These guys are the best. I began using chainsaws for cutting up stumps. An abrasive and dangerous application. Ive researched extensively online. Few people know anything about such work. But the guy here? He knew all about it. From the hard nose bar I had bought for the job, to the options for chain I needed, their benefits and safety concerns most importantly. The guy know of all the different chainsaws all chainsaw guys know. But knew extensively about carbide chains, their uses and advantages vs disadvantages.Best the guy talked safety first.Im talking serious. Ive done years of undirected research online about using chainsaws for demolition and in more abrasive scenarios. Its been impossible to find much info. But the guy here had more info than Id found two years reading every blog I came across and asking everyone I knew.Even his knowledge of a hard nosed bar? Took me a super long time to figure out. With a million guys who do chainsaw work regularly, in non abrasive situations, said was incorrect information. This is the place. For a guy who knows a bit but needs a little more information on the advantages of specific products. Like chains. And bars. And Im sure saws and heavy equipment as well.

I called the store last Thursday looking for a 36 stand-on mower (I was set on getting only a 36 stander) and when Matthew answered the phone he told me they had some coming in then asked me some buying questions like how I planned on using the 36 mower so on and so forth. He told me I could reserve one of the 36 models coming in and suggested I consider getting the all-new 32 which they also had in stock and available now. Now was important but not as important as getting what I needed after all these mowers arent cheap. I didnt know Gramely made a 32 model. Hmmmmmm.... Set in my ways and knowing I really wanted a 36 model I let him pitch the 32 and everything he said made sense so I rescheduled my afternoon and drove up there. When I got there and saw it I was sold. I purchased the 2020 Gravely 32 Pro-Stance mower and picked it up the next day. I couldnt be happier with the product and the service Ive received so far and based on my experience Id say theres a good chance Ill be making the extended drive to their location for most service and warranty repairs. The staff behind the counter was also very helpful, informative and knowledgeable. The owner of the shop also came out to introduce himself as well as delivered the mower to me on Saturday since it was Matthews day off. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars based on the overall experience from the initial phone call to the delivery of my new mower.

I was in the market for a rototiller and had heard about BCS from another local company. I looked into it and thought it pretty neat. I called Henderson because the sales person from the other shop wasnt overly helpful. Justin at Henderson helped me get the rototiller I need. I chose the BCS 710, which he had to order. He had very good communication, wasnt pushy, got me a sales price, and I thought very friendly and professional. When I went to pick it up the mechanic went over operation very thoroughly so when I got home and tried it, I had no problem. I recommend any major purchase of outdoor equipment, you see Justin.

Went in for a Bolt, the kid asked for my Name etc, when I mentioned my mower was purchased in Aurora he said Then why dont you go there for the part......I about walked out then. Then he didnt believe my Model # and looked at me like I was an idiot. I had to show him a picture of the mower with the Model # for him to look it up.....it was a Gravely Mower, not some obsolete Murray wanna-be mower. Anyway, not impressed with his customer service attitude because hed never heard of my model or something, Im not sure where the vibe came from except how dare I buy the mower somewhere else but come to Henderson for parts. The Aurora shop is the Official NW distributor for Gravely...not sure if he understands that. But, Ill go elsewhere next time for sure, he wont have to worry about that ever again.

A month and a half ago I took my 20 year old Ariens lawn mower in for a spring tune-up. I was a bit apprehensive because my mower had been under the care of another wonderful shop for many years but that shop is no longer in business and I had to find a new one.Hendersons found a problem of which I had not been aware and fixed everything up for me. I used the mower for the first time this season a few days ago and was really surprised at how well it worked. Id say its like new again.Hendersons is a clean, modern shop in a nice location. Very professional and family owned and operated.I will miss Al and Lauris shop, Grace and all the other resident cats, but am glad I found such a great new shop. I definitely recommend Hendersons.

