Two years ago I bought a used 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage from this dealership, with 34K miles on it. This summer the AC would not charge and I took it to the dealership and they said it could not be repaired because it had front end damage on the passenger side and that had bent the frame and the AC hose was rubbing on it and was leaking. By front end damage, I assumed they meant that because of the low profile of the car, hitting a pothole (I live in Tehama County and potholes are just one of the perks) had caused the frame to bend. When I took it to a local mechanic in Red Bluff, he said it had had major front end damage and had been repaired. He pointed out that the hood doesnt close with a tight seal and showed me the bent frame. This was no pothole. This was a collision. The dealership did not disclose this at the time I bought it. They sure didnt have any trouble finding it when I took it in with the AC problem two years later, though. What a bunch of crooks! I tried calling the person who had helped me, Mike in the service dept., and he would not return my calls. So, I figure he knew it was pre-existing damage that they had failed to disclose. Otherwise, why not return my calls?
I had an absolutely amazing experience with Redding Subaru. The sales people were all very knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy. I felt absolutely no pressure to buy my new forester, which definitely helped me to feel comfortable making the decision to buy it! Given the current situation with the high price of used cars, I came to the conclusion that a new car with a warranty was the best value. I was nervous buying a new car, but everyone was so friendly and helpful throughout the whole process.I am so happy that I bought this car! This Forester has absolutely everything I could want in a car. It rides smooth, has plenty of cargo capacity, handles well off-road, gets great gas mileage, and all sorts of wonderful smart features. I love the smart cruise control automatic emergency braking. I have never felt safer on the road!

My salesman was Tom and my finance guy was Brady. Tom never tried to sell me on the car. He treated me like a person and simply was available if I had questions or wanted to drive the car. Likewise, Brady never once tried to upsell me on anything as we were doing paperwork. Both Tom and Brady were transparent about the car and financing without overburdening me with information. The whole process was just easy and was truly a pleasure doing business with those two guys. Great choice hiring those two, Redding Subaru.

Dealer mark up on top of MSRP. They will try to weasel in paperwork that has higher APR than agreed upon then get offended when called out on it. They charge customers for work on common issues that Subaru of America offer to do for free because they put out dealer service bulletins on those issues. Just incredibly shady/sleezy
The staff at Subaru Redding were over the top helpful. This was my first new car purchase. I already knew I wanted a Subaru. I had already decided on a model based on my own reasons and recommendations of friends and family.I wasn’t pressured into something I didn’t want.I am pleased with this forester and plan on this car lasting for years to come.
This review is for the service department. I had to make 2 different appointments and drive down there twice from where I live 100 miles away. A month and a half after I purchased a new 2021 legacy one of the seat belts malfunctioned. I drove down there just for them to tell me they had to order a new on in order for it to be under warranty. Ok, could have easily told me that over the phone. 2nd appt they replaced the seat belt. When I pick up my car I check the new seat belt to make sure it works, the seat where it was installed is loose and flopping, umm, you didnt notice that when you were finished with replacing the belt? These guys are very friendly. But professional? Absolutely not. I will not be taking my car here again. I thought I bought my car from a great dealership, apparently their awards all over the walls are from sales

Our sales consultant at Redding Subaru was extremely helpful. His assistance helped us decide which model would be best. I am 61 and he helped with seat adjustments that were very comfortable. We will be returning Friday to purchase a car.
This is the one and only place we have ever come for the last 15 years to service our Forester. Always excellent personalized service and never any attempts to sell us anything we don’t need. Service doesn’t get better than this.

Took car in for starter issue. 40k mileage on car. Was told after inspection which I did not ask for, that they wanted to replace power steering pump, (leaking). Replace pan gasket, (leaking). Replace CV boots, (cracked and leaking), I dont drive this car much and it is parked inside, in the same spot. There is not one drop of fluid on the floor. This is clearly a case of over sale. Or if you look hard enough, youll find something. There repair bill was far more than the car is worth. Did I mention it was a 1998. Owner responded, he missed the point. If s car is not leaking oil or fluid, it would be correct to assume that nothing needs fixing. He mentioned that some people dont wish to spend that much on an older car. Older yes, car had 40k miles on it. Always garaged. I get it that he is sticking up for his crew, but really guy. By the by, I never disagreed about axle boots,I had a certified shop replace all brakes and rotors, and install CV axles and boots, not just boots for less the Subaru was going to charge me for two boots and front brakes only. Think about it. I love Subarus, just dont like the way their shop runs up the bill. There is no defense for that. Appreciate the owners response even though it missed the mark.

