The kindest & most helpful employees. Cara helped me pick out some great stuff - plenty of cool (and well priced…which is noticeably difficult to find on Hawthorne) items. Noticed many people bringing in new items as I was looking around
Incredibly disappointed with the lack of size inclusivity and incredibly over priced clothing. There were no woman’s pants over a size 16 while there were row after row of smaller sized clothing. My favorite find was a heavily stained Chicago souvenir shirt priced at nearly $30. I will not be coming back to Crossroads at any location or selling clothes there. It really isn’t that hard to be inclusive in your sizing and not be fatphobic, and to price clothing reasonably. Also seeing how every single employee looked like they completely hated their job and would rather be anywhere but there says a lot about the company overall.
This place sucks. Took a grip of perfectly good items in there, many far better than what was on their racks and they didnt buy a single item. When I looked around the store, the stuff they had wasnt very good and far overpriced. $35 for a used Carhartt sweatshirt? $175 for an outdated and ugly snowboard jacket? $30 for a stretched out T-shirt with a faded graphic? Not sure what this place thinks it is but its certainly not anywhere Id shop nor try selling to ever again. Waste of time and lesson learned.
Great selection, I found some unique pieces. Really helpful staff at the buy counter!
Ive been here 3 times and its really hit or miss if the staff is rude to you or not. Today I was surprised because the staff was great and super friendly. While previously....not the best experience. But they have a great diverse stock and the dressing rooms are open again!
The people that work here are awful. Rude and short. Horrible customer service. Don’t waste your time here. Can only hope upper management does something about this. Particularly the girl that seems to manage the counter area.
Really nice buyers. This stores stock is super low on the the mens side of the store. So guys ... if you have gently worn summer garments...now is the time to round them up and take them to the Hawthorne location for some extra cash or trade. Damn i sound like i work there....but i dont.
Great local consignment store for higher-end brands. Curated selection of tops, bottoms, and shoes. Polite staff and great pricing for buying and selling on a wide variety of designer brands. I always find something great when stopping by.
A little disappointing. Usually crossroads is my go to place for clothes, but this location was very empty compared to others. They only has 3-4 small racks for mens clothes. I just went to the thrift store across the street, much better selection.
Just like Buffalo Exchange, this store seems to think that it is a boutique! The prices here are ridiculous. Impossible to find a dress or a pair of pants under $18. We saw a dingy, visibly used pair of shorts for $26. In addition to the unjustifiably high prices, the atmosphere is pretty unwelcoming, bordering on unfriendly. The staff made it obvious that they didnt want to be there. Overall, kind of a depressing place.I have not been incentivized to return here! Ill go across the street to 2nd Street instead.
Decided to try selling my clothes here and both times I’ve came they’ve given me a good amount. Better than Buffalo or 2nd street for sure.
Great store to shop, amazing items, however staff is rude and I felt like this woman was following me throughout my entire shopping experience.
Hilarious! This is a high-priced Goodwill store.Seriously, why would I spend $13.50 for a used, worn-out t-shirt?You can find some good bargains, ok, Ike Prada shoes for less than $100, but you can find that at Goodwill also. You also get the same odors at Goodwill.😆Whoever does the pricing must be drunk. Stained pants for $115, (Supreme) new pants for &33.00 (Patril Ervell)
Way better experience selling to these guys than Buffalo !
So much better luck selling at Buffalo exchange! The selection is consistently boring here by comparison. If they brought in cooler items and were open to unique brands/styles, it would be SO much more fun to buy and sell here. Buffalo wins across the board.
Although it’s part of the policy and we ‘agree’ toItems going straight to the floor without consulting on buy price, feel that the lack of transparency with this leads to getting ripped off and don’t feel like a fair price being offered. Feel very let down by the experience and won’t be back. If Id known I’d average $5 an item for unworn gear from Nike, vans and Levi’s, I would have not bothered and found an alternative.
