I tried to go in to check out a product in person today, but the security guard wouldnt let me in. He kept asking if I knew why I was there, didnt seem to believe/trust I had reason to be there, and wanted an employee to escort me through the store. Tried to just go in, he wouldnt let me.A few weeks ago, another employee at this location told my femme friend that this isnt a hardware store when she asked where to find nails.I havent been to a Harbor Freight in years, but wow, what a terribly memorable experience.

Clean store. Super friendly people working there. Very willing to help out. Picked up an inch pound torque wrench. I do miss the coupons. Guess Ill have to pay for membership if I want the really good deals. ;-)

Big one of their stores, been there forever. Wonder if that is first one period, like started in Portland. Update (store#46, HF started not in oregon) Like very first in world MacDonald on 92nd & Powell Update (store #3, MD started in CA, but 3rd oldest & oldest in Portland) and very first Burger King where Burnside & Stark cross, am I correct. Would have given 5 stars but wouldnt let me plug in a sander to make sure it worked before I left. I had returned one that failed the second I hit the trigger.

At the bare minimum I expect stores to have their products shelved directly above their price. Not swapped with other products, so when I’m expecting $8.99 and I get charged $11.99, I feel the store has dishonesty represented said product.This is why minimum wage is called minimum wage, the wage a person earns when they learn their job. The store shelf stocker is incompetent, or under the minimum intelligence for minimum wage?I didn’t care for the cashiers attitude when I questioned the price at check out.

Its usually a great trip every time. And they didnt really do anything wrong. Its just frustrating when you can buy a safety mask for hazardous materials here but not the replacement filters. They also werent able to let me know where I could find any. So we went to Lowes figuring theyd have some, with no luck. Now so far, its looking like well have to order online and wait or just get another new mask. Very inconvenient.

The staff is always accommodating and knowledgeable. I feel like the quality of tools they carry now is getting better and better as well.

Picked up a Predator Generator at 400.00 dollars less than Amazon. Great prices.

Used to love harbor freight put prices have gone up so much over the last 5 years that its harder to find lots of good deals I used to be able to walk out of there with dozens of items tools supplies and be very happy with them out that I spent for all that I got it seems like any other place as far as price wise and what you get

Great prices but security wouldnt let me in to the store unless I leave my backpack with him. No notice requiring this policy on the windows or anywhere else. I wasnt going leave over $1700 of electronics with someone else so I left. Im sure ace ware would be more than happy to let me have my backpack with me while Im shopping with $800

If you like repairing things or creating anything then this is the place for you. My sister and I just left and we are already planning our next trip.The staff is outstanding, the cashier was very nice and gave us excellent customer service. The prices are amazing and there is an incredible variety of products to choose from. In fact, there is so much variety it was truly shocking.I got a ten pack of Black face masks for $1.99, a denim apron for $3.99, a dimmable portable light for $3.99, and so much more. The prices are amazing.Not only am I returning but I recommend that everyone go and afterwards I guarantee that you will tell everyone you know to go to. There is something for everyone.

The shelves are pretty bare in this location compared to the Vancouver one Im used to. Also, staff isnt as friendly. They have good prices though and are a good place to go for inexpensive tools and accessories. I could spend hours here.

04102021 This gentleman William the sales manager denied me access to be in the store because I wouldn’t wear a face covering. I will not do business with this place ever again because they discriminated against me. Last time I checked discrimination of any sort is against the law. Never been so disgusted and miss treated ever. I will be pursuing this matter.

Whoever the guy was working the checkout today deserves a raise. He tactfully and kindly managed a (maybe?) schizophrenic guy trying to pay with miscellaneous gemstones (?!?), and helped me with my in depth questions all while ringing up customers with a line 5 deep. No one else in sight. Chapeau friendly register guy.

The first time I came in the harbor fright was last week. I wanted to buy a power generator.So i ask if they had anyone sales reps or customer service or someone that could help me with a generator!..because i new nothing about them!. 2 clerks on 2 resisters only 5 men in line.4 of them at cash register lets say #1 because a woman was working it. miss chattiest was having conversations with each one...there was a man on register #2 with one person at his register i think it was a simple exchange, Anyways i was told wait my turn!someone will be over there in a few minutes..she said it very disrespectful!! I stood there ready to spend well over $200. More then 20 minutes and not one person would even came to help me!!i ask one more time was someone going to help me? She still had a customer in her lane .but the other guy just been standing there this whole time doing nothing but playing store wiping down his area..now i had been there another 15 minute..I mad now i had enough! Sold me two defective welders. Refused to give me my money back without charging me a 20 percent restocking fee. You cannot restock something that is defective. That is horrible customer service and straight up them trying to line their pockets. The manager was extremely rude and treated me like I was lieing. Jeff the manager also lied to me about having the item in stock. He completely refused to take care of my issue.

This has got to be one of the better locations of the numerous Harbor Freight stores in the Portland area. They have a ton of free parking and the staff at this location is super friendly and know exactly what they have, where it is, and have excellent product knowledge. I will actually drive the extra 6 miles vs another location that is closer to where I live because of the first rate service you receive there.

I love this place. I can usually find what I need at a lower price than the big stores. I appreciate having a lower cost option for tools because I dont use them often and I dont work them hard, so it works good for me.This is the place to buy magnets. Everywhere else magnets are priced like theyre made of gold or something. Harbor freight has magnets at reasonable prices.

The cashier Kimberly mustve been having a bad day cause her attitude made everyone in the store uncomfortable. Seriously if your not in a good mood why even come to work. Fighting with your coworkers in front of customers makes the whole place feel toxic. But hey looks like they are hiring.

They have reasonable prices, just be aware of the quality. Some things dont need to be top name brand in order to be perfectly functional, others youd be better off spending the extra money. Just be aware and you can get some good deals here.

This is a great place for tools, supplies for mechanics, welding, painting, woodwork, organizing and just a fun place to walk around and browse in the mornings.

They have lots of different tools at a very good price. There not top of the line but for the price there most definitely worth it. The people there are nice and always willing to give you a hand finding whatever you need. If there out they will call around for you and try to help you find it at another location. Its a great place especially if your in a hurry there very fast!

The store is run pretty well, and the merchandise keeps getting better, - but its only thru more stolen intellectual property and patent infringements, to build cheaper Chinese knock-offs of higher quality products. The more we shop here, the more we damage the United States and Germany and all the great innovation counties.Its exactly like shopping at Wal-Mart.We shouldnt... But still we do.

Did not know why I was there, even though management had arranged my visit. Finally, they got their act together, and found what I was there for.On the phone management was exceptionally helpful; staff less so.
