The next time you need just a few of some random piece of hardware, skip the big box stores and come straight here. The staff is friendly, extremely helpful, and you can buy only what you need instead of a box of a million nails that will take you, an apartment dweller, a lifetime to get through.
Real hardware store with knowledgeable staff, and a good selection of most common home owner needs. Window work is excellent.
Always happy to help a small business like mine, Great prices and experience!
Old school neighborhood hardware store. If they dont have they can get it, if they cant get it you dont need it !!!
Ive rented 2 U-haul trucks within one week. The staff here is truly TOP NOTCH under what has been an extremely stressful set of circumstances for me. I cant thank them enough for their outstanding customer service and for always making me laugh!! Thank you, thank you!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Called to ask about a service and the guy couldnt wait to get off of the phone with me.... Dont call and ask a question at 3:45 they close at 4... Great customer service there bro... Pfft.. going out of my way to Lowes NOW .
The service is good and the people are very friendly. Support neighborhood businesses!
Convenient neighborhood hardware store. It has most things I need for my house. Staff are helpful and friendly. Its well organized so I can always find what I need.
Great neighborhood hardware store. Excellent service, lots of items available.... suppot the local stores
The guy has a mean attitude. Wouldnt go there again!!!
Rude service will never do business with them. Many other places to support.
I love this place. Its a great local hardware store where the people that work there actually care about what you are doing and have good prices on what you need. The first time I went here I was on my bicycle, and the guy came out and told me to leave it in isle 1, as he didnt want to see it get stolen.Try getting glass cut at a big box store. Here it was $6 for a piece of glass, cut perfectly to the size I needed. And another $9 for some other supplies, and I was able to fix the window in my front door with some advice from the folks that helped me.I saw some other comments about the folks that work there being rude.Be advised, this place is old school. The folks that work there have a brash sense of humor. As long as youre OK with that they are very helpful!
Horrible service. The owner is super rude and irresponsible. Dont go there
I have been going to Marks store for the 20 years I have lived in Elmhurst. Chris, Bill, and Anthony have all been super helpful, helping my son throughout his life with different craft-y projects, mending our windows and screens, matching paint, and recommending GREAT home pros for small jobs. Thanks MPH!
Excellent service
Love a small business, better than a box store experience any day!
Small store, very helpful and knowledge people who will always steer you right.
Friendly staff, always have what I need or order it for me. Often help me learn how to make small repairs in my home :)
Very unprofessional and cocky! Don’t even bother expecting an ounce of customer service because you won’t get it. Just blatant rudeness. Never will shop there again!
Bad Customer ServiceThis location was recommended to me for replacing/repairing windows in my home. We went to visit the store, and spoke to Tony, who took down my information for his window tech to contact me.The next business day, I got a call, and scheduled my appointment, and took the time off work to make it happen. Flash forward to the Friday morning that the appointment was scheduled for. 9am was the appointed time. After half an hour of waiting (traffic, or just being a little late), I call to ask where the tech is.Upon speaking to the first person that answered the phone, and explained what the situation was, she took my info, and explained that she would investigate, and call back. Less than ten minutes later, Tony had called back. He explained that the tech wasnt doing because he was working on another job. He offered to reschedule on Monday morning, but losing another day of work for this isnt worth the uncertainty if the tech will decide to come or not.No call prior to explain this; just leaving me high and dry, and losing a day of work, for a contractor to not even call to say he wasnt coming.
A great REAL hardware store. They have all the stuff you cant get at the warehouse hardware places. Great personal customer service too!
I didn’t ask how to use products from elsewhere, I was asking for what I should have bought as my plumber said I didn’t have right materials. Tru value guy is very rude. I can’t believe he hangs on to a job - what a nasty person. Plus I already brought a screen in for repair and paid $42 and was picking it up at the time and was intending to bring 13 other screens in but not now! How dare he treat me like that when asking for advice on how to deal a shower and bringing in failed products to show what I used before. Plus he looked over my shoulder while insulting me glaring at a black family looking around. What? Did he think they were going to steal from him? Overall nasty man.
This is a decent True Value store, reminiscent of old-time mom-n-pop hardware stores. When I needed to get an obscure wing nut for my bbq, they had it. When my basement flooded and the big stores had run out of utility pumps, this place had one and held it for me until I could pick it up. When I needed a windows glass replaced, they did it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because their selection is somewhat limited, what with the size of the store.
Attitude right out of the gate while asking if he had bicycle tire tubes in stock. Ill find them elsewhere thanks!
Please put the place out of business. First incident I rented a Uhaul van tried to have the lady acknowledge a huge dent in one of the sides of the vehicle, she completely ignored my petition until I refused to take the vehicle. Friendlyness only lasted till that moment. Second incident I bought a plastic faucet piece for $40.00 not only over priced but the owner came out from the back of the store with arrogance just to charge me for the piece, telling the employee that my age didnt matter but it was time for me to pay. I left it as maybe his suffering from high blood pressure or mood disorders, yet started making other negative hateful comments and not giving me the receipt for the purchase. What a wired place. Now, the keys made there have never given me a problem I can tell you that.
Limited stock but good service. The part that ruined it was the rude service during the U-Haul return. They closed before our return and we couldnt find the key return thats hidden near the dumpster. Next time we rent wont be from them.
Awsome prices and people that help you find what you need
Mount Pleasant Hardware is an old fashioned hardware store where you can find obscure items that you cannot find in a regular box hardware store
They are the best dont matters is a small store they are the best.
The worst Customer Service I have ever seen, I WOULD NOT recommend this store to anyone. They should take a course in Customer Service.
Everything you need in one stop.
Great diverrse local community hardware store
Based on the owners responses to the negative reviews here, Im going to stay away.
