Wow what a great place to have stumbled on! Kings Roe Antiques sure is a treasure in itself. I have to tell you how i came across this hidden beauty. The Owner Debra had ran an ad giving away a chair. I responded and made arrangements to get the chair, i was not aware it was an antique store. Debra was so delightful to talk with she had a vast knowledge of antiques and their,provenance. it took me back to my childhood,my grandmas house,was filled with these type of items.{ I know this dates me a little - LOL}.She has been in the same location for 17+ years and i did not even realize the store even existed. I was truly impressed with the array of items,its crammed with so many things i cant even start to explain it,and yet it is organized so well !! Debra has made it through some rough times as many small business owners have, which shows her desire and tenacity and commitment to this community.This brings me back to the chair.What a wonderful person to give away a 1940s antique chair.To give it a new life and purpose,rather than throw it away in the dumpster never to be appreciated again.I will repurpose it and give it away, to keep in the spirit of what we now call Pay It Forward. What are the odds that we two should meet? This is one of my favorite antique shops in downtown Puyallup. It’s very tidy and easy to navigate. The owner does a great job curating items. It’s not the typical mishmash of chaos you typically see in antique malls.I would guess the items are mostly mid 1900s and earlier with a few new-old items like rusted art. The owner also sells handmade felt ornaments and table runners. Every time I’ve gone in, she’ll be working on a new ornament or runner.The owner makes the most beautiful earrings from recycled necklaces and other old jewelry. To date, I’ve bought a china dish and several pieces of jewelry from King’s Row Antiques. When I have a place of my own, I hope to return and get some furnishings.
