Make sure to check expiration/best buy dates. Many items are either expired or fast approaching the best by dates on packages way before you will finish using it. Seems they get old stuff at discounted rate. The other two competitor stores in Reno are far superior.

One of my favorite cuisines is Indian food. Therefore, if you make Indian food at home and are looking for an ingredient or spice that most grocery stores wont carry you need to come here.Not only does this store have a large variety of items they also have a bakery. I found the employees to be kind, informative, and professional. They were extremely helpful. We discussed homemade curry spice in great length. In fact, I purchased several ingredients to create my own homemade curry spice combination.This store has exotic spices, fresh produce, staple items from India as well as snacks, treats, sodas, and candies. What an easy and great way to try food from another country.

Great little find for some Indian Ingredients and snacks when you can find them BUUUT... there are ZERO price tags on the shelves. Your a business, general rule, you would price your items.

I visited the Turmeric in Reno for the first time on 04/28/18. The store was having a free food event and the food provided during the tasting was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful with finding ideas for quick and easy Indian food items. I enjoy Indian food but don’t always have time to make it homemade. They also have a great selection of spices and other items which I will check the next time I am in Reno. The Turmeric is worth the drive to find what you are looking for to prepare authentic Indian cuisine.

This is a great grocery store for finding a variety of Indian staples. Theres a wide selection of spices (organic too), curries, snacks, mixes, lentils, teas, etc. They also have a frequent supply of fresh produce, a lot of which cannot easily be found anywhere else. The customer service is also wonderful. The staff are helpful, friendly and are happy to give expert advice regarding brand selection. They also have a section/area for specialty items like clothing and accessories and frequently hold special events. Tumeric truly is a wonderful place.

A very good store in Reno for Indian spices and groceries.. Prices are THE best in town.. However would have been awesome, if more variety of fresh Indian vegetables and fresh meat were also made available regularly... Then it would be like everything under one roof grocery store...

Indian Grocery with a variety of products. We purchased a couple of items for $5.00 on November 7, 2019 and the cashier had difficulty with the register machine. She wanted to run the transaction a second time and I asked Are you sure it did not already charge us?. She said it did not appear to. Sure enough, we see a duplicate charge on the credit card. We print this out and take it to the store to show them. The person at the store refused to credit back our duplicate charge.This is unacceptable.

I needed ingredients for chicken tikka masala. Not only did I get all my ingredients at a great price but the store clerk even shared a recipe and tips for success for a terrible cook (me). I really enjoyed my visit and the variety of products.

I hate spice rack because everything costs twice or even more compared to Indian stores in Sacramento. I was excited to see a new store opening in Reno, so that competition will drive down the prices, but prices at Turmuric is even more compared to Spice Rack. We know you have to go to Sacramento or further than that every week to get fresh vegetables and meat and you have to pay rent and still make profit, but selling everything at double prices is not a feasible business model.

I can undoubtedly say the best Indian store in Reno. Staff is so friendly that I can request new items and give my point of view. I really hope they will be more successful and get larger.

Turmeric Grocery is a local business and maintains a great stock of spices and Indian vegetables that are not available in grocery chain stores, prices are reasonable as well. I am pleased with the convenience of shopping local and supported with a customer friendly staff.

Good variety of Indian food and grocery. The best thing about this store that separates it out from rest is that they sell live Indian snacks like pani puri, chicken kathi roll, and more on weekends. Their masala chai is too good. I highly recommend them.

Their bakey is awesome too...lots to choose from -- puffs, pani poori, bhel poori and oh their pastries are the best! Love this store. In addition to restaurant-quantities of parboiled rice (yay!) and premixes (cake mix-style) options, Tumeric boasts a very large fridge/freezer option with produce, frozen vegetables, paneer (yuss!), and frozen/pre-made/heat-and-eat foods. I am beyond thrilled to have Tumeric as an alternative grocery store in South Reno.
