Stopped by here today for a Sunday breakfast, TwentySix Cafe is great! They’re currently set up as patio seating only and have a really nice set up in front of the cafe that spans a few storefronts. A lot of effort has clearly been put into the seating area, complete with varied table options and sections that offer different amounts of coverage from the sun. The patio is also covered, making this a great place to stop by rain or shine. We ordered through the doorway of the cafe (which is now operating as the counter) where a nice assortment of baked goods were on display. The cafe was busy but not overwhelmingly so, creating a lively but relaxed atmosphere- this is clearly a well loved spot in the neighborhood. We ordered some bagels (one with Lox and the other just cream cheese) and iced coffees. The bagel selection was solid and the bagels themselves were a great mix of crunch exterior and soft, chewy interior. The bagels were also very well stuffed (sometimes cafes can really skimp on the fillings, which is not the case at TwentySix Cafe) and the coffees were also very tasty. We were served by Naomi who was very friendly and helpful; as more customers lined up and placed orders she had the task of juggling taking orders and passing out the finished food- Naomi did this incredibly efficiently and made it look quite easy. I would definitely suggest this spot to anyone coming through the neighbourhood. While you’re here make sure to walk by the wishing tree (a block north and on the opposite side of the street to the cafe) and continue on to the nearby Irving Park- a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning.
WOW. Can’t recommend this spot enough. Service was friendly, vibes were good, outside seating was plentiful and cute. Food was delicious with lots of options! I had a difficult time deciding what I wanted and finally settled for a veggie egg bagel sandwich. It did NOT disappoint. I also grabbed an oat milk latte and a slice of their luscious and perfectly subtly-sweet mulberry cake. Definitely recommend if you’re lookin for something to go or a spot to grab something to sit back & enjoy at their location.
Coffee was a solid 6.5, bagel was cold and not toasted. Coffee person was rude and had a major attitude. They have a sign up Put your dam mask on completely unprofessional. I guess they dont understand what customer service is. I can see reminding people to wear a mask when at the counter but to insult them in the process is not going to be good for business. There are several other coffee shops without attitude close by.
I was a visitor to Portland, and did think that there was much beauty and many interesting restaurants.I also noticed that everyone gave seemingly automatic 5 star ratings to any restaurant that was eclectic, and a bit hole-in-the-wall.OK, I dont do that.Sitting on a rough wooden outdoor table with wooden benches automatically disqualifies that 5 star rating. The food was good, service was fine. But I wont seek out this cafe the next time Im in Portland. 5 stars should be reserved for unique, great dining, comfortable restaurants. There is no 3.5 rating available, so I gave thus restaurant 4 stars.
Enjoyed a latte here on a crisp fall morning. Excellent local neighborhood feel. The kind of experience you look for in Portland.
Excellent coffee house with light food, good beer and wine. Intelligent staff. Id be there daily if I lived 45 minutes closer
Drip coffee was nice, but lukewarm as opposed to hot. The iced cinnamon chai was nice.
Even the pandemic has not dimmed the warm, friendly vibe of this local standard. Great seating outdoors along tree lined 7th Avenue. Excellent bagel sandwiches among a range of handy plates. Good coffee. Owner tragically hip.
Plenty of room at outside seating on Sunday before 9.
Very good coffee, also love the bacon egg bagel. I usually steal one or two treats for my dog. Super friendly staff and outside seating.
Bacon breakfast burrito and cold brew were really good
How hard is it to do your job? Terrible service. Expensive food with the quality of frozen microwave hot pocket. A shining example of everything thats wrong with Portland.
I absolutely fell in love with this place. It is a wonderful place to come and work or do homework. The music was mellow and low enough to not be distracting and people were friendly and respectful. I spent a few hours here working on the covered patio and it was quiet, cosy, and lovely. The avocado toast was good, and the hot chocolate made with Oatly was perfectly foamy, but the atmosphere was the best part.
Great staff! ..and the coffee is good too 😌
Great people but no black tea and the croissants werent that good.
Love this place - super friendly staff, drinks and food are both excellent!
Lovely neighborhood cafe with excellent coffee and breakfast toast/sandwiches.
Really nice avocado toast & mochas!
Such a quaint little place operating very safely in the middle of the pandemic. The staff was friendly and welcoming. And how about that amazing little covered patio in the front! My friend and I went during a torrential downpour and loved having coffee in that spot.Dont miss the veggie bagel, its fantastic. FYI no bathrooms right now, this is really a neighborhood spot (like you walk from your house) but they were kind enough to direct me to whole foods nearby for a restroom!
Awesome patio, coffee, and great bagels
Excellent coffee, service, and seating!
Great drinks and friendly staff!
Just moved to the city, wanted to find a local coffee shop and out of all the ones Ive tried, this is by far my favorite. The ambiance, the location, and the great coffee makes for a wonderful place. Probably will continue to return for the wonderful coffee to start my day!
Cool place to meet and catch up with coworkers. this place has a cool atmosphere. they have so many great reviews for a reason.
