I stopped in at Reliable Gold to show off the engagement ring my now-fiancé found at their shop. He told me he walked in and immediately felt supported by the warm welcome from staff and their help.When I stopped in they recognized the ring immediately, there were big smiles all around. I couldn’t be more grateful for their beautiful collection, terrific staff and support for both us. And the ring! All I can say is I loved it so much I made him propose twice.

My earliest memories were going to Reliable Gold with my aunt who lived in Providence. I would visit her from New York and she would take me to the store to pick out a present for someone, pick up something she bought and of course to look at the jewelry for me. To this date, my most beautiful pieces of jewelry are from Reliable Gold.When my aunt walked into the store, she was greeted as though she were a family member. The warmth, honesty and attention she received was so special. I don’t get to go to Reliable Gold too often anymore but was there recently with my aunt’s son. Nothing has changed! The store was very busy but it did not deter them from giving my cousin all their attention. And the jewelry was exquisite. If you love unique quality jewelry and amazing customer service, this is the perfect place to shop at Wayland Square. I think this is my first review but so overwhelmed by Reliable Gold that I’m hoping others will go who haven’t been there. I am confident it will be your favorite store.

Growing up in Providence, Reliable Gold was the only place my mother went - especially for jewelry and watch repairs. When I inherited a very nice lapis ring, thats where I went to have it resized - in the mid 1970s, a long time ago. Back in town to visit my aged father, and he needed his watch band repaired. So of course I went to Reliable Gold (other than the new location, what could have changed in 40+ years, after all?) Was very pleased with friendly, helpful service - fully living up to the expectations set many years ago. (The items I saw on display are very nice as well)

I had my ring cleaned while getting a cup of coffee and it looks sparkling brand new. The two women working there were absolutely kind and professional.

Exemplary customer service! Staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. I have purchased several items over the years. My go to earrings are a pair of estate earrings I purchased at their old location years ago! Today they removed a knot from my necklace in seconds! A wonderful small business in Wayland Square!

I love this store. The staff welcomed me and asked me questions about what I needed and kept to my budget. I had some ideas of engagement rings that I wanted and the staff ran with it. They listened to my thoughts and shared rings with me that met those ideas. I was easily able to choose a ring and the sizing turnaround was so quick.The level of knowledge and service is superb. Go there for any jewelry needs you have.

In March, I was on a mission to find the perfect earrings to go with the perfect gown I found for my daughters wedding :). It was one of those expeditions when if asked, what are you looking for, and all I could say is I would know them when I saw them... I had the tremendous good fortune to go to Reliable Gold when Jennifer and Elizabeth were working! I explained my gown, showed them pictures ( TMI? ) and we were off and running. I has seen a pair on line ( which I still love ) but werent exactly going to achieve the little bit of pop that I was looking for... After I swear trying on most of the earrings in the store ( I thought they would start charging me rent) I found THE PERFECT PAIR of earrings. Jennifer and Elizabeth were so much fun to work with - totally understood my vision, and had tremendous patience!It was one of the most fun shopping adventures I have had, especially during Covid! Sarah was great too and the appraisal came on time so I could insure my little gems! Fast forward to the wedding - I received nothing but compliments on the earrings. They were the perfect pair - Tasteful, elegant, and unique and the perfect amount of sizzle, and fairly priced!!!I cant thank you enough for completing my outfit. I not only will have the memories of wearing them for my daughters wedding, but of the great time I had shopping at Reliable Gold. I came into Reliable Gold Ltd two weeks before my proposal date with only a diamond. In a week and a half, I had the perfect engagement ring. All the while, their staff had been in contact with me providing updates and pictures of the ring. I have never received such personalized customer service in any capacity.I have no doubt that the quality of both the ring and my experience would have suffered if I had chosen another jewelry store. I will not be in Providence for long, but anytime I find myself in need of jewelry I will be consulting my friends at Reliable Gold.

