Great service amazing people would recommend to all mercedes drivers

I own a Smart Car and was referred to MBI by the previous owner. For this auto’s specific needs, MBI has provided excellent all around service since I took ownership. On my last oil change, Kim met me out front adhering to socially distant protocols and made the hand off of my service appointment a smooth one. Brandon reviewed my auto’s current and upcoming needs based off of their thorough records. The final bill was even lower than the estimate! I couldn’t recommend MBI more for one’s Smart Car needs.

Spotless! MBI has been working on my cars and my familys cars for decades. They are the very best value and dont try to milk your wallet. My cars are always done on time and given back to me in spotless condition. Kevin, Brandon and the rest of the team are extremely knowledgeable and professional. They agreed to change out the part they tried selling me a few other things I didnt need if I wasnt a car guy Id be out 1400 instead of 730 they found the part for 675 and I found the same part 180 and got it to them same day they wouldve gotten the part. Some reason my trunk was gone trough and all the stuff inside was just tossed back in and it pushed in in the middle of my sub and even covered my Amp. all in all good shop just be firm if you know what needs to be done. and clean out your car so nothing can be tossed around Personally never gonna use a shop again but if I did Id probably still go with this one.

Ive used them for several repairs thru the years. More recently I had them perform an extensive front suspension rebuild/replacement of worn parts. A couple of complications resulted - none were the result of their work - that required some follow-up. They were tireless and professional in addressing and resolving the issue. Job well done.

Best of the best. More pricy than other spots but MBI is the standard for a reason. Quick, quality work and good communication.

I recently purchased an Mercedes SL500 from a private party. I was informed that the hardtop was being stored at MBI Motors. Oh great, I thought, this will surely be a hassle. Despite me not being their customer, they were professional and kind when I went to pick up the top. I was in and out quickly. Even a couple days later I am still presently surprised at how positive of an experience it was going there. Ive been to many service centers that act like you are a pain. I would bring my car here for service in the future.

I have a 1984 280SL and I only trust MBI to take care of my mint condition beautiful car. MBI took care of this car when it belonged to the previous owner and I have been taking it to MBI since I purchased it 15 years ago.Brandon provides excellent customer service and has been very patient with me as we went through all the service records last summer to Mae sure the cars service portfolio was up to date. Kevin was my service advisor this week and he did an excellent job. Everyone there is friendly and welcoming. I also appreciate that they wash my car! I love the fact that they now text with service reminders and follow up after service!!

Ive never had service done there, but the parts department has always been exceptional and Ive no doubt that the service would be just as good.

I bring my 79 and my 09 here for most services. I do what I can on the 79 and they totally support that, they have even been helpful with little things for no charge. They know how to retain a customer! Nice folks, reasonable fees.

I believe this is the best place to take your Mercedes Benz vehicle in the entire Portland area. Yes, better than the dealer (with the exception being for warranty work). Not to say that the dealer does bad work, but MBI does at least the same quality work for a fraction of the price. They always use the correct parts and dont charge for unneeded services. Every time I have dealt with them, my car was fixed correctly the first time. The people there are very friendly and straightforward. I was notified via text message the status of my vehicle as they fixed it, and of course when it was complete. The shop is extremely clean and does not even smell bad, which is actually pretty amazing for an auto repair facility. Even the parts department is great.Dont hesitate to take your beloved Mercedes, classic or not, to this shop. You wont be disappointed.

After 32 years owning mercedes, MBI is the only place Ill go. Theyre honest, straightforward and professional. Joy to do business with.

Like you I read about Kevin the smiling manager, face of the shop. It was all true, he is fantastic, honest, sincere, and works with your needs and budget to ensure your happy and your car is repaired/ serviced and safe. I have an older Benz, 1980 300SD. They inspected it and found what others already did or was reported good not so good...So they made me a detailed list with prices, we talked, decided what to prioritize, they spent a lot of time being personal me with. Keith is the magician tasked with working on the old cars, and he is good. Damn good. These cars arent parts swaps sometimes, you have to make, repurpose, create parts to repair. It takes skill and love for the vehicles. Long story short, we stuck to my budget, they helped me tweak some issues that I couldnt afford to go all out on right now, and my car is RUNNING GREAT AND SO MUCH BETTER. I am not only a loyal MBI customer now, but I made some great new friends. Job well done my friends at MBI.

