After having recently moved back to Redding was pleasantly surprised by the updates, looks very streamlined, and modern, nice change. Pretty good mens department, sure beats Macys, and pretty modern designs. Lacked much Liz Claiborne, (looking for Christmas gifts), but happy to see the change. We will return here, thats for sure😊

We went to JcPenny’s during their Labor Day sale in Redding to get a mattress set. We told the sales person Debra that my daughter was upgrading from a full to a queen and would need a mattress and box spring. Once we settled on a set we asked for a quote. She told us around $800.00. We proceeded with the sale because it was in my daughters budget to pay around $900.00. The mattress was delivered but not the box spring. My daughter called the store about the box spring and they told her it was shipping separately. She got her first credit card statement and the items listed that were charged did not include a box spring. She called the customer service line and was told she didn’t order a box spring and was then disconnected. We went down to the store and saw Debra and told her the problem. She said she didn’t remember the conversation regarding the sale and there was nothing she could do but sale us a box spring. We then called the number she provided. And was told if we want to return it we will be charged a 20% restocking fee and another fee of $80.00 ( I couldn’t here what the fee was for). They had no desire to help us in anyway. DO NOT EVER BY FURNITURE OR MATTRESS FROM JCPENNY, and if Debra is your sales person, makes sure she really understands what you want and orders it correctly. There is no going back once it is ordered.

Very easy in-store pick-up when you order online. however, I continue to be saddened to see all the retailers with their displays for pride month. 😥

I went in to exchange a few shirts, I did not have my receipt. I just wanted a different size. Valerie, was helping me. She went above and beyond, to help me. It was totally my fault for not having my receipt, she was patient and very helpful.

Jcp is always amazing,they have it all. Fashion is on point and pricing is comparable.

JcPenneys is a horrible department store. There clothes are cheaply made, out of Date and their customer service on the phone is poor at best.

It was so hot inside was not able to shop for school clothes for my boys. Not sure if they did it to save money, but it was way to hot inside.

Went to Hair Salon for 8 Oct 2020, SO HAPPY! I had Britanya and she is an absolute genius! I had a bad cut/color and she took time to listen, helped me with colors and I have my hair back! She did an amazing job! Base color is a beautiful warm brown color with some serious popping red highlights, cut is perfect! Her personality is upbeat, warm and comfortable. I cannot say enough about her! The salon was welcoming, with a great staff. I will be coming back, as I found a True Stylist and hair guru! Highly recommend!!!

Im honestly surprised this chain is still in business. Thier prices are astronomical compared to shopping for the same items in other stores. The displays were a mess.

One of my favorite stores. Good quality and great value if you time the sales and cardmember discounts right. My last bill of 223.00 was 119.00 after all my promos!

The manager, Brittania, is the best Stylist this Side of Paris!!!!!The woman can create miracle hair, not joking.I will always go to her. She is honest, thoughtful, compassionate, she listens to what you have to say and what you think you would like to do with your hair. I would not go to another stylist shes the best.

I would have gave it 1 star after the service I received online. I bought an engagement ring and in store, but it had to be ordered online. I was promised a date and made plans with some extra room for the unexpected. Well it happened. After getting no where with customer service on line, I went to the store. Long story short, Josh and the whole staff in Jewelery went above and beyond to get the matter solved. I dont know how much longer JCPennys will be in business, but its staff like that, that has kept them above water. Great Job guys.

Not many sizes and colors of things, mainly tshirts. I was happy to see dressing rooms open but it is still better to shop online. Way more selection.

Yes I used to go here regularly but since the on going Pandemic I of course choose wisely now but just like the rest of other stores in the area there seems to be a lack of items being offered many areas in the store have scarce shelving n selection so far when I enter the store I feel that the rumors are coming true that they are ready to fold up n not to do any ordering to stock up on their merchandise

I have to agree with Leon. I have been in there three times to look into buying a mattress set. I waited too long for someone who was supposed to be coming from helping someone in another dept. Another day two different associates passed through the mattress dept without any recognition of my presence at all. I finally got Triston’s attention and ask a few questions, he got a bit ants after a few minutes, but helpful, until I came back. I returned to look at the adjustable bases and saw Triston who also saw me looking at the base. Well, him and the other two associates he was with, no break items noticed, just ignored me as the talked and walked by. Love JC Penney’s selection, but the service in Redding is just horrible.