In july of 2019 I bought a husqvarna t435 chainsaw from hendersons turf and wear for the tree service I climb for. I used the saw for about 30 days without any problems then all of the sudden the engine revved then made a pop noise, let out a puff of smoke and died and wouldnt start back up. I took the saw back to hendersons for warranty repair. They had the saw for about two weeks and said that the spark plug had more carbon build up that it should of had for a saw that was that old so they replaced the plug and it started up. When picked up the saw they tried to charge me $25 for the plug until I asked about the warranty. When I went to use the saw it ran fine until it heated up. It would not want to idle down then when it did Idle down it would die and not want to start back up. I took the saw back to hendersons and explained what the saw was doing and they said it sounded like an air leak and would check it out. This time they had it for about 3 weeks and said the fuel line had broken in the tank and had to be replaced. I went to pick it up and they gave me an invoice for $75.00 for the fuel line, carburetor rebuild kit, air filter and half hour of shop time. Unlike the last time i took the saw to them they did not give me the old parts to show me the damages which is a standard practice of saw shops. When I asked them about the warranty they said that no small engine manufacturer warranties fuel system problems. I paid the $75.00 with my personal debit card and got the saw back. The next day when I went to use the saw it had the same problem but this time was even harder to start when warm. I decided to take a second look at the warranty and found out that fuel system issues were covered under a separate EPA compliance warranty. The warranty states that any emissions parts on the saw including the fuel line were covered for 2 years and any other part that is damaged because of part failure would be replaced free of charge. I took the saw back to hendersons and told them I was having the same problem and that I used an inspection camera and the cylinder had scratches in it from running too lean because the fuel line had broken. They told me the reason the fuel line broke was because I had used gasoline with 10% ethanol. When I pointed out in the warranty where it says 10% ethanol was acceptable Levi the mechanic told me thats just what they have to say but its still not ok. He told me he would check the scratches out in the cylinder and call husqvarna. About 45min later I recieved a call from my boss, he told me that hendersons had called him and told them there was nothing they could do. He told me they gave him the laundry list of excuses they had given me but added the warranty was void because we took something off the saw. A few days later I went to pick-up the saw and try to figure out why levi thought we removed from the saw. He told me the warranty was void because there was evidence that the muffler had been removed. I told him that the marks on the nuts had to be from him removing the muffler. He asked how I got pics of the inside of cylinder without removing it and said he had no reason to remove the muffler. I told him that I used an inspection camera through the spark plug hole which was a customer serviceable part just like the muffler is because the spark arrestor screen that per the manual is supposed to be checked every 2 weeks. After that he told me that the scratches inside the cylinder looked like classic debris in the cylinder intake and that he sent pictures to husqvarna and they agreed and wouldnt cover it. When I asked him why he would send pictures to husqvarna for a warrant replacement when he said the warranty was void, he had no reply. The tech did not have enough time to tear the saw down to see the cylinder walls to be able to diagnose that it was damage due to debris in the cylinder that caused the failure. Worst saw shop ever, I wish I could give them zero stars

Im very impressed with Henderson. I recently bought a used, 10 year old, unusual model of riding mower from a Swedish manufacturer. Being frugal and mechanically inclined, I like to work on my own equipment. Well, the workshop manuals are only available from the dealers.Having never been a customer at Henderson, I called to ask about ordering the WSM. The guy on the phone was friendly, polite, and professional. He took my information and said hed do some research and get back to me.Two days later, they called and said it was ready. No charge! Wow. In the shop on a Saturday, it was very busy. I can see why.

Awhile ago I brought in a pressure washer that I bought at another store. Henderson fixed the seal that was leaking and charged what I thought was a reasonable price for the parts and labor. Less than three hours operating time later, the seal broke again. I took it back to Henderson and they determined the problem was an inherent design problem of the washer, the key kept riding up the drive shaft and destroying the seal above it. Henderson fabricated a collar to fit around the drive shaft to prevent the key from riding up. When I came back to pick up the washer, they told me there would be no extra charge for the work. Even though I told them I would be willing to pay extra for the modification, they refused to take my money. Atta boy, Henderson!

When I was in the market for a new pressure washer I looked around at a number of places to purchase one. When I called Henderson Turf and Wear the gentleman I spoke with was very helpful, up-beat, and quoted a very good price. So, even though I live 35 miles away, I decided to drive there. Once there, I was treated very well. I was shown all the particulars of the pressure washer. I was extremely happy with the level of service I received there as well as the price. So now, 3 years later this pressure washer is having some problems. When I considered my options for repair, I didnt hesitate to drive the 140 miles to Henderson Turf and Wear (70 miles round trip X 2 to drop off and then pick-up). What a mistake! Everything had changed there. The man who wrote up the paper work for the repair acted as if he was doing me a favor by helping me. He was in serious need of a personality transplant and did not bother to discuss any particulars with me. I told him I wanted the spark plug replaced and the oil changed in addition to the repair. One week, two weeks, three weeks went by. No phone call from this outfit, so I called. Its not ready!, thats ALL I was told! No apology for the delay, no further discussion, that was it! It was over 5 weeks before it was ready for pick-up. I was not happy when I walked into their business to pick up my pressure washer! Guess what? They had not replaced the spark plug and oil as I had requested! Again, no apology...no nothing! As I was standing there waiting for them to accomplish what I had requested when I dropped the machine off, I noticed a very small sign on a wall about 9-10 feet off of the floor. It read: Shop time 14-21 days. It was so inconspicuous that I doubt very many customers would have noticed it! AND, it wasnt 14-21 days! It was over 5 weeks!Lesson learned! I had tried to be a loyal customer to this place. I had wasted the time and gas money to travel 140 miles to give this company my business...never again! I suggest you stay away from this business. It was a terrible customer service experience. I am a business owner and if any of my employees treated a customer like this they would be finding another job!P.S. The man I dealt with was a smallish, older man who appeard to have some level of physical impairment. The only reason I mention this is to identify him and maybe, just maybe the owner will decide to speak to him regarding the level of service he delivered to me and perhaps to others.

Had my Ariens Mower for 30 years. Ive never had a single problem with it. Terrific Mower!! I took it to Hendersons Turf for a tune-up. It was ridiculously expensive and started exactly one more time afterwards. So I took it back, not to complain but to see if they could fix it. I was told no. the parts no longer available. Would I like to buy a new one? Hell no! So I hung on to it even though I bought a new mower and this summer I decided to take it in to Woodstock Mower and asked them if they could fix it and they did. Now, why couldnt Hendersons fix it? They are the authorized dealer of Ariens in the area. and why did it start just one more time after I took it there? I can figure it out. Can you? Steer clear of this place folks. Greedy to the point of criminal.
