Called about specific vehicle. Asked to get quoted for total amount of work. Which was $60 oil change. Quoted $175 for rotors. And $119 brake special was charged $25 inspection fee which is waived only if I do the brake work . Well after this inspection they came out with a quote of $440. 🤔 I told them I received a quote over the phone for $320 total for brakes and rotors. Plus I added the $60 oil change so with tax that shouldve been...$385? I was told my vehicle needed thicker pads and rotors were approximate cost. So seemed like a bait n switch lol
Bad communication they scammed me for something my car didnt need. Check engine light came on again do unprofessional specifically John called me a lier. dont waste your time and money with this people and when you talk to them they dont even look at you I really feel discriminate at this place with this guy John.
First time I took my car there it was because my back breaks were bad, asked them to fix those and do an inspection on the front tires as well, when I got the car back $800 later, my car was still extremely loud. The 2nd time I took my car was for a very specific complaint of my vehicle, I was told fixing the ball joints would resolve the issue, drove the car the next day and the same problem remained $1000 later!!!!!!!!!! I took the car back and was told that they would correct the problem free of charge and when I called to check on the progress, was told about a million other problems that I did NOT ask them to check for!! At this point I just want my car back!!
I brought it in for a tune-up. They told me that there was differential fluid leaking from the rear and rear axle service was needed. I come back two days later to drop it off, and they recommended that I get one of my brake lines replaced for an additional $50. They assured me that the brakes were fine, they did the standard checks, and everything was good. They didnt bother to bleed the air out of the new brake line and my emergency light came on as I got 500 feet from the shop. I contacted corporate, and the regional manager got a hold of me a few days later about my experience... never apologized. I demanded that they bleed the air out of the lines, which they should have done in the first place. I waited unnecessarily for 90 minutes. Then, I got pulled aside by the assistant manager for him to tell me the rear bleeder screws are done for (one was clearly lopped off so they couldnt bleed the line they replaced) and that I need new rear pads, new rear calipers, and a flush of the brake systems... another $400 after dropping $1,000 last week??? Especially when you wasted my time and there was no improvement to my brakes??? Never again.Update: In filing a complaint with the State of Wisconsin, Midas offered to add a $50 credit to any future brake work that needed to be done. I let the State know that that sleazy gesture was a slap in the face because at this point, why would I trust them with my vehicle again when they already sabotaged it?Avoid them at all costs! You have been warned.
I received VIP service at this Midas shop! Josh worked with me all the way. Josh was professional and very knowledgeable and so so helpful! He walked me through choosing a good tire at a great price. The buy 3 get 1 free was great, very cost effective. He kept me informed about the progress of the work. Josh thank you so much for helping me out and keep up the awesome work you’re doing! I feel like we’re friends now, lol
The only place I take my car they take care of there people
I droped my car off at 8:00am for a noon appt, they didnt even look at it till 3:00pm, then didnt do what i wanted cuz they said it need $700.00 worth of work befor they could, i had 2 other machanicas look at it before i took it and they said nothing was wrong, took it to another 1 when i left, still nothing. Never going back wast of time and money
Great price and the staff was helpful and honest..ill be going back
After she went in for an alignment, this Midas store offered a former customer of mine a $25 brake inspection and then gave her a $1200+ estimate for rear brakes on her vehicle when the brakes were worn less than 1%. The brakes were making intermittent noise which consequently I discovered was due to a very small foreign object caught in one drum. Her brake shoes had so little wear, they still had areas that hadnt even begun to wear yet. The salesman who spoke to her on 8/25/14 attempted to convince her this work needed to be done immediately and that she would be in danger of brake failure if she were to even drive home from their shop.I did a full inspection the very next day and found the foreign object and documented the condition of the brakes. The existence of this foreign object meant the Midas technician did not even inspect that brake. I was so bothered by the disparity between what I saw and what she was told I went into the store and spoke to the store manager and the mechanic who looked at the vehicle. I was given an absurd story about a leaking wheel cylinder causing fluid to leak onto the shoes which resulted in the noise; and then, the contaminated brake lining was wearing away from usage, making the noise disappear. After I disclosed that I was a mechanic and inspected the brakes myself finding them to be in like new condition, they refused to speak with me further. There was no leak and I was able to cure the noise with a simple cleaning. The brakes appeared to have been replaced less than 1 year prior. When brake shoes & pads become contaminated with brake fluid, they are permanently contaminated and typically will no longer even provide enough friction to continue to wear down; brake fluid will soak into the porous composite friction material and cannot be removed. If you need brakes take your vehicle to a shop you can trust and dont let the crooks at Midas scare you into spending 3-4 times more than necessary. If you get an estimate that seems ridiculous, trust that instinct and seek a second opinion. The estimate they provided afforded them a markup in excess of 100% over dealer retail prices and labor charges several hours more than book time on the unnecessary work they were advising.
