I just went for the first time for a front brake pad replacement and dealt with Troy. Super nice, super helpful and very reasonably priced. Even offered to show me that both front and rear pads needed replacing, so I got both done. Gave a military discount, rotated tires for free, and noticed my battery terminal clamp was loose so he put a terminal shim on for free to help it not come off. Highly recommend

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Ive been coming here for about a year and Ive always gotten great service at a reasonable price. They are more concerned with making sure your car runs well than making a profit off of you. They are super honest and will often come out to show you what is actually going on with you car so feel more at ease and know whats being done!

This place !! Honest, clear, concise, considerate. Had my car quickly in & out for under $100 when another shop quoted me 3 days of waiting & $550. Everything has been working perfectly. They listened to me when I told them what was wrong. My repair was done on a Friday night and the owner even stayed after hours to finish the repair, just to be nice! So grateful for them and their stellar service. Will definitely be back!

First thing first, I know absolutely nothing at all about calls, on Friday I called and talked to Chris! Asking him a lot of questions and he told me to come on in to look at my car and so I did! I showed up and he started helping me immediately (which never happens!) anywho he looked at my car and told me what was wrong, and gave me multiple options to help with my car! They also changed my oil! On a Friday in under 30 mins!!!!! For a total of 27$! Seriously! So cheap!!!! And such great customer service! I am so happy I found this place!

The mechanics here are the most honest people I’ve met! I came in for a quick oil change and I made an appointment beforehand to make it easier and they attended to my car quickly once I got there. The work was quick and they helped me figure out other needs that my car needed. I will be back here for future repairs/ and oil changes.

Fantastic fast same day service!

BEST auto shop! When I first moved here from out of state I had a hard time finding a trustworthy mechanic to go to. These guys are fast, efficient, and honest for a really good price! I really like that they dont haggle me to try to get me to do more services and pay them more. They also give me tips on how to better care for my car myself. I moved to a different town recently but I still drive to Provo when I need auto care because thats how much I like them.

I happen to get a flat rate in front of this shop. They came right out and helped me change my tire, and didnt charge me! Very friendly staff, I would definitely come here again!

My car died on the side of Center Street right in front of somebodys driveway, and it seemed like a nightmare situation. But it turns out I was right next door to Lakeside Automotive, and there couldnt have been a better spot for a disaster to happen. My mom called, and Aaron came right out to look at my car. He walked over to where it was, jumped it, backed it into the garage, and diagnosed the problem within five minutes. He told me it was the alternator, and hed have it fixed (for a very good price too) ASAP. Five minutes later, the part showed up, and in about half an hour, Troy had the alternator switched out and fixed. Overall, the entire experience from the moment Aaron looked at my car to having a completely new alternator took 45 minutes. Seriously. Aaron and Troy of Lakeside Automotive took a fiasco and turned it into a wonderful experience. I have no words for how grateful I am they rescued me from the side of the street and fixed my car up with superhuman speed. Ill be coming back here; Ive never had such an amazing experience at a car repair shop. HIGHLY recommend!

My teenage son drives a very old car that we expect is going to die soon, but hes driving it until it takes its last breath. It started having some brake issues, among other things, that we werent sure would be worth the expense of fixing. These guys did a thorough inspection and told me exactly what we were looking at that needed to be fixed to keep it safely on the road a little while longer. No pressure to do more work than necessary - just straight up information and a little advice about how much we should reasonably spend on this old car. We moved ahead with the brake repair and he told us how to manage the other issues that werent vital for safety. I feel like he was honest and fair even though his recommendation decreased how much he could bill us. After 20 years bouncing around Provo to different mechanics, I think we found one well stick with.

This was a very efficient auto shop! The mechanic that changed my car’s oil was insanely nice and easy to work with. The prices are very respectable, and you don’t feel like you’re being scammed or taken advantage of at all. They’re very clear about pricing and services up front, so you know exactly what you’re getting! I set up an appointment with them and got in 10 minutes earlier than my scheduled time because of their efficiency. I LOVE car shops with small wait times. Definitely coming here again!

I came in with what turned out to be a small problem, was helped nearly immediately, and was not even charged for the service.I have been to several places that upcharge, exaggerate, and try everything they can to squeeze more money out of one who doesn’t know much about cars. It was a refreshing change of pace to find someone who doesn’t. I will be bringing all my issues here from now on.

Ive taken multiple cars here, and they are always respectful and quick!Today when I took my car in because of a weird rattling sound, they fixed the problem in 5 minutes(apparently it was a really quick fix) and didnt even charge me. They also fixed the alternator on my old car for a very good price! I will never take my cars anywhere else in Provo!

