Malcolm greated me at the counter and helped me purchase all of my materials quickly. He made the process easy!
They dont want to hear the customer they took down my first review. This is the review you did not post. So I will post it again. (At first I thought it was just me, but then I read some of the reviews for Dillon Supply. And Im not the only one wake up you have a management problem. The people that were so friendly in the steel department are gone except for one or two people. The person who works the press brake is lazy and never has the job done. The level of service has when down. Two people trying to work with 3-5 customers is not customer service. The guy who says he is a supervisor has to talk to the manager and the manager is nowhere in sight. If the same guy Shelton is the manager who is the one in the other reviews then you have a problem. And who put him in charge need to be look at for not making a change. Listen to your customer. I should not have to come back for a job the only takes about 15 minutes to do. The old press guy who is still there but for some reason he only pulls the steel now used to do it faster than that. This new guy makes a lot of excuses. The overall morale is bad and that starts with management.)
Quick load... ok pricing.... huge stock
Nice folks but very slow service. No sense of urgency whatsoever the steel shop. Then I get something different than what I asked for. Apparently not good relations between sales and shop.
Shop staff was awful. Slow. Very slow
Sign on the door says they are open from 7:30 to 5 PM. In reality they close at 4:30 PM, if you want to pick up some steel and drive yourself over there at 4:37, or 4:40, or any time after 4:30...you will be refused service. Guy at the counter seems about as interested in helping you out as the piece of gum stuck on the pavement outside...it is what it is attitude. Sadly, this is one of the few places in Raleigh that sells steel in bulk to the public. Enjoy.
Difficult to find someone on the sales floor, but the guys in the pick up area/bay were great. Very friendly and quick with getting materials cut and in the truck
Set for over an hour waiting on post that where ordered 5 days in advance
I am the purchaser for 3 companies that’s under our umbrella and for years we’ve been a big fan of Dillon but over the last few this company has been run in the ground as far as the steel shop, they now have the rudest personnel running that shop I’ve ever experienced while dealing with them, so I found out that the guy is the new manager,w t h is going on with this company, this company is showing so many signs of being one of the most racist companies ever, and to clear the air I’m a Caucasian male but you have a man that’s been there for years and has the best attitude ever and even the field guys here talks about him he’s just a great guy and at what he does and for This company to keep bouncing him around when he’s the person that should be running that company period! I’m talking about we’ve called him to figure out jobs that your salesmen can’t or to ask his opinion on material and he’s always available unlike that rude manager now, he’ll ignore you and then when he did try to answer he doesn’t know anything about that job, we left Dillon before and came back after meeting Jeff and knowing that he was there for us was great but now we’re shopping around again And on top of being higher than anybody else now you have terrible service and rudeness to the highest power, I think that we’re done and my guy tells me that Jeff is driving the truck what a damn waste of talent and knowledge maybe he’ll consider working for us
I usually dont write reviews, but I had to this time about 2 weeks ago. I ordered some steal went to go pick it up and have one of the rudest experiences I ever had dealing with the manager down in the steelwarehouse. To my surprise he was an old salesman I have dealt with before Shelton. I didnt like him as a Salesman and he definitely shouldnt be a manager over any department. The worker that was working with me put a dent in my truck but I was fine with it but he felt like he needed to tell the manager. So he did, then Shelton come over. Does not apologize but proceeded to tell me he would never load my truck like this again. I then look at my partner like I cannot believe this this guy is so rude. I tried to let it go and decided to be the bigger man so I went by the office to get the red tape to my surprise he was inside the office talking to another worker and cussing about the situation. Whoever put this guy in charge cant know what they are doing and seriously need to be looked at. Anybody that doesnt feel like dealing with Dillon there are other Steal companies in our area. I have stopped dealing with Dillon before. And until something changes now seems like a nice time to do it again.
Got what I needed the first time I go in the store. They have many things related to the work field as well as all the PPE safety gear you need for the job.
I was in the area and needed some gas so I googled “welding supply near me” I was really confused to find out after the guy at the counter was waiting on another customer holding a phone to his head, that this place doesn’t have 75/25. Idk who’s idea it was to call yourself a welding supply store without carrying the very thing I need to weld... not a one stop shop, and honestly I’m surprised the store is so nice inside when you’re not a complete supply house.
Great service and prices.
Very nice facility and they are following covid19 prodigal
Carries an odd assortment of both end-user and industrial level equipment. For example, they sell air compressors but do not have 3/8 or 1/2 air hoses. Also they will NOT sell you less than stock length of steel (often 20ft), and they charge a ludicrous amount to cut it (5$ per cut). Cheapest place Ive found to buy welding electrodes though, good selection of pipe fittings as well.
Could not have been more disappointed. I needed an array of square tube and sheet metal. Guy behind the counter basically told me they really only deal with welders and contractors so they don’t cut anything to order. I asked him to confirm and he repeated his story. So I could only buy sheet steel ay 4x8 foot sheets and tubing by the 20 foot length. Didn’t need that much and counter man had no interest in helping any further. Pathetic. Someone wants to work on their own projects and can’t get materials. Been building cars for 25 years. Home Depot and Loews cleaned up the attitudes the lumber yards had once had. Maybe someday they they might focus on iron industry next.
A recent visit to Dillon Supply in Raleigh put a smile on my face. I was taken care of, questions answered and pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff. I would highly recommend the store for industrial equipment and supplies.
I never had any problems with orders. They have a little bit of a hard time following up with orders but other than that they are a great group of people and we will continue to use them!
I am appalled to know that Dillon Supply does not care about its employees well-being. There is a hurricane coming and majority of the stores are closed but Dillon Supply will not close down. What a money-hungry Corporation. You should worry about the well-being of your employees first. Why should we support them. Pray for the employees safety.
System is super slow, my card would never go through for some reason even though it works fine everywhere else. For some reason you cant find out that the card didnt work until you drive down to the steel yard, then they tell you have to drive back up to the counter because the card didnt go through. Very unhelpful. My dad has gone and used his card and he said his never went through either and he had to pay with cash. Took much longer than necessary to buy 20 feet of 2 square tubing.
Very good work team. From the time you get in to the store till the moment that you get your material they make you feel that your proyect is very important for them too. Thank Dillon team
The customer service here is top notch. Theyre eager to make happy customers.
Says right on the website No Steel Mins, yet wont sell under 20 ft of anything. Pretty Hyprocritic. Wanted to buy some steel for a project and wanted to support a local business instead of buying online.
Ordered som aluminum sheets two, they were able to cut to exact measurements . Workers were very helpful & pleasant! I look forward to buying from them again real soon!! Thanks for the AAAA Services.
The best prices on steel anywhere!!!
I called the other day to inquiry about steel stair threads. Not knowing who or where to buy them I trusted Dillon was the place that would know..The counter sales person was condescending from the start.. I am a 67 years old man that knows a lot but not all the technical terns. This salesperson had no idea if I was going to buy one or a hundred threads...during our back and forth he said that the BREAK was down..(PS I know what a steel break is...When I asked what the lead time would be...he didnt know...when I asked when the break would be up and running..he didnt know...NOW WHO IS HE DUMMY....I doubt this is an example of everyones experience when they call into the Raleigh sales counter
Great experience with employees and getting the truck loaded with materials
Great service!!!
Items were addressed. Thank you.
A little slow service
