Staff is here is super friendly. Coffee is stellar, and their waffles (homemade & vegan) are great too. Really nice vibe. Considering how much I love good cafes, and that I live in the town over, Im not sure what took me so long to visit this place. A new fave.

Great vibes and friendly staff. Love the wall mural and Mac Miller corner. Coffee was delicious but my vegan blt was kind of disappointing. Maybe throw in some hummus or extra tofu bacon to bulk it up!

Where do I start?! 🤩The staff is very friendly and have great suggestions if its your first time there. Their food is affordable and tastes above and beyond. Their shop has amazing artwork done by one of the owners and they showcase other artwork there too. Its a great spot if your looking to do work or school work. Its a great place were you can cook up ideas.💡

Melao is a fun, friendly and comfortable spot. The staff is Amazing! Blue, Jose, Noel, and Better take great care of me, and suggest creative drinks - like the Matcha Mint Lime Green Tea (try it!) They also make good food, like the Turkey Pesto Panini shown below with the Breve. And yes, the coffee is really good!

Went on evening of October 2nd. Amazing staff. So friendly and patient while I asked a hundred questions. First time getting rolled ice cream. They make it from scratch and don’t use a gross mix! Delicious. Came back morning of October 3rd. More super friendly staff! Just an extremely pleasant experience. How every cafe should be.

I started going to Melao when it was brand new to Rahway. I lived a block over and while there is a coffee shop on the corner of where I used to live, I never went there. Melao was always my place, I love the coffee, the food (the Cheesecake Delight specifically), the atmosphere, and the people. They provide a lively, colorful and friendly environment that is perfect for all occasions. I even have found myself spending hours there just doing work on my laptop. There is no where else I’d rather get my coffee than Melao!

This waffle was amazing!! Tasted so healthy yet sweet and yummy. The cold brew was so good too. My favorite one so far!!!

Let me start by saying Ive been a fan of Starbucks since 2009. I got an ice caramel latte from Melao and it has to be the best latte Ive ever had in my life! So flavorful, the perfect taste of caramel, the perfect balance of coffee and milk. Definitely purchasing my coffees from them going forward.

We love Melao in Rahway! Great customer service and great coffee/food/ice cream. The employees always greet you with a smile when you walk in and the lounge has a relaxing vibe. We prefer the coffee from here than at the coffee box!

Such a cozy spot. I came here one night off the train and it was cold, raining, my phone was about to die and I was praying to find somewhere to find a place to charge my phone. I quickly checked google maps and a creamery came up and I saw it was a couple minutes away. Love this place feels like home and love that they have so many vegan and vegetarian options. Amazing!

1st time visiting as I’m from out of town. Got the PB Craze smoothie that was pretty good. Indoor dining available but no A/C so thankfully the outside temps weren’t too bad. Not something I’d revisit though or if I do, may go for an ice-cream.

I was surprised that they use packaged deli meats, nothing they make seems freshly made and the smoothies taste like waterdown fruits. Will not recommend this place nor will i ve coming back.

Ive lived in Rahway, NJ for over 7 years and not explored my community. So on yesterday while walking my husband and I decided to try Melaos homemade ice-cream. To our surprise it was very delicious. Never knew a shop like this existed right here in our neighborhood. We will be out more often tasting our Rahway community restaurants.

It looks like a good café but we ordered waffles (Astroworld) had a lot of salt and baking soda. We couldn’t get through it. It was really bad. The rolled ice cream was yummy. I ordered a latte but the coffee tasted burnt so I don’t know what that is about. Overall I won’t come for its waffles or coffee but I might come for their rolled ice cream.

It’s like Starbucks but better, and right next to Rahway train station. It has great food, location, vibe. Check it out

Ended our 5 day stay at the exquisite Ritz Carlton Reserve in Dorado by eating dinner at Mario pagan’s Melao Restaurant. I will tell you it lived up to its billing. Excellent restaurant with great food and fantastic service - overseen by an involved manager - Joel Cox. Would definitely go back next time in Dorado and would recommend it to anyone with a discriminating palate.

The desserts were a bit too sweet and the sandwiches too greasy. Maybe ok for one visit.

Melao has the best coffee with all the dairy free options you could need. The main barista is so sweet and makes the best coffees and she’s QUICK. They’ve got delicious pastries too! So glad there’s a local coffee spot to support.

The first time they forgot my utensils and today when I went to pick up my order they forgot completely that I placed an order and after a long wait time, the order was not what I was expecting. I’m not going back 😒.

Arrived @8:30pm knowing the close at 9pm with my son for some rolled ice cream and was told Sorry were sold out of ice cream for tonight that sucks to hear as a kid. I do love this place but I hate to see my kid upset especially when he can see ice cream being rolled in the background.

From the chargers at every table, to the local artwork on the walls, just a great place to grab some caffeine and hang out for a bit.

Apparently they just opened up back in December. The blueberry cheese danish was so good I had to get another one! Great atmosphere and staff ; would definitely come back and visit again.

Delicious! I just found Melao this year, and regret not visiting more the last 2 years Ive lived in Rahway. Its very conveniently located in the main town district - parking can be tough, so walking is best or loop around for street parking.Super friendly owners and staff members. They make ordering online, over the phone, or in person easy. If theyre busy on a weekend, you may need to wait 30-40 minutes but its worth it. Otherwise, I usually pick up within 10-15 minutes. Their teas and ice cream are all delicious.