As much as I love shopping here, I dont recommend selling here. They are really only looking for what I would call bougie brands... Madewell, Free People, Ann Taylor, etc. I brought in some lightly worn clothes from less elitist brands and they wouldnt take anything. I did bring in a pair of lovely Madewell jeans so Im not sure what was wrong with them. Crossroads is in the business of selling high-quality, basically elitist clothes. They arent the kind of second hand store contributing to the upcycling of clothes that keeps people from buying fast fashion. As my friend put it they will buy a rat skin if it has a Free People label on it. And its true. If you have high end clothes, sell here. If you have modest brands, dont.
Super disappointed in the staff. I sold clothing there (the pricing was just a rip off) but when I went to checkout they were taking about the previous person that was selling clothes and how “ugly” the clothes were. They were having this whole conversation while I was trying to check out. They were saying some not nice things which was just super unprofessional. Buffalo is so much better.
Great place
Poor communication during covid, clearly states on their website that they accept donations. If that changes, customers should be notified when there. Dropped off bags for selling and planned to donate whatever was not taken, was told 24hours later that donations were not being accepted, wouldn’t have walked over if I knew that was the case, and quite frankly wouldn’t have wasted my time coming here, would have just gone to Goodwill instead.
Came here twice during our 1 week stay! The selection is awesome! Clean and staff very friendly!!
I love crossroads! Had to visit both locations when I visited Portland, and the one on 23rd is much better than the other one. Or at least it was on that day. Always a great selection. Great prices for the product.
This place is way better than Buffalo exchange. I have had great success every time I come to Portland I come here and pick up at least two or three pairs of great jeans for a really low prices. Really all I want to buy his jeans at a place like this and every single time I come away with some great stuff. Highly recommend it.
No woman’s sizes above XL and only a few above L. Don’t go even bother going in if you’re plus size, just go to the nearby Buffalo Exchange.
I love this second hand store!!!! Fantastic selections and lots of designer and name brand apparel!!!! Good shoe collection... Easy to sell and trade items. Friendly attentive staff!!!! I shop here way too much =)
The other reviews are really not kidding about the unfriendly vibes there. Didn’t get a single word out of anyone there except for a loud scoff when I handed my items back from the dressing room. I was on the border about getting something there, but decided against it cause of the unwelcoming atmosphere. Go to Buffalo Exchange instead. Better selection, more variety, and friendly faces.
Horrible experience they took items they didn’t give me money for when I asked about it they said they are not reasonable for theft or lost items. The staff is awful at the Hawthorne location. Also wouldn’t give me a itemized receipt of the items they took or the price they sold them at. Very dishonest will NOT Sell or Buy there again.
Great quality used clothing. They also buy clothes, and they make it easy; you can drop off your giant bags of clothes and theyll go through them with you or while youre elsewhere if you have stuff to do and dont want to wait (the line can get quite long). 50% store credit or 30% cash for the trade-ins.The place and clothes are more upscale then Buffalo Exchange or Red Light, and they buy a season ahead.
Great place to buy and sell used clothing. Awesome purse section as well.
Crossroads has a nice atmosphere with interesting workers. If you want something cute and named brand then you should come here. They usually don’t have the same things twice because well it’s resale but the stuffs great and reasonably priced. The people that work here are A - ok 👍
Great quality clothing, cashiers were super friendly. Some of the staff was, not to sound boorish, somewhat dismissive> However, once you approach them they are super helpful, and you can tell theyre great at their jobs. Higher pricing is to be expected, though some items seem a bit marked up past their value. Overall, if you know how to spot a bargain, I would 100% suggest coming here.
Great place to get your second hand clothing and its also a great place for consignment. The staff are friendly and helpful
I had a great time selling here and was treated very well by the employees. I ended up buying some stuff by UNIQLO, Madewell and Pendleton. They have a lot of high-end designer garments here as well. I almost always find something that I love here.