I have owned 5 Subaru and this was a very pleasant place to buy my 5th. Went in with what I wanted, bought a brand new outback with cash and got treated well. Ive taken my older outbacks there and always superb service and the work is spot on. Wouldnt trust a non Subaru mechanic to touch my car ever. And for the gal who said her mechanic didnt find a loose bolt on tranny. Cmon now he wants your business he will tell you anything. These guys are good. Period
We took our Outback in for the 60k service including oil change and everything was overtightened so much that the next time we went to change the oil the plug was essentially fused to the pan, turning a quick oil change into over an hour of them trying to get everything loosened and eventually giving up. I’ve been referred to a mechanic who will hopefully be able to get it off, and the pan may need to be replaced from the how deeply it was pushed in.ETA: Within an hour or so of posting my 1 star review, the general manager John Campbell called. He said it was basically impossible for this to have happened but that for the next oil change they’ll make sure they get us in, free service & give a loaner car. So I guess I really should have given them a chance to learn from it & that’s nice they’re trying to make it right even if they don’t see how it could have gone wrong. I’ve modified my star rating to reflect the customer service responsiveness and because I feel guilty for being a jerk that trashes a business online before even giving them a chance to make it right.
Dalin Boek did an outstanding job of selling us a 2021 Subaru Outback Touring. We bought it late Saturday afternoon. He stayed after hours to detail our new Subaru and then spent a bunch of time in the parking lot in the dark giving us one-on-one instructions on all the bells and whistles. We should also mention Cody Rollins who did all of the financial paperwork. He stayed late as well. He was friendly and very informative from start to finish.

I recently took 2010 Forrester in for an airbag safety recall. I picked up my car at the end of the day and a light was on my dash that wasnt on when I dropped it off in the morning. The service department agreed to look over the car the following day. They called to let me know that the steering angle sensor was not functioning properly and said they would fix it for over $600 between parts and labor. All for something that wasnt broken when I dropped off the car in the first place. Bottom line I wont be returning to the service center and my next vehicle will not be a SubaruEdit: originally 1 star but after some hassle the GM personally called me and arranged to have the service center complete the repair at no charge.
I bought a new Subaru with them. Both times they were three weeks out to get an oil change. That is their nice way of saying we dont want your business. So I thank you and I will never be buying or servicing my vehicles at this dealership again.Yet again I tried for an oil change and told there was nothing till the end of the month. Even after I told the lad anytime will work even a drop off. The response apparently was an empty promise. I am done with this place.

It is very thorough, complete & clean.The service tech. discusses all that has been done & anything that needs to be done. The waiting room is very clean, complete with coffee, water & rest rooms. It is very comfortable with lounge chairs & T.V.The entire staff at Redding Subaru are very courteous, friendly & professional. I personally am happy to have them available to keep my Forester is perfect condition.

I was very impressed with my one and only experience at Redding Subaru. I do not live anywhere near Redding and my Outback needed a serious repair in order to get home. I was almost resigned to being stuck for at least a day or two and expecting an expensive bill at the end. I called Redding Subaru early the next morning and Michael said to bring my car in right away. Michael said if I left my car there all day, he could probably have it repaired by the end of that day. I was very pleased about possibly having my car back by 5pm, but Michaels team ended up fixing my car so quickly, I was back on the road at noon and on my way home that same day! The cost of the repair was very reasonable and I left Redding a happy man again. Thank you Michael and team at Redding Subaru, bravo!

I was traveling and going to be passing through Redding in about and hour and needed an oil change very desperately so I called Redding Subaru. They said they would try to fit me in but might be a 45 minutes wait until they could get to my car, which was fine with me and I appreciated the accommodation. To my surprise, before I could even finish a very nice steak from Lumberjacks across the street, they called and said my vehicle was ready. This is service done right and I very much appreciate it! Redding Subaru is a great place to buy a car. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. They arent pushy, and they take the chore out of buying. Facility is clean and well maintained. Comfy area to wait in while the car is being serviced.

I was traveling through Redding on a 4 month road trip when my GPS started glitching out. I stopped by and they were able to fit me in without an appointment. Both service guys I worked with were extremely helpful and polite. They resolved my issue and set me on my way. :)
Make sure you check the car fax before you sign off to any used car! I Financed a car through them which was first owned by the general manager. I tried to then sell it 10 months later and that’s when i found out it was in an accident before it was mine. I was never made aware of this before signing. I then went back to have Subaru/Kia buy it back from me and it turned into this while Ordeal that lasted months and this huge problem was never solved. Moral of the story is make sure you know what you’re doing when you go purchase a used car from a dealership!
No signs to route customers between the repair desk and the parts desk so I stood in the wrong line for several minutes while the service guy ignored me. Parts guy was timely and helpful though.
They did the repairs on my car in half the time they said it would take and supplied me with a loaner that was awesome.
Topnotch service department. I was very well treated here by service rep Michael R. In Redding from out of town when needed a repair. He was on top of getting us fixed in as timely a manner as possible. Car was a few miles past warranty, but he covered the repair regardless. Class operation!

