From my interaction with his staff, its clear Shannon parlays those keen core values to his people. An example was a defective major component that manufacturer BRP failed to honor with my 2-year warranty or their recall process. Horrible Process. The buying process was good. The service after the sale was horrible. We purchased a new 21 foot pontoon. They could not get us a trailer so they put it on a 26 foot trailer. I asked for a better fit trailer and I was told there was nothing they could do because I already signed the purchase order. I called them multiple times for 3 weeks and they never returned my calls. Do yourself a favor and pick a different dealer.In response to the Dealers Response.Working with Kyle to solve the problem was not good, Tommy never returned my calls. So after a call to Bennington Corporate and leaving a message for the GM at River Valley. I finally received a call from Shannon the GM. He to his word is the only one that did call back. I find it interesting that after I posted a negative review that they are interested in the problem.I stand behind the facts in my review.

My wife and I had been looking for a Yamaha 210 for a while (we were open to either an SX or AR) and we are so glad we were able to meet with Joshua Smith. We are first time boat owners and we didnt know where to begin. He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to run through all the different nuances of the boat.We started the process feeling unsure and left happy and confident that were going to be able to maintain and operate our boat safely. We highly recommend River Valley and specifically Joshua Smith to anyone interested in purchasing a boat.
We bought our new Bennington R23 from River Valley in Red Wing and had it delivered to us in California. Buying remotely was a little daunting but Paul helped us through it. The delivery process also isnt as easy remotely, but it was worth it to get a good deal on a great boat.

True story, went in to buy a gas cap for my 2012 Bennington pontoon, left as the owners of a new 2020 Bennington pontoon. We had a budget, they made it happen and the service since has been wonderful. I will do business with River Valley Power & Sport again. I highly recommend them!
Great experience throughout the whole process. Ordered a Yamaha boat, and Josh kept me updated on delivery status. Tommy was great in the financing department. Marv from the service department stood by while Josh gave me the walkthrough after delivery, adding in little bits of information. All three seem to genuinely have passion for what they do. Very refreshing, highly recommend.
I am very distraught at the lack of effort and the poor quality of the service of River Valley Marine. Ive had many many issues with this company and have been able to look past them but this one is beyond excusable. I called to explain issues I am having with the boat trailer that came with the boat we purchased from them. The issue is that all summer I was able to back the boat up into the garage on a slight hill or back the boat up in any other location without any problems. Right as I was putting the boat away for winter storage the surge brakes suddenly locked up on me which seemed very weird. The dealer did not give me the bypass key that was supposed to be provided from the trailer manufacturer when the boat was purchased so I used a c-clamp just to get it in the garage. I called River Valley today to ask what the issue was. I was ensured I just need to get a replacement bypass key and that will do the trick. This seemed wrong, since again all summer I had no issues. So I could have carried on and just did what they said and would have eventually probably damaged my trailer by always using the bypass to back up. So I called the actual manufacturer to understand what the issue was. He said there is an issue with the trailer brake system (bad backup solenoid) and directed me to the company to have the warranty paperwork filled out. I do not feel comfortable at all having River Valley do any work on anything I own so I am praying they have other dealers in the area that can do the repair work on my trailer once the warranty is submitted. Maybe whoever I talked to just figured I am a woman so they can just tell me whatever and it would be okay... thanks for nothing!!
I needed some canvas work done for my boat. All the staff was prompt in courteous and delivered as promised.
After dealing with subpar customer service from 2 other boat service/dealers in my area (mainly timeliness and communication) I began making the hour drive to River Valley last year. Since then I have ran into a number of issues with my 5 year old outboard motor and Brad Mader in service has made quick work of getting them handled everytime I have brought it in. Huge thank you to Brad and much appreciation to the techs who have always got me back on the water quickly.