I love crossroads!!! they have tons of quality, fun clothing items! Every time I come to Portland I try to make it here, and take my friends. It is such a great way to find fun, stylish items for a good price. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by all the amazing stuff, but it usually turns out good.
Love!! My new fav thrift store got amazing deals on nice brands!!
Rose is a bummer...but always good product.
Good place to buy modern hipster clothes. The selection is good but it doesnt have a huge variety of styles (at least for men). Overall very good quality items and if you find the right pieces you can make a few bucks of cash or store credit.
Very hipster vibe going on here. Prices seemed pretty inflated. I did not like that the ladies behind the counter ignored my friend when she wanted to ask a question. Nice shoe and accessory selection, but didnt find anything for myself.
The best spot on Hawthorne to get you swag updated for a lower price. Check them out, good people and service as well.
The best thrift store in town. Everything is super organized and easy to find.
Wish I could give them half a star. They are snobby stuck up girls that have bad attitudes and walk funny. I brought in all brand name stuff most with tags still on and they werent interested. I came back the next day, got the one girl who works there that isnt a stuck up c u next Tuesday and guess what? She bought everything! Jokes on you Crossroads! Ha! I will never shop or sell there again in my life.
Crossroads has a large selection of clothing and is easy to navigate. There is also a good sized mens section. The quality of clothing they sell feels more sophisticated and of a higher quality than a lot of other consignment/buyers in the area.
Worst buying and trading place ive been to, everybody in there prices you items differently. Its almost like you have to puck and choose who you are helped by just so your not low balled, theres really no structure in this place
Are you aware that this store has a 2% living wage surcharge added to all purchases? Neither are most customers. Ask them to look at their receipt at they exit the store and you will see nothing but confused faces. This policy is dishonest. If someone were to describe it as theft, they wouldnt be very far off.We like the store and buy a decent amount of things from there, but I would honestly like to see them go away, replaced by someone with more integrity.
Lots of small clothes in the medium sections, but it all looks great.
Great selection... Purposely slow employees evaluating clothes like they dont care.
The staff here are aloof at best, with some being outright rude. Its clear they have their favorites and everyone else can be ignored.
Item was tagged at $55, but was charged $56.50. Receipt read $1.50 for fair living surcharge. Would be nice if they informed their customers that they cant pay their employees without taxing the customer.
Check your bags at the door, or dont bring any and receive a token to help donate to a local charity. Clothing is well organized by color and style which is nice if youre looking for a specific item. Store is clean, bright and not cluttered like many other thrift shops.
Great selection of quality, current trend clothing. Very reasonable prices. They will buy used clothing for cash or trade.
Cute lil clothing shop w affordable digs
This is a nicer resale store who only carry quality preowned stuff. My wife usually finds 3 or 4 things she likes. I wish the mens section was a little larger.
Wide selection of clothing and accessories, found some nice pieces at a reasonable price, though some items may be priced too high. Ill be back
They have a great selection of clothing and accessories. I dont think I can revisit this location though. The staff here was pretty unfriendly and down right rude. Especially the male at the cash register. Not a good experience.
One of my favorite go-to stores for clothes shopping. Hands down best overall selection of current trends in good condition and great prices!
So much clothing. Sell your clothes here. Kinda picky but good place to stop by and sell some stuff
They always have a great selection of womens and mens clothes new and used with great prices I like the variety of styles you can find at this store I wish they had better dressing rooms but thats with most stores I can usually find a cute outfit for $50 or less not including accessories
Reasonably priced used clothes in very good condition. I love that they have Free People and other high end brands for used prices.
Good selections Rude customer service. Esp the girl in the cashier dont know her name but very racist. Not gonna come back
They are super fair, havent shopped yet but I love their selling or buying prices..... super kind sweet staff
Great stuff, top brands, great prices. They also buy your used stuff at decent prices.
