I love this place. Everything is well presented and an ease to shop through. Staff is helpful but not too pushy. Great spot
So apparently even though I brought my Nespresso machine back within 30 days and everything, it wasn’t acceptable as a return because I didn’t have the original styrofoam it came in, and I guess there was also a fingerprint visible somewhere on it. (This isn’t hyperbole, those were the reasons I was given.) Don’t buy anything from Williams Sonoma without doing every single bit of research beforehand; they’re too upscale to abide by the same return policies as every other big retailer I know of.
Great place to find high quality kitchen items and excellent staff to help choose the best ones. With the first purchase, a KitchenAid Mixer to make bread, Jen was helpful to say that even the Artisan model was a bit underpowered for bread and recommended the Proline series. ( I had bought a Professional 5 Plus from another store that would shut down after a short time, which I brought back). The Proline series machine worked the way the older KitchenAids worked, flawlessly. I also found a 12 inch steamer at WS that I could not find anywhere else. And Amy was tremendously helpful in finding the best quality stainless steel cookware. Overall everything I bought at William Sonoma was top quality and better than anywhere else I shopped.
Staff was attentive, patient and upbeat. Looked like shelves were fully stocked. Very nice shopping experience.
This store is in a very good location-lots of shops around. So far, the staff that helped me from this location have been nice and attentive. Williams Sonoma sells a lot of different brands, a good place to check out those pots/pans you’ve been eyeing online 😉
Online shopping is great but nothing beats a professional human. I needed more info on solid kitchen cookware. The staff had me in and out in 20 mins., with a great set of 3 ply Ceramic pans.
I had bought SMAG grinder machine online in August and I couldnt receive any update about my order till December. Also, I contacted with customer service about four times. Every time was different person and only replied official response. There is no any vendor management at this company. Finally, I requested calculation then they stated contacting the vendor. But I didnt need it anymore. I got SMAG coffee grinder from another vendor.
We went into this store last weekend with our friends (and our friends are a Hispanic couple). At two separate times in the visit, TWO different store employees physically stood in front of them (and made contact) while showing products to other customers. Not one employee asked them if they needed help or to be shown a product. We only saw one of these exchanges from across the store and heard about all these details after we left. THIS IS 2020 and people are still being treated poorly based on their appearance and ethnicity. I hope many people read this and shop ELSEWHERE. It didnt even happen to me and I am sad and dejected that this type of behavior still exists.
I would give zero stars if I could. I ordered 2 modular wine racks. These were to build on top of my current wine racks that I purchased from Williams Sonoma in the past. They are solid wood and connect together like Lincoln Logs. The 2 new racks arrived. The joints where they connect are broken.I placed this order on October 11th when they arrived broken the customer service agent assured me theyd me happy to replace the racks and ship with better care. That was on Oct 19.I did not receive the replacement. I called again on November 6th and they said not to worry, they were due to arrive on the 7th. The replacement racks still didnt show up.I called on November 9th and they said they were going to create a brand new replacement as the others were never processed and never even created a label. Estimated delivery for that replacement was November 23rd.Today I called again. December 2nd. Still no wine racks replaced. The customer service agent told me.they still had not processed the replacement. She said she would submit a wheres my order request but would not transfer me.to a supervisor and said there was nothing else I could do.Do waste your time or money. Its been 2 months and I am beyond frustrated with no help and broken merchandise.
Probably the worst Williams Sonoma store I’ve ever been, it’s so crowded inside doesn’t even look like COVID time (don’t think they are following the regulations State of Oregon had during holiday), people working there talk to you and then know nothing about their product... they said let me check then forgot about it, they lean in the corner and have chats there for so long and don’t care about block others from seeing the product.I visited different locations of Williams Sonoma before and this is a experience I’ve never expected, there’s another one in Portland, if get a chance, try that one, don’t place yourself in a position that can be ignored, not worth it.I don’t have enough data/research to say they are judging people by their race/appearance, you’ll sense some pattern when you are in this store and notice some customer get help immediately and some never.
I bought a Wusthof Ikon knife from them on Friday. $150 knife, took it out of the case when I got home and didn’t like the feel as it was too small for my hands. Hannah who sold me the knife didn’t offer to let me feel the knife while in the store(I assumed it was due to COVID) anyways, as the knife doesn’t fit my hand ergonomics I went back in today Monday 9/21 to see if I could exchange it for a Wusthof Classic Chefs knife and was told they do not except returns for knives by a store employee named Joshua. He in-formed me that the policy states so on the receipt (which it did not) but he still refused to exchange my knife. I’m now out $150 for a knife I can’t comfortably use. I will no longer purchase anything from Williams and Sonoma. They should have been more transparent about their knives return policy. They should have offered to let me hold the knife before purchase. $150 knife is way to expensive to just wright off as a silly mistake. I’m wildly unhappy. I guess this is why Amazon is leading the world in sales across the board. They would have happily accepted my return no questions asked. I’ll stick with them for my future kitchen ware purchases.
