Gripstone is a fantastic place for kids and adults alike. Lots of options and a variety of options on each wall. Plenty of bouldering spots and lots of variety for auto belay locations.Nice cafe area. Nice bathrooms. There is a workout room, a party room, and a yoga studio. Options for daily passes as well as 5 day punch cards and memberships.Staff is encouraging and helpful. Prices for gear for both rentals as well as purchase are reasonable.Got a kiddo with energy to expend... there is no better place to let them climb the walls!

Tony and Beth have done an awesome job of making Gripstone not only a great place to learn to climb and get in great shape; it is also a wonderful community, very positive and friendly and a great experience for climbers of all skill levels as well novices too. Climbing is the best exercise ever! The gym has so many different routes that you dont get bored plus they have yoga which is the perfect complement to climbing. I have belong to all kinds of gyms my whole life and never did I think I would find something fun and challenging. Tony is also the best trainer in the world!!!!

I started climbing two years ago after knee replacement surgery. Im technically a senior, but have found a sport that anyone can do! I have found a friendly community of all age groups united by our love of climbing. The staff is helpful and encouraging, the environment is family friendly. Come join in the fun!

Very good rock climbing gym. All the staff are very helpful and polite. There is a lot to do at the gym and they change up the courses constantly so theres always something new to work on. I only suggest you bring your own shoes because the rentals are pretty bad.

We drove past this place and went inside as the kids wanted to and were just chauffeurs anyway. Wasnt super busy on a Sunday but had a few families in there, the staff was awesome, the owner was very nice. There were a few ticky tack charges that werent disclosed up front but they are usual in places like this.Overall, very very impressed. $12 for kids for all day! Harnesses included and a lesson, I had to manage the kids which was a bit tiring with 2 and I wish they showed me all of the good kid areas but it was fine, they showed like 8 out of 10 that were good for the kids.There were some more serious climbers there and it was great watching them do their thing! The kids walls were nice and easy then it was nice to move on to some more challenging things with the kids.I would go back in a heartbeat, reasonable cost, great facilities very few restrictions and what was in place was common sense to me. Oh, we were there near closing and they opened up the little secret doors as my kid called them for inside the big climbing walls, they werent allowed in but it was great to see inside them! So fun!

This is my son’s favorite place in the area. We just held his birthday party here and it was the easiest best experience I could have asked for. Ally and Daniel were there just for our party and gave the kids so much personal and special attention. Well worth the money every time especially for the party. I seriously can’t thank you all enough from the owners to the hourly employees, y’all were just a class act.

Gripstone is an amazing, magical place! Epic climbing routes, amazing smoothies and coffees, wonderful staff. Its so colorful and spacious with such a good vibe that you want to move in!! Tony and Beth are awesome!

The staff is amazing! The owner, Tony, is friendly. The staff is super helpful with first time and the seasoned climbers. The pricing is reasonable. There is something for everyone there for all skill levels, however, there is no crack climbing available if thats your passion. The cafe is cute and the food is good. The smoothies are excellent. It is small by comparison to their counterparts in other areas. They offer a variety of classes to check out as well as top rope and lead belay certifications (for their gym only as each gym has their own set of rules to follow but once you got it you can pretty much test out and certify anywhere.) For those bigger folk trying to find something fun and less stressful then going to a gym, I highly recommend trying it out. While it does challenge your body in ways a standard gym doesnt there are sections of the gym that are easier to start out on and youre having so much fun you dont realize your working out. They are very tolerant to my two year old learning to climb as well. He sometimes gets less interested in literally climbing the walls and ops to run and jump on the fall mats. The atmosphere is all in all encouraging and family like. Its now our familys new addiction. You might try a new route and fail but youre itching to go back the next day to concur it!

This is an incredible addition to out growing town. It is suitable for all ages and skill levels. It has a very nice cafe area. The prices are competitive and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Had a few hours to kill between mtb rides. Stopped in with my wife and 3yr old Jun. We all had a great time. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff. Wouldnt change a thing .

