My family loves this place. It is so nice to sit on the porch and see all the lovely cows while eating ice cream. Even though there is always a line out the door, the line moves quickly and the employees are friendly and helpful. The ice cream is delicious as well.

Dear diary. Today was a ok day. I was sitting home wanting to get out of the house. I had a hankering for a banana split. Now not a lot of places sell a true banana split so I thought this was going to be a lost cause. So I started to look at shops near me when I found this amazing place. Howling cow is amazing. It had a list of splits. And other amazing treats. This place should be everyone once a week stop all summer and then some. The ice cream is to die for and the live cows are a great look. The smell…. Well this place is amazing and look forward to gaining wait here.

Every time we are on lake wheeler road we are tempted to have ice cream here! 5.5$ for two scoops, chocolate and sea salt caramel taste perfect together. We loved the dairy store at Michigan State University, here is a good replacement. Great cow view from the back patio. ( not sure if kids should be touching the cows though)

This is a great spot with great views for extremely quality ice cream. It is operated by mainly current NC State Students and have fresh homage ice cream made on sight. I definitely recommend one of their wanna splits. Also make sure to sit out on the back deck and look at the cows and enjoy the beautiful farm land. While you are at it, take a pint home for later which are offered at the creamery.

We stopped here for some ice cream on our busy day of errands! We were intrigued by the name and decided to check it out. I was expecting extremely creamy and smooth ice cream, but it just wasnt that. I had the PB & Chocolate Brownie Sundae and the brownie was veryy dense. The peanut butter sauce and peanut butter cups were yummy. My dad and my husband both had the banana pudding ice cream and they loved it!! I tried my husbands 4H Campfire flavor and it wasnt bad. Id like to try it again to see what I think!

A really fun place to visit with the family. A little expensive, the additional cost is worth it knowing it is part of the Dairy education school at NCSU. The Ive cream is consistently sweeter than I like - but its a hit with everyone else.

We love Howling Cow Ice Cream! I used to have it almost every day on campus and now with a BRAND NEW stand alone location it is even easier for me to get off campus.I highly recommend the Wolf Tracks and the Banana Pudding (so creamy just like your Grandma made Banana pudding, but as ice cream). The views were beautiful and the cows were fun to watch. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will absolutely be back and bring friends and family.p.s. Cant wait to see Howling Cow at the NC State Fair.

Excellent creamery from the cows of N.C States agriculture program straight to your spoon with fantastic ice cream flavors and sundaes. Even pints or quarts of your favorite flavor to purchase and enjoy. Love the outdoor seating with a heavenly view of the farm and land...and cows, of course. Mud pie Sundae is the ish!

Vibrant parlor with ice cream, banana splits, sundaes, and take-home pints and quarts, all made at NCSU. The workers are fast and friendly, so even if the line is out the door it wont take but a few minutes to get to the counter. There is a lovely wrap-around porch that overlooks a cow pasture, and has plenty of room for the kids to run around and burn off the sugar. The ice cream is delicious and very affordable--you can get a scoop for less than $2 and a sundae for less than $4. An amazing bargain.

Delicious, fresh, and creamy ice cream made directly from cows at this facility. Students that run the place are great, when not being reprimanded by their faculty advisor... Many flavors to choose from. The pricing structure is a little wonky and a bit expensive, but they do take credit cards and are open 7 days a week. You can sit in rocking chairs on their porch with a view of the cows. Relaxing experience.

So Im visiting NC and decided to drop by as I was hiking nearby. I t tried a scoop of the banana pudding and a scoop of the sea salt caramel. My goodness it was superb. Almost custard like in consistency, flavorful and a big scoop that made you feel you got a true tasting! I absolutely recommend their overran and there are many flavours to choose from. I could not easy again for another 6 hours as I but the wall after the second scoop. You have to pay by credit card so be aware. No cash Im afraid. It cost just around $5. If you want value for money, you can buy a pint which costs just around $6.50. you can sit outside and there are even rocking chairs. Just chill and enjoy the view of the cows grazing from the shade of the veranda.

Insert Howl Here: I am so excited to have Howling Cow just down the right from my folks’ house with hours of operation seven days a week! Kenny Chesney was playing on the radio when we visited and enjoyed a variety of flavor and sundae selections. With less than 30 minutes left before the posted closing time, the line was out the door but moving swiftly. There are many summer nights to be enjoyed on this porch overlooking the farm on the horizon!

Sweet Potato Pie and Lemon Wafer flavors are excellent. I expected to like the first better, but the latter won!Well-organized drive through process.Credit card only.NOTE: the 2-scoop option right now is served & priced as two LARGE single scoops... so you pay a little more (than the 2scoop menu price), but you also get a little more.

My only complaint is the price. I used to get a scoop at the Student Center for 25¢. It is obviously a money making cash cow (pun intended). But it IS delicious, and a pretty place sit and eat it. This is some delicious ice cream! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Howling Cow Dairy Education Center. The staff was super friendly and didn’t mind me trying out the few flavors I asked about. (If there weren’t people behind me I would have tried a few more.) It was nice to sit on the porch and eat my Banana Pudding Ice Cream while taking in the surroundings. (Farm odors notwithstanding HaHa) My only criticism is that when I was reading the ingredients for your ice cream that there are partially hydrogenated coconut oil and carrageenan. I know the product has to be stabilized and preserved, but feel like there are more better choices than these two without compromising flavor. For an occasional indulgence this is really delicious!
