Fascinating little antique shop. I had walked past the store and never really knew what it was until my husband took me inside.10/10 theres something for everyone. There is some stuff that is mildly creepy (my teenager was creeped out enough he said he could picture a FNAF game being set in this antique shop), but its always an enjoyable experience. Theres some seriously cool stuff here! Look at the photo of the crystal ball I posted. Its amazingThe owner is knowledgeable, friendly, and has always been very courteous.
The store itself is fine. The thing that I find to be difficult is the owner. He seems very condescending, and clearly thinks that he is just better. He pretty much only spares time for the costumers that spend lots of money. The store sells lovely items, but they are incredibly overpriced.
This place looked really nice so me and my friend decided to go check it out because we were in the area and my friend had come upon a music box (with NO sign or any indication we cannot touch it) and so when my friend had touched it and moved it, it rang a bell, and the store owner came over and had said very sternly What did you do-And they went to show him and point to what they had touched and the owner VIOLENTLY grabbed their wrist and pulled it away way too hard and they were on the brink of tears and rushed us out. HORRIBLE place, disgusting, the owner being a GROWN man and assaulting my friend. Do NOT go here.
Literallly could spend all day in that place. So much cool stuff.....pretty sure I even saw a stuffed dachshund haha. Definitely going back
The grooviest little emporium of strange and outrageous goods this side of Utah Valley. You could spend an entire day just looking for that one special find. The owner is super cool and is willing to wheel and deal which makes it more interesting. Ive bought quite a few cool pieces here and Im sure Ill buy more.
✔️ Taxidermied cat (with saddle)✔️ Real skulls✔️ Mouse Dollhouse for the kids (complete with actual taxidermied mice)✔️Even a full-size 1860 male skeleton can be yours if you have a spare $4650 lying around. The place if youre looking for authentic decor for your Victorian horror real-life Escape Room.
I visit a lot of antique stores, and Cats Cradle always has the most unique items
Had to call the police for assault, the store owner grabbed my arm and pulled ma back to keep me from touching something he never disclosed not to touch.
This place is creepy, I’ve been to good antique stores, and I’ve been to not so good stores, this one is by far the worst. The People were awesome, friendly. The feel of the store was demonic.
Love coming into the shop. Go when you can take the time to look. Walk around three or four or more times, I promise you will see something new each time. This eclectic collection has something for everyone
This place was awesome and the dude there was realy nice
Full of oddities and strange curios. Unique
I love oddity stores and this is the coolest one around ☺️ 4-stars due to excessive prices though
So much fun! One of my favorite places in provo. The store was crammed with fascinating antiques and I spent hours there looking at them all.
This antique store is amazing! My daughter and I were just strolling down Center Street and decided to go inside. My expectations were pretty low since all of the antique shops Ive gone to since being in Utah have been more like junk stores. Glenn, the owner, has amassed an amazing collection of items from around the world including furniture from China and France, rare dolls and toys, jewelry, porcelain. If you are looking for something to add to your collection or you just want to stroll back through time, you must visit Cats Cradle.
They always have the most fascinating finds!
If you are looking for something different - a real curiosity, this is the place to go! A step back in time or a one-of-a-kind can be found here! Fun to visit and always interesting! The shopkeeper, Gary, is very knowledgeable and fair in his pricing! Will visit every time Im in Provo!
Wonderful experience here. Highly recommend! The owner Glen has been in this business for 30 years, & has amassed an eclectic inventory for patrons seeking unique, quality pieces. He also does comprehensive room designs for those wanting more than just one or two items. Very impressed!
What a unique experience! Me and my wife stopped in to see the shop and to explore a bit. We were astounded at the amount and quality of the antiques there. The ow we was kind and funny and extremely knowledgeable about every object there as far as we could tell. We were especially intrigued by a statue called The Bundle. If you have a spare moment go check it out.
Lots of great treasures!
My husband and I have visited Cats Cradle for many years now. It is, hands down, the best antique shop in Utah. There is always something beautiful, unique and wonderful to see. Take your time and walk through the entire store; you will spot something new at every turn and around every corner. Glen is fully educated on each piece in his collection and will happily share their stories. How cool is it that you can take home an authentic piece of history and know the origin, age and story behind it? Glen is one of the nicest, most brilliant people you will get to speak with. The environment is perfect and the prices are on target. We cant get enough of Cats Cradle.
I LOVE this store. This place always has the straight coolest stuff in it. Totally worth the walk in as a museum of the mystifying, and to meet the incredible guys at the counter. (Bonus: there is occasionally a puppy) 💚
I keep trying to buy things here and I am always disappointed. Their stuff is beautiful, but way overpriced. I love vintage jewelry but Cats Cradle makes it impossible for me to buy from them. I will go far out of my way to give business to other antique jewelers that have integrity and actually charge what a piece is worth. If you’re looking for antique jewelry, I recommend Antoinette’s Antique Jewelry in SLC.
My wife and I went in and loved it! We loved talking to Gary about all the awesome stuff he has and just exploring his eccentric store. Ive been in a lot of antiques stores and this is hands down the best one Ive ever been in!
I love to browse around this awesome store. I have a collection of antique hats and Gary was excited to show me the latest finds. It was so fun.
This place is very dark and sort of a mess, even for an antique shop, and the prices for the available options were a bit too high. However, the staff were very friendly, not to mention very informative. I learned a few interesting things when I entered inside. Im grateful that I left with some unique knowledge.