Very happy with diagnosis and repair of my brakes. I though it was time for new pads and rotors after hearing a grinding sound. Turns out it was a $20 fix. Had my car in first thing in the morning, walked across the street for breakfast and my car was done before my food came.
Straight forward, very helpful without pushing. They took the time to explain everything and what was happening. They pointed out a possible later problem to keep an eye out for.
I recently took my car in for some work, and the manager (name was mike), lets just say was INCREDIBLY rude. They did not do the correct work so i decided to speak with the manager, he refused to fix the problems they had caused AND refused to refund me. I do not recommend this establishment at all. Based on other reviews I have seen it seems they also dont pay their employees correctly. Will be reporting.
Knowledgeable staff are not only informative but positive and encouraging, without overselling you parts and labor that you dont need. Fair, legitimate prices, and willing to go that extra mile with customer service and helping you find coupons, beating out competitors. Communication is the best Ive seen anywhere. I always get my car dropped off and picked up quickly, with all needed work done effectively and efficiently. John and the rest of the staff are always a pleasure to do business with here.
Asked if free estimates .they said yes. Got estimate and statement not true. They added 89.00 to invoice so yes they charge ...89.00!
DO NOT GO HERE! I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE. They replace the alternator on my Cadillac and the A/C stopped working after that. It was working amazing before that. My 12V cigarett lighters are shot as well in my car and dont work.. I took it back for them to look at and they tried to get more money out of me and told me it wasnt there fault. DO NOT GO HERE EVER UNLEAS YOU WANT TO SPEND EXTRA MONEY ON BULL****.
This place is always busy, but they got me in. Always good service, nice guys very helpful. When I called them to see if they had checked my car they were very courteous and when I told them I could not pay for all that needed to be done they did not pressure me to have it done. That was nice. They used a paper floor mat and my seat was where I left it.
Tried to take advantage of me because Im a woman. I resent that. Wont be back.
Went in for a specific problem twice after I had paid twice and sign the papers left the lot thinking they fixed my car but the problem was still there they don’t know what they are doing never fixed the problem I call to explain that the problem was still there and all they can say is to bring my car back technically so I can pay AGAIN! very unprofessional especially their employees A woman can’t go inside without being winked at made me extremely uncomfortable! They didn’t take my car serious!! Now my money is lost and I still have a non working car!
They do a very good job, I recommend them to friends and family
Would give 0 stars if I could. Absolutely terrible management
Need to get as soon as possible and didnt. They told me there first opening to get me in was next week Friday. I needed to get my car in faster then that.
Had a great experience. John, the man behind the counter was awesome!
I appreciate their honesty. They dont try to upsell you. Honest, great work. Thank you.
Owner is from Illinois, Illinois is on a stage 3 lock down he goes to his buisness regularly. They do not practice Social distancing or sanitation and being clean basically a pool of COVID.
Terrible. 1K into a simple brake job, mis diagnostic (2x) and gotta take my vehicle back in for a third time as the brakes still do not work properly. I hope they know Im not paying them for this anymore. Awful, maybey even bad as farm and fleet!
Very helpful service. I called ahead to get a quote for the two front tires, and that was the same price I paid at checkout. I had an additional issue with a ball bearing under the tire, they agreed to show me the exact issue and were able to fix the problem in the same day. Now the car drives a lot better and doesnt slowly veer one way or the other while your driving. Very happy with the service, and would probably go back there to get my tires fixed again.
Went in for an oil change and was surprised they did a full inspection for free and explained what they found. Turns out I have a small evaporative gas leak but they said it could wait. Really nice and straightforward about what was most important and explained everything so I could understand what was wrong.