I would 100% recommend coming here for any consultations and jewelry repairs! The ladies who worked there were so friendly and sweet! They are great with communicating about when your jewelry will be ready for pick up! The wait time was very fair and they are willing to work with you! I loved the experience I had there and would definitely bring any other jewelry back to be repaired! 🤗

My experience at reliable gold today was fantastic!..both Elizabeth and Jennifer were very warm and helpful. I came in to have a butterfly band metal strap adjusted and Jennifer executed this task perfectly!..I highly recommend this shop not only for stunning fine jewelry but also or watch adjustments ..

I took my great grandmothers wedding band here to be sized down. Ive had this ring for years and always hoped I could wear it for my wedding, but I was terrified to have it sized. It is 18k white gold with a beautiful orange blossom engraving. I called Reliable Gold and they said their jeweler could replicate the pattern. The woman I spoke to on the phone was so kind & understanding, and I felt very comfortable choosing this place. I dropped the ring off on a Saturday, and it was finished by Wednesday. There is absolutely no seam from the re-sizing and I have NEVER seen the ring this shiny; it is an impressive job. It was a pleasure chatting with all the employees and they shared in my excitement for my upcoming wedding.

Repaired an old favorite watches battery and replaced the broken strap with a great replacement until I could obtain the original from the manufacturer. They even swapped the original in for free. Wonderful experience and service.

Im belatedly responding to this business response to my post because it just came to my attention and because the response questioned my honesty and clarity of mind. I include my original post further below and I assume the business response is still available online.Specifically, I have not confused Reliable Gold in Wayland Square with some other business. I still recall all the details; in addition, when I left after picking up the pin I texted a family member about the entire incident. The notes are still on my phone.I did assume the sales person was a certified jeweler, my mistake. Nevertheless, she clearly told me by phone and also when I picked up the pin that shed taken it to her house to do the repair and to store it in my home safe. She clearly told me the woman who interrupted us on my original visit was a volunteer who spends time in the store. Finally, of course I know that misinformation can harm a small business; I ran my own business for 15 years and our family business is far older than Reliable Gold. I wouldnt be careless about this; my original review was accurate and fair.My experience is very different from that of others posting. Took in several pieces for repair. A vintage designer pin came back without the tiny stone which was to be reglued and the jeweler said, I took it home and put it on my bed. Lost it. Must be there some place. No concern or apology, no offer to replace stone, only asked me to sign that Id received the pin.On the initial visit, the store kindly clearned some other pieces, which was the only positive. As soon as Id begun showing the items for repair, a second woman rushed up, pulling out earrings for me to to try. I wasnt shopping for earrings; she interrupted without knowing my taste. (I was told she doesnt work there but volunteers.)My husband bought several nice pieces in this store in the past; my most recent impression is that Im not wanted unless I intend to spend quite a bit.

These establishments are fine for simple, mass-market needs like charm bracelets and common engagement rings.I stumbled on Reliable Gold at Wayland Square looking for a mount for an orange fancy diamond I had purchased and had the pleasure of meeting the owner Rena and her pro-level staff.Reliable Gold has some items that are genuinely unusual beyond standard white diamonds & tennis bracelets – beautiful star sapphires, sparkling opal, emerald, ruby, gold in quartz, Larimar, even Amazonite.Better still they enjoyed sharing the background stories of each piece – origin, type, Mohs value, why special, etc., and were patient with my many questions.Jewelry stores are a dime a dozen and fine for the everyday tasks. If you are interested in a step-up or to be wowed by some earth treasures you may not have ever seen before – I think it worth a stop.

I was speaking to someone and told them I needed a watch fixed and a battery replaced and they immediately referred me to Jen at Reliable Gold! When I arrived I was buzzed in and immediately welcomed in. The woman I was greeted by led me to Jen who approached me with a warm smile and an enthusiastic “hello” as she introduced herself. She was incredibly friendly and professional. We had a great chat while she magically got my watches working again. She clearly has had much experience with watches being that she was very careful and efficient. She had everything she needed right there to do the job. The service was prompt and the conversation was fun. I look forward to go back to Reliable Gold when in need of jewelry or to have a watch serviced again!!