Im out $700 and my AC is still broke. Was awesome when it was run by Frank. Thats where almost all the good reviews come from. Frank retired and sold the business, and the new people inherited all the good reviews. Took my car in for AC repair, and they had no idea what they were doing from the beginning. Well its either this part or this part; Well if its this part, its either this model or this model that we need; Well just order the one and hope its the right one and on and on. $700 bucks and my AC was working for a grand total of about a month. Dont go here.

This is my second time coming to Aaron for an oil change. This place is awesome! He made sure I was told the price beforehand and even took me under my car and showed me a few things he noticed that might need to be looked at in the future (but not pressuring me to fix the at all). I did a lot of research online and was impressed with all of the great reviews for Frank and his wife. I decided to take in my 2001 Dodge Ram because I needed the fuel filler neck and housing replaced. He quickly fixed the problem with my own parts for a fair and honest price. I also took in my Ford Contour and he got it up and running in no time! Ive been back several times and I can confidently say that they are the best auto shop Ive ever been to! I trust them whenever I need something fixed on any of my vehicles. If something needs to be fixed, he will show you and explain whats going on so you can make an informed decision. Neither of them have ever pressured me and they both are very honest. I agree with what another reviewer said, I get really good vibes from them. Im convinced it is because they are genuinely good people! Now, I never hesitate to give them a call when I need help with something. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good mechanic.

Spectacular experience. I pulled in after seeing the Free A/C Check sign. Another shop in Provo had quoted me between $800-$1500 to fix my A/C Compressor and I wanted a second opinion before going through with the repair. Aaron fit me in, and Dan took the time to do a thorough check of my AC.In about 10 minutes Dan found that my clutch and compressor were in good order, but that my clutch was merely unplugged. Once the clutch was engaging Lakeside found that my refrigerant was low. The entire experience cost $60. Instead of spending $800+ on a repair, this shop found the issue and saved me hundreds of dollars.We even compared their complete AC compressor change with the other shops: A complete replacement would cost $1000 with Lakeside, compared with $1500 at the other shop. Highly recommend.BIG fan of Lakeside Service and have already recommended them to a few friends. Honest and affordable.

They’re very nice and helpful- they even drove me to work a couple times when my car was down for several days. These guys are my go to mechanics! They are a super friendly and honest bunch. I love how they communicate with you about everything they are doing or going to do before they do it. I often try to fix my car myself and Ive asked Aaron (one of the main mechanics here) questions over the phone a couple of times to get advice on how to fix something. When I cant do it myself I will bring it in to them. I just had them replace my rear wheel bearing because I couldnt do it myself with my limited equipment.

Super good mechanic! After graduating and moving away, Franks Lakeside Service was one of the things that Im going to miss most about Provo. An honest, reliable mechanic is hard to find, but Frank is definitely one of those. He has a lot of experience, so the labor costs on your bill are always relatively low. For one of the first jobs I had him do, I called around to 5 different shops to get a quote to fix a problem with my air conditioner. Not only did Frank give me an estimate that was about $200 lower than the others, but when it came time to pay, it came out to be even lower than what he priced me at. That was a very pleasant surprise! Until today, I have not had any other problems with my air conditioner, and Frank fixed that about three years ago. Hes well priced, and hes honest.

I have come to Lakeside many times for car repairs and have always felt good about how I was treated and the service I received. The people that work here have always been friendly and helpful, explaining whats going on, what my options are, even taking me into the shop sometimes to show me what theyve found so I can see for myself. They are also prompt about getting the repairs done. I dont like that they now have a diagnose and recommend for repair fee when I bring my car in to have something looked at, before anything has even been repaired. Maybe this is standard practice at most car repair shops? I dont really know. But I still dont like it.

Aaron is so nice. My car was making a strange noise, I took it into get it looked at. Aaron called me before they did any work on my car to see if I was ok with having it done, and told me the price. They had it done within a few hours. And they even fixed my radio for free. I won’t be going anywhere else!

As a second-generation customer of Franks, I can say that in my experience, Aaron (the new owner or manager) is continuing in Franks footsteps: honest and competent. Weve had some mystery issues with my wifes van. Aaron diagnosed the main problem, fixed it same-day, and when weird codes started showing up, he fit us in after my wife got off work and took care of it free of charge. My wife especially appreciates that Aaron has treated her like an intelligent human being.Aaron has never pressured us into unnecessary repairs. A neighborhood shop told us we needed to get four things replaced; the wife worked at a mechanic shop and had co-workers shoot down two of them. Aaron was right in line with that second opinion.