Today is August 20th. I purchased a used Yamaha S max scooter on July 2nd. The add said it was LIKE NEW. So I contacted my salesman asked him multiple times the condition he would state it was absolutely perfect. I also asked him if they service the used vehicles when they come in or at least do it oil change and he told me absolutely and they have already did it. So I made the commitment to drive 30 miles north of the Twin Cities all the way to red wing to purchase it. When I got there it had overspray on the scooter. The side panels were gouged and The radiator cover was broken. I pointed it out to the sales man he shrugged his shoulders and said I’ll get my sales manager. So he got the sales manager they claim they never noticed the damage so they took $100 off of it which was good. So I trust they did serviced the vehicle. I got home the oil was filthy I check the air filter it was completely black and burnt. So I called the salesman that sold it to me . he said that they would make it right it would send me oil and air filter etc. the only thing that ever showed up was 1 quart of oil. I’ve made multiple phone calls to get another quarter for oil filter and radiator cover even talk to the parts department and nobody will get back to me. I would highly recommend not to buy anything through the dealership . I would never recommend family friends or anybody to do business here. They don’t service any of their used vehicles they just take Used items in and don’t service them and just jacked the price up. Complete waste of time and money extremely disappointed. If I could post pictures on this sight I would Show nobody doubted me. I also should add Somebody put a plug in the rear tire which is against the law. It should’ve been replaced. Now I need to replace the tire. Ugh

Dont trust the inventory on their website! I talked to Scott and I asked him if they had a Pioneer on hand since the website made it look like they did and Scott laughed and said they sold that unit in January but they still have it listed. Its almost June.
I bought a couple of yamaha waverunners from rob. the service was great. the service department is awesome. they take care of my boat each year and have had no problems.

DO NOT TRUST THEM! I just drove 1 hour because I was interested in buying a $25,000 side by side that they have listed for sale on their website and other sites. Its a SCAM. Its not for sale. Its the owners demo vehicle and they wont sell it. This is what they do to people in a pandemic at Christmas time so they can get people to come to their store.
I worked with Brian Nelson last month as he assisted me with possibly buying a new boat. This would have been my first boat, and I knew nothing about it other than I have wanted a fishing boat for years. I was a little self conscious about asking dumb questions, but Brian made me feel at ease and answered all of them in a way that made sense. I learned a lot about boats and about financing a boat through Brian. Although I ultimately decided not to buy a brand new boat from them, I would send anyone down to talk to Brian or anyone at River Valley Power Sports because of the great experience I had with them. If I ever decide to buy a brand new boat or any marine items, I’ll be coming here.
I cant say enough good things about the service I receive at River Valley Power & Sport. I bought a Bennington 3 years ago this summer and have it serviced there. I also have them service my Sea Ray. I live in the north metro and there is NO boat repair close to the quality and reliability I receive. For years I took my Sea Ray to a large well know company just north of the metro. Zero customer service and frankly poor motor service. Special shout out to Brad who has been helpful this year getting my pontoon back in the water quickly after some minor electrical problems.

I’ve always had a bias when it comes to dealerships, I’ve always known how the parts department makes they’re money by marking up parts by 50%-150%. These guys are not that. Dustin in parts, has helped us with all of our questions and helping us get parts faster then anyone else, these guys go above and beyond, Andy has helped me diagnose issues and solve problems. Yes they may be busy cause they’re the best dealer around, it’s worth the wait.
Parts Department are great ppl. But not much motor bike incentive to sell in sales and minimal bike inventory if youre shopping two wheel motorcycles. Boats and Side by Sides are their interest to sell from my experience. Found a great deal elsewhere

Purchased a SxS there, being 7 hours away it was all done through phone and email. Smooth process, had everything ready for when I showed up to pick it up, signed a few things and left.

So, I know that since the Governor lifted the restrictions on fishing, that many of the boat dealers are busy, right? I get that, but it doesnt justify poor service. I emailed River Valley about a couple fishing boats that i was interested in. I got a generic email from the owner, that was obviously a auto reply to my request, and then never heard back again. i took my business to 61 marine who got back to me right away, and I bought a boat that week. To me, this is a great example of a company that has terrible communication and systems in place, and poor customer service. I will never do business with this company, who apparently doesnt need the $35K I spent with 61Marine.

Zach and the Staff at River Valley Marina are great to work with...I did not know Zach when we bought our boat..I have gotten to know him after buying our boat..When and if we purchase a newer boat in the future I will trust Zach to sell us our boat. He has always returned my calls when I call with Marina questions, no matter how big or small. His experience and knowledge with boats and the river is extensive. The Marina is a great place with great people, great little store with washer and dryer an clean Restrooms with showers...
Great place! I own 2 Honda 4 wheelers and just bought a Honda Talon from here. I believe I get fair prices and Dustin “IS THE MAN”. His knowledge is superior. I had extras put on the Talon which was installed professionally.