Scott was great. He not only booked the reservation for me, he also performed the service on my van. The tires are showing wear which he pointed out to me. He also priced a new set of tires for me as well.
I dont usually leave reviews, but as I am always weary taking my car into a new shop, I figured I would leave a review for this Midas as it was a good experience. I dont know much about cars and I always worry the people are going to upsell me, but the man I worked with, pretty sure his name was Pat, was straight up with me about what needed to be done and what could wait until I had more money to spend on my car. Will definitely come back once I have the money to do the remaining repairs.
Helpful courteous as always
Staff here is friendly & helpful. Takes a few tries to get it right sometimes, but excellent customer service!
Should be 0 stars, this place is a joke I called about a canister fuel filter on my truck ( normally my mechanic charges under 50 bucks) they quoted me 256 dollars and then hung up on me when I asked why it was so expensive. A rip off at best. Ill never bring a vehicle there again.
Never go here, Im begging you. $1700 for brake and rotor work, and less than 2 weeks later theyre squealing. first of all, the person I was with couldnt even afford that off the bat and midas employees said oh dont worry you can apply for a credit card and well get working on it right away!!!! Well, they didnt even wait for him to get approved for the credit card and started working on it right away. didnt even have a chance to get a second opinion.
They took 3 days when they told me it would only take one. It ended up making me late to work because they told me it would be done on the third day mid afternoon when it was 5:20 pm when finally finished. They forgot to put my coolant back in my car. They checked my oil level knowing it was low and didnt do anything about it. John the person in charge was a nice guy but that didnt help the problems I had with them. I could have done it faster and more proper than the mechanics did so dont take your car or truck here or youll regret it
Stay well away from this place. I have thirty years in the auto repair business. Daughter needed exhaust repair on her 99 Camry. Knew she needed a muffler and exhaust pipe from cat convertor back. Called and specified year and model vehicle to Midas. Was told $150 over phone. Sent her in to have done - whoops now its $675 of which $575 was for a pipe and muffler. Factory OEM components are less than this. This is not a reputable way of doing business.
I’d leave 5 but I was confused as to why my car pulls to the left now. I had an alignment a few weeks before coming there- now it pulls to the left after I got my brakes serviced there. Overall the service was great and I thank you for putting on my headlight I bought!
I would describe my experience as horrible. I went in there for an oil change and came out with a rough running car. I thought it was going to stall at the next stop and it had no power. This is not the way I brought the car in and that is not how it was running the night before either. In fact my son remarked how much power it had. They showed me that there was oil in the spark plug well and how the spark plug next to it was dry. They did not offer to clean the well. Instead they gave me an estimate for a head gasket and other gaskets. I said my son just did this. They said some home mechanics do not always change the gaskets around the spark plugs. I looked at my paperwork and sure enough my son had ordered all of the gaskets. He does not do shoddy work. I will not be back to this dealership again...not ever.
My brakes went out just before vacation. They fixed them same day. Great trip to Orlando. They saved my vacation. Good guys.
John the manager is very professional and attention to detail doesnt miss a thing. Great team.
I had all new pads and rotors installed and it was a little more than I hoped it would cost but they had me in an out in a little over an hour and the car feels amazing! Nice job.
Management are LIARS:Took my car in ten months ago for new brakes. Since then my car had been making grinding noises. Took my car in several times and they said each time there is nothing wrong with the car. When I got my brakes done they told me the calipers were bad. (Car was under warranty so I took it to the dealer. They say it’s fine. Costed me $80) go back to Midas they say yes it’s still bad better fix it. So i take my car to a different shop and they tell my my brakes and rotors are bad and that the place that did the brake job looks they did not even change anything. I take my old brake pads to the shop and ask a manager for his opinion. He goes your brakes are bad. So I tell him you changed them 10 months ago. His response is that’s not good why didn’t you bring your car back to us. The managers name is Jon. Don’t trust him!! It will cost you $$$$
Good deal on oil changes but they always try to sell you a ton of other things you likely dont need
The techs here are liars and crooks. Do not bring your car here unless you like being over charged and lied too. They told me parts for my car were 750$, Nissan dealership said 400$. Not to mention do work with out permission and if you ask about storage fees and they tell you they wont be charging you, they are lying. And when you are trying to get things sorted out, they hang up on you. Worst place in the world. If I could give no stars I would.