Ive had a great experience with these guys. I got stalled on the freeway in Provo and called them up. Within five minutes a mechanic was underneath my car fixing it in the pouring rain. They are honest, and do good work, plus they treat you like a real person. Not to mention they have the cheapest oil change in town.

Frank, on several occasions, took a look at my car, told me the issue and then referred me to other mechanics who would do the repairs that needed to be done, and he never charged me a dime for these visits. When the repairs on my car were what he could do in his shop he was timely, priced fairly, and very personable, giving advice on how to take better care of my car. I CANNOT RECOMMEND FRANKS ENOUGH. We’ve taken nearly all of our cars here for one reason or another and got service above and beyond. I had originally looked here at other reviews and decided to take a chance on driving to Provo even though we live in American Fork. Totally worth the drive. Honest and fair pricing. Had them service/fix different things about 6 times. Two thumbs up!

I moved to this area six months ago and came to this shop based on others reviews. I have not been disappointed with their basic services, mostly oil changes at this point. Frank and his crew have been great.

Frank is friendly, personable, and I get good vibes from him. The price is reasonable and he sure knows what hes doing. I went in to have my starter looked at and he showed me how to hit it to start the car until I could bring it in the next day to have it fixed. He was flexible and accommodating with his schedule, and Im (so far!) quite pleased with the fix.

What a great experience! I took them my car to get the intermediate axle fixed. They worked with me to beat pep boys price, even charging less labor then they thought it might. When they did the work, the actual labor was closer to their original estimate. I offered to pay for all the labor they had put in and they decline it. They also had to get an additional unforeseen piece for the fix and charged me nothing for it. They are great at working with you. A week later my girlfriend took her car in alone because the check engine light was on. Even after the checked and told her what the problem was and she said she would take it to her cousin to perform the repair they charged her nothing! Great, honest mechanics!!

These are my go to guys for any car problems. Aaron is a great guy to work with and will always give you a fair price and will try to get it done as quick as possible. My car has had frequent problems since I bought it in 2015 and Aaron always makes sure things get done. I have never worked with a better mechanic.Ive recommended them to all of my friends who need repairs done in Provo and they have been great to all of them. As long as I live in Provo (or in Utah for that matter), Lakeside Service and Aaron are my go to for anything I need done to my car. I could not recommend them more.

Frank is awesome. He gives us the lowest prices or directs us to places we can buy parts cheaper than he can sell then. Totally honest, too. After already agreeing on a price for parts, he tells us a little later that he found a better price so will charge us less. Just one example of how great this place is.

The best mechanic I have ever went to. Affordable and fair

I have been treated with nothing short of extreme kindness, respect, competence, and fairness every time I come to Franks. Their prices are about as competitive as they get, and they will tell you exactly what is going on with your vehicle - meaning they dont recommend repairs just so they can get money (Ive been in a tight pinch before and they let me know I could safely wait on repairing the issue for a couple weeks). All of their repair work has always been top-notch. Ive hopped around to a lot of shops in the past 5 years, but I dont go anywhere else anymore. TLDR; Quality service, quality people!

This place is awesome!! My husband and I towed our Mazda 3 to their shop when it wouldnt start, suspecting the starter was the problem. Franks ended up telling us that was the problem and gave us the cost of the part to fix it. We have hook ups to get parts cheap, so they allowed us to bring in our own part to use. Our car sat for a few days as we got all of that straightened out and they didnt charge us for that. They fixed it really quickly and charged us SUPER fairly. Much cheaper than anywhere else and they are super honest and nice!

I took a car by to have Frank look at it before I made an offer to buy it. He was very honest and straigtforward about what the car needed as far as repairs and maintenance goes. He doesnt have all the tools to work on my make of car, so he recommended some other places that he trusts that would be able to do the work on it.Youll have a HARD time finding someone better, or more trustworthy. Its a clean, pleasant shop to have work on your car done!

Had a great experience here on several occasions. Good, honest diagnosis and service at fair prices. When I opted to do some of the repairs myself, he explained to me how to do it and even spent a few minutes helping me with it. Whenever I need any work done on either of my cars, this is where I come!

I was pretty impressed with these guys. Ive been cheated before at places like Jiffy Lube, so i dont trust any mechanic as far as I can throw them. But these guys actually changed the oil, and it was about 20 bucks cheaper than places like Jiffy Lube or Cleggs. It was like $57 for the full synthetic oil change. And not once did they try to tell me that I need new this or that. They didnt try and intimidate me, or make me feel stupid, they just did their job. Took about 20-30 minutes. Thats all I ask for in an oil change.