Fair Prices and Honesty. These are two traits difficult to find in a car mechanic. MBI goes above and beyond. Brandon has taken care of my cars (multiple Mercedes) for years. He is knowledgeable and will never pressure me in to something I dont need. He gives me priorities based on severity, like a 1-10 scale. Finding an honest, knowledgeable, and helpful mechanic isnt an easy thing, thankfully MBI fits the bill. They were honest and thorough in finding the issues going on with my car. Perfect experience for my Mercedes

They worked on my conv top .spent extra time that was not charge to the job to repair.Replaced a part they found on Ebay that saved a lot money over a new factory part. Took time to explain the operation of the top in detail and to reset things if you have problems. I thank Brian and his team for the extra effort to get this repaired thanks again .

This is a great independent Mercedes repair shop in inner Southeast Portland. Definitely cheaper than the dealer across the river. Seth and Robert are some of the most skilled techs I have ever met, nothing gets past these guys! Used to be the best place to take your Mercedes now its all about the bucks. had my car detailed there had to re clean the headlights damaged the electronic screen in the drivers compartment change dramatically since it was sold

Weve been going here for a couple years now. They are super easy to communicate with and seem very honest. Its tough to know prices for mechanics but Id say these seem reasonable.

I have taken my Mercedes to MBI for over 10 years. They always get the repair done correctly the first time. Ive never had to go back for an issue. They treat me like family and the pricing is much less than a dealership. The also do a light detail on your car after every repair. They have some cool vintage loaners as well. Theyre the original and best Mercedes repair shop in Portland. After owning five Mercedes I am now a BMW owner and thank goodness MBI does work on BMWs as well. MBI has some of the best repair technicians on the west coast. They are my go to repair shop and I strongly recommend them.

Kevin the service manager I wish owned the place. Go see for yourself! Been going there with 20+ vehicles for the last few years along with 50+ referrals. Never ask for a loaner or anything just good work done. Well......... the last couple visits service has been terrible and I’m a customer whom has spent thousands and thousands and referred many saying this. They are no good now and have zero appreciation for the loyal customers they have had for years

I bought my first 1980s Mercedes-Benz W123 (300 Turbo Sedan-manganese brown) in the spring of 2001. The MBI team (Brandon, Carlos, Corbin, Kevin, Keith, Kim, Larry and Rich) past and present have been stellar. After owning a total of four 1980s Mercedes-Benz W123 and W126 that have all been taken to MBI for service...I can say that Sig Raethke and Corbin Lancaster have kept me and my family safely on the road in style.

Beautiful place the floors & equipment were cleaner than any hotels Ive been in. Professional & knowledgeable staff. Felt & treated like a queen!!! This is were to take your car for repairs. The best for the best!!!!!.

Living in Vancouver, I dont like crossing the river, but have learned that MBI is worth the trip for older MB repair. Not always the cheapest but they have treated me with honesty and when a repair is not done right they have corrected it. Wont go anywhere else.

They have a clean, professionally run shop. They do a stellar job and treat you well. They also wash and vacuum your car every time you bring it in. Will never take my German car to a different mechanic.

I took my old Benz to the wonderful Mercedes men in the white lab coats for years, and only stopped because I moved away. I can only say I wish every day there was a place like them in Detroit. If you have a Mercedes, old or new, do yourself a favor and bring her here!!!

I just wanted to speak up about the two negative reviews I saw that are likely from the same person. I was there when he was in the shop. He wanted some work done for free, which MBI agreed to do. Then he wanted it delivered after it was done, and MBI told him they normally didnt do that, but said they would see if any of their employees could help by dropping it off on their way home. They found an employee who would do so after his shift. The customer was very aggressive and contentious, in my opinion, but I saw MBI try very hard to please him.

