Took me 3 days of back and forth to get answers on 2 simple inquiries: which vehicles are actually available and what price are you asking. Slashes through prices on the website is not helpful for anyone. I added a 2nd star to this review only because the General Sales Manager reached out after I was unable to get anywhere with a different salesperson and they answered my simple questions in one phone call. I have not purchased here before and definitely won’t be in the future if this is any indication of how the rest of the dealership operates. Advertising your actual prices and inventory would save time for all involved!

We noticed a specific car and color we had been eyeing. The car page suggested we contact the dealer for the dealer price. So my wife did. Why dont you come on out and test drive it? That price is listed $5,000 over sticker price. Im new and motivated to make a sale. (Im paraphrasing.) We showed up when they opened, made small talk, and test drove. When it came time to sit down and talk specifics, they gave us a price of $5,000 OVER the listed price. They stated the extra $5,000 was a Regional Markup, which is an amount added to the window sticker that can pad hundreds or even thousands of dollars over the manufacturers sticker price - in other words, a made up fee. My wife asked to see the invoice price, which they wouldnt show. What does an invoice matter?, they said. (It shows how much the dealer bought the car for.) We then pointed out the site shows a price with a red slash through it. Any rational thinking individual would assume this means the price is lower than this... and theyd be right. He then returned with a new price but a list of new detailed items that essentially offset whatever reduction he thought he was presenting us. My wife came up a little on her offer, but both sides were still way off. We did our research and know a ballpark amount of what it costs the dealer to buy the vehicle and what the markup likely is. We werent looking to deplete their profit margin, but to merely not pay a ridiculous amount.Anyways, our sales person appeared to get annoyed at this time and got a sales manager involved, who told us the price $5,000 above the MSRP could not be lowered and the price online is only there because its illegal to advertise above the MSRP. (Side note: how many times have you gone to a place like Costco, where there is a retail price and a sales price, and Costco (or any other business) then charges you MORE than retail price, stating its illegal to advertise a higher price? It doesnt happen because its unethical, and most sales-related businesses wouldnt get away with that.) We told them its misleading to lure us in stating the price online is $5K over and we had room to negotiate, only to then jack up the price. No where in the fine print did it suggest a Regional Fee may be added to the car. Further, the sales manager said they stopped doing dealer holdbacks a few months ago (we asked about that to again try to get an idea of their purchase point), which is where their profit is padded so their lowest price still has a profit margin. They then suggested though they have sat on this particular vehicle for two or three months (they didnt want to supply us with how long they actually had the car when asked), they said it makes more sense for them to sit on a car that they cant replace anyways (since supply and demand is askew right now). So for all of you who are starting businesses, remember: sit on inventory, dont sell it. Acquiring pieces without sales is where the real money is.It was a classic bait-and-switch in pricing. Luckily for us, we only spent one hour there and walked, mutually (them and us) agreeing they wouldnt be earning our business. They are the classic reason why I have almost always (minus one mistake) bought through a broker, and will continue to purchase through a broker. Look up brokers through your local credit union if youre in the market for a vehicle. So much easier, and youll likely save money.They get two stars mainly because the salesman was nice and pleasant to our daughter. Once numbers where entered into the equations, the mood turned a bit more adversarial, full of crossed arms and tense body language with us, but he was still always cordial to our little one.Edit for reply: I understand the chip shortage. That isn’t beyond me. The problem remains my wife’s sales contact told her it was priced $5K over and we could negotiate. Then, all the sudden the price was $5K over. Hardly honest or trustworthy.

The VW service center just quoted me $2600 to repair β€œmassive oil leaks” and replace my break pads and rotors on my β€˜13 Tiguan. (I am not the person who took the car in.) I knew something was fishy when I was told the β€œbelt cover” was leaking. I’ve driven VWs for decades and used to be a bit of a gear head, and I’ll say this: belt covers don’t contain oil. If you lubricate a belt it slips and doesn’t do its job. These guys are making this stuff up. A belt cover is a piece of plastic that keeps your belts clean by covering it. Pretty simple stuff, no oil involved.My usual shop inspected the car and found a small bit of oil seepage from one gasket. Brakes are still solid at 40% of wear left. Please do your self a favor and get another opinion before spending money on repairs here.

I brought in my Volkswagen Passat for service. I had already had the diagnostic code verified prior. Expecting it to be covered under warranty, I brought it here. I was told it was caused by damage and no warranty was available. Not a problem. However, they said they offer a courtesy vehicle inspection. I was charged $108 for this diagnosis. No parts or labor was needed to inspect slight damage under the car. Not very courteous of them. Extremely disappointed. Will not be returning here.