Love, love, love this store .. price point .. like 10$ to .. higher, but the products are name brand and quality !! From bags and jackets and shoes and good jeans from 20$ to higher depending on brand .. the customer service is what makes the store tho, all the staff is geniuely helpful and kind .. sure its a little higher in price point but the quality of fashion is better .. and the clothes are super clean, !! :-)
Good place to get some lightly used Goods, like a more like a Marshalls or Ross. Not like Savers or Goodwill.
Great deals on awesome quality clothing. Staff is super friendly and helpful.
I went in today to go shopping with my daughter. I was given the shortest and coldest customer service I may well ever have received in my life from the woman who is apparently this stores manager. I was shocked that the woman who was not helpful to me at all or even friendly, that she operates this store? I believe her name is Chloe? How embarrassing that a company would allow such a rude person to be their manager.
My girlfriend enjoys shopping here very much. Tons of 2nd hand clothing at good prices.
My girl walks in and the pig with fake blonde hair gives her attitude from the start. Way to go! I think she manages and we overheard her and the others all talking shut abt customers. Worst experience ever. We will never be back. Go f yourself crossroads. Cant even talk to a real person on the phone even though they have two numbers you can call. Boo this place. Keep portland weird just get rid of the bit#$es! At least have a reason to be a b.. 😛
Note that the price posted with the item is not the price youll pay. Without your permission the store adds more than 2% to the price posted, calling it a living wage surcharge. Its their excuse for not paying their employees a living wage. In other words, the store underpays its employees and overcharges its customers. Avoid this store!!
The atmosphere was terrible. The staff are stuck up snobs. And the manager was so incredibly rude. I will not be sharing my business here nor will ever recommend that anyone visit this store. Very poor professionalism.
Treated me like dirt. Never selling here again.
Bummer that both times I was there employees acted like it was a hassle to ring me up. General vibe both times was pretty aloof and negative.
Small mens selection, and they dont buy very much, but still a funky, cool shop overall.
Never sold them anything but buying Ive always has a good experience. Great prices !and they also have stuff half off which keeps me going back.
High quality consignment for both buyer and seller. Love.
High quality vintage and used clothing.
Opening the door to a warm plume of odor that could only be described as 20 moth-balls fermenting in a stale pile of frumunda cheese crusted tighty whities that have been left unwashed for 3weeks. After gagging away the smell, you open your teary eyes to see a hefty slag asking how you are, while her half glazed over eyes blankly wanders to a Peice of paper in-order to appear busy. I can only guess that the lack of intelligence is from the putrid fumes of butt-crust knocking the last few fragments of brain matter from her skull. After handing this woman a bag of new, name brand clothing she slowly ogres through it giving you the chance to view the selection overpriced rags and the trophies clothes collected from mass elderly pillaging that even the intellect of goodwill wouldnt take. 5min goes by with her still flapping around your clothes like a Mallard in a robust heat. At last, shes done. So I didnt find anything that we need at this time she mumbles while pointing at a list of items they take, that ironically is everything you just brought in.In short, the people that work here are about as useful as a peephole on a dog-door. And it smells like yeasty-bearded-clam.
Good selection and prices, friendly staff
Pretty good selection but they DO NOT allow service dogs
Bigger than the downtown store!! wait i think im still Downtown?? idk im lost chicks really like this store tho and homeless people :)
The majority of my clothes come here, their 50% off selection is amazing. I try to pay just $5 per item.
Alright. Its cheaper than the other thrift shops in the area, but expensive with just about any other comparison
Nice little shop!
Favorite secondhand store. Such clothes.
Very positive people and r normally always open to help u and they say welcome when u step in normally.
Gotten some great shoe deals!
Very poor customer service. I called to see if they could check if they had a specific jacket, but after asking twice they still said they couldn’t check.
If you want to look like a normie, shop here.
What a nightmare never will I step foot near that place.....buffalo exchange rocks tho!!
They arent the best
I like!!
