and out in about 30 minutes but my chassis on my truck wasnt greased.
Had an appointment with Dale to buy my wife a new Acadia, when we got there he tried to sell us something other than we had told him we wanted, lied about having the vehicle there and he did not accompany us on the test drive, I guess he expected us to sell ourselves. They do not have a large enough inventory. This was a waste of time and a very unpleasant experience. I would not recommend going here
Great deals on great cars. The service department is fast and reliable.
Very friendly sales team and good service department
Quality cars, friendly staff makes car buying easy no pressure
Wow, stopped in to look at a car and the sale guy came out with in a minute, ask if I was buying, I told him I was looking and wanted to know if I could look inside this car. His response was Just keep looking through the windows like you were and then he lite up a cigarette and walked back to the dealership. So yeah Ill take my business somewhere else.
THEIFS!! Bullys girls!Told my girlfriend to take car in for a scan (abs light)took it in took the guy 5 minutes to scan and find the wire that was being rubbed by the tire. Said yea thats an easy fix no problem my girlfriend asked if he could order the part so she could install it and save some on the labor because he told her he costs 350 an hour, The tech immediately got upset and asked if she didnt trust his craftsmanship and why she came to insult him. Feeling pressured she agreed to have the work done i then later went to drop her off so she could pick up her car and I looked at the bill and saw misc charges i asked the guy and he told me its for rags and brakes cleaner and stuff.I was confused but I didnt know where the part was at the time so i let it be. When we got home she showed me the old part and where he did the work. So i googled the part.... $46.68 delivered to my door...AmazonIts a 2 conductor wire that to install you have to turn the wheel all the way left and you can easily access it with out even putting it on a liftone screw holds the wire and a wire clip.. she was charged $240So i went to harbor buick gmc to talk to the service manager(Rich or Rick) After i told him everything he asked me what i wanted him to do about it. I said make it right you over charged her for the part(they charged $98) and the labor $118 for something that takes 15 minutes he replied thats what she agreed to. I said maybe your techs shouldnt bully customers. I will talk with my tech later he replied I dont know what you want man. Then i asked about the Misc shop charge.Well thats for shop towels brake cleaner lights you know. No? I dont know! You didnt use any rags or brake cleaner on my car sounds like Im paying for your overhead well everyone pays that why? I asked how do you expect us the keep this place open? Maybe all the parts you you sell for 200% of your cost?????After that I walked away I could see this was going no where.***Yes they gave me a diagnosis and i would have gladly paid for that but when some one asks hey is this something maybe i can do? and you get snotty with them and make them feel pressured to have the work done that any 6th grader could do... In my eyes that aint right... we still would have bought the part from them.. and she would have came home and installed in just as well if not better. For 49.99 diagnosis and 98.00 for the part $147.99 she could have put it on her self a learned something new.So at the end of the day Ive learned a lesson and Harbor Buick gmc has lost a customer. I hope this helps everyone. do your research.
We recently purchased a buick ENCORE,and I must say thatit rides and drives great ! ! ! HARBOR BUICK YOU ROCK !!!
Ken and Joe were amazing they really gone to extreme lengths to get my deal done, thank-you so much. I will be back when we get my wifes new vehicle
Service comparable to other oil change facilities. Long wait. Bad coffee. Price about the same as other dealers.
Was there because my Acadia that hasnt even had an oil change yet had its second issue/defect. Manager was rude and basically tried to make it seem like it was no big deal. Tried to talk me out of them having them fix it because as he said I can change it, but it might just happen again. (My tail light wasnt sealed and was getting condensation in it.) Was pretty obvious once I saw an invoice that they just didnt want to fix the issue because of the cost. (Almost $700 just for the part)
Place is a rip-off had my Pontiac gto worked on there, transmission issues (hydroclutch stuff) anyways they had my tranny apart and told me I need this that and the other I replace a couple thing and then the third time they call and say my clutch was completely destroyed and that I should replace it......4 years later still the same clutch 22k miles later. Crooks! Needless to say Ive never ever gone back
Its great. Im here now. 😬
I get my oil changed here. Monte is very helpful and very pleasant!
To make a very long story short the workers ( from the people that check your car in Dale,to the manager Rick, to the Head manager Brian) are very rude and unprofessional. Ive been told this by others but had never experienced it until about 2 weeks ago. I had to end up calling the corporate office before this situation got resolved and even then the head manager Brian was arrogant and rude. When I was trying to explain the situation to him he wouldnt even hear me out. He basically told me it was pointless to call corporate because theyre just going to call him and hes going to be the one to handle it. After multiple phone calls I finally received an apology from the manager but it was like pulling teeth. Dont go here if you dont have to.