I would watch these guys...Brought my boat in for warranty issues they said they fixed that plus found another issue and fixed that which was a bad switch .Never asked my approval and went ahead and replaced it for 250$.I asked for the bad switch back considering it worked 2 days prior Tested the switch it still works and the warranty work the were to have done is still having the same problem.Far from expressed by these clowns.!!!!! Update 3 weeks later the service manager calls and says hey we did some talking here and found out your bad switch is indeed under warranty so we will be refunding you the full amount paid in the meantime I took a trip to Greenbay WI dropped my boat in started it up and it alarmed the same error code that I originally dropped it off for.River valley did not gwt one thing right with this not one thing. I would never take anything back here ever again they cost me alot of time and money shady and disorganised and dishonest at best.

Talked to salesman told him what we were looking for the side bye side we were looking at they have coming in so we talked to the salesman he said ill hold the machine till you can come look we went the next day to find out they sold the side by side when he told us he would hold it till we go down there to make sure it was what we wanted and it turned out it was what we wanted.......

I purchased a new 2020 Spark Trixx and it was sold to me without any oil in it which caused serious damage within 5 mins of riding, and i was told it was water ready. It’s been 2 weeks ago since I purchased the ski and still am waiting for a new one. Right now i’m very upset, missed out on the biggest camp trip of the year and have not been able to ride at all. I hope they offer more to me than just a new ski.. For now my review stands, but i’m hoping i’ll be able to update the review i’ll have to see what they offer.UPDATE: I was told because of this mess Id be gifted a wrap kit, I was okay with that. but guess what... They never call me back about it and it’s been atleast a month... I asked 3 times if it’s been ordered, I’m very upset with your customer service.

They had a really nice selection of UTVs, ATVs, jet skis, boats, and pontoons unfortunately we went on July 6th which was a Monday and they were closed. we still browsed around and looked at things.
I would love to give them -5 stars! We have had a long nightmare of a story with them and the machine we purchased from them new. I just want to warn anybody that is considering going here that their service and parts department is an absolute JOKE! They are rude, they will argue, they wont return phone calls, they will tell you that you are wrong. We called the general manager and he said he would get it handled and call back which never happened. Then in the end after all the back and forth and money wasted on parts we purchased from them the parts department finally called back and said that they were wrong and that they sold us the wrong parts. How can you treat your customers like they are criminals!?? Its crazy how people talk to their customers these days. All we wanted to do was get reimbursed for the parts they sold us and we had to go through a full week of arguing and back and forth with them. What a nightmare!! Do not go to this dealer!!

Looking at purchasing a new yamaha boat. They are 7000 dollars more than several other dealers. Because the yamaha manufacture is closed they are taking advantage of this. Make sure you look at other dealers before you purchase anything from them.
Kyle Price was my sales man when I purchased my pontoon. Definitely wanted a new pontoon but wasnt able to make those prices work as of now. But Kyle was able to know what I was looking for and helped me get into agreat used 2012 Premier 240 Solaris. Excellent help from everyone. Been back for a few service parts and very helpful too!
I did not purchase my Can Am but sure wish I would have. I went in for routine maintenance and worked with Joe. He took great care of me and have since sent in a couple of friends and all have the same to say. But the reason for my review is I talked to Jeff in the finance office about an extended service contract. Jeff was extremely helpful explaining all my options I had. Which I did not get when I purchased the machine. I ended up purchasing a warranty from him at a very reasonable price. You have a couple of great guys there and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some fun because they sell everything there. Thanks a Jeff and Joe you made a customer for life.
Purchased a 2013 model year boat as a demo unit in 2014. The boat was sold to me in as-new condition and was communicated as such. As it was one year old and had about 50 hours on it, the price was reasonable and they included covers and a keel guard as part of the deal.Flash forward three years and the keel guard adhesive is starting to fail so I peel it back to replace it, only to find significant damage to the keel which was shoddily repaired using just fiberglass and resin without paint over it. Guess the keel guard did the job of concealing the damage. Called Shannon who is the general manager and all he could say is what a great deal you got on the boat and some wear and tear is expected on a one year old boat. So I sent him the paperwork showing as-new on he sale ticket and he passed me off to his service manager Darrel who said they would come pick up the boat, make the repair in a week and deliver it back detailed complete.A week later and no updates the boat was still not back in my garage so I call and ask what is up. Well, things are really busy he says and it will be another week. I was concerned about the snow and salt on the roads but he assured me they would put it on a flatbed to bring it back but they would clean it up completely before sending it out the door. A few days later the boat arrives after being towed BEHIND a flatbed, complete with the sand and bugs from the previous summer still in and on the boat.Called the owner to voice my opinion, never heard from him. Never once did anyone at River Valley apologize for lying. Never buy a used boat from them without removing all add-ons that can conceal damage.
Late summer of 2018I met Zach shortly before his company changed owners. I had opportunity to observe Zach dealing with his customers while I was waiting my turn. He really makes good effort to deal with each person and gives his entire attention to them even when others are waiting. You won’t be ignored.We had a lengthy discussion of what I wanted in a boat. Then he showed me a couple boats that fit what I wanted. We had to travel to two marinas to see them and he devoted the entire evening to do this. I made a choice then we visited the one I wanted again and he helped with making an offer which was accepted. I arranged for a survey then there were a few things that needed servicing. Once that was done we went for a sea trial. This failed badly. I have to give 5 stars to Zach and his mechanic for spending a hot day in the engine room keeping us going. Then Zach recommended they service the boat. During the servicing Zach called me several times to discuss the progress. The company changed owners during this time but as far as this deal was concerned, it went pretty smoothly with only a couple delays. Again Zach called and kept me informed. I really appreciated this as this was my first “big” boat and I was uneasy about the events. The repairs were completed and we eventually had a successful sea trial. This was an all afternoon event and Zach went over every detail as we operated the boat. We closed the deal very seamlessly and the paperwork was done step by step with good explanations.This purchase was top of line. I don’t think I’ve ever had this fine of service on a vehicle purchase. I have to give this 5 stars even though we had issues. They were taken care of very professionally and I was notified of the progress.I highly recommend Zach at River Valley Marina/ River Valley Power and Sport for your boat purchase.

