Ive been taking my cars to Jessie (owner) The last 25 years. Always Great service. On the few occasions when something did not seem exactly right, I took the car back and issue resolved. The shop stays extremely busy, and its nice when the owner remembers your name. I havent lived near the shop for a while, and still have my car serviced there. Whenever he retires, I hope another trusting individual takes over the shop.

Jessie is definitely the most honest owner and mechanic Ive come across - he has done a lot of work and routine maintenance to 2 of my vehicles and has always allowed me to bring my own oil and parts. I enjoy how thorough they are and he lets you know the issue and will even show you whats going on before doing or suggesting any work. He has the honesty is the best policy type of business that folks whom dont work on vehicles regularly look for and thats why you shouldnt be surprised if hes booked out a couple days. Not a good experience at all. They up sale you to the max.I had to go back 3 different to fix the same issue.their prices on parts are absolutely outrageous.I provided a water pump kit for my car for them to put in. After replacing that My car is still leaking coolant fluid..Not good service at all!!I would never recommend this shop to any one ever..!!

Fair prices and good mechanics. Frank serviced my vehicle and did an outstanding job. Thank you Frank master mechanic.The 2 ladies at the front desk are not friendly at all. Their customer service needs a tune-up for sure. Besides from being unfriendly, they acted as if they could care less if I do business with them. Made me feel unwelcomed. When the job was done I went inside to pay and had to literally convince and persuade the lady at the front desk to accept my cash and let me pay. Apparently they have a policy you can not pay until she knows how many miles your vehicle has. I told her how many miles it has and she still had an issue with completing my transaction. Smh. I asked to use the restroom and the ladies looked at each other and ask Is the bathroom out of order? as if they dont know if their restroom in their business is available(bathroom was available and worked perfect). Transaction wasnt smooth and customer service needs to improve, other then that would have received 5 stars.

I used to come o this place but about 5 or so years ago they replaced all the good mechanics. I came in for a engine light which was due to an air leak. I was charged $80 and the mechanic who supposedly did the smoke test said it was due to gas cap. I replaced the gas cap and error code is back. I got tired of it and youtubed how to do a smoke test and found that it was a vacuum hose in the engine. This used to be a good place now that big mechanic with short hair I think is just lazy and made me not to trust this place anymore. Also this place is always busy and Jesse seems to be always rushing... Im afraid he is going to get a heart attack since he seems to be in a lot of stress.

My car was making some very loud whistling noises and I could smell burnt oil, I tried other mechanics but this one fixed the problem for a fraction of the price the other people gave me. A friend of mine recommended this place to me and it is definitely worth the 30 minute drive. Ive been using them for a few years now and they havent disappointed me once yet.

Couldnt get my driver side low beam headlight to work after replacing the bulb. Checked the fuses. Checked that the bulb was working by connecting it to the passenger side. I decided to take it to a mechanic. I had initially called my primary place but they were too busy and wouldnt have time and couldnt take a look until Wednesday (called on Monday) as it seemed to be an electrical issue.Decided to call neighborhood garage as they had decent reviews on Yelp and google and they were also within walking distance from my neighborhood. They said they could take a look and it may take a few hours. I asked how much it would take to diagnose and they said $50 or $60 (dont exactly remember). So I decided to drop off my car.The lobby looked clean. Greeted by the receptionist right away. Took my name, number, description of the problem and said they would call me back when they were done. Pretty quick and smooth process.After less than hour they called me and told me the bulb just wasnt screwed all the way and said I can come pick it up and no charge. I felt they could of charged me but didnt. Picked up my car shortly after. Also a quick process.Even though the service as minor, I enjoyed their their prompt and honest service, clean environment, and professional staff. I will definitely be considering them for my future services.

Hands down this is the best automotive shop I have been too since living in Sacramento. Jessie the owner is honest and reliable. He doesnt give you the run around and lets you know exactly what is needed to fix your car. I brought in my 2005 Toyota Tundra for a timing belt and the cost was perfect. It was very affordable and he doesnt use cheap parts. Prior to beginning the work he showed me the parts he was using and I didnt even have to ask, which was really cool. He knows cars and I felt at ease knowing my truck was being taken care of. If I had one complaint it would have been my initial first call. Unfortunately when I was asking for an estimate the secretary didnt do a good job. She was not able to give a exact quote at and it all most felt it was more of a bother that she had to get that information. Which I found odd because you need that. I called back a second time and pressed for an exact quote which the secretary was able to do. It just felt like I had to pull teeth to get it. But other than that Jessie made up for any bad phone service I initially received. I recommend this place highly for good, honest, reliable service.

We have been coming here for a few years now and Jesse is super helpful and genuine. I live in El Dorado Hills and all of the mechanics here give way overpriced estimates. This place keeps it real and wont take advantage. Id rather drive 40 miles to come here instead of local mechanics.

