I went in to get my tongue pierced as well as my snakebites, Angee did an amazing job with placement and making sure that the whole experience the entire time was smooth. Even when I had to come back in to get a lost ball replaced she was kind and work efficiently. I had no problems with any of my piercings either!

I dont recommend tattoos from this place. I dont even know the artist name so professionalism without the window. The most excruciating pain I have ever felt in my life was from the morning after of this tattoo also during due to how deep he went. I went into the shop the morning after and the only response I got was was to use aquaphor. I had to wait 7 DAYS, 7 DAYS for each individual scab to fall off and the next one was more painful than last. Heres what i asked for and what i got, thats not the problem the problem is this terrible pain i endured during the process and the horrible horrible horrible healing process. I wouldnt wish this pain on my worst emeny. I couldnt turn my neck to drive or even pull off my shirt witout crying. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR TATTOOS, however the piercer is good.

We Found Steve Laurence Manager at Skin Candy.When we first met him, his confidant laid back style put us at ease right away. We put 100% of trust in Steve and the institutions history. We booked an appointment and were surprised to be able to get started in the next few days. When I arrived we went over our ideas I’d left previously with him. Steve took that and produced several ideas I’d left with him for us to choose from, we are able to combine some of what we liked the most from each Idea. This procedure was perfect because we were directly involved in what would be a timeless piece of art on my body. Steve drew the large 3 ½ foot out line from hip to calf by hand over my small existing peacock tattoo, once we agreed with the plan for the outline and what would be amazing vivid color and blending is inspiring together with classy easy to see Images and style.Steve’s talent, really fast hands, top quality ink and sealed wrapped sterile needles and interments.In the end after three sits I ended up getting a real show piece tattoo with hidden art; more over the more you look at it the more you see and the more you appreciate it.Steve Laurence at Skin Candy has a talented capable staff.In fact Mich Braver, and Angie Goldbeck (piercing technician) inspired this review as well as Steve, Watching their clients come and go with satisfaction and smiles on their faces was a pleasure and really make Skin Candy an exciting and Inspiring place to be.Thanks to the staff and Skin candy, I highly recommend them.Tru

I got a nostril piercing here a few weeks ago. It was super quick and painless for the most part (like a .5 out of 10). It’s healing nicely and the lady who did mine was really nice.

I just dropped in today to check out the new jewelry and talk to Angie, the piercer. She and the other employees are always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend getting a piercing or tattoo here, if youre considering something. The staff is incredibly talented, clean and safe.

Wouldve given 5 stars, as the facility was nice and clean. But, the over charged for a very small, one color tattoo on my ankle. The artist was really nice once I got him talking. The women at the front desk, couldve been a bit friendlier, after all, she is the first impression.

We had 3 people. My daughter got her first tattoos and I apologize I cant remember his name we were nervous. He does have an Australian shepherd pic in his room. He was very professional, gentle, kind reassuring and talented. Price, a lot less than expected. Then myself and a friends daughter got piercings. Professional, quick, kind, informative. Will go again. Very clean, sterile, no pressure. 😊

The guy who did my grandmothers name recently went too deep and its still hurting on my arm. I had a bruise around the tattoo the day after pain was and still is bad.

The piercer was supper nice and patient with me. I have a really big fear of needles but she was understanding but quick at the same time, also so far everything is healing up nicely.

My woman and I had been seeking a tattoo parlor with-in a 50 mile radius of Racine. Being very picky, we had a good idea of what we wanted our tattoo’s to be. We visited and talked to all of the tattoo places that we could find. We found Skin Candy in Racine. Our first impression was clean, friendly and actually a very exciting place to be right away. We found them to have reasonable availability and highly experienced staff and artists. The attention to detail and friendly nature set us at ease and prompted us to book appointments that day with Steve Laurence. We were seeking permanent art work that means allot to us and Steve’s concern about our ideas was beyond we had hoped. As Steve began the work we found it to be exciting and the quality of the work is amazing; the passion shines though in the finish product. The customer service and detail prove out the substantial history of Skin Candy. The spotless cleanliness of the entire facility and assured safety using high quality ink and sterile sealed tools, are impressive. I have come here for piercings multiple times. All piercings have since had to be removed and did not heal properly after 6 month. Most of them since my ear was pierced at a slant? She is not knowledgeable.I feel bad writing this post but I have had to wait over 2 hours at one point to get her to take the piercing out and came in just this week to get a simple piercing done but they closed over an hour early.