Two different mangers personally spoke with me and not only apologized, but worked hard on my behalf to get me into the car I wanted - within my small budget. The paint code (LA7W), for my Jetta is a very close match to the Volkswagen Reflexive Silver Metallic, made by Duplicolor. I just bought a 2021 VW Tiguan and the experience was excellent. I live in Beaverton and had corresponded with numerous dealerships on various makes and models before settling on a VW SUV. TJ the sales consultant was patient, friendly and very knowledgeable. I suggested my Sister in law take her Dad’s 2004 Bettle there that had a problem with something draining the battery. After reading some of the good reviews. First quoted $169 to troubleshoot then was $362. First told me they were going down this check sheet and it was not the radio or water pump. After she told them forget it after they had the car 2 days oh it is the radio and water pump. Makes me wonder if they were talking advantage of this single mom. I don’t think she will ever go back there.

I made a appointment got up drove over there and was told they were not equipped for my car. Which is fine but when I made the appointment it would have been better to get a call or email or something from them to tell me they couldn’t help me. I made my appt almost 2 weeks prior so a heads up would have been great rather then me wasting gas and time I could have found somewhere else to go.

What a mess. I needed a new key fob for my VW, so that I can get into my Golf without the alarm going off. The key itself was 200 dollars and took a week to get to the dealership. And instead of programming it, they called me to come pick up the key from the parts door, then told me to walk it over to the service center so I can SCHEDULE THE PROGRAMMING! They couldnt program the key for another week, so my apartment complex will continue having to hear me unlock this car with the key every morning and set off my alarm. What a joke.

I managed to buy my dream car.I used the TrueCar service and got the email confirmation of the car that I have been looking for from this dealership. It turns out, I got the pricing I have been dreaming of. So we made the trek to the place that believes in nice. I arrived and realized the car I had been looking at for the last few days was a showroom car and after sharing the TrueCar pricing confirmation email response from the dealership, (the long story short version), the pricing was an error.I still bought the car because I wanted it, but the experience wasnt ideal. We made the drive for that car and it actually felt like a baited transaction, since I made it known I was committed to this show room car.I do understand that businesses have to make money, but someone allowed the discount pricing to happen out there and it was a shame that it wasnt honored when pen met paper. I ended up paying a smidge over MSRP. I still got my car that I wanted, and so I felt it was fair that I give this okay review for other consumers to be aware of what can happen.*edit* Roy reached out to me after posting this review the next day, which helped me understand that they do care about their clients, hoping to make it right by me. I did accept the terms of buying this car and he offered to make sure that I got an additional point of service with my warranty on my car. I bought an e-golf, great little car. Michael did a good job of showing me all the features and getting everything set up for me. I did not expect to actually take possession of the car that day ( so was there with my old car that I was keeping, alone), so he drove the car to my house - he was very personable and attentive.

Perry and Travis and the finance team were helpful and efficient. I had done some research on the hybrid and features I wanted in a car. This was the first time I had purchased a brand new car. They made the purchasing experience go smoothly and helped me understand all the options for how to make such a big decision. And I was in my new vehicle in a fairly quick amount of time. I visited Dick Hannah earlier this month with my son, and after asking a few detailed questions about vehicles needs, our salesman, Noe led him straight to the vehicle he ended up buying. We test drove different cars, but with the original inquiries into what my son was looking for, Noe already had the right VW Jetta for him in mind. Very, very happy with the whole experience! Edit: 10 months later and the content of my review has vanished. To summarize: 5 star service department, 1 star sales department.My experience with the service department has consistently been excellent. Dayton and Chad have taken great care of me on several occasions. Communication was great, service was fast, no unexpected surprises. Service on the weekend is a dream. I will likely have my next service performed here.Sales was a different story. I did a lot of research on my purchase and knew what to expect for our area. I made it very clear that I intended to pay cash for the vehicle. After some negotiation, I was told that I wanted too much car for my price. To make matters worse, I was not given a competitive cash price - I was told I could only reach a competitive price by leasing the vehicle and buying out the lease after 3 months.DH sales went by the high-pressure sales playbook. I was told to initial random pieces of paper to commit to buy at certain prices, shown phony screenshots proving that DH was making a pittance on the sale, the whole 9 yards.In the end, I went elsewhere and found the vehicle I wanted at the price I wanted with no high pressure sales tactics or suspicious lease scheme.

You get an email and a phone call from the manager calling and telling you we have a deal, only to drive half hour to dealership and they pull a fast one. Even the manager said they quoted the wrong car. Not my problem. Don’t stretch the truth and tell the customer we are a couple hundred dollars off just come down we will get it done. In reality we are a thousand dollars or more off of a deal. The sales rep (Martha) was wonderful and thoughtful, but I find a bad experience in a different state only to be only matched with a poor experience in this Portland Volkswagen store. My advice if they read this review, don’t play games and be straight up with your customers.Modified review... I spoke to the manager and we clarified on the phone some of the miscommunication. The general manager seemed very concerned about my experience and was truly apologetic about the problems. I appreciated the call and after all is said and done we did not buy a car, however I would come back to this particular dealership for a new car purchase. Ownership of errors bad communication means a lot to me and and the effort to correct the situation to provide a good experience is something they do value. He would not have taken the time to call me if this wasnt the case.