On 3/7/17 I purchased a slightly used (258 miles) 2016 Polaris Ranger from River Valley and Power (Rochester). Unbeknowst to me the the prior owner had modified the air box and installed an after market air filter. I primarily use my Ranger as a yard tool. On 7/3/18 I went on a trail ride in dusty conditions resulting in a blown engine (1,400 miles) and a $2,400 repair bill. River Valley and Power has chosen to take zero responsibility for selling me a nearly new Ranger with a modified air box and filter. Proceed with caution when buying used equipment from River Valley.

I purchased a 2006 used snowmobile from Paul and was pleased with the price and condition of the machine. That afternoon it overheated on my property 25 miles south of Red Wing. Even though I had signed a waiver purchasing it As Is, Paul came down with a co worker and another machine, got mine started and took it back to the shop. The next day after checking it out, we determined that some snow and mud got around the radiator and when it melted/ran off, it worked fine. He then brought it down to me the next day. All at no charge. What great service!! I would highly recommend this dealership and will look to them when I replace my Honda four wheeler and John Deere side by side .

Spyder Service is Superb! Called late on a Friday for a rush service need, Joe the service manager had numerous other jobs ahead of me, he still offered to take my bike in and fit it in before an upcoming multiday trip.Bike was fixed properly, at a great price, and fixed early in the week! We had a great trip after the repairs.
Visited this dealer today and looked at a 2016 Yamaha jet ski that we were told was new. There was dock rash on both sides, several deep scratches that went through the gel coat, and a peeling decal. When we inquired about the damage, we were told that the unit was a demo that was borrowed by a former employee who didn’t take care of it properly but it was still new because it has never been registered. We were then given a price that was almost $1500 over NADA retail. When we pointed this out the sales manager said that the machine didn’t have a book value because it was new. Apparently we have different definitions of what new means. Anyway, we were told that they were holding firm on their price and anticipated “a lot of activity” after they updated their web site with this new price (I previously heard a sales person say this machine was not on the web) so if we “wanted to be the first ones to get it we could”. We left. Bottom line this is definitely a buyer beware business. Run the numbers, make sure you have a good understanding of what fair market value is for what you are looking at, and use caution if buying a “new demo”. If you read through the complaints this isn’t the first time they have claimed an employee damaged a demo unit that they were attempting to sell as new.
I don’t understand how their service department stays in business. Last fall I called them repeatedly to get my boat winterized - never received a call back (and when I say repeatedly, I mean at least a dozen times along with email). This spring, I need to have summer start up service done on my boat. I’ve called and been told I need to talk to Chuck, as he handles I/O. I’ve called Chuck at least five times and left two messages during the past week - no response. What gives? I don’t think Chuck exists. They have enough time to send me repeated marketing emails about their boat sales and service (I mean at least one a week), but can’t answer the phone when I am actually trying to give them business? Terrible, absolutely terrible.