This is, by far, one of the best places to go for an oil change, maintainance and repair. Weve all had that pressure of being told to buy different things at major corporate repair shops, but this place is no pressure at all. Theyll tell you whats wrong and thats it. I heard good things about this place and brought my car for diagnosys. Jessie seems to be great guy, he didnt charge me for diagnosys because it was hard to identify. He understood issue from my words and advised to come back once I get check engine light on. I will definitely come back :-)

I have been referred to the Neighborhood Garage by happy customers for the last 7 years and finally went in after my cars warranty expired. I needed a complete brake job, and they told me when I went in that I could wait another 20,000 miles because the brakes looked good, but it had been 50,000 miles since the last fix and the wheels shimmied when I braked at 50+ mph so I told them to go ahead. They said they could do it all, both axles, new rotors, pads and brake fluid. Compared to the price from Toyota they saved me over $320! The car drives like new again. In and out in 3 hours. WOW! Lee is a master mechanic and a pleasure to deal with as was the owner and receptionist. The lobby was filled with people and they all told me similar stories about how pleased they were. This was a month ago and I have dropped by twice since then with little nit noid issues that he fixed on the spot for $5. This is unheard of service. I am a very happy customer.

Always a worry free experience when I take my 1999 Honda Accord to this shop. The head mechanic is very trustworthy and always gives me the best options for any repairs my car may require. I highly recommend this shop.

A few years ago, my mother had a list of repairs recommended by a local dealership that came to about $1100. We took her Corolla to Neighborhood Garage, along with the list of repairs and when we picked up her car, we were charged for a lube and oil change. A few things on the list was so minor that they didnt charge for it and the rest of the recommended repairs was not necessary.Last week, I got a dealership estimate for replacement of lower control arms, rack and pinion, boots etc. on my Toyota Sienna that came to about $4500. I remembered the time my mother took her car in and the difference an honest repair can make, so I took my van in and the result was a savings of $3,300.

Mike found a rather important issue concerning my transmission and they fixed it free of charge. Mike was very thorough in his inspection of my vehicle and made me feel safe for our trip we are about to go on. I have gone to other shops and he has them beat hands down. Wow I can’t recommend this place enough.They helped me realize how much other shops were trying to rip me off. 3 other shops told me I needed almost 1400$ worth of repairs. I came here since I heard from locals that he is the most honest mechanic in town, and he told me I only need 100$ worth of repairs for an engine mount, until another 10,000 miles, then I have to replace my timing belt, which is about 600$ for parts and labor. The other shops made me feel like my car was going to break down if I didn’t get it fixed soon. Swindlers!!Come to neighborhood garage if you want the No BS and honest price for your cars repairs.

Unsure of how he earns with the honesty and fairness. I guess we are all used to the high priced cheats out there. Jesse and his team are plain awesome! Folsom Lake Honda, made sure to loosen by break pads and tried to force me into changing the pads pre-maturely. It started making one of those screeching noises when I would put the breaks on. I took the car to Jesse (One of my colleagues recommendation from earlier), he tightened up the breaks and asked me to come in about 3 or 4 months as the breaks had some wear left. What honesty. My hats are off to him. Today after 5 months, my wife complained about the breaks, and I guess it is time to really replace the breaks. I am off to Jesse this afternoon for brake replacement.Other businesses must learn from Jesse...

I definitely will not be returning. I waisted two days here. The first day I dropped my car off to have the alternator replaced. A few hours later I received a phone call saying the one that I brought in was defective and that I needed a new one. I was also told they would run more test and then call me back. Hours go by and i hear nothing so i decide to call them. After being told that the one I had originally brought in had only been tested but not actually put into my vehicle I went to pick it up so that I could return and get my money back. Then I was told by auto zone that I could only be offered a replacement because it had already been placed in my car. So I get a replacement and even had the old one tested only to find out there was nothing wrong it. Take it back to neighborhood garage and they tell me that they will have to keep my car overnight because they dont have time for it now. The next morning comes and I still havent heard anything so I give them a call. I find out that my car has been ready and they just never called to tell me to pick it up. Finally I go to pick up the car and find out that I have been charged and extra $20 because they took my alternater out multiple times, which I was never made aware of. I ask to speak to a manager and the lady behind the desk begins to argue with me that I knew about the charge and its not their fault. Finally after 20 min Jessie comes in also begins to argue with me yelling and throwing his up. They take the charge off and I leave. Throughout this whole experience both women behind the desk were very rude and I was never once offered any updates on my vehicle or even told to come pick it up. They have the worst customer service and are just overall unprofessional.

Took serveal weeks to fix a window motor that they said would take an hour to fix. They also have NO time management. You can call and make an appointment and have that be no bearing for when you come in. This rush in first come first service is fine if they wouldnt try and decieve people into thinking their appointments actually give people an assertive time to get their cars fixed.
