This place has the most diverse product selection I’ve ever seen in a grocery store. You can find everything from entire 3-foot aloe leaves to jars of tahini to Russian sodas to homemade pasta. Everything is usually very fresh and the meat selection is well-priced and very high-quality. Staff is friendly and unique and the store is usually uncrowded. Plus there’s a machine where you can crush your own oranges and take home the orange juice which is pretty great.

This is one of my favorite stores that offers everything I need. it has a great selection of international food, mainly Mediterranean, fresh herbs and vegetables, seasonal fruits, meat, olive oil, baghlava, breads, and etc. The store is always clean and organized. To my experience if you are looking for something specific for your Mediterranean food recepie that you could not find anywhere else, you should check this store, You will be surprised.

Its a shame that Ive been living a mere 12 minutes away from this cornucopia & have not discovered it till today. With my experience shopping in diverse & demanding communities all over the West Coast, Ive had quite a few impressive finds rivaling the options in California & Washington. First & foremost, an incredible and well-curated chocolate selection, especially soy-free, from local, regional & international craft sources. Second, local ground goat. Then, camel milk. And amazing small production specialty alcohol from various small regions of France, Italy & other countries. Finally, truly exceptional baba ganoush. High quality pasta, olive smorgasbord. I feel Ill be adding more on my future regular visits.

We made a catering oder on Tuesday to be picked up on Thursday last week. We went to the Barbur location on Thursday to be told that they didnt receive any order. Now imagine you have guests in your home waiting for the food, and there is no food to present. How many of we are sorry and we apologize can you take in order let this terrible experience slides away. I dont think enough apologies would suffice. This is a terrible way to run a business. No excuse here and they need to have a better way for ordering online instead of sending an email.

Great stuff at this grocery store. I appreciate shopping here and lately it seems like the check out process is faster. Thats the only con for me. The have 3 checkout stations and the line situation can get convoluted. A stricter, more structured policy would help us customers. Otherwise, great store.

This is such a nice little market. They have a great international food selection and really reasonable prices. The deli smelled AMAZING! Not sure what it was, probably the Lebanese pizza. Was worth driving down from Vancouver to check out.

This store is so overpriced on most of their items its nearly offensive. Now, Im the type who can appreciate a good product but I do have the expectation that it also come with good service and decent convenience if I am going to pay a premium but I have never been able to rely on this store to provide me as a paying customer either. My issues arise first from the confusing mess of a maze they call their aisles that funnel you in just two directions down very narrow walkways that at peak business hours are nearly impossible to get through without having a stranger or more likely strangers rub some part of their body up against yours and this can happen so many times before ever leaving the store that I cant help but to feel like somebody around there owes me a FING sandwich or dinner and a drink for having just helped themselves to first base with me! So, if youre someone who doesnt enjoy small enclosed or crowded spaces I advise you dont come here. Like, ever. Also, if you think you might require any assistance in locating a particular product I suggest you do your homework prior to your arrival so that you already know where that item is because finding anyone available to actually help you with something once youre there is next to impossible if not actually impossible. ALSO, if you should remember you have a six pack of beer bottles you need to bring back in for your deposit I would most definitely find some other place to go, nearly any other place or to simply just throw your bottles and kiss your deposit goodbye because although this store has two machines for customers to return their recycling the machines generally are never in operation and as Id mentioned before there wont be anyone around to service them if they need be in order to use. Finally, the one and only good thing I think I can say about this place is that its next door to a liquor store which Ive found very convenient in helping to soothe me after the induction of a near debilitating anxiety attack that this place causes everytime I step foot onto the property. Hell, even the parking lot is crowded, confusing and just outright atrocious. But yeah, theyre right next door to a liquor store, so, thats a plus. :/

Living less than a mile away from World Foods, I have been here many, many times. They have a wide variety of high quality fresh meats (marinated or plain) including grass fed beef. Any time I want to treat myself to a top-notch home cooked filet mignon, it comes from World Foods. They also have many frozen ‘exotic’ meats... wild boar, kangaroo, elk, buffalo, camel. The produce is good quality as well.And then there’s the hot and cold deli. The cook pizzas fresh when you order and many other prepared hot foods which all smell a-m-a-z-i-n-g.The rest of the store is filled with middle eastern and other international grocery items that you’d be hard pressed to find just about anywhere else in Portland. They have an impressive selection of wine and beer as well.If you’ve never been to Barbur World Foods, stop in sometime and I’ll bet you walk out with something you’ve never tried (or even seen) before that you’ll love.