This place is amazing! Probably the best climbing gym experience I have ever had. From the moment I walked in I was impressed with the facility and warm welcome from the staff. The staff did a great job teaching us and made us feel safe and relaxed. And we had so much fun! I took my five year old daughter and she made it to the top of several climbs and had a blast! Great exercise, fun, and confidence booster for her! I would highly recommend a visit to anyone and I will certainly be returning.

When companies are family oriented and model their customer service accordingly then it is worth my time to leave them a positive review. My boys love Gripstone. I love the flexibility it offers when we are on an off season with other sports. It still gives my boys something to do without the stress of having specific times and days that we must go.

This is such a fun and family friendly climbing gym. The owners and their daughter are awesome. They teach you everything you need to know about how to be safe while climbing, so experience is not required. They have auto belays so the kids can climb by themselves without the parents on belay. They also have great climbing tracks. I love the bouldering wall.

The walls were decently sized but I wish it could be bigger. Also the one day price is pretty high compared to others. Still a nice experience but with these changes it would be better

We had my daughters 14th birthday party at Gripstone and what a fabulous place with terrific staff! My daughter and her friends really enjoyed it. The staff was very kind and helpful, and we were able to rent a room to have pizza at the last minute. Would highly recommend!

I just got a year long membership to Gripstone and I LOVE it! The facility is amazing, the climbing routes are fun and well thought out, and the staff are wonderful. Everything from the Check-in process to the safety check is streamlined and easy. This is such a great new addition for Prescott! Fun for everyone from the novice climber to people looking to seriously train.

I love GSC! As a climber who climbs predominantly outside I was pleasantly surprised how amazing this gym is. All the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, the gym’s safety standards are top notch and the gym itself was very clean and inviting. The variety of climbs and difficulty of the routes keep you busy all day. Also a great place for kids (with adult supervision)... my daughter climbed for hours and had the best time! We definitely will be spending a lot of time here.

I was so excited to hear Prescott was getting a climbing a gym. After months of waiting for it to open I went opening day and it definitely lived up to all the hype!! This gym is perfect for new climbers or people with more experience, and each route is clearly marked for different skill levels. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgable. Cannot wait to go back!!!

Very good and fun place. It’s a little expensive if your just planning on a one day thing because there’s are a few one-time-fees but if planning on going a lot it’s reasonably priced. The people there are very friendly and you don’t feel out of place even if you are a first time climber. Would recommend.

Came to Arizona for a climbing trip but it rained the first day so we found Gripstone. Staff was excellent and got us through our belay and lead passes quickly! I wish there were more gyms like this in Ohio!

Pros: friendly staff, and good route-setting.Wish it were taller. The routes dont get changed out very frequently. Wouldnt recommend althe expensive membership: the climbing league prevents paying members from being allowed to climb all the routes set in the gym. The limited hours make it difficult to find time when it isnt crowded, so training can often feel like a lost cause. The music selection (metal, really?) leaves a lot to be desired.

To Kaiden Cam, the 1 star review... you did not do your research before you showed up! You only have to be 14 to be left alone at the gym... there are young children climbing with guardian supervision! You can not just drop your kids off like its a daycare. Be responsible and watch your kids while they climb. My family loves this facility! It is a wonderful place to spend quality family time together, much needed in Prescott and much appreciated. Keep up the great work faculty and staff!

Made me not want to climb. With how controlling the staff is and how tiny the walls are was a terrible experience. This gym is better suited to kids birthday parties and boot camp for at risk climbers.

My daughter had her 11th birthday there today. the gripstone staff had a surprise additional party that had a large capacity. InitiallyI was concerned because my party was relatively small and I was worried we were going to have to wait in long lines. They hustled while even understaffed. They didnt make us wait in line and did their best to make my daughters party enjoyable. Ryan was great!

Very disappointed! We filled out everything then found out you have to be over 14 to anything. And you still have to take classes and get certified to do most things. We ended up being there for a hour and did nothing!

To the one star review. You are so incorrect. Adult supervision for under 14 years of age is normal for this activity. Go to any climbing gym and you will be told the same.
