A fantastic store with knowledgable and professional staff. They took me through all the options available when purchasing a new tripod and were consumately patient. The result was that I purchased exactly what I needed. An ideal shop for the amateur or professional photographer. Highly recommended.

The staff at the Preston store know their stuff. They spent time ensuring my daughter knew what she needed to know before even looking at a camera. We didnt get the hard sell and with advice from the Panasonic rep regarding his experience my daughter felt she was making an informed decision. We purchased new and preowned products. Unfortunately the banking network failed that afternoon yet the store very kindly reserved the items until we could return and pay for everything in full. Highly recommended and we will return.

Really disappointed with the quality of the photo. No studio lighting and the background isnt white. No structure was given during taking the photo, and the photographer seemed in a rush but I understand that because the place was busy.

Managed to get my sensor cleaned pretty much whilst I waited today - had quite a bit of dust on the sensor.Was dealt with politely, professionally and very efficiently by Paul. Great customer service 😄📷

I have been trying to purchase a memory card for my old Nikon D50 camera with no success but when I phoned Wilkinson Cameras and spoke to Liz she instantly solved my problem. Liz gave me all the knowledge I required that other people could not. Well done Liz, I will certainly use Wilkinson Cameras again, it is a pleasure doing business with them.

Generally I dont give bad reviews(and i dont like giving bad reviews)But after being told wrong information, which resulted in a refund.And now a bad excuse for getting film back in have to give them a 1 star.When a salesman lies then gets shown they are wrong and doesnt apologize for it. And this is after more than 3 times lying about pricing I cannot ignore those facts.Then after being told 7 to 10 days for film to come back from the lab only after 14 days told some rubbish excuse about no delivery.Will happily pay more to go to somewhere else. I have receipts and witnesses for the how bad they are.

Yes the staff were very helpful and didnt mind talking about my present ideas yet gave sound advice to help recognize ways to enhance my future photographic experience . Excellent - I have just returned from a trip to Preston where i visited Wilkinson cameras. I received lots of help from the manager Keith who was patient with me and helped me through the complex task of shortlisting some cameras (never an easy task). Im really grateful, and really pleased to have received such excellent help from someone who is clearly knowledgeable about what he sells. I was warned not to go into this shop by a colleague, in regards to how rude the staff are. When I did go in, it was a quiet Thursday afternoon and two or three staff members were stood in the corner of the shop. One looked up and then away as quick as possible to avoid eye contact. After 10 minutes of me awkwardly waiting and hovering around a cabinet, one finally came over to see what I needed. The guy had no clue how to answer any questions I had, which is fine - except when you skirt around them, pretending to, wasting both of our time - before eventually getting Keith the manager, I think. Who was as useful as a chocolate fire guard, and as polite as a US corrections officer. Subsequently they lost out on the £3,000 I ended up spending online, because they just weren’t interested. This is such a shame, the reason I go to a high street retail store is to get customer service and advice that I can’t from the Internet, in this store that doesn’t happen.... I can confidently say, my colleague hit the bullseye when he said the staff had no social skills and deal with customers obnoxiously.

The whole process was conducted on-line and Wilkinson Cameras sales team could not have been more helpful in answering numerous questions about video cameras and associated equipment. The answers were comprehensive and included links to additional information resources. After considering all the information, I decided to order a microphone and a bag. Given their helpfulness, I would have liked to purchase the chosen camera as well but unfortunately there was too big a price difference to justify. What I did purchase was efficiently handled and delivered in perfect condition. Communication was excellent throughout, even down to notification of the delivery arrangements. I would definitely recommend Wilkinson Cameras.

Sorry but I’m rather disappointed with a telephone conversation I had with someone this morning. I ordered a photograph last Saturday and was asked to ring at the end of the week. Whoever answered the phone did not want to know. Didn’t ask my name or a order number just asked what it was and how big. I told home quite big and acrylic. He said i can’t see any tubes or parcel so no Orders come in on a Thursday. I told him we wereTold to ring in at the end of the week. Shall I ring tomorrow? His reply well you can try. Absolutely appalling customer service !

