Had paid over 800 for replacing the rams oem exhaust manifolds with the bbk shorties and felpro gaskets memorial day weekend 2019. went to rag because I knew it would be difficult install and I was willing to pay for professional service. plus I suspected possible bolt extraction, If I remember right there was 2. Well I got a wopping 2 years out of it before it started making the annoying leaking noise.Went to replace the gaskets on my own this weekend and found a grinded down bolt with crossthreads, 3 loose bolts on drivers side and one completely stripped out passenger side. picture shows where leak was at stripped bolt, they used a thread lock to keep it in place. on passenger side and the driver side upper. and the poor bolts that connect from the headers to the muffler had were so long with 8 washers and the were bent so bad I had to cut one off and use tap and die to get them off and I also had to use a helicoil on the stripped aluminum Head.After this unfortunate experience Ill most likely never use or recommend their services.

Consistent pricing, fast, quality work. Have gotten two catalytic converters replaced there- $100/hr shop labor rate (they know what theyre doing so its fast), $150 flat to weld a protective cable over the cat. Will be back!

Had the guys down at Rag install a catback kit and a rear motor mount. Took the car out and ran it pretty hard. No leaks, no rattles. A perfect install install in just few hours at a respectable price.Ill Absolutely come back for future work.

I had purchased a head pipe for my daughters ATV. It has a slip-on with a slightly larger diameter than the stainless steel head pipe. I took both parts in, and they were able to expand the pipe to fit inside the slip-on perfectly. The guys were very helpful and did it in less than 5 minutes.

These guys are awesome! I have a volvo v70 2002 and have been trying to get my check engine light to turn off for almost a year.About a year ago I had a different shop tell me I needed a new catalytic converter. I dropped the money for that service and the check engine light came back on in a couple weeks. Took it back to that shop and they replaced it with what they told me was the absolute best option for my car. Following that I continued to have the check engine light come on and turn off periodically for the last year, prompting me to have several repairs done that now appear to have been unnecessary. The final blow was when I took my car to DEQ to get it smogged and it wouldnt pass.Finally I took my car to TVG Volvo. They took a look at it free of charge and assured me that this issue was my catalytic converter!! TVG referred me to RAG automotive.I brought my car in first thing in the morning got it back early afternoon, drove back to DEQ, passed smog and got my tags. These guys knew (no guessing) what the correct part for my car was and gave prompt and friendly service. PLUS my 3 year old son got a new hot wheels car out of the deal. What else could you want?

These guys are great. I had this awful whistling sound when I would rev my car above 3000 rpm. They took off the muffler made sure that the muffler was the problem and put a new after market one and a tip for around 200 dollars. I can not say enough good things about them.

Absolutely outstanding. Fixed my muffler delete on my Mazda 3. No bull and honest. Help confirm an odd sound and trace it to its source as well. They told me an 1-1.25 hour and when I got back a little after an hour it was already done for me. Great shop here. I will definitely return when Im ready to do my brakes.

Ive had Rags work on my exhaust system, do my shocks, and replace my brakes. Both times Ive been in Ive worked with the owner and the same mechanic.I like coming here because they do quality work in a timely manner at a decent price. I also like that their customer service is on point. As a woman with a classic car, I take an active interest in my vehicle and I do not want to be talked down to. They get that. They give me choices, they answer my questions, they show me what theyre doing, and we talk about the care of my car. I also like that their office and parking lot are tidy, and that their shop is clean.When I first got my car and needed work done, I was a bit anxious. I hadnt owned a classic in a long time and I was doing some things for the first time. Rags made it super simple. Im proud to be a customer here.

I work next to these guys and finally stopped in to ask about a better performing muffler. I told them what I was looking for and they zeroed in on a recommendation. I took their advice and I am glad I did. They nailed it - great sound, power and price. They had me in and out within an hour of me walking in.

I had a leak on the inner side of my tire. I thought it was a brake fluid leak, so I came to Rag Muffler and Brake, after finding them in my neighborhood, and seeing that they had good reviews. They inspected the brakes immediately but determined that my leak wasnt a brake leak, but was axle lubricant, so it was not a job that they specialized in. They put the brake back together and sent me on my way, with a better idea of how to proceed after what was basically a free consultation. So, I wasnt able to use their services this time, but I will in the future. Seems like a great place for people with a mechanical curiosity, or at least those who want to understand what services they are paying for. And they invited me to their summer customer appreciation BBQ!

These guys are great! Fair prices, excellent service. I brought my 2001 Ford Escape in to have a clogged rear catalytic converter replaced. Other shops quoted over $400 for the fix, Rag did the job for $250. Highly recommend these guys, theyve been in the game a long time and know what theyre doing.

This is a great place to take your car for exhaust work. I brought in a Grand Marquis with a rotted out kid muffler set. They were able to very quickly and economically replace the system from the catalyst back, including custom bending new pipes to specifications. Saved substantial money off the chain muffler shop, and had better service.

This is a very honest shop that I cannot recommend enough. They are true to their word with pricing and will answer your questions without any bs. I chose them after visiting several shops for an exhaust manifold replacement because they treated me like a friend, not a paycheck.

I wish more businesses were like Rag Muffler. In addition to installing a new muffler for a mere $125, the guys spent 45 minutes tracking down an elusive exhaust squeak that turned out to be a few loose bolts and didnt charge me anything for the trouble. The shop is clean and well organized, the waiting room is decent (though you probably wont have to wait long) and the quality of work was outstanding; clean, professional welds and quality parts. Plus, theyre just nice people.