I love this place! I usually go and make it a friend who loves to cook date. There are still manner of beautiful various ethnic odds and ends incl spices, gobs of different ones and wines. Did I mention the lovely cheeses? My favorite wrap up to my visit is to lunch or dinner at the deli - which is invariably busy, busy... I get my faves which are the toum, hummus, beet salad and finally a couple of new things eg roasted veggies, chicken, lamb stew etc... I only gave four stars because it is hard to get around in the produce section especially if you want to linger and see all of the less common produce...

Its OK if you like that kind of atmosphere to dine in food was a little blan

This place is like a hidden gem! Even though it is right on Barbur Blvd its easy to just breeze right by it - especially with all the traffic! But I highly recommend slowing down to stop in sometime. We got some unique food items that were just delicious, including this one rose-flavored cookie that was incredible! Friendly staff. Aisles are a little small...but jam packed with great stuff!

When we visit it they had a special gondola for Ramadan. One of the best International retail stores with not so cheap prices but not very expensive either. Mostly Arabic, Turkish and Persian speciality. With few Indian and Asian products.

Great prices and lots of products you wont find in other grocery stores particularly for Middle Eastern food. The meat and cheese I have bought here has been excellent, their lamb is spectacular. The produce section is small but if something is in season it is going to be great.

Fantastic Middle Eastern food staples. I cook a lot of Armenian food and they they carry all sizes of bulgur, hard-to-find spices, Armenian string cheese, pomegranate molasses, soujouk, grape leaves, many kinds of feta cheese, manouri cheese, phyllo dough, the best sumac, and many varieties of rice. The deli is divine and features many hot foods. Must try: pitas baked to order. Watch them ploomp up as they bake in the wood-fired oven. Buy more than you need, because when they hand you that warm brown shopping bag, it’s impossible not to open it, breathe in the aroma of fresh-baked bread, then tear into one. Don’t forget the fresh-made hummus and garlic sauce!!!

I always love going in to discover something new and get old favorites. Their made-to-order pita is scrumptious dipped in any of their fresh hummus or the sauce of the savory meats. The lentil soup is among the best I have had. The produce is of very high quality and the fresh-squeezed orange juice is a decadent treat. I only wish I lived closer!

Love this store! You can find anything you need here, and so much more in terms of imported foods. Great Turkish olives, dolma, etc. Wonderful selection of wines. I love coming in for fresh pita made in the woods stove oven, lebanese pizzas, shawarma and so much more! Customer service is efficient and always very friendly, I highly recommend a stop in!

Even though it says world foods, it is mostly Mediterranean. That being said, for such a small place, it is pretty amazing. They make fresh pitas to order and have a great selection of meats that you might not be able to find on this side of the river. Good produce and packaged meats, cheeses, and dry goods as well. If you are ever in the area, you should at least swing by. The only downside is that there isnt a lot of parking

I arrived around 1:30 pm, store was ready to navigate, got what I needed quickly. Only thing that slowed me down was checking out all the great items in the butcher counter.

This place has awesome products. I come here often but dread the line situation. It takes to long to check out and the line can be a free for all with some folks cutting others. Need more organization in that aspect. Otherwise I would come here more often.

The hot deli, the meat counter, the cheese, the wine selection, and the selection of elegant foreign/ kosher food is why I love this store!

We were delighted with the store. The deli had loads of hot and cold items. Each person we met was friendly and very helpful as it was our first time there. We will go again. Worth the trip from Salem.