Nice neighborhood coffee shop with cute outdoor seating. Good coffee and really friendly staff.
Super cool little cafe, great coffee and nice people. Loved the atmosphere, both the front and rear patios are chill and relaxing. I meet the owner, hes regularly working there and seems like a down to earth nice guy. Had a good conversation with a regular who plays electronic keyboards, cool vibe to the place.
The patio is so cute and the pastries are delicious. Definitely recommend!!
This cafe is a home away from home. I love the vibe, the coffee and the staff. You can tell they really value getting to know the people from the neighborhood. My favorite coffee shop :)
This cafe has some of the best coffee in the city! Service is great also. Shame on me for not knowing the mans name but the guy who waits on me every morning knows my drink as soon as I come in and Ive only been going for a month or so. The patio is rad and always different local art on the walls.
Simply amazing! Their specialty and limited time drinks are delicious!!
Adorable little coffee and pastry shop in the neighborhood. The staff is always really chill and the cold brew just hits right. Big fan of their enclosed patio and bagel options.
Great food and even better coffee!
Neighborhood feel
Excellent mocha
I love this cafe. I have lived all over Portland and this is the best neighborhood cafe I’ve found. The coffee is wonderful, the staff is delightful and the atmosphere and decor is absolutely darling. Including he best wallpaper and plants for purchase. They also have a full menu, not just bagels, but sandwiches, salads and the best savory avocado toast. They also have a magical hidden back patio. But he best thing is the community. The regulars and the staff make it feel like your part of a real life sitcom.
Edited:Ive since been back and this patio is back to its former chill glory, yay!! I love to spend relaxing morning hours studying in this space. :)---Great space, service, and coffee. However, it’s hard to enjoy this space and think straight with the poor refrigerator chugging away loudly on the patio. What could be a serene wooden space is now a vestibule for whining not unlike a million cicadas screaming, and I had to move.Gorgeous interior that’s often full of patrons, and out front has an array of street-cafe benches. Get here fast before the ones with umbrellas fill up, or you’ll be roasting in full sun until the afternoon
26 doesnt always make the list of the hippest coffee shops in Portland, but its distinct style and offerings make it among the very best in town. Quality of coffee drinks is great, even the hazelnut latte. Nice menu of sandwiches, salads and quiche, all of which can be enjoyed on the back patio or wide sidewalk if you prefer. Finally, the local color is fantastic, with more interesting conversations per capita than the competition.
This quaint coffee shop in the historic Irving district has great coffee, free wi-fi, and the avocado sandwich is to die for. The owner is super friendly and he displays artist works along the walls that lead to an covered outdoor eating area. Love, Love this spot.
This place is my favorite in my neighborhood! The baristas are friendly and they like my dog, which is another plus. They have a laid-back environment and not stuffy like some cafés. Its a nice little coffee shop on the NE. Try it out if you need a quick coffee break!
The hazelnut latte is amazing. Has an excellent covered, heated, back patio. The acoustics are a little weird inside and there is little background noise so you feel like you can hear everyone and they can hear you. Its very quiet inside and most people are alone and working on laptops. The patio is better for a coffee with a friend and the tables are larger back there.
We love this little neighborhood coffee shop. They have the best homemade hazelnut lattes and their pastries (banana chocolate and coconut) are so amazing. We like to sit out front and socialize, meeting dogs and people before wandering to Irving Park.
Awesome spot to grab a bagel or pastry and a coffee.
Usually I have the coffee wherever I go, but on the day I came here, I had already drank enough caffeine to kill a small rodent. Needed to mellow out and their tea did the trick. I will definitely be back as the environment was great and the coffee still smelled amazing.
This is a great place for a beer and some decompression. The only food Ive tried was a cheese plate with olives and I thought it was very good. I always sit out back and it might be one of the best spots in Portland to relax with a drink; especially on a nice day. Word of warning I dont think they have more than 2 beers on tap at any given time but they do change them out with some regularity.
The avocado toast was so good. The consistency was perfect. I loved the lemon flavor! The barista was also helpful and knowledgeable about the teas available.
LOVE this place. Great service, great coffee, great food, great atmosphere. This is my favorite spot to relax and read a book or sit on the patio and chat or play games with my friends.
Always love this neighborhood cafe. staff are great. the regulars are awesome.
Open with outdoor seating
Had a wonderful start to the day (a couple of days actually) made possible by the great coffee and atmosphere at TwentySix Cafe. Visiting from The Nashville area and will make sure to stop by again when I am in the area.
Great little neighborhood coffee shop/cafe. Had their avocado toast. Delicious!
Good coffee and bagels. Would recommend.
I have never written an online review before. But at 26 cafe the service was so crazy good and the food was so delicious that I feel it necessary. The vibe is welcoming and the space hits the sweet spot between cozy and hip. I love all plants in the little curated florist corner. And they carry Terrain coffee, which is Marty from Roselines new roaster as well as Tristero, a one man company who roasts exclusively for their cafe. Well worth the visit.