They’ve let a crazy dude set up camp on the side of their building, this company is enabling a sidewalk camper that won’t let anyone pass by on the sidewalk, this company is part of the problem in this neighborhood. Used to shop here, but they are bad neighbors.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience today at this store, completely due to the great customer service we had from Aaron. We had purchased wine glasses quite a few years ago and some of them have since broken. We decided we wanted to purchase a few replacements. Aaron was able to look up our previous purchase and figure out which ones we had ordered prior as we couldn’t remember. As it turned out, they have been discontinued but he was amazingly able to track down more for us from another store after a long search. Service like this is hard to come by these days and we left very appreciative and happy. Thank you, Aaron!
Cool place for kitchen anything. When I like something I wait till its on sale then buy. They have decent sales on good quality stuff
On Friday, I specifically asked when I purchased an item from sale area if I could return it and was assured that I could by the cash register associate. Upon getting it home, it clashed with other items in my home, so two days later I went to return or exchange it. The staff looked at me as I broke the ultimate shopping taboo of returning a final sale item...but, I assured them that I was told yes, that I could return it and described both people working at the counter two days earlier. The manager pointed out the posted rules by tapping on a nearby sign and said I could not return or exchange the item. I regret not asking him to inquire with the employees that handled the transaction on Friday and I just muttered ‘it’s just not worth it.’ Bad customer service by all, especially the manager, for not taking my details and speaking to the employees I described. My character was called into question and I was not believed, nor given the benefit of the doubt; I was made to feel like a scam artist and liar. I’m stuck with the item now that will serve as a constant reminder to shop elsewhere.
I want to decorate my home in Williams Sonoma everything. But I cant afford that. Help me, Im poor ;-)
This place and its staff are amazing. The best of its kind
After a few days of moving to the neighborhood my friend and I went to to store on 23rd. I have to say I have never been treated so bad in my life. My friend and I were followed around the store the entire time. The employee following us was within 5 feet from us even when we walked up the stairs. The manager Chris was the one who ordered the one employee working that night to follow us. I called the next day and spoke with the general manager about the situation. He agreed that better training against racial bias is needed. I am honestly traumatized from the experience. Iv been to similar stores on Rodeo Drive, Vegas and San Fransisco where employees will break a leg to help customers. I would not recommend the store to anyone who expects good customer service, specially for the price you would be paying. Anyone in the neighborhood has the option to buy similar or same products on the same street, pearl, downtown or online.
We like shopping at the store I like the quality of their products we will continue shopping there I like the people
Set up well for distancing, staff very helpful and friendly
Love this store, we got lucky and parked right outside. The staff were super friendly and had the items we wanted already set aside. Will definitely shop here again.
This store has Le Creusette, my favorite enamel on cast iron cookware. Its in a good neighborhood on 23rd St with other shops. Beautiful building and architecture nearby.
Nice mix of high-end pieces that dont cost a fortune. Not as common as pottery barn, even though theyre owned by the same company :)
The staff is very knowledgeable and efficient, not to mention that Williams Sonoma has everything for the chef
Same poor customer service for which theyve become known.
Took my daughter to a cookie baking class here, staff was super helpful and accommodating
This location does not have their fecal matter consolidated. Had a great experience at the Washington Square location but they were out of one item we needed. Computer said that this location had two so we drove over to this location. Had to wait 30 minutes while they tried to find what we needed. One employee said the stock room is a mess.. Hat to order the prodect and will have to wait two weeks to receive it. When you place an order in the stoor to be shipped, the employee has to enter in your credit card manually. What a mess! rugs on the floor are falling apart. One of the bathrooms was out of order. Just not well taken car of. not ever going back to this location!
You will find the most beautiful cookware here.love the location on 23rd
What can I say, the staff is really friendly and well prepared, they helped me get the best choice of the electric appliance that I was looking for, it is a nice store well displayed
4 I instead of 5 stars because I love this store, but the woman working came off as snobbish and seemed like she didn’t even want to be there. Didn’t even look me in the eye once during my transaction.
Since this is the picture i took love this store so much more the your kitchen to shop here for.
Love this store, plus all the ideas and cooking items I enjoy!!!
I thought the other reviewers were kidding about the ageist discrimination. I watched as another customer was offered complimentary water and help finding something! They look at me, already decide Im too young to be established, and write me off. Ill order my products online; good luck keeping your brick and mortar relevant if you cant offer good service!
This store was the start of the worst customer experience Ive ever encountered. I bought a couch from them (actually, I bought it online as no one in the store would help me) and after six months of almost constant communication, I have no couch to show for my frustration. Take your business elsewhere. You will save money and many hours of hassle.
One stop shop for everything a semi-professional cook or kitchen enthusiast could possibly want. Best place ive been to so far.
I went today havent been downtown for some time. Parked in the parking below hit elevator button when the door opened a man was living in the elevator.
JANET MADE IT A 5, ANNA MADE IT A 1. ANNA TREATED ME LIKE A RECK AND IT MADE ME SICK. ANNA-RECK-SICK. SO, I LEFT! FELT MUCH BETTER AFTER TAKING MY BUSINESS TO SUR LA TABLE AND SPENT OVER $1000. NW 23rd st Portland. Thank you Janet, I will shop William Sonoma again thanks to you. Anna, you actually did me a favor, Sur La Table had a color of Le Creust only available there and I never would have known so Im not upset, and in a way, thank-you.
