Paula is a great jeweler. I inherited some pieces that weren’t my style and I brought them to her at Gem Set Love and got back 3 pieces I love. I wear them everyday. I had no clue how to proceed and she patiently listened to my meanderings about simplistic and classic styles and came up with 3 new settings that were perfect. I love perusing their vintage styles as well and will invest in some more pieces in the near future!

I bought a gorgeous strand of vintage pearls from Gem Set Love, online. I just love them! I ended up having an issue with the clasp, probably because of the age of the strand of pearls. Anyway, I reached out to Paula and she got back to me right away. She immediately had me return the pearls (at no cost to me) to repair the clasp. Once I got the strand back it started acting up again. Once again, I reached out to Paula to let her know. She immediately responded to me and had me return the pearls again (again at no cost to me). She went above and beyond by finding a new (and equally beautiful) vintage clasp for my pearls. Once she found it and fixed the strand she returned them to me. I was so pleased to have them back. The new clasp is both beautiful and very durable so everything worked out great! Paula was a delight to work with. She really cares about her product and her customers. That was evident to me in all my dealings with her. I wish the entire world would operate their businesses the way Paula does. The world would be a much happier and easier place!

I saw a BEAUTIFUL 1940s engagement ring on their website, and quickly inquired 1) if it could be plated in rose gold and 2) could I put it on hold. I got very quick replies from Paula (at 9pm to boot!!) to both 1) they COULD but it was not recommended, and the reasons as to why, and 2) all items are first-come-first-served. I was really happy with how rapid the responses were, and as soon as my partner and I had a day off work together, we got there ASAP to look at the ring. We were in love on the spot and bought it! They offer one free re-sizing, so we couldnt pick it up for about a week. No biggie... he took 5 more weeks to propose ;) Anyway... I remember thinking, this ring is insanely sparkly because they have the lighting set up just so to show it off HOWEVER... no, this ring is the freaking sparkliest thing Ive ever seen! I have had constant compliments and I couldnt be more in love with both the ring and the beautiful man who gave it to me. If you want something original and unique, shop here!

Took my best friend engagement ring shopping here a few years ago after having a very negative experience elsewhere and they were so nice. When it came time to find a wedding band for my fiancé it was a no brainer to come here, engaging and friendly they helped us find a beautiful vintage band that they engraved in house for us.

I went into a lot of jewelry stores in Portland to ask about resizing a family ring. I was in kind of dirty from gardening and most places weren’t particularly kind or attentive. Gem Set Love was different. They were relaxed, kind, engaging, extremely educated and thoughtful. During this process I was actually vetting a place to make an engagement ring. Gem Set Love made my perfect engagement ring. It’s beautiful and exactly what I wanted but didn’t know how to articulate. Since, I have had several friends buy antique engagement rings and wedding bands from them and everyone has been extremely happy. So in love with this place!

This is my all time favorite jewelry store. My husband and I were able to make a custom wedding ring for him. Hammered rose gold and wow it turned out stunning.I also had my eye on one of the gorgeous rose gold crescent moon necklaces that my husband surprised me with one day. It’s a very dainty chain and I wear it every day and most times don’t take it off to sleep or shower and to be honest I’m surprised and impressed that that chain hasn’t broken.The staff is wonderful and very helpful and friendly. I will absolutely purchase from them in the future and would recommend them to everyone.

I ran in here quickly a few hours before I got married on I just needed a hair comb for my half up do.The staff were soo fast and friendly. I got the sweetest hair comb from the 1960s it looked great in and was perfect for my wedding.Thank you folks for making my husband and I day special!!!

This is it. This place has to be it. Thats what I said after seeing all the reviews. After much disappointment in shopping the major diamond dealers of America, my boyfriend and I finally decided to google a few places that would be more our style, comfort and budget: Antiques. I was so excited when I found Gilt in my home city and even more thrilled when I saw their 5 star rating!! Out of many many reviews! As I sat there on my bed reading through one joyous review after another, I couldnt help but think: This is it. This place has to be it. We scheduled the date to go shopping and went ONLY to Gilt that day. And within 20 minutes-I had my engagement ring bought and paid for! It was the very first ring I tried on and I am falling more and more in love with it every single day, if thats even possible!!! Its gorgeous. I cant wait to go back for the bands! Vintage jewelry experts!I learned so much on my trip in here. I am kind of a jewelry nerd and so for me to get such depth and examples of amazing work, I was impressed.It is not often that a visit to a store has me googling stuff for weeks after. Also, the quality of the pieces is upper end. What you see are the extremely nice works of the styles of that era.I saw plenty of lower quality versions while learning more. That means the price tags on the items in the shop are legit.

We purchased our wedding bands here yesterday! There are so many beautiful pieces in the store and the sales associate we worked with was super helpful and not pushy at all. I took a while to decide what went best with my vintage engagement ring and luckily found a ring from a similar era. My fiancé tried on several band and his decision was also easy. I was glad that we could buy our bands in one place together. The prices were all pretty good as well.

Our first visit was exceptional, having been greeted warmly and feeling at ease to browse and discuss our needs, so we left with a good feeling and a better understanding of what we wanted. A week later, thinking highly of the place, we returned with an intention to buy two rings, but were greeted by a different employee who rushed us and made us feel unwelcome. This was highly off-putting and they lost our sale.

Definitely not what I expected. My (now) fiancee came here first to look at rings. They were pretty dismissive, rude, and distracted while helping him. I came later to look at rings and felt rushed. I vaguely knew what I wanted, and this might have conveyed that I wasnt really going to buy anything, but I expected to be helped along in the process and I did not receive that treatment. I thought that picking out a ring would be an exciting process but I didnt feel very valued as a customer here. I think a lot of people come into this store because it is on Pearl Street and try rings on for kicks and giggles, and perhaps that is why they were so unhelpful, but it kinda came off as pretentious and rude. Luckily, I went down the street to Antoinettes, and now I have the perfect ring on my finger.

This place is cool for unique jewerly. The prices are reasonable and the selection is lovely. The staff if really friendly.

As a long time collector I visited this shop several times because they carry much of the same costume jewelry that I collect. While they had beautiful things, I found their prices to be much, much higher than I pay elsewhere and felt uncomfortable in the shop. The customer service felt very reluctant each time and not warm or welcoming.

The staff here are really helpful, professional, and understand the precious value of antiques and jewelry. We have been coming here for over 6 years, and they will continue to be our go-to for anything jewelry in the Portland area forever.

Friendly staff, welcoming interior, and good selection, but very high prices due to the upscale touristy neighborhood. With a little legwork you can find similar items elsewhere for less.