Delicious
They make a good iced mocah - not too sweet. Its a really small space but they make good use of it by adding extra seating out front and with a close-up patio area. Ill be back.
Got a very good mocha here one day when my milk had turned and I needed some caffeine still. Excellent mocha, pretty hot, lovely service and only a 5ish minute walk.
Good place to hang out and work or meet with friends over good coffee and food. Really friendly staff as well!
TwentySix Cafe has been a regular stop for the past couple of years on my way to work. I have always found the staff to be super friendly and they make a great Americano. Good folks, good coffee. Grateful to be a somewhat regular.
Atmosphere was great and the coffee excellent. I was greater with a smile and the service was fast and concise. Couldnt ask for more.
A tasteful interior, nice sidewalk seating, and great coffee & pastries. For years I would bike by this small set of storefronts hidden in a residential neighborhood and hoped for a cafe. Now there is one, and it is worth visiting -- thanks!
Nice cafe, tasty teas and pastries. Went for coffee with a friend and sat in the back on a covered patio. It was windy outside, but the patio was comfortable and well-lit.
Cute little cafe, with decent coffee, and tasty little sandwiches. Plenty of outdoor seating in the front and back. Great place to get work done.
Fyi no dogs allowed on the back covered patio. Tried to call to confirm but didnt pick up the phone. Coffee is good but sitting out front isnt very nice. Very small food menu, took a long time to order and wait for it. It literally took 20 minutes for a small piece of $6 avocado toast..... Then the girl at the counter had the nerve to ask me to walk to the back of the restaurant and put our dishes in the bus tub. Maybe if she was more efficient at making avocado toast she wouldve had more time to help me out instead...
This place has great food and drinks.
Great little coffee shop. Homemade pastries. Really cool outside patio in back.
Wonderful coffee, food and welcoming atmosphere. Thank you!
Quiet, quaint and tidy coffee shop. Barista was kind of snooty and pretentious, but other than that I liked the atmosphere and the coffee.
Their service continues to degrade. One of the employees, who says he runs the place, will sweep near peoples feet before the shop closes. He also likes to play extremely repetive music louder than ambiance levels. None of the staff are genuine with me, the employee I mentioned is domineering with customers (friends excluded) and I feel like Im buying drugs sometimes. Other people seem to ignore their passive aggressive behavior.
The back porch area of this cafe is superb. And the hazelnut latte made with hazelnut paste instead of the typical syrup is easily the best latte Ive ever had. Also, the baristas are really friendly!
Cozy cafe with heated outdoor seating options
Love this place. Im here almost every day. Great coffee and friendly staff.
The staff is weird and coffee is sub par for how terrible the staff is. They don’t greet you and stare at you awkwardly while you order and don’t say another word and laugh amongst themselves while making your coffee. I work in the industry so I know how to handle at myself at a coffee shop so this review isn’t written by some whiny entitled person who wants to complain. I want to like the place because it’s in a cute space but I’ll just go to goldrush a few blocks away that has much better service and staff that acts normal.
Delicious pastries, one of best lattes Ive had in a long time. Great supporter of their community!
It was just what I needed. I enjoyed a most excellent latte and delightful company. #dogfriendly
Very cute and cozy space, amazing coffee, great simple food, and very kind people. So lovely!
Another great place to get an espresso.
There were about thirty flies in the bagel display I mentioned it and he kicked me out saying I couldnt have my dog in there cuz it was a health code violation even though Id been inside for a while and I bring my dog in all the time and other people bring their dogs in I was not being rude in any way I just said I think you might have a couple flies in your display explain to me how my dog is a health code violation when you have flies crawling all over your foodEditMy dog is a service animal smells seizures
Beautiful cozy cafe that serves some excellent coffee
The coffee, food and service are great.
It took a very long time to get two coffees. The barista didnt seem to care. Coffee was fine though.
Great atmosphere and I really appreciate that they dont charge extra for soy milk! Great place to sit and relax and they have a beautiful outdoor patio when the weather is nice ☺
Great espresso drinks and super friendly staff. Love the back patio seating space!
This cafe has polished, inviting atmosphere, and a relaxing vibe. Great assortment of pastries and a delicious homemade hazelnut flavored latte.
Charming little coffee shop with a modest but scrumptious food menu tucked into the neighborhood. The back covered and heated Pasto is a wonderful place to sit and visit with friends.
Matcha latte + hemp milk = bueno
My experience was at the twenty six cafe was really good. The hot chocolate was very delicious.
Love the food and coffee. Nice to be able to sit outside out back covered.
A perfect neighborhood coffee shop. Feels like the kind of gem you would only know about if you live in the area.
Nice, especially if youre looking for a spot thats in the cut..
Pastries are very good. Espresso is OK. The espresso they use is nossa familia.Ive been here multiple times lately and the espresso has been good every time.
Good coffee on a lively neighbourhood street
TwentySix Cafe is a great neighborhood coffee shop with excellent pastries.