The merchandise is great! Otherwise, thanks for reminding me why I buy online. Good luck.
Great place to stop for a foodie kitchen product demo, speak to friendly reps & staff, and get ideas for home and cookware. 20%+ off the prices if you get a Williams-Sonoma credit card to make a purchase.
I could spend my whole bank account here. Ice stuff great selection
When this store was all WS Home and managed by Kevin May nothing was out of place- only the highest level of CS and client care. The store was once a five star experience, but all suns must set. This hybrid version of kitchen and home has an energy all of its own. It feels cheaper and more retail verses the design house-gourmet experience that it once provided.I wish WS the very best, because they are one of the few who offer high quality furnishing built in the US and made of chemical free materials. The kitchen side of things is less than organic, simple things such as their hand soap and dish care ingredients are typical poorly sourced rubbish. Standard cooking brands like LeCruset, OXO and Kitchen Aid are always on hand.
Blah blah blah. Scene from Pretty Woman.Shop assistant: “Hello, can I help you?”Vivian: “I was in here yesterday, you wouldn’t wait on me.”Shop assistant: “Oh.”Vivian: “You people work on commission, right?”Shop assistant: “Yeah.”Vivian: “Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now.”
Nice sales and helpful staff. They are good about gift wrapping if needed too.
One of my favorite stores! They always have helpful sales associates, and yummy samples!
So nice you want to by everything!
Fantastic location. Love the furniture collection upstairs
Went in with my wife to buy a wedding gift for a friend, and the sales people that were helping us sedre not very helpful. One of them sass looking over our shoulder as though we didnt know how to select a gift off a registry. When it came time to check out, she gave us attitude about shipping our gift, raher than just doing he shipment as we asked. We may look young, but we know the difference between good and bad service, and we dont like being treated like infants. If you look young, you will probably be treated in a condescending way at this store.
I love this place, the staff is great, the products are second to none. If youre serious about cooking this should be your second home.
Amazing selection, super friendly and helpful staff and great prices
This is one of WS flagship stores. They carry things you wont find at most other WS stores. However, it is still the same price range. Definitely worth checking out though!
They are so friendly here.
I love Williams Sonoma, but I love the people they employ more! Anna at the Nw 23rd location is one of my favorite retail associates of all time. Honestly, she makes me look forward to coming in to the store. Williams Sonoma is incredibly fortunate to have her as an employee and should treat her accordingly. She is knowledgable about all products and will be transparent about their practicality and reviews. In addition to Anna, there is a woman that answers the phones in the home department and a girl at check out that we truly enjoy as well.. Its so nice to talk to people that seem to genuinely love their jobs!!! We love going to see Ann and others at the Nw 23rd location for the latest and greatest products and will continue to go back to this location for years to come!
Buy online instead. Manager was hostile and tried to mislead me (often called lying in many situations).. First she pretended she didnt understand what I wanted (use the coupon on the on-sale item), then insisted my coupon code was a glitch in the Williams-Sonoma system when I showed her that I could use it online, then tried to tell me it was only on those exact items (dorset glasses sold in sets of 4 which are on-line rather than sold individually), then looked up the scu and just said you cant apply a coupon to an on-sale item without actually checking if the code worked, and then finally started to call applying a promo code to an on-sale item double dipping when she finally admitted that it was ONLY store policy that barred customer promo codes to be applied to sale items.I dont like being lied to and I really dont like a retail manager trying to shame me by calling it double dipping when I want to use the coupon sent to me by their company!Long story: Skip the 23rd Portland store and just buy online. I had a print out showing I could apply the promo code sent to me on those items and the manager still insisted I could not use it and was very shaming about it!! I called customer service to place my order and the woman who helped me was wonderful!
Good selection and friendly helpful staff
Great place with quality products. Staff are all very kind.
Clerk exceptionally wonderful!
Staff very helpful. People that shop there were very snooty and couldnt care less about anyone else.
Trendy overpriced trinkets, but the wife loves it. Shopping there after the holidays, we got some good deals.
Joke of a place, you would think you’d walked into the set of a comedy show complete with the snooty, phony sales people determining if you’re worth their time or not.
Expensive, high quality products. Beautiful home furnishings.
Very helpful and friendly staff!
Always the best experience.
Not impressed with the product mix and their online order pick up system is broken and leaves waiting too long.
Always the best cooking items in town.
Not open at 8am on sundays. Here at 9:45 and they are closed.
Very high end goods.
Nice store, friendly staff.
Lots of good kitchen stuff needs
Terrible terrible poor service no cashiers to wait on you had to wait for 20 minutes with six people in line. When you order something they lie and say theyre going to ship it and then they call you 2 weeks later and say oh oh we dont have that product in stock. Way way way over priced do not do not I say do not shop here
Great kitchen store.
Really helpful employees!
Great store only drawback is parking .
Great service!!
Friendly staff, huge selection of kitchen wares. Our favorite kitchen store in the area.
Just way too spendy
I like this place 💁