1st oil change..I have a maintenance plan with them and had to tell them that..they were ready to charge me..should be available in the computer so I didnt have to deal with this..Other than that it was quick and great..
I have purchased over 25 vehicles for my work and Redding Subaru has given me the best service I have ever received from anyone. It was so go that on my last purchase with them I wanted to say thanks by purchasing an extended warranty. My only problem is that I forgot that I had purchased the warranty and after having several major safety and mechanical problems I happened to remember about this warranty and called to ask why they didn’t fix these issues on the warranty and also to look into a reimbursement. I have been calling for a week now and they will not return my calls. I expected way more after such a good start but now I’m not so sure.

Took my Outback in for oil change and tire rotation as a waiter. It took less than an hour. Service manager and staff very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I always have questions about how features on my car work, and they explain and demonstrate with patience. I like this service department so well I try to ensure Im visiting Redding from my home in the Monterey area when my vehicle is due for service.
All of the guys I worked with were genuine and very helpful. When they didnt have the exact model/color I wanted they had one driven in from out of town. They also gave me a great deal on the car. I would definitely recommend these guys.
These folks are the real deal! I have never owned a Subaru but my daughter absolutely loves them. I got the 2019 Subaru Legacy and am totally in love! I tagged along today with my father and grandmother while she traded in two vehicles for a Subaru Outback, as we are downsizing. I have to say I personally know little about buying or selling cars, and it was made pretty easy for even I to understand by the sales associates. Michael was helpful, patient and friendly the entire time we were there, as was Ryan from financing and the general manager Paul. By the way, Paul bent over backwards for my grandma so she could also afford a warranty for her/our Outback. It also must be said (or typed) that literally all the employees we encountered were cheery and had good senses of humor. We did not see anyone hanging around looking glum! Note: This review is only about the SERVICE department. I would never buy a car there and pay the $3,000 regional adjustment for any of their vehicles.I have a 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek that I bought in NC last year. Over the past 8 months, I have moved across the country twice and have been to 12 different Subaru dealers. This has been the first and only Subaru dealer I have ever been to where I feel good after I leave. The service staff are attentive, courteous, and go out of their way to make sure youre satisfied with your experience. I took my car in because there was noise coming from the rear suspension. They replaced some defective parts, but the noise persisted. When I brought it back, they gave me a brand new courtesy vehicle and were very keen on fully understanding the problems at hand and then relaying the solutions back to me in clear verbiage.Subaru is known for making great cars, but their dealerships often suffer, especially in the service departments in my experience. Redding Subaru does not fit their cohorts mold in any way. I have the utmost respect and appreciation for the service folks here.
I went into Redding Subaru last weekend and purchased a used car. It was a pleasantly different experience than I am used to when working with a car dealership. The guys were very honest and did not force me towards a certain vehicle. It was the first time I went to a dealership and did not feel forced into a sale. I love Redding Subaru! Everyone who works there seems to genuinely enjoy what they do, and theyre extremely friendly and helpful with their clientele. I dealt mainly with Jason while I was there, and he went above and beyond for me. I had to have my motor replaced and they gave me a loaner car in the meantime. Jason helped remove my car seat and install it in the loaner car, and then did the same for me when I got my car back. Anyone who has to deal with carseats knows what a pain they are, but he did it with a smile on his face! Seriously so happy to have these guys nearby. They are a great business! We bought a Forester a couple of weeks ago and love it. Brandon was a great sales person, and Cory was very helpful installing the accessories we wanted, was by far the best experience we have had buying a new car. We have taken a trip to San Francisco and to Trinidad had great gas mileage and loved how it handled on very different driving conditions. Wed recommend it to anyone!

I went in for a test drive and drove out with a new Outback. Redding Subaru had a car with the color and options I wanted in their impressive inventory. I hadnt planned on buying a car that day so I didnt have a check or pink slip for my trade in with me. The dealership had a salesperson follow me up to Mount Shasta (60 mi) for the check and pink slip so that I didnt have to drive back to Redding the next day. I wasnt expecting that kind of service. This could be the start of a beautiful relationship.
