The service was good. However, theres more to the experience than the service of my vehicle. Theres also customer service. In this case, customer service leading up to the service. My customer service leading up to the service was terrible. I sent emails on four different occasions explaining in detail why I was bringing my truck in for service. I even emailed the Service Manager. Not once did I receive an email in response to the emails that I sent. When I dropped my truck off, I had to explain AGAIN why I was bringing my truck in for service. This is unacceptable.
Brian was Awesome. He explained things to me in laymans terms to insure that I understood. I lost my husband over a year ago. He took care of the car before passing away. Brian made sure I had his card, so he could assist me in the future.He also went out of his way to check the status of my warranty.He made my experience a good one.Thank you Brain!
I came in with a leak on my 2020 AT4.I had to get an oil change at another location in a pinch before a trip.They fit me in right away to get this remedied.Great service
My new GMC Acadia had a leak in the transmission case . The part was back ordered for months so Bobby Dwyer diligently worked with GM and insisted they replace the whole transmission. My Acadia has a new transmission and brake pads to correct a grinding feel . It’s running great. Highly recommend this service team . They are topNotch ! Thanks so much Bobby !

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I purchased a 2020 GMC 2500 Denali from this dealership last May. To start, the purchasing process was an absolute nightmare, and this place treated me, the customer, terribly. Since then, I have had an ongoing problem with the brakes that came on the truck. They squeal like they are years old. This has been happening since I got the truck, and the service team here has been absolutely awful to work with. They performed some TSB work for the brakes per GM, but now the brakes are actually louder than they were before. Now I cannot get them to return my phone calls or emails. I have had much cheaper trucks in the past, and have never been treated like this by a dealership. Do yourself a huge service, and go anywhere else except here. You would actually be better off paying $10k more at another dealership just so you dont have to work with this place. It appears that my only course of action now is to file a formal complaint against this dealership with GM and to contact an attorney. Its very sad that places like this are run so poorly.
We have bought both of our vehicles from Thompson GMC as well as my sister in law. We have always had our cars serviced here but after my experience with Bobby Dwyer we have decided we will no longer service our vehicles here. I scheduled it for an oil change and let them know ahead of time my car was squeaking not sure what was causing this. We all know that when you get an oil change they will look over your whole car to ensure no other issues are going on and then they will let you know what all needs to be done and replaced. I was charged for an oil change (completely fair) but was also $167 for looking into the squeaking. I even said to Bobby, you charge me this fee when you know they would have found this issue without me even telling you there was something wrong and I wouldnt have been charged for it right?! He was like yeah most likely but the good thing is it was cheaper then I quoted you. I just think this is distasteful and I will not be back. I really think that service teams commissioned on parts being replaced and that just doesnt sit well with me.Update: Just had my car checked out by a different mechanic and they found that there was nothing wrong with my shocks or struts as Bobby mentioned (a $2500 repair that they quoted me) but in fact the brakes and rotors needed to be replaced on the front but it was never even mentioned that they were bad (this was the squeaking that I initially mentioned)! Very frustrating that this happened and I am very disappointed.
There was a mix up when I purchased my vehicle. While I was signing papers for a vehicle that was already sold. I was assured another identical vehicle was on the way to be delivered by the weekend. Nearly two months later I received my vehicle. During the wait my salesman and the sales manager were largely unresponsive and would make empty promises to give updates on the vehicles location. It came off as they had already sold the vehicle and didn’t really care to answer questions about the status of my purchase.That being said they did give a good trade in price and when asked included an accessory to the vehicle in compensation. Roughly a $250-300 bed cover, we had discussed a different model, but I’m not surprised after my dealing with this dealership.I would not return for business to this location and I would not recommend it to any friends or family.

Not only did they get me approved, but for the more expensive option that I really wanted. They are fantastic! Your employee Scott in service could have charged me for replacing my bank 1 sensor 2 oxygen sensor but his honesty and integrity clearly showed when he called to say it wasnt going to cost me anything because a previous replacement of the sensor was done so poorly and was under a recall the first time I had to change it. It shows the quality and honesty this dealership shows even through their employees...something thats hard to find nowadays for sure. Thank you so very much and in my opinion you are the absolute best I have ever dealt with.
I had my car towed to the body shop after an accident. The body shop did not see any damage and sent it to have the rim replaced and tire replaced. After replacing the rim and tire they used lasers to check it out. They found major body damage to the rear end of the car. Bobby Dwyer did a good job of communicating with me throughout the process.
Only had a service experience with Thompson Buick thus far but my service team member Scott has gone above and beyond to make sure I was completely taken care of through the whole process. Someone please get this man a RAISE!! I have worked with many Buick dealerships for my 2014 LaCrosse and always had a decent experience but I can honestly say that Scott goes the extra mile to take care of his customers and that is something that I was extremely grateful for with the current situation of having to bring my car in. I went in to have two things checked out and they only took care of one thing that was the check engine light, they never looked at the accelerator of which I told Brian about, I know that they did not check it out because its doing the same thing so it was not taken care of and I did asked about it he did not say anything about it. I am not happy about it because I brought it to his attention.

I called the parts department and asked if they could help me find a part number for my Escalade. I was asked if they could give me a price instead because they were on commission. I said yes they could give me a price on the part. They looked up the part and gave me the part number which is what I wanted. I was about to thank them and ask them one more question but got abruptly hung up on. I bought a truck from them and spent quite a lot of money with them. This is not the kind of customer service I expected. The person on the phone was extremely rude and I will not be returning here anymore.

