Beautiful town and nice train station 🚉 with an authentic Japanese mart 😄We loved their authentic Japanese potato salad, prepared food and mochi. Their Japanese pan (bread) were not as good as Korean or Taiwanese bread (imho the outer bread was okay but tuna fillings were too little and cheese fillings were too salty). Overall item prices are reasonable.I highly recommend this place in the weekend picnicking at train station bench to enjoy the Japanese small train station town like atmosphere.

Been meaning to go to this unique Japanese mart glad I finally went in. The mart contains toys to kitchenware and prepared baked goods as well as frozen items. It has some unique items and is closer to my house instead of going to H Mart for ingredients required to make Japanese food. Store is clean and nicely laid out. Looking forward to my next trip there.

Both Tawara mart and the restaurant have always been a favorite among myself and all my friends. My coworkers and I used to go at least 3x a week for lunch until work relocated too far away. The staff and service at both locations are always friendly and helpful, and the food is unbeatable. I have never had less than an incredible experience, the owner Kiki has clearly poured her heart and soul into this business and it shows.

A super authentic Japanese convenience store, and an excellent offshoot of Tawara, next-doors authentic Japanese restaurant. Theyve got imported Japanese snacks of all shapes and sizes, school/office supplies that are as adorable as they are functional, and prepared food that always makes me ask has anything that Tawara made ever really been bad?

Ive been going to tawara mart since it opened! Its super cute I love all the pre-made food you can buy! My favorite are the cheese corn-dogs(?) I miss those so much - havent seen them in a hot minute. The pastries are really good. The trinkets they also sell are super cute! Such a great place to go for a quick meal.

Its a Japanese convenience store with to go meals! I really like japanese food, so this place is 5 stars for me. The only other place I know of that has these specialty items is mitsua market in Edgewater, its nice to have another place to shop. Tawara japanese restaurant next door is also very good.

I have been going to Tawara restaurant for years so when I heard they were opening a market nextdoor I knew I would love it! They have an amazing selection of asian cooking supplies and condiments. Theres always something new to try in the candy section. Whenever I need a quick lunch, the premade meals are my go to. They are usually dishes you can get at the restaurant next store but its so convenient.

Love this little conbini. The prepared food items, and bakery items are always surprisingly delicious. They also have amazing lattes and softcream. A great place to pick up Japanese produce (kabocha, yams, cabbage, mushrooms, umeboshi,etc), sauces, and other groceries. They even have adorable gifts and popular cosmetics (highly recommend the heroine make liquid liner). I just love this spot, super convenient because mitsuwa is not very convenient to get to (and busy), and the staff is always super nice

Went here for the first time today with my boyfriend and had an amazing experience! the staff was extremely friendly and polite. we had a lovely conversation with the employee while we shopped. the variety of foods and products was super impressive given that the store is of smaller size. we bought a ton of snacks and drinks, and also tried some of the pre-made meals they had available which were also delicious. we will definitely be returning very soon!!

Real Japanese owned “Conveni” the owners are so nice and the store is very very clean! They have a mix of Japanese grocery staples and also some really cool bento dishes. They even had matcha “soft cream” and even a stationary section. The bread might be the highlight for me personally though.Will be coming back with my family, this is truly a rare blessing for us to enjoy this quality food in NJ.

Wow! Towara Mart offers delicious prepared food, Japanese bakery items (made on site), and an array of authentic products that are staples in Japan but difficult (impossible) to find in the US.The shelves at Towara Mart are lined with labels that provide really helpful descriptions of products and do so in English!Store is clean. Staff is friendly. Selection is unusually good. Prices are fair. Definitely recommend

Imagine walking into a japnese convinience store filled with snacks, drinks, lunches and dinners, and groceries, where the customer service is fantastic and the food is other worldly. Now stop imagining. 11/10 love this place. would give it 6 stars if i could.