There was a problem with checking out. But it was all worked out. So its all good. Thank you JCPennys. We Loved it.

Google reviews must have an agreement to delete poor reviews for a fee....I have been waiting 15 or more minutes to return items. I have seen literally 6 employees talking to each other and not helping customers. I tried to return at the front entrance but was told returns are consolidated.

This store used to be one of the best to shop at in Redding CA. it has done nothing but gone downhill no employees want to help customers no managers want to help customers has gotten out of hand and its ridiculous. if JCPenneys corporation wants to contact me for information theyre more than welcome to. The only reason I am changing my rating is because of Pam the Supervisor, she is an amazing caring person.

We were able to find everything we picked out online very quickly, and our cashier was super awesome with such a large order.

JCPenny is always a great place to shop

Its a Sunday around 5pm. Im in the store attempting to purchase a few hundred dollars worth of merchandise.why only attempting? Because there are no cashiers! Myself and at least 4 other parties of people are walking around the store from register to register with no members of the staff anyplace to be found! When one of us located a employee we get her to open a register... Now the line is 12+ people long ..the poor girl is paging for help but no one comes. The machine runs out of tape and no one on the floor can fix it. No management is present and she has to try to make it work while the line is backing up down the center of the store. It took 38 minutes to check out! Its no wonder department stores like this are going out of business as such alarming rates. If your not the cheapest your customer service better make it worth it and in this case it was a miserable fail.

I had a good/sad experience tonight. My Mom got an item a couple years ago from JC Penney, but she passed away. She never wore it, but they were able to look it up and give me store credit for the latest sale price. It was nice of them to do this for an item that was bought awhile back but since it was never worn and considering the circumstances they were very understanding.

Decent clothing but crazy prices for current situation. Friendly staff.

I drive 40 miles from Red Bluff because this is the only store I can get clothes for me of great quality.I can also purchase high quality everything else, bed and bath, kitchen appliances, shoes. I am tired of my favorite stores closing and Malls because everyone is becoming to lazy to go shopping.If you only buy stuff online it is going to destroy our country. Kind of wonder how this place hasnt closed yet. The selection isnt great and unless you find items on sale they are overpriced. They wonder why nobody shops there and why they are close to being fully bankrupt. The cashiers offer a JCPenney credit card and dont want to take no for an answer, I shouldnt have to tell you 10 times that I dont want your 27%+ APR credit card, I shop here once a year or less. There are only employees at the registers, none anywhere to help, they dont even staff the dressing rooms anymore which means Im sure people are walking out with tons of merchandise every day.

The clerks at JC Penneys are always really helpful and friendly. If you look lost one of the clerks will ask if they can help you find what you are looking for. I appreciate that kind of service as they dont stay around and pressure you to make a purchase.

The dressing rooms were filthy. But you can still get some good deals. Bought a nice pair of sandals for only 15 bucks by Liz Claiborne

I love this salon! The girls are terrific and know their stuff, and are fun to be around!

Its located in the Mt Shasta mall. There are good deals sorting certain times of the year. Not overpriced but not cheap. Its convenient and theres plenty of parking and there is access to the rest of the mall and its stores.

Love Shopping here I usually by my clothes here because Im a plus size and my purses too. Ive gotten my hair done in their salons I just Love JC Pennys

I like the old J C Penny much better. The new blood in upper management made too many changes too quickly. Mr Penny is twisting as to the stores new direction. Sad to say I now rarely go there any more.

I went to Kohls in Redding, CA and didnt find what I wanted. Went to the mall after. Macys, Old Navy, and Tillys didnt have what I wanted. I remembered JC Penny right before leaving. They had exactly what I was looking for. Im literally wearing the joggers I got, right now! Not the first time they came through.

A very unsatisfying experience. I bought two tee shirts. The sign said, 40% off. The fine print said, when you buy $40 or more, which I did not see. My purchase was only $34. It didnt qualify. If I ever shop there again (which I doubt) I will bring a magnifying glass. I left the store and the shirts.

The sales persons which assisted me were very helpful and helped me get the highest discount possible and the special 12 month/no finance charge on my purchase. They also called headquarters for me on a question I had about paying on the bill.👍

I like shopping at JCPenney and usually the service is fine. However, today the young man did not pay attention and just assumed he knew everything and it cost me $10. (Too complicated and boring to explain) So not too happy today.