I frequent the Wilkinson camera store in Preston, it’s the closest, and have visited their stores in Liverpool, Lancaster and Kendal. All good. I have bought cameras at their Digital Splash shows, all at a good discount/special show prices. This review was triggered by the purchase of the Panasonic 42.5mm f1.7 lens, intended as a portrait lens. Had my eye on it for a while and, when Wilkinson’s online were showing at a very good price I grabbed it. Excellent, timed slot, free delivery by DPD. Very happy with the lens.

Great place to shop I come here for all my camera needs the staff are always helpful and full of great advice, brought my dad here when he wanted a new camera and he got all the advice he needed and wasnt up sold to a better model. They also have some great offers at certain points in the year where you can get some real bargains.

Staff were very friendly and very helpful, a staff member even helped me when he was off duty. I got an excellent camera for an excellent deal and staff even matched Currys price for the Macro lense I wanted. Great service, fully recommend!

Ive just spent a good half hour in the Preston Wilkinsons store where I was served by a young man called Simon. I was looking at mirrorless cameras and he really couldnt do enough to help. Although I did not buy a camera; my intention was to get information and have a physical look at the options, Simon was really helpful. He went to the trouble of showing me about 6 cameras and explained the pros and cons of the different systems and gave me some printed information to consider. Highly recommended - Thanks.

I had great help and advice over the phone, extremely helpful Jody at the Preston branch, I have purchased on three separate occasions with them on line. Very satisfied customer .

Absolutely awful customer service. Gave them a camera lens for repair; after two months I had heard nothing so went into the store. They had no answers, but stated they would chase the contracted repair service and call me back.After not hearing from them for another six weeks we went into the store to complain. Manager said he would get to the bottom of it and ring us.......of course.......nothing. This cycle repeated until I told them just to get me the lens back unrepaired. It goes without saying that they didnt contact me once it came back, I had to go in and ask.To cap it off, they would not even give me back my deposit after almost five months of shoddy service. Avoid!!!

I would certainly recommend Wilkinson Cameras and they are very helpful in giving information and their postal service is absolutely spot on. Yes I would do business with them again.

Had problems paying via the website three times (probably because of my Kaspersky blocker) but it took several hours each time for the product to reappear as available. However, camera was despatched very promptly and arrived when the courier said so.

I went in to buy a camera for my other-half and no one helped me, I felt that because I was a teenager that they looked down on me. After trying to ask questions and only getting short, quick and in useful answers I decided to go nextdoor to Jessops where they was very help full and ordered in the camera to pick up the following day. From now I will buy all my cameras and accessories and services from Jessops.

I have used Wilkinsons Cameras in Preston for a few years now. Having read the reviews already posted, I would have agreed particularly with the one from four years ago, (having been treated to a sales assistant being reprimanded when he was dealing with me - very unprofessional. Fortunately the culprit no longer works for Wilkinsons).Since the change of store management, however, I can only give them a 5 start rating. The whole buying experience has improved no end.I went in to compare a Nikon DSLR and the Olympus OM-D E1. The sales assistant, Michael, was exemplary in his service and attention, gave advice where needed and gave me his personal opinion when asked. As a result I purchased the Olympus kit with the 12/40 Pro lens, The Olympus lens converter, (which they didnt actually have in stock but they were prepared to beat others online prices), and they threw in a UV filter.Five star service and great prices, what more could you want?I think any previous customers who may have been scared away should seriously consider giving them another look.

I submitted a camera for repairs. They replied with an estimate after 10 days. I returned their invoice with my signature of agreeing to pay. After this, when I called up 8 days later to ask them when my camera would be ready, they said they had no way to find out about this. What a strange way of processing a legitimate request.