Such a cute little store. The prices are a little higher than you would find at a major grocery store but youre helping a small business. They have such unique food finds here. Rhey have staple items as well as items you wouldnt typically see in a regular store. I always stock up in ramen and udon noodles when I come. They have a variety of their own prepared foods and sauces which I highly reccomend. Their restaurant next door makes the food items they sell. My favorite is the chicken karaage bowl. The baked goods are excellent. Try the matcha rice krispie treat! Its inside a strip mall which has parking which a huge plus.

Greatest little store with fresh veggies, prepared food, fresh bakery items and a variety of amazing package goods from Japan. Lovely staff including very friendly young gentleman at the register. Helpful. They should do cooking classes so we can learn more about the array of great ingredients and how to use them. Will return.

Best surprise of the month. Japanese wonderland, homemade prepared foods, snacks, desserts, imported drinks, green tea soft serve ice cream, candies and much more.

Great store and great staff! Greg and Kiko are super nice and very helpful. My wife and I love the potato croquets, they are insanely good. I recommend you give them a try. Honorable mention goes out to the Seafood Gyoza dumplings in the refrigerated area. Great to keep in the freezer at home for an authentic snack at home. Very delicious!!! You guys have all the ingredients for success, best of luck!!

This place keeps getting better and better. Theyve updated the decorations recently, and flipped where the cooler and pastries were put. Im not sure if this is new, but I also noticed helpful information printouts under each product, which help translate and describe what the item is. Everything here is so yummy!

Brand new place but they are doing it right! Tawara the resteraunt next door is legendary and Tawara Mart is no different. They have an awesome selection of different baked goods, frozen, fresh, and packaged products. This is gonna be my go to spot for lunch break!!

Tawara Mart in Rasmey New Jersey is truly a gem. This Japanese specialty store is stocked wall to wall with Japanese imports. What is most impressive about Tawara Mart is the variety of Japanese delicacies, fresh baked goods and take out meals prepared daily in their kitchen. A truly unique experience. I highly recommend the chicken/pork katsu donburi and the negimiso pastry. Amazing!

Our favorite Japanese restaurant in Ramsey has opened a Japanese mart and general store...its awesome!! From delicious authentic takeout Japanese cuisine 🍙to hot coffee in a can☕ to Japanese novelty items🧧!! We loved everything we purchased...salmon omusubi, rice crackers with umi wrapped in seaweed and adorable socks to name few! Please check it out...youll love it!

This Is a store like non other ! The Tawara Restaurant has opened a new shop next door . They have a a variety of heat and eat meals as well as a delicious assortment of homemade baked goods borh sweet and savory . A real time saver for people to pick up a genuine Japanese meal for the price of a fast food hambergrr . I noticed that even vegan meals are available .There is also a large assortment of Asian ingredients available . No longer will Asian people in the area have to fight traffic to find a product they need . Also great for those of us non Asians who like to dabble in Japanese, Korean or other Asian cooking . There are also many frozen products to be had .To top it off there are many Japanese snacks and treats !My favorite was the soft serve green tea ice cream ! Next weekend I will go back to try the pineapple flavor.The owners are English and Japanese speaking and are very helpful !

This is my sister and brother-in-laws place, so how can I not give it 5 stars? But it really is an honest rank,both of them have put tremendous effort into creating a truly authentic Japanese experience with Tawara Mart. For those that know, youll be amazed to see how true the combini vibe is here. And on that note, Im really glad to see how many customers understand the difference between REAL Nihon culture/food/products vs all the misinformation and horrifying assumptions of Japan that circulate about. Decided to try this place today. My wife is Japanese and we normally have to drive 45 minutes to an hour to find markets with what she wants. While Tawara Mart is still about an hour away (we live in Warren County) it had everything she wanted. This Japanese general store has a little bit of everything; ready to eat meals, snacks, specialty kit-kat bars, Japanese drinks, condiments, soup bases, toiletries, cosmetics, and frozen items like ramen, udon, and shumai. Rather than fight traffic around Mitsuwa in Edgewater or HOPE we find Japanese items in H-Mart or Kam Man, we know we can find what we need here. It’s only been open a few weeks and we hear even more will be available soon. Don’t forget to try the dole whip! I go to Disney World twice a year while visiting my parents in Florida. The dole whip is just like Disney’s.