This must be the worst dealer in Northwest Indiana. I had seen a truck online to purchase and the price was listed online with all the rebates that I qualified for except for one . I contacted The sales department and he advised me the price was right that was online to come on in and he will get me in the truck. So my wife and myself spent two hours at the dealer from test driving to finance to them making excuses what the delay was . The finance guy comes out and gives me a price of about $7000 more than what it was online . He tried to tell me the rebates apply to lease only . I advised him thats not what it says online and I also know the rebates the GMC was offering at that time . Ive been invites him I had a military discount to code to use that was given to me by GM which is a significant discount. He advised me that I cannot apply a military discount because there were already rebates and I was getting a USAA discount which was $500. I advised him that GM specifically told me that my discount can be used with rebates and my discount was about $5000 on top of rebates . He then began to make up excuses and said he will be right back, and at that time my wife and I walked out and never look back . My advice to anyone using a military discount at this dealer is to build your own vehicle and have the dealer order it so you know youre getting a fair deal . This dealer will tell you they take military discount code but in my case that never happened. GM sets the rebates, along with certain banks that will offer rebates like Ally, So if you dare go this dealer, make sure you know the rebates that GMC or Buick are offering. I went to Schepel Buick GMC after I left there, and was in and out in about one hour . Their sales and finance people were super super nice, I set the pace and there was no sales tactics like at this dealer. My advice to you is to look up the reviews of this dealer and Schepel Buick GMC and you will see what I mean. I contacted GM corporate office to complain about this nasty dealer and a manager from the dealer was supposed to contact me and never did to this day. GM advised me they even agreed this was beyond poor customer service. I cant forget the time when I went in to purchase a mudflap for my truck, and the accessory guy acted like I was a burden asking him certain questions . He was very short and his response to almost every question was I dont know. The only positive of this dealer is the service department which is not that bad but because of their poor accessory person and sales dept and fiancé person, I was turned off by this dealer along with a few my friends who own GMCs. If you want a very Pleasant and hasslefree buying experience and pretty quick also, I would recommend Schepel. Again I do not endorse Schepel, I am going off experience . If youre a Active duty military, vet, or even someone that supports the military, screw this place. I mean come on, if GM recognizes military with a pretty good discount and this dealer blows smoke up your ass about a discount they say cant be used, that just goes to show what type of people they are. This discount was thousands of dollars also . I pull into Schepel and I had three different people from three different departments thank me for my service and these people were not even included in my sale. And they went above and beyond to give me the best deal including Trade in. Again I was in and out of this dealer in about one hour with a full tank of gas and $100 speedway gift card. Harbor, you lost about $128,000 of business from my vehicle, to my wifes new vehicle, to my friends new vehicle. And I will continue to talk my family and friends from going to your horrible dealer. Stay motivated
My wife decided she wanted a 2014 GMC Terrain Denali FWD in white and she located one at Harbor GMC. I called the dealership and asked a few questions and made an appointment with the salesman for the following evening with my wife to likely purchase the car. He said it was his off day but gave me his cell phone number and said if I called him and gave him 30 minutes notice he would head to the dealership and have the vehicle pulled up and ready for us. That same evening my wife called the dealership to get pre approved for the purchase, also informing the finance person which vehicle we wanted. Fast forward to the next day. I called the salesman two hours before our scheduled appointment time to confirm our meeting. No response so I called him again on our drive to the dealership. Still no response. My wife and I walked into the dealership to inform another member of the sales team that we had an appointment with a particular salesman and finance manager to purchase the specific car. We were promptly informed that the vehicle was gone. It was out being demod by another sales person and they were not willing to call her to bring the car back so they could sell us the $35000 car. Frustrated, my wife and I turned to leave and my wife said I cant believe we drove an hour to get here and arranged for a babysitter to deal with this crap. This will make an awesome Google review. A young salesperson said Go Ahead. We Will Just Delete Your Review Anyway. My wife replied Actually you wont. I make a living on the internet and know you cannot delete reviews. She walked out of the dealership and as she did the young man uttered whatever b1tch. After informing the salesperson it was not a good idea to talk to my wife like that, I walked out. Harbor Buick GMC is easily the worst car dealership in northwest Indiana. They will lie to you, waste your time and insult you all with a smile on their face.
Very knowledgeable, quick service, good price.
Harbor in Portage is a company of crooks. They force you to purchase the optional extras that your finance company does not actually require. Then, when you find out they screwed you over and try to rectify the situation, they will deny everything and refuse to hold up to their end of the written contract. Their used car manager, Jim, will evade all of your questions, refuse to help you, and will cause you nothing but trouble. I advise all of you to find the vehicle you want somewhere else.
Great service and a great deal!
We have brought two cars from Harbor and have serviced three cars there. One of the best service departments we have used.
Went in to get an oil change and tire rotation done on my 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, everything went well until about 2 weeks later when a someone driving along the side of me on the road told me my back driver side tire was wobbling. Took it home and tighten the tire, decide to take it back to Harbor the following Monday and have them double check all my lug nuts and turns out all four of my tires had loose lug nuts. Then the mechanic tried to blame my aftermarket rims and lug nuts for the issue.
Very very poor no star .from me i would not send no one there.they lie and steal
Got great service from our salesman Mike Joseph here at Harbor. Stop in and see him for a great experience without pushy sales pitches or stalking!
Great service and put up with me acting like a spoiled brat while waiting on FedEx to arrive with the check for my new car