Only ever got piercings from here and Ive never had a bad experience. I highly recommend it, especially if youre getting your first piercing. Its super clean and sanitized.

My bestie and I literally did a walk in and got tattooed by Mikeal! Omg the wait was longer than the tattoo process but the wait was short. He did such and awesome job will be going back for a larger piece in the very near future!

I had my septum and two helix piercings done here, all healed very well and I had no complications at all. Skin Candy Tattoo has a welcoming vibe and the staff are friendly. I will be coming back! :)

Got a small piece done on my back by Mitch Brever. Tat ended up perfect! I gave him my idea and what he drew up was exactly what I wanted. Line work was perfect. He took the pics I brought in and altered them to make them unique for me ........he insures the end result is exactly what you want. When I heard he was doing tattoos I jumped at the opportunity to have something unique.His attention to detail is reflected by sharpness in his line work. Although my tattoo from him was very simple, I HIGHLY recommend him for any and all tatoo styles.

Could not be happier with my experience here! I came in for a consultation pretty let down following a terrible first experience at another shop, to find Steve at the front desk. I told Steve I was a first timer and he immediately helped me with my design and really tried to get a feel for what I wanted. I could tell he cared about not only his work but his customers as well. I got scheduled only three days after the consultation and Steve came up with an absolutely amazing design. He had taken everything I had talked about into consideration and even added his own spin to it. Needless to say I loved it! I came for my four hour session in December and I still am in absolute awe of the work he did. Now I have relatives who have gone to Steve instead of their previous tattoo shops because they were so impressed. Not much more you can ask for as far as a great overall first experience.

AWFUL ARTISTS. I should have known to leave right away when I smelled a strong scent of alcohol on the pierced up woman at the desk that I shouldnt have gone in. (In the middle of the day too) Waited for the tattooer to show up an hour late to my appointment. The line work was scratchy at best, and since bled out, and Im now scheduling somewhere else for a cover up. Said hes been doing it for years but it looks like hes been doing it for about a month. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE A CHANCE TO RUIN YOUR SKIN.

I wanted to get a piece done to memorialize the passing of two of my brothers. I went in and spoke to Jason. He took my idea, tweaked it and made it better. He then was able to tattoo it on me that evening. I will continue to go back because the service was awesome, the quality of work was outstanding, and the music was pretty good as well.

A little annoying- I called around 12/1 today, asked about getting a tattoo. Explained how big it was where I wanted it etc; he said oh yes, you can just walk in, we can do it today! I got there and then man at the desk asked me who I spoke to because everyone is booked today. 🙄

Go to ink affliction. Much more knowledgable and trust worthy. They care about their customers a lot more than skin candy. I learned the hard way.

Dont go here for a simple small outline tattoo. I know a lot of people who have gone here, including myself who have messed up tattoos. Who ever tattooed me applied too much pressure and now its messed up. They didnt even tell me their name when they tattooed me, probably because they knew they were going to do a bad job. He even left his tattoo gun at home and we had to wait for him to get it. He also did not give me any advice on how to clean or take care of my tattoo. This was my first tattoo and it looks really bad.

Waited a week for my appointment, got there a few minutes early. Chris came out and gave me papers to fill out, said he had to clean his station, 10 minutes later he came out with a small garbage bag, he went outside, a few minutes later I looked out the window, he was standing out there smoking.. when he did come back inside he walked right past me and mumbled, its going to be a few more minutes, then disappeared... I waited 10 minutes. And could not believe he was treating me like this. He was going to make $700.00 for doing my tatoo... I just got up and left. I was in that lobby 34 minutes. I would never let that place touch me, to many decent places around here, that do better work, and treat you a whole lot nicer.

I had chris and he put a tattoo in my ear same day!!!! Very nice shop..very clean and the private rooms are more comfortable and relaxing!! Extremely pleased..

Went in at noon when they opened and was told their piercer wouldnt be there until 1. So waited in Racine and went back at 1. Stood at the counter for 10 minutes with nobody helping me at all. Then when she finally came to the feont, she said the peircer wouldnt be there until 3. Complete waiste of my time. Ill go somewhere else next time.