I just left this store and received awful service. I made an appointment online to get my brakes replaced. I showed up the the store and was told they did not have enough time to get my brakes done, but I could drop off if I wanted to. I was also told by the man at the front desk that the online appointment system is not setup well and next time I should just call, which my thought is, if your online appointment system doesnt work, or isnt up to snuff then you should take it down or fix it. Dont make your customers pay for your poorly setup systems.I dont understand as a major company how you can have such a terrible online booking system. I have now wasted 45 min of my day and now its too late to get my brakes done anywhere else.I have used them for many repairs, but. Now you have lost my business, as well as the business that I used to recommend to you.
Its such an amazing place real helpful staff and the techs are amazing specially the young Mexican one! I will continue to have my vehicles serviced here and send my relatives over to midas thanks guys
My wife went in for a regular oil change which she normally does. She asked for a regular oil change which she has always done. When the bill came John told her they used synthetic oil. She never requested that nor has she used that before. She asked him to drain the oil and replace it with what she originally asked for. They refused, this place is a rip-off. Stay clear of here!
Always helpful! Im really happy with the team and midas
Great service but high priced and need lower prices!!!
The staff were courteous, the work was done on quote, on time. What Im looking for in a car care place.
They tell you they rotate the tires, but we just caught them NOT doing it for the second time.Mark a tire or remove a valve cap so you can check.
They tried charging me over 1700 dollars for brakes and told me things was wrong with my vehicle that wasnt I dont know if it was because im a woman or they was short in the draw but I will never go there again !
I do not trust this place. I have had my car repaired here a few times and they do fix what I take it for, but, they always try to upsell and try to con you into more work. For instance, this last time, I took my minivan in to have the caliper replaced. This they did, however, they told me that I should replace my belt because it was making noise. It wasnt making noise when I dropped it off, however, when I picked up the van it was making a very loud noise. I drove it home anyway and the next day noise was miraculously gone again. Hasnt made noise since. I really dont trust them. I only have work done that I am sure I know what it is before taking it.
Very disappointed with the service on my car. I had marked my tires before I came in for a full service oil change. We had double checked with them before I had payed that they had done it and they said yes! I went out and checked and the numbers were still in the same places I wrote them. I went back in and they put it back on the lift and told me that they could not do it because the rear locking lug nuts would not come off. They had told me it would cost extra for there time and effort to keep going when they had told me it was done. Very disappointed!
They were professional and nice. Ill definitely go back and send my friends.
Had a flat tire, but they could not find a puncture. They sold me on sanding the rim to remove supposed corrosion. I took the car home, and the tire was flat again within an hour. So I looked at the tire myself and found the puncture within 5 minutes. That means I paid $25 for nothing; they did not fix an easy problem. Not sure I would trust them to fix something more major if they could not even handle something so easy.
Excellent service. i scheduled two appointments for two different vehicles (an SUV and a truck), and both times when i arrived the vehicles were serviced right away, within the time expected (less than an hour), at a fair price, and with a smile.
Had some miscommunication at first and not happy but their customer relations guy Mike changed that. After talking things through and getting on same page it turned into positive experience. Communication is key.
Total rip off! I made the mistake of sending my daughter there to get rid of the loud noise coming from her tail pipe. I personally called the manager and told him her car was old and I only wanted to fix what was required to get rid of the loud noise. Midas came back with a quote for $1200 plus dollars. We took the car to Wisconsin Muffler on Lathrop Avenue in Racine and they fixed the car for $279. My daughters car is now purring like a kitten with no loud noises. Its too bad a national chain has to take advantage of young ladies coming to them for help. When I called them to discuss the quote they had given my daughter, they could not even find it.
Best service
Job well done.
From experience, I know theyll do it right. This last time (forgot his name) the guy behind the counter really went out of his way to help me. Yes, he actually cared...
Fixed a tire and was in & out with helpful 25 pt inspection
Car repair seemed crazy overpriced for just one part. Estimates were also way off. My final price to pay was way more then the estimate and I even had $30 off. Never going back.
Good service
A bit to pricy and had walk ins jump in front no way
Great people and value.
Good Experience...