Inconsistent coffee, its often burnt. For the prices they charge its surprising to get burnt coffee this often.

I love the coffee and ice cream they have here! I always get the mocha ice latte for my coffee. If youre a cookie & cream person like me then you have to get the Oreo swirl which has a mixture of vanilla and chocolate ice cream and Oreo marshmallows and Nutella on top!

I first tasted the hot cocoa from Melao at an event and their non-dairy variety was amazing! It was so rich and chocolatey without a single drop of milk. I quickly went to the cafe and grabbed an espresso and...another cup of hot cocoa. I highly recommend this place! Great atmosphere, fantastic location next to the train station, and the food and drinks are excellent quality. A new favorite!

Love this place. The rolled ice cream seems a little pricey, but you cant blame them when you see how much work goes into it. Their dessert concoctions have lots of options to satisfy whatever sweet craving you are having. Their coffee options are extensive, espresso, latte, cappuccino, flat white. If you are just looking for a nice place to meet for coffee, this is an excellent choice. They also decorated with art for sale, which is an amazing idea. Spacious and with late hours, this place keeps me coming back for more.

Love this place. Come here all the time for the rolled ice cream, my favorite is the Dirty Blondie. Amazing customer service. We just tried a Flat White it was delicious. Highly recommend.

The cafe serves coffee, tea, ice cream, and small bites. They have a comfortable vibe/setting and its a great place to sit and relax before or after a train trip into the city as its right across the street from the train station. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I have been a few times and will definitely be back.

Might be a bit pricey, but their mocha is really, really good. Makes it easy to support local coffee businesses!

My first time going yesterday night, it was so good I came back for breakfast! The staff is very sweet and do a great job in keeping the place clean. As for the food, its amazing. The atmosphere is super chill and great for everyone. Definitely try the rolled icecream (my personal favorite is The Remedy) all in all its a great place.

Stopped in this a.m. while my motorcycle was being serviced. Great shop w delicious specialty coffees (Mocha, Americano, etc). Had avocado toast w a fried egg on top...really hit the spot! You wont be disappointed!!

Went here a few days after they opened. It was interesting watching the ice cream being made, and it was really good.I got my order to-go and the employees were very careful to place the order in the freezer to keep it cold. Everyone was very friendly, smiling, and seemed excited to be working here. While I was waiting for the order, a group of employees and the owners created a new special. They offered tastes to all the customers in the lobby at the time.Pricey -- but a very cool process to watch. The delicious treats, along with the friendly and comfortable atmosphere, is also definitely worth a look.

Amazing cafe, interior looks amazing and cozy, the prices are amazing for the quality youre getting and all of the workers are super nice. Love that its super close to the train station too. I love it!!

Food is good but very limited to selection. Cant go wrong with ordering a coffee/expresso/cappuccino the guy who took our order was really nice but since he was by himself it took 30min to be served the cafe was not busy but if you have time to spare by all means stop by

Delicous medium roast, looking forward to trying their other coffee beverages. So far Ive tried the fig, brie and prosciutto on a brioche bun (delicious) and the salmon on bread sandwich (blanking on the name, but also delicious). Lovely tea selection, cozy environment. Its great to see families and friends just relaxing and spending time in a community spot. One of my go to spots, will return for more.

Melao is definitely a nice little cafe. One which, between the train station across the street and a parking deck around the corner, which offers free parking for a half hour during peak times, and two hours during evenings, is well located. It is a bit upscale, so dont expect the most economical prices, but the service is nice and youre supporting a local business in the process so it balances out.Plus, with them having a little stage, between poetry readings and things like that, that little extra you kick out here could be used to further help Rahway become a bit of an art hub.

Waited over an hour for an ice cream I was DEFINITELY charged for; claimed I wasn’t charged when I was, never got the order. Workers were rude. Clearly not prepared to actually help customers, seemed to just wanna hang out. Totally ridiculous. Never going back.

Delicious! Affordable! Right across from the train station. The banana nutella crepe was just right & not too much nutella or sugar. The coffee was very good and the fact they had raw sugar as an option is a plus. Ill definitely be back💖😍☺

I commute to New York every day from Rahway. Before Melao there were few Delis around the train station that served mediocre quality coffee and packaged junk food. Melao is clean, spacious, and has good snacks and coffee. For these reasons, I will give five stars. However, the place is melting hot that I get a headache if I stay for more than 10-15 minutes. The person at the counter told me that temperature control is not in their hands. Also, the Wifi connection is terribly slow-about 4 MBPS (compared to 40 at Panera). Melao has to grow up to become a hotspot for work anywhere professionals.

Forget Starbucks, this place is amazing. Great coffee, awesome board games, very chill people and I love coming to that place.

Great to have this addition in Rahway so close to the train station. I hope they do well and I hope they stay!! At the risk of making sure they are available, I am ADDICTED to the Cheese Pepper Flake Pretzel, and order two every morning toasted before I set on the train! The kids that work there look like the hip cool kids yo think belong in a coffee shop like this. They are very nice and do a superb job. Going in after dinner at the Waiting Room or IL FORNO A LEGNA to have a Crepe for dessert. Love being able to eat at some great places in Rahway and support the local businesses!!!
