The service is good but the prices are outrageous!! Jones Welding Supply is way more reasonable by almost half and, consequently, is the place I choose to go! And just in case any of you are wondering, No,Im not a spokesperson for Jones Welding in any way, shape or form. I just happened to enjoy going there and the prices are considerably better in my opinion.

I have had a better experience at every welding shop in the Portland metro area. Nothing but unhelpful here.First I met with a very inexperienced sales rep. They did not understand the product line or basic terms. They spent an hour trying to find a part that is listed on their site. After they spent an hour they disconnected the call.After waiting an hour for a return call. None came. I called by asked to talk to a manager. They said Kathleen was in charge. I asked for her. They said she would be back after lunch (10a). I said I would call back.I called back and asked to speak to Kathleen. They said she left for the day. I asked who was in charge. They said the manager was in. He comes on the line after 15 minutes of holding.He explains it is an odd part. They do not stock and do not have it anywhere. Crazy thing is rep who know nothing had called back after I asked for a manager says they are in California Warehouse and will take 3-4 days to get. The manager says he does not know why they told me that. There are none and it is a special order.I explain this is ridiculous. It is like no one knows what is going on. (TIgard Airgas Says they are in stock at Columbia). He explains he had a family emergency this morning and had to leave. He explains he was trying to help the rep. When I explain I am not used to the level of service they are delivering. He explains that it is a very successful branch.It is successful because it is the MAJOR AIRGAS store, NOT because of their excellent service. This branch is the worst AIRGAS in the Portland Metro. If there is another branch that has what you need buy it there.Last I explained the part he was telling me was uncommon and not stocked anywhere IS. I explained I ordered 4 pieces of WES124 from OXARC who took and placed the order in 5 minutes. I then explained the other RARE part WES123 was in stock at Central Welding. He said he doubted anyone stocked these parts. BASCALLY calling me a liar.I hung up and drove to Central and picked up the parts. While I was there I purchased the other items I needed. Couple hundred feet of hose and a bunch more couplers and bushings.What I can say is in the future I would call Central, Oxarc, Praxair, Jones Welding, Independent Welding, Johnstone, Grainger, Newberg Steel, or any other branch of Airgas (Most Airgas in PDX Do not hold as much stock as Columbia Blvd).It is sad that this particular branch has issue with the employees who basically have come to feel that their numbers make them irreplaceable. EVERYONE is replaceable. I have personally let go individuals who develop this type of work ethic.BOTTOM LINE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Went in today to trade up a tank of argon. Needed a size bigger. They were very helpful in getting me a good size tank. second time coming in but first time making any kind of purchase. I will be back. Great customer service

Went to get an industrial oxygen tank and two, grill sized, propane tanks exchanged. Oxygen seemed like a normal price ($44) but the propane tanks were $42.78 each to exchange with an extra 17.30 for hazmat fee!?! It was already loaded in my car by the time I got the prices so I just bit the bullet but I dont think Ill be back.

I came in for welding supplies. theyre fully stocked and have anything youll need. if you want specialty equipment, youll want to order ahead i.e. gold front lenses. mostly only carry stuff made in china though (RADNOR)wouldve given five stars if I saw more quality u.s.a. gear