We have been here multiple times over the past two years. Consistently they have been price matched lower their competitors. More importantly, their service has been top notch, always going the extra mile to satisfy us and make sure our cars are in the best shape. They are the exact opposite of the mechanics that look for the extra thing to do to charge you more. It seems they are always trying to save us money and make sure we are happy with our service. I would give them a 10 out if 5 if it were possible! Family owned and run is the way to go!

Nobody does it better than Frank. He runs the cleanest shop Ive ever seen and does a superb job every time. Hes one mechanic that you can actually trust. If he doesnt think its worth your money to fix, hell tell you. Hes extremely affordable and has generally has the job done in less than a day. It doesnt matter what city you live in, dont risk getting screwed by other mechanics and make the trip to Franks.

We took our cars to Frank for the 3 years we lived in Provo. He was always fair, honest and did excellent work. I definitely get tired of being a girl going to car repair shops, even though I have a decent amount of automotive knowledge. Its nice to have him tell me what needs to be done and not act annoyed when I tell him I can change my own air filter or spark plug wires or whatever. He helped us with some of the bigger fixes on the cars too. His wife, Yvonne (not sure how she spells it) works with him and is awesome. I enjoyed talking to her during the times I had to wait there while he worked. I am super sad we moved away and I hope I can find another Frank in our new city.

I worked for Frank for over a year. Frank is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. Frank is an extremely good mechanic. I NEVER saw him even slightly take advantage of a customer. I refer people to him all the time. I have worked for several mechanic shops and have personally witnessed mechanics take advantage of people, especially single ladies. If you are a single lady looking to have your car repaired and are worried about being taken advantage of, take it Frank. You will know right away that you are being treated very fairly. I really can not say enough about Franks character and honesty. Once you go to him you wont ever want to take your car to another garage again. His garage is so clean I really think you could eat off the floor. Haha

I dropped my car off at Franks because it had transmission problems and was overheating. It was a 1993 Honda Accord with 200K + miles. The battery was dead from sitting in the driveway for months and the automatic transmission would not shift. Frank got the car running within two days and I couldnt believe how little he charged me to get things going. He does not work on transmissions, but recommended a good shop that had that fixed for another eighty bucks (another broken wire). I am very grateful to know an honest mechanic like Frank.

Frank is a wonderful mechanic and we wont go anywhere else. I second all of the positive things that have been said on here by others. Hes the kind of mechanic that you dream about finding- he does a great job, and hes really honest and friendly too. Im always amazed by how fast he can figure out whats wrong and fix things. Frank is very honest. I took my car in to get the brakes checked and when he found nothing wrong with them he didnt charge me for checking. He tries to save you as much money as you can while giving fantastic service. I highly recommend this shop for auto repairs.

Ive been taking my cars to Frank for a couple years now and hes always been honest with me. There were a few times when I came in with an idea of what was wrong with my car and he would usually have a much cheaper solution than what I imagined. Great mechanic!

Frank is my go-to car expert and I know that I can trust him to take good care of my car. Hes reliable, trust-worthy, and a great deal in terms of pricing. I know hes never going to sell me something I dont need and he will fit me in whenever I need him.

I took two cars into Franks Lakeside Service. The first car would often stall or kind of jump when I would drive it, so I took it in to have it checked out. The guys at Franks checked it out and assured me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car, that its behavior was normal. I trusted them since I know nothing about cars. About two weeks later, the car broke down. I took it to another auto repair shop, and they were able to find the real problem away: one of the cylinders had gone out. Franks ended up costing me far more money since they were unable to find this problem and fix it the first time.My second car had a leak from a broken CV axle. I had to get it towed to Franks since I could not drive it at all. It was a Friday evening, so I had to leave it there over the weekend. When I returned to pick it up the following Wednesday, I discovered that someone had broken into my car and stolen all of my valuables from the car. The police reported that there was no sign of a break-in which means that either one of the guys left my car unlocked OR one of them stole my stuff. I prefer to believe that they just left it unlocked, but I have no way to know for sure since the security footage does not have the entire time it was there logged, plus my car is not seen at a good angle in the footage. On top of all that, they did NOT actually fix the leak. While I was working on reporting the theft, I noticed tons of fluid under my car and ended up having to drive to Toyota to get a real fix since I no longer felt I could trust the guys at Franks to fix it.Seriously, they screwed up with TWO of my cars which cost me hundreds of dollars not even including the valuables I lost from the theft! I will never go to them again and certainly dont recommend their service to anyone.
