This is the place in sellwood to get the best tasting coffee. The atmosphere is electric and comforting. It is how we want home to feel like nicely cozy. I ordered a latte and boy did the flavor of the coffee ring through it. Wow. Sensational. They have wifi that works and great kombucha flavors. Dont forget to check out their scones and croissants for a nice light bite to consume while you listen to your surroundings tell you secrets of the great known. Go here. Buy coffee. Be amazed. Be happy!
Rose City Coffee has it figured out. They have COVID 19 safety dialed with a loop for customers to walk through, tape on the floor, and masked employees (who you can almost hear smiling through their friendly, unpretentious, and helpful voices). We bought a bag of their Ethiopian coffee and it is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Seriously fruity and easy to drink. I also ordered a cappuccino, which was definitely on the dry side, but if that is what youre into then go for it! I will definitely be back and cant wait to try something with their rose petal distillate.
Nice little place to get coffee. I believe there is another location in Brooklyn. Good atmosphere and good coffee overall.
Rose City Coffee is s little spot in the Sellwood district that I really enjoy for the coffee, the baked goods, and really friendly folks behind the counter. It has a nice cozy feel to it, with little custom tables and lots of at on the walls. Theres also some couches and easy chairs of youre in the mood to really settle in and relax for a bit.
Disappointed that I wasnt able to get my latte. Went on a walk (destination Rose City Coffee) and got there five minutes before closing but the espresso machine was already going through its cleaning cycle. I get wanting to get out of work as fast as possible but if youre going to shut down the machines maybe you should make a note on the door that says no espresso (however many minutes early you clean the machine) before closing. Not that it would have helped me but at least I wouldnt have gone inside and then been disappointed...I should have gone to a closer coffee shop :/ oh well
I love this place it is beautiful set up and the staff is very friendly. As a coffee lover this is a must go place. It is a great place to meet for a business meeting or to go have coffee with friends. It is quite and therefore a great place for a good conversation.
A great welcoming coffee shop in a lively neighborhood. Christie, the owner, is constantly working on adding charm and quality to her shop. The coffee is excellent, theres a decent supply of snacks and a local artist featured each month. Its great for take out, or to sit and relax.
We just moved in a couple blocks away and have been a couple times so far. The pastries and drinks are all delicious (from what weve tried) and the staff is lovely! Plus they have doggie treats for the pups 😍
In a city with a ton of coffee places, my wife loves this place the best. They are always so nice and chill. Great little spot. I am happy to see their business do well in their new place.
Rose City Coffee is quickly becoming our favorite place to grab both coffee and beans in the neighborhood. If you havent been in since the new ownership, I highly recommend it. My daughter and I love their coloring books and also the chocolate chip cookies!
Finally! A coffee shop that is cozy and has a perfect mix comfy seating (couches and armchairs) and good tables to get work done. Unlimited refills on brewed coffee for here. Very relaxed and comfortable ambience, great coffee, and mix of bagels and treats for snacks. My new favorite Sellwood/Moreland hangout.
Nestled quite well in the cozy Sellwood neighborhood. Friendly and warm staff. Although the background music was of the typical bland coffeehouse variety, it was at an unobtrusive volume. I ordered a delicious latte miela (honey & cinnamon) and was slurping it down with great vigor. The interior could use a little decor help (paint color, lighting, additional character) as the vibe and ambiance arent the most welcoming. If I lived in this hood, I would definitely pop by occasionally for a cuppa tay or well-crafted espresso drink.
A Sellwood gem!! Try their bitter mocha. I come here often and they regularly redecorate with local artists work for sale. Stop in for a quick morning cup or stay a while and enjoy the ambiance, including a sweet kids play area.
Very nice and Im a regular. Solid coffees made with their own roasts. Not perfectly consistent like Fairlane down the street but friendlier. A really good spot.
We go to Rose City in Sellwood every Tues and it’s such a treat. The staff is lovely and friendly, coffee is great and they have a sweet little play room for the little one. If I lived closer, I would be there daily.
Great place to have coffee and to enjoy with friends. Its quiet place so you can work here if you want to.
Great coffee, great people, great prices. Genuinely feel that the employees enjoy their role and the owners are just as approachable. Bears starbucks hands down.
We love Rose City Coffee Co, aka “the coffee shop with the ponies!” My boys love the cocoa & play area & I love their Amaricanos.👍🏻👍🏻
What a nice little coffee shop! The staff is really great, and so is the coffee. Definitely a come and sit for a while place.
Met a friend here - not too busy, priced reasonably but not the cheapest option. Good environment, some seating outside as well, which would be nicer on a less muggy day.
Great cozy spot with coffee, whole beans, and tasty scones. They have adult coloring books, a take one leave one book shelf, and a small kid’s play room
Rose City is a neighborhood go to. Always friendly and good coffee, both beans and drinks.
We have been customers since opening. Great Service, wonderful coffee. And they help the homeless!!!
Ive been visiting this coffee roaster in Portland for a year and a half and given how many cafes I visit around town, its saying something that I keep coming back. The coffee is organic and fair trade, the baristas are all fantastic, the space is just the right mixOf cozy, comfortable, artsy and a little modern. Theres a kids area, the various lattes on point and good organic and vegan snacks available. And one of the friendlies atmospheres in PdX :-) and theyre very supportive of local businesses
We regularly buy whole-bean roasts from Rose City, and they rival anything from Stumptown, Blue Bottle, Four Barrel, or any of the other recent additions to the coffee roasting world. If you stop in to the physical location, try the latte miel. Its amazing.
Very friendly staff, good space, good coffee, and a small area to play for the little ones
My turmeric chai with hemp milk is pretty bomb
They treated me like family when I lived in Portland. Far and away the best coffee Ive had anywhere in the United States.
Wow, wonderful teas and great pour overs and lattes. Opens early.
One of the two best places on Portland for coffee (and the other one is not Stumptown).
Good coffee, friendly staff, quick service.
Awesome little coffee shop!!! Great green tea!
Yummy scones and lattes! Well be back.
The most personable staff at any coffee shop in Portland, and amazing coffee!
I picked up a pound of coffee for my french press and cant believe the difference between Rose Citys coffee and the sludge Ive been drinking! Ill be getting all my weekend coffee there from now on.
Super friendly staff and owner, decent coffee, kid friendly.
Great latte, delicious scone, and delightful barista.
Iced mocha was so delicious!
Lavender Latte was delicious!