These guys are the best in the biz. I wouldnt take my GL550 anywhere else. Dealer quality service at a fraction of the price.

I had a really nice experience with MBI Motors, both the staff and the service. The lady at the front desk was so sweet, friendly and helpful. The men on service crew were really nice, efficient and professional looking. The interior of their bodyshop is really clean and streamlined, which was a nice change from some shops Ive been to. I like MBIs central location just off Hawthorne... It makes it easy to go shopping or to go grab some food if you have a little time to wait. Ill definitely be a repeat customer and recommend to friends! Thanks MBI!

Very efficient mechanics,plus great service manager Brandon.He really explains what your car needs and the process.I use to drive from Redmond to MBI to have my 1980 450 SL to be serviced.They also serviced my daughters 350CLK while she lived in Keizer.I moved to Florida about three years ago.I just recently had actually two mechanics go over my car in Sarasorta,Florida, because I was planning on driving across the United States to go to Arizona for my daughters wedding.I decided to come to Portland before to go to MBI because the car was having problems.This shop is first class.They go out of their way and really take care of your car plus gives advice to preventive maintenance.They found the problems and other things so now I feel safe to drive back to Florida.The mechanic Keiththat worked on my car really knows his stuff.I just wish I could find a shop like this in Florida.The other thing is they will lend you a car while yours is being worked on for free.I also found out the owner will store your convertible top for a reasonable fee for those with these older cars.

Roughly 100k spent and referrals given to this company. New ownership comes in and treats the previous customers.... not just a customer but one like myself who’s given thousands on a total of 15plus cars of my own and 50 plus on referrals “the bs I’m just a number” treatment. Bring in a doctor to them and they don’t have the car repaired right when we show, say 30min..... we wait...... than after 45 they say “30 more”. Which we than had to leave doc had to be back to work. Than they message “ her car will be to her in about 35 at 5:11.” 6:55 the car finally shows and I offered to pay the Uber so doc/girlfriend would have her car. The fact mbi actually asked me for the Uber money is just sickening, the fact the car never showed until 6:55 is even worse and made me look horrible. At one point I would of referred anyone and everyone to MBI. Now it’s terrible and the new ownership of this company has zero care for his customers at all. So bad I was asked to pay in full before my work was done to my vehicle and I’ve never been anything but an upstanding customer for years. Well....... mbi you got your full payments on site always and I’ve treated you great for years. Today however you have lost my business, my families business and businesses business forever. Very disappointed

Being an Auto Body Shop that specializes in collision repair we often have to sublet mechanical work to other companies that specialize in the mechanic side of auto repairs. MBI is great to work with, quality work, great communication, and a fair price.

This Is the First Review Ive felt the need to write.MBI is the place to take your Mercedes Old or New if your not looking to spend insane amounts on Rentech Kleeman packages ....*note had more work done later date happy!Story:I Recently Brought My 2003 E55 AMG in for Crank Pulley Replacement because the original harmonic balancer failed, my goal was to replace it and surrounding pulleys with aftermarket parts instead. This Created problems finding a shop willing to do the work...MBI not only Returned Multiple Calls but gave me the opportunity to come over to the shop and talk with the mechanics and explain my situation and urgency. They Agreed On a price and gave me a time frame and got my car in nearly Immediately.Thats not the end tho they ran into problems with not having a tool for the aftermarket part so they had to remove the starter to get better access to the crank. They called me as soon as the issue was found and explained the additional hour of labor. All said and done work finished the car runs amazing and I got a tune from Eurocharged and the Parts from Shardul *Ultimate Performance Design*I would recommend MBI to anyone with a European car its not cheap but the work done is second to none. 6 months after the work on my pulleys on my 2003 e55 AMGNO belt slip NO wobble NO belt wear PERFECT JOB.Time will Tell If parts last but the work was done excellently.