I brought my 2016 Dodge Charger RT in for aftermarket performance exhaust a few months ago. A few weeks later it was discovered that the wrong size pipe and mufflers were used. I brought my car back in and immediately Rocky and his crew went to work fixing the issue until I was 100% satisfied and at no extra cost. I would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone and have actually brought my car back for additional work and am bringing in another vehicle today for aftermarket exhaust. I need to call tomorrow and see if I can track down the name of the guy that did my work for me, but long story short is that he was very helpful, showed me everything he found, including things that showed severe wear but were not top of my spending list, and did great work on what I needed. He then did more work for me than agreed upon, and didnt charge. Even helped me change a bulb without charging for the bulb. I kind of felt bad, but he was too glad to help. Great guys.

This shop experience was great. I should have wrote this review many months back when I went in, but I got swept up with life. The fact that I am writing it now should be a testament to how impressed I was with them. They were friendly, professional and made me feel valued as a customer. I thought I had a muffler issue based on the codes my engine light was pulling after swapping parts out and erasing the code repeatedly. My engine light just kept coming come back on. They listened carefully to what I had to say, did a quick diagnostic, thoroughly talked though it afterwards, ran a couple more tests just to see if they could tease anything out and gave me their best insight on what could be going on. Better yet, they did a little research afterwards to send me in the right direction and they didn’t even charge by the end of it. I will definitely come back should I ever have muffler or brake items to have taken care of- Go to this shop, they care about what they do and it reflects on how they treat their customers and their cars.

I took my car to 3 other shops trying to get confirmation on exactly where my leak was coming from. None of them could give me a straight answer. I took my car to rags and they had my car up on the lift in seconds after arriving. Craig, the gentlemen who looked at my car, pointed out the sections that were causing the problem. Once they had the part that I needed, they got right on it. One of the most friendly and informative, honest shops that Ive had the experience of having my car serviced at. The owner and Craig greeted me with a smile and it just had that welcoming, thanks for doing business with us kind of vibe. Its hard to find that kind of attitude. Great people and excellent prices and no more leak!

This place was great in terms of craftsmanship, quality, and customer service... In those categories they get a 5 star. HOWEVER, they charged me $525 to replace my front and rear brake pads.... Not rotors, calipers, tires, or bolts... Just brake pads for $525.... The shop was super dead when I got there so I felt like they charged me that much just to make ends meet that week, not because it was the fair or honest price... THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST EXPENSIVE BRAKE REPAIR IN THE ENTIRE CITY, IF NOT THE COUNTRY.... 5 star on service, 1 star on price... I will never use this shop again.

Spoke with Craig he helped me get a good plan for some fab muffler work. He could do the work but recommended that I do a different system as to be better for the machine, even though they were referring the work out. Based on it being the right thing to do. Class act.

My standard muffler was super expensive - about as much as my old car is worth - these guys saved me a bunch of money by getting creative with a stock muffler. In and out same day. Recommended.

Any shop can hang a direct fit muffler, For a slightly custom fit like I had takes skill and Pride in their work to do a Great job, and what a bonus for a Fair Price ! Believe me Im not the easiest to please because I try to do most automotive related things myself but for exhaust work especially Ill take all my Familys vehicles here.

Just had my Exhaust pipe repaired by Rag Muffler, They offered me a few options price wise, went ahead with a replacement option, Price was good and the Workmanship was PERFECT. Check this shop first if you need any Muffler work on you vehicle.

Fantastic friendly and speedy work on my full exhaust and muffler replacement, and at a very fair price. However I was a bit put off when they priced shock absorber replacement at $450!! A job which on this old Toyota can be done in about 15 minutes without even jacking the truck up or removing any other parts. And for which genuine OEM parts only cost $120 total in the retail market. I would have paid the standard double the parts cost on the spot, hell maybe even a little more to not have to get on my back and do it myself, but 450 is rediculous. Nevertheless I will continue to return to these guys for all of my exhaust system needs in the future.

They welded up a gnarly crack on my 50+ year old exhaust for a whopping $20. Its still holding nesrly a year later. Good dudes.

Had them do a manifold back exhaust. Craftsmanship was great and it ws fairly priced. Im happy enough that Ill be taking another vehicle to them next week despite there being about ten shops between my location and theirs.

Stories of the AntichristMy trucks exhaust was being extremely problematic. I thought I had fixed it several times myself but the flange, it kept backing off. The sound it created was embarrassing and defeating! I brought my thunder bucket into Rag Muffler & Brake to let the pros tackle it. When they were done, that thunder bucket was now a respectable, peaceful ride. Is that the end of the story? It is not! My instructions were to bring RPR (Respectable Peaceful Ride) back into the shop at the end of 2000 miles -- to make sure the new setup was tight. Just prior however, my TB (Thunder Bucket) regained its audible offense. Saddened, we abused all ears passed to reunite with Rag. They -- were -- awesome!! Replaced the doughnut, tightened everything, and sent me on my way with nary a cent spent from my own pocket. Not yet ready to surrender, TB came back weeks later with a fury, raising eyebrows, vibrating teeth and making babies cry! Concerned that this violation was never going to be arrested, yet giving me a slight satisfaction that I was not the only one challenged by the beast. It was once again guided up on Rags capable lift. TBs careful caretakers restored the violent upheaval to its prior graceful state but not with the same approach. Garnered with new hardware and technique that I challenge GOD itself to vibrate loose, I was once again set loose to the potholed streets of Portland. Story short and time gone by, I am humbled and grateful that Rag had succeeded in what I could not! I graciously offered to pay because it was clear to me that our visits were truly due to an obnoxious exhaust system from hell. They refused again stating that they were sorry I had to return. I wasnt though, I liked the guys.