Absolutly terrible. I would never recommend anyone to go here for a piercing. I am so angry with this place, I have spent hundreds trying to fix/heal piercings that were never going to be healed due to poor placement. I have never written a review before but this just really pissed me off. I dont know how well the tattoo artists are but I would never recommend anyone here for a piercing! I have gotten multiple piercings here and in the end I had to remove them all due to terrible placement and due to the fact I didnt have the correct anatomy for my industrial piercing. I have no idea why she would pierce my industrial if she knew the piercing would push into my ear. I now have a scar on my ear because the middle of my ear began to grow around the bar due to me not have the correct anatomy for this type of piercing. If she is as expierenced as she claims to be she should have the knowledge to know my ear shouldnt have been pierced like that, its clear to me she was just after my money. I also got my tongue pierced here and she couldnt even pierce it in the middle, I’m assuming this misplacement was due to the fact that she has never marked any of my piercing places before piercing. She freehanded all my piercings (exept my belly piercing, which btw has countlous issues with it!)! I have had other piercings by her which did have to be removed due to the terrible placement as stated before. I have no idea why I kept coming back to her even though it was against my better judgement. I assume it was because I was naive thinking the piercer knew better then me. Always trust your gut feeling!What did it for me, which sent me to another piercer who informed me of all these mistakes, was when I went to her over my keloid bumps on ALL my piercings and she took a 2 second glance at it to ammuse me and she told me I had no bumps and that my industrail piercing wasnt being shoved into my ear. Even though my bumps on my industrial piercing was nearly as big as the end ball on the piercing. Theres more I could rant on and get more into detail on but I’v made this review really long already. NEVER GO HERE FOR A PIERCING!!!!

I had a really bad tattoo done by my buddy and went here to fix it because of the good things I heard about the shop. The Tattoo Artist I had was Nisha and she was outstanding! very beautiful, did really clean lines, and kept a conversation going the entire hour which was nice and comfortable. Got a couple tatts here. My first ever tatt (neck tatt) was done by Chris years ago. I since have got it covered because it was an exes initial. Lol. Had that tatt for at least 10 years though!I also had a cover-up and a memorial tatt done by Jen in 2011-2012. Not sure which year. They were all pretty cool at the shop. Never had any issues. Prices were decent. Would get another one when I get a chance.

After reading a lot of good things about this place, I decided to check them out. I walked in there on Nov. 16, 2015. I talk to Trevor, who seemed like a really nice guy. I showed him the art work that Ive been working on for a couple of years. We talked about placement, color, and things that can be tweaked on it. I was open with every idea, as lets face it he is the artiest. After agreeing on a price I told him I just needed to double check some dates I would be open for as he said it would take upward to 4 hours. I called Trevor later that night and he scheduled me for Nov. 21st, 2015 at 5:30 pm. He asked me if I would be able to come in before then so he can get a copy of my drawing and go over extra details. We settled on the next day. On Nov. 17th 2015, I walked in to Skin Candy to greet Trevor. He made a copy and we talked about what was going to happen. I gave him my number and left. On Nov. 21st 2015 at 1230pm (5 hours before my session) I get a call from Skin Candy. I answer it thinking this must be nothing but a reminder of my appointment. Instead it was some guy named Chris telling me he was in fact going to do my tattoo that night, but unfortunately he got a flat tire and would be unable to do it. He told me that yes he was at the shop but he was borrowing someones car at the moment and had to return it within the hour. Taken back by everything he just told me, I said ok and guess I would reschedule. After hanging up the phone it click what he had told me. First off, I thought Trevor was doing my tattoo? Second, why or how does it take 5 hours to change a tire? Not to mention your at the shop now and cant work because you have to return a car? The next day was Sunday so I could not call as they are close. I did call on Nov. 23rd, 2015 and asked for Trevor, but all I got was some rude guy saying he wasnt at work nor would he be in today. I called the next day and asked for him again. Got the same attitude. When I tried to explain last Saturday he told me he knows nothing about it and I would have to speak to Trevor, but wouldnt/couldnt tell me when he worked. Even if I got through to Trevor, I wouldnt trust him or anybody at this place to put a tattoo on me. I am very disappointed as Ive been looking forward to this tattoo. All I know is I will never recommend this place to anyone for anything.