Absolutely the worst dealership I have ever purchased a truck from. I was told I had 1 more oil change on my package, come to find outI was 200 miles over the limit so I had to pay. I would expect nothing less from this dealership. There has been problems from day one since I bought the truck. I will never spend one more $1 at this dealership. I’m proud to say that they have lost over 300k in sales because of this dealership’s terrible customer service and incompetence.
There is a lack of communication and customer service to the customers. No one should have to call the DEALERSHIP more than three times to check on their vehicle. And when a concerned is expressed it should not take 2 hours to receive a follow-up or the expectation of having to explain what is going on again to the Senior Service ambassador. There is no reason for my car to have been kept for nearly three days with no service recommendation. I sent text messages to the number that was provided to express any concerns and no response. I had to make someone to speak to me. The receptionist need to go back through some form of customer service training because they believe that they are to only sit at the desk after a customer has called more than three times voicing the same concern.
I wont be back to this particular dealership for service again. On two occasions within the last 6 months I have made and confirmed a 7am service appointment. My experience was identical with each appointment. I drop off my truck promptly at 7am, and do not receive an update on the status from the service advisor. By 4pm - both times mind you - I call, leave a voicemail with the advisor and then wait another hour during which time I do not receive a call back. First time - I finally do get in touch with the advisor who apologizes and comps the oil change which I was there for. Much appreciated but - Why did I have to chase these folks down for an update after they had my vehicle for 9 hours? Strange but OK - Im a loyal GMC customer so I return several months later to much of the same. Only this time, I get no contact from the service advisor or the manager until Ive left multiple voicemails and sent texts and left a message with an admin. Disappointed in this whole experience. When the manager did call me back (very nice gentleman) he advised that they had never even looked at my truck even though theyd had it since 7am and it was now nearly 5pm. In fact, they had at least 10 vehicles waiting that had not been seen. You know - Im fine with things taking longer than expected. I was not OK with not getting an update via call, text or email AT ALL for an entire day. I picked up my truck and advised that I will not be back. By comparison - several days later I take my truck to Carfix Raleigh and the experience was amazing. I was kept fully apprised of status and timeline, quoted accurately for services and given the courtesy of after hours pick up. By the way - Carfix did take 2 days to get it done but I was always kept in the loop about what was happening as parts had to be ordered etc. Regrettably, GMC Certified Service was disappointing.
Friendly service and they got me in and out very quickly and did a great job on my truck. Would highly recommend Thompson to anyone that is looking for a vehicle.

We had the best experience when my husband and I came in to look at Cadillacs and we were blessed to get Mike to help us. He is such a sweet soul. He answered all of our questions and answered questions we didnt even think to ask. He knew what we wanted so he looked around and found several for us to look at and he always kept us up-to-date and we found the perfect car with his help. My service in reference is a flat tire on Saturday 3/2/2021. I got an alert on my phone about the low pressure on my tire and was scheduled to leave in an hour across town. I needed help immediately. After calling the service department got me in, plugged my tire, inflated back to right pressure and got me on the way within 10 minutes. Top notch service and was handled so professionally. Made my day. Thank you to the team.

The Thompson staff was extremely helpful and friendly from the sales guy (John) to the finance guy (Marcus)....and not pushy like a typical car dealership. The GM (Lee) was one of the nicest guys I have ever met and gave me an awesome deal on my new truck, much better than any other dealership, and without haggling. I will definitely be back when I buy my next car.
I dropped my truck off at 7:30 for tires alignment and oil change. I informed my service agent that i got off work at 4 i text her to get an update no response so i had to pay for a ride back to the dealership. Only to get their at 4:15 and find out my truck was not ready and my agent had left for today. I had to wait atleast 45 minutes after i arrived for them to finish with my truck and no one even offered an apology. I could have took my truck anywhere for tires and oil change and it would have been ready 2 hrs or less. To me this was piss poor

When hi had arrived at my appointment the service writer took me in right away and they had my Oil change and tire rotation done in a timely fashion. I really appreciate the professionalism and how quick they had my truck completed.
What was supposed to be a 1 day service turned into 6 days without a car, no offer for loaner car, one day I was told everyone who knew about my car called in sick and it fell through the cracks for getting looked at. It was a horrible overall experience. Being six days long was not the worse part, it was I was told several times, it should be done today just to be told at 5pm-6pm, its gonna be another day.

Picked my truck up from service after being lied to about issues just to find ashes in a drink can in cup holder and fris in my back floor board will never let your mechanic if you want to call him that touch my truck ever again and service adviser trying to tell a 30 year mechanic that a thermostat caused a miss in the engine is a big lie no trust in your service department now will not even let your service department touch my truck for so much as a oil change they really need to know who there dealing with before they try to lie

I brought my 2012 Chevy Cruise in for routine maintenance. I was in and out in 40 minutes flat and the entire staff could not have been anymore helpful or accommodating! There were a few additional items needed that they simply made me aware of and didnt try ANY sales techniques or gimmicks. They have a FULL staff of true GM professionals. How refreshing to know that they are there :)
Scott C is my service consultant and at every turn he goes the extra mile en then some to help ease the inconvenience of a car repair. He is always smiling and he explains every issue in a way that makes you feel informed and confident that the issue will be corrected as quickly as possible. He honestly makes the stress of car problems so mush less. In simple terms, he is a superstar.
Wonderful experience here purchasing my vehicle today. I engaged the sales department on a car I was looking at on Tuesday evening, did all the numbers for my trade and the new vehicle over the phone, got all of the preparation documents sent over in advance and I completed it all today. All interactions whether phone, text, or in person were professional and Ulysses Watkins really went above and beyond in answering my questions, taking a video for me, helping me move carseats over. He even had snacks and entertainment for my kiddos while we were doing paperwork and waiting. My last experience in a dealership (another brand/dealer) was the total opposite it, so Thompson Buick GMC, and specifically Ulysses, has restored my faith in the car buying experience. Would definitely buy another in the future.