Gary is one of a kind. He has amazing stories to go with each piece of art and never shys away from answering my questions.I definitely recommend Cats Cradle!
A great place to find just about anything your looking for, I did and drove 11 hrs to visit the shop and pick up my precious finds!Good kind and most of all very knowledgeable people!
This is a shop like no other! Its in a category by itself. If youre ever going to find a magic wand or flying carpet youll find it here.
Glen and Gary were both really helpful. The ring selection here was WAY better than any of the jewelry stores, they werent pushy, and the prices were much more affordable. Because their business is largely referral-based, they want to keep their customers happy, and I was actually referred there by one of my own friends. When the time came to purchase the ring, they were very cooperative and Glen even ended up giving me a lower price than Id originally even offered him.
Im a small business owner. I recently acquired some antique items towards a payment of my service. I thought i could help a older couble save money by taking items for my work. I did not know value of items i was told that cats and cradle store was possible place maybe they could help with value maybe purchase . I was treated like i was beneath there standards and that they were so much better than me and my employe. I want to say thank you for helping me and reminding me exactly how to never treat a nother person or animal and to know that know one except the owners and employee of cats cradle are beter than anyone else Thank you im a much better and kinder person because of you
Gary is a very very nice man i recommend his antique store he is very smart, kind and knows alot about Antiques and he always has a smile on his face and he greets you when you walk into his Antique shop.. he helped me when i needed help selling some of my Antiques so i could pay.a bill and Gary helped me and i was able to pay my bill. Thanks Gary!!
Owner refused to give me a refund for a few purchases and pointed to the sign on the counter as the reason why, that it was informed to customers always. However, when he looked, the sign was actually underneath the counter. He then brought it onto the counter and said it didnt matter. When I argued that there was no information available for me to know that refunds werent possible prior to purchase, I was berated and disrespected because I was young and was informed that [I] dont know anything. I understood that he is a business owner but he was terrible to speak to. He was aggressive in his tone and rude. This happened a while ago but I believe it is important for people to know that the owner is not a good person to deal with.
I have never been treated worse at any establishment. Wouldn’t help me or my friend simply because we were looking for something under fifty dollars, then proceeded to yell at us for no rhyme or reason. In fact, he was so rude, two other customers in the store walked out as well and commented about how they couldn’t believe a grown man would ever act that way. Needless to say, one of the worst experiences I’ve personally ever had. I was almost in tears as I left the store. Never leave reviews but felt like this was necessary to warn others.
Their antique jewelry selection is particularly fabulous. Whether Ive been looking for gifts or items for my own home, I can count on finding rare and interesting things in this shop every time.
Cats Cradle is amazing, it reminds me of a Disney villains house. I bought my wifes engagement ring for 1300. The owner has the rarest items from all over the world. He is very nice and honest, knows where everything originated from. Too expensive for me to buy anything, but the items are rare, so it makes up for the price.
Interesting store, however we were unable to buy any items we were interested in. The only person working was too busy trying to hard sell items to other customers and we were unable to receive assistance with the purchase we wanted to make. We ended up leaving empty handed.
They have a lot of really cool things here. A few things are over priced in my opinion but the owners are really nice and they know quite a bit about the things they sell. I love going and seeing all the really old things they have
Its a cool shop. They have lots of things you dont see everyday. Their prices are ridiculous. Everything I had my eye on was way over market value.
They had tons of fun items to look at but their prices are outrageous. I realize it is an antique store and they tend to be on the pricey side, but this seemed above and beyond any price I would pay.
This is my favorite store ever. It is full of unique, and truly antique (total accident) items. I am always so excited to see what new treasure they have!
Best shop in Utah. Real antiques. Reviews here talking about overpriced have no idea the quality this store caries. It is world class. Tiffany lamps, when real, are expensive.
Cats Cradle has been a fixture on Center Street in Provo for many years. They have many unusual and interesting antiques. You are bound to unearth a treasure or two each time you go. They get their stock from around the world.
Im not into antiques but this place has so many odd things from all over the world. The owner is very knowledgeable in everything in his store.
I know this store since it used to be in Glens house in Provo This is like 20 years ago and I had been shopping there ever since i love the store and I love the kindness of Glenn and Gary.
Little pricy, not much merchandise gets passed through here. Are good things occasionally.
Great collection of super unusual things!
Way cool finds, and they almost always know the back story to them. A little pricey.
The guy there was really helpful and nice, and there are a lot of cool things there.
I had SO much fun exploring the cute place!
Love working with Glen & Gary! They are the best!
Lots of really cool antiques, knowledgeable seller, fair prices.
What an eclectic collection of cool antiques, awesome!
Nice people, and a lot of interesting objects, I love it.
Really cool & unique shop
WONDERFUL place in the world.
These guys have a lot of old, stuffed things. Very unique offerings.
We went in to sell some gold and Gary treated two 17 year old girls rudely and disrespectful, for talking to us about selling things.Gary was very very rude!!!
Great antique store in Provo.
The gentleman was very helpful.
The guy there was very rude was checking stuff out pretty interesting stuff there, was looking at buying old jewelry, but since he decided to give me such a bad attitude I dont think so....
Super cool inside!
Cool stuff!
Good selection but very overpriced antiques.
Amazing antiques
Helpful staff.
