One of the best German restaurants in Bay area, GHS offers quite good selection of beers and Bavarian foods. What is great to me is that Gurkensalat, Sauerkraut are amazingly awesome! It has so refreshing, crunch taste to it. Dill is so fragrant!! Sausage is good but not made from scratch, it seems to me like factory-made ones. Overall it was good German experience!

Second time being there I love the place because its so close to my job so after a long days of work perfect place to cool down have a beer one of the curry sausages with habanero sauce and a side of fries with crunchy straight onions I really liked it very tasty I forgot which beer I got 24 and 18 were very taste the server was very inattentive with me maybe because Im not a regular but she was extremely talkative with all the other customers except me yes I was having a bad day and maybe I look a little sad on my face but would never ask if Im okay do you need anything else just waiting for my class to be empty other than that I really like the place super nice and they sell beer too only downside is you cant park in the back parking lot even though I have twice but there is a big sign that says no public parking will get towed so thats kind of lame good atmosphere good people

Love the biergarten. Plenty of choices. I really liked the Kolsch philsner. Also love the German style biergarten sitting. Long tables that everyone shares.The food is pretty darn good. The wife is in lust over the pretzel with cheese and salami. The schnitzel is a safe choice as is any of the brauts.Before COVID-19, the place was usually very crowded week nights and Saturdays. Right now, not so much.

This place rocks! We are craft beer lovers and they always have something for us. Whats cool is that if we dont want a full pint, we can get six ounce or 11 Oz. The beer tenders are very cool and knowledgeable about beers (very important). See you next time and next time and next time :)

This is my favorite place to grab a beer on the peninsula. GHS pours classic German beers by the liter and top US craft beers in all styles. Theres a beer here for everyone. Their German food is top notch as well. Try their Schnitzel or Curry Basket. So good!

Really enjoyed my leisurely visit on a Sunday afternoon. A huge selection is not only local craft beers but also German beers. The curry wurst set was perfect but we also ordered a side of their delicious warm sauerkraut and baked Camembert cheese and toasted rye bread. Will be back for SF Beer Week! Chris is awesome. 🍻🇩🇪

We came for a Saturday lunch and couldnt have had a better service experience.This is the perfect beer Haus complete with German beers, food, and long beer garden tables. Both indoor and outdoor seating and perfectly decorated. Lots of German beers to choose from.We got the jumbo pretzel with Camembert as well as the chicken schnitzel special of the day. The jumbo pretzel was perfect and if you are a fan of Camembert you must get the spread- a yummy side of cheese, onion, and paprika that goes so well with the pretzel! The chicken schnitzel was perfectly cooked. Very large portion that came with some sides. Everything is fairly priced.There is also a small store part of the restaurant where you can buy German goods like sausages, dessert items, mustards, and more!We will definitely come back to try more of the menu!

A store in the front with mostly European brands and a 🍻 lively beer garden in the back. Great staff and crew! Been going here since a kid. Very rude staff…. We used to come here often but each and every time we were there the staff attitude was cold and rude. This was my last time coming here and never again. They have good food and beers but the attitude the servers have is outrageous

This place is a gem! Ordered the schnitzel and a warm pretzel along with one of the German drinks, I cannot remember the name of at the moment, and was very satisfied! The food was spot on! Ive eaten at many German restaurants, and this is easily at the top. The grocery store has some of the best selection of german and European goods I have found in the bay area, and the staff were delightful! I would 100% recommend you try this place for their food, hospitality, and market! Amazing experience and cant wait to return!

Such a great place, their famous white beer is amazing make sure you try it. We had spaetzle and the sausage plate with bockwurst, so good!! On the way out, at the German food store, you can pick up a growler of your favorite beer, some marzipan, and some very tasty riesling.

My friends and I originally discovered this place when we achieved drinking age because we wanted something out of the ordinary with character, and boy did we find it at Gourmet Haus Straudt. Were now on hugging, first-name bases with the employees and have been patrons for years. The beer is authentic and the food is delectable. Dont steal a boot.

This place has a cute outdoor beer garden as well as indoor seating when available...The beer selection is heavy slanted towards German variety and is pretty extensive/impressive... and for those not really into that they have great amount of other beer styles, and if lucky a rare hidden (beer) gem from Modern Times, Mikkeller, or the like.I also have to comment on their goulash... a couple and I met there on an unexpectedly rainy day and ordered that... OMG, it was amazing... perfect amount of meat and veggies... and oh, did it hit the spot that day. We also ordered a Pretzel to snack on and that was really good as well... but the goulash... oh my...Amazing place that I wish was closer to home... Highly recommended restaurant with a laid back vibe and amazing beer selection that rivals a German beer hall.

Great German bierstube with a great selection of traditional German beers and a rotating selecting of local microbrews. Wonderful German dishes and friendly, helpful service. They also have a very well stocked shop with a variety of different German delicacies and of course German beer. Gemütlichkeit!

Nice German bar located behind the German grocers, can be accessed through the grocers or you can walk around to the back and enter that way. They offer a nice selection of German and American beers, there is a decent outdoor seating area, and a fine selection of food. We had the chicken wings and the steak and eggs, fantastic.
