I was really glad that we chose this Italian restaurant when visiting Reno. It had the pasta that was rated the best pasta in the states, and I agreed that they were up to the bar for holding the title. From the bread to the dessert, we really enjoyed everything, and Tony’s service was spectacular. They had some entries that could be off the menu, so you might want to ask them about it.
Had a great meal and experience at La Strada. Started with house salad and caprese salad, then on to lasagna and the famous mushroom ravioli, all enhanced by the smooth Ruffino Chianti. Service was excellent, the food was great, and an enjoyable evening was the result. Well worth a visit when in Reno!
In love with this place, the food is amazingMy husband and I went for dinner, our waiter was extremely informative being our first time there. I went with the baked ziti and it was so delicious as well as the mushroom ravioli. We had salad and calamari for appetizers and nothing was disappointing. Highly recommended
As good as advertised. Started with a crisp lettuce ceasar salad that just lacked anchovies zing. Salad had the right amount of dressing to not leave any on the plate. Shaved Parmesan cheese was outstanding. Went for their signature dish of mushroom ravioli. They were the best with tender fresh pasta. Tasty sauce with fresh parmesan grated from Alex. And an accompanying great glass of Ferrari Carano sauvignon blanc or was it Fume Blanc. Excellent service.
I was planning my proposal to the love of my life and hector and Antonio made it the more special than I ever could have imagined! She said YES! The food was top notch! We ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with the grilled chicken and it was superb! The staff was so friendly and our compliments to the whole team of chefs cooking our meals! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We are happy to be able to have such an amazingly place to have our proposal story! 10/10 would recommend to ANYONE!
We had the house special for an appetizer and wished I had gotten it for my meal - the mushroom ravioli. The sauce is like silk. It is superb. I did have the scallops and risotto. Not an amazing presentation but the scallops were delicate, melt-in-your-mouth in texture...just perfectly cooked. We had a large table and everyone loved their choice. Definitely will go back when Im in Reno and order the mushroom ravioli.
Came here for the first time for a birthday, which was noted in our reservation. Have been coming to the row for over 15 years and have never tried here so we chose to go here instead of the Ichibqn Japanese Steakhouse. We arrived at 8:25,had reservation at 8:30, were told there were 3 reservations made at this time and they have to seat the other 2 first.. So we waited and got sat. Service was incredibly slow, they ran out of breadsticks, people sat after us served before us their food due to their server being on top of it, the menu on google said my Salmon was $26-actually being $34 for the smallest peice of Salmon I have ever gotten!!!! I included a pic after I took q tiny bite our of the end but it had to be a 2-3oz piece! The Risotto was good, but our shrimp Appetizer gave both of us food poisoning! Almost directly after the meal! We know it had to have been the shrimp since we both ate that. We werent drinking etc... it was good poisoning. I told the server we needed to leave to get a another event, he needed to get the birthday desert which took so long we missed the other event as well as I just went up to the front to pay because wasnt waiting any longer.... our bill was $140 for service that was slow, the birthday noted in the reservation was completely disregarded and the food ended up making us sick... not going here again sadly had high hopes for here from the reviews and nope another dooper :(
Most romantic dinner we had all vacation, without a doubt! Just love everything! The food, the atmosphere! Something straight up out of a romantic novel your Ma reads while shes out on the beach, could not have asked for a better place to eat! Food was WHOA! The Mushroom Ravioli - Ive never had anything like it!!! Best Ravioli Ive ever tasted!!!
Overall it was good. But I had a pizza and the crust was burnt and served luke warm. The mushroom ravioli was excellent. The canned music is to loud. Service was ok.
Service was fantastic. Super friendly staff. Waters always refilled. The bread is delicious. I really wanted to love my filet mignon, but honestly for the price, the portion was tiny and I think I could of made it better myself. But my company all ordered other things and they all loved their food. Drink was great and they werent shy with alcohol.
The food isnt amazing. Its good, but not the best Italian food Ive had. Very pricey. Family of 4 cost us almost $300 with a tip. I would recommend the spaghetti and meatballs or the mushroom ravioli. The fish dishes were overcooked and dry. I would not recommend the artichoke appetizer, its deep fried and tasteless. Service was good, but a little overbearing. To the point where we wanted to tell the waiter to please just let us eat our meal. It was the only restaurant in the casino that wasnt booked for the night, not sure that Id make a special trip to eat here.
The waiter had a quirky sense of humor and took very good care of us both with entertainment and attentiveness to our dining needs. Food came out perfectly timed between courses and we were not rushed in any manner. La Strada really is a first class dining experience and you should plan on enjoying your time while there. We will back!
Best fine dining Ive tried in Reno. Antonio was an excellent waiter, suggested great wines to go with the meal
The food, service, and ambiance was classy and thoughtful. Some of our favorites included the fried artichokes and ravioli with porcini cream sauce. The staff want your experience to be great. We first selected a wine that we ended up not enjoying. The staff happily let us select a different bottle while taking the other bottle off our ticket.Couldnt have been more pleased!
The food is amazing and the service even better. Restaurants manager Mike is the best!!!
My favorite restaurant in Reno. Fabulous Italian food with a creative menu that also offers traditional favorites. The grilled octopus with savory Italian aioli was an alluring appetizer. I enjoyed the mushroom ravioli in a porcini sauce. I dream about it. I shall return. By the way, prices are reasonable for the quality of the cuisine, in my opinion.
The food was excellent but our Waitress Cassandra made the experience memorable. We celebrated our 21st Wedding Anniversary and Cassandra was outstanding. Thank you for great food, service and hospitality. We will come back and hope Cassandra will still be here
By far the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life. Payed over $400 to get horrible service with a rude waiter who didn’t care about us or give us ANY attention what so ever. Only cared about telling us about Pennsylvania. After waiting over 2 hours for our food we finally decided to pay and leave to which the waiter rolled his eyes, sighed and stormed away from us. Have been going to La Strada for years and never experienced service this horrible. If you want quality service go ANYWHERE else.
So when we booked our reservation we based it on the amazing lamb chops they had, which was also the special for the night.. after an hour of being open they did not have anymore lamb... We ordered a Beverage that did not taste appealing. We got the veal which has burnt vegetables served with it. Our waitress was really sweet and she tried to make it right by giving us the mushroom ravioli, but everything tasted sour. We saw a mouse and when we talked to the manager he already knew about it and he informed us that they had a mouse problem due to being closed for a long period of times due to covid, which I get. Just be aware, hopefully things will be fixed soon.
Everything we had was very good. The chefs will work with allergies. Raviolis were off the chain
Easily one of the best restaurants in Reno and definitely lives up to the local hype. Shoutout to Chris, who was a fantastic server and is highly knowledgeable and helpful when it came to picking the perfect dish.
Professional Customer Services, Delicious foods. The Alfredo is #1 to me. I also love Salmon, very fresh and tender. We will definitely come back when we visit Reno again.
Great food, amazing service. Our server Keith did a great job, really helpful and attentive. Made my wife and I laugh and feel comfortable during our visit. Thanks Keith!
Excellent food and service. The atmosphere was beautiful and comfortable. Our party of seven were put at separated, but hosted in a private room which allowed us to enjoy one anothers company. Our waiter was very accommodating and attentive. Best service Ive experienced in Reno.
I ordered a meat and cheese platter, baked ziti, and two gelato. I received small portions for the entree, and was not full. I am a small person so it’s easy for me to be full, and I was not. The $9 gelato (I ordered two) did not satisfy. It was a very small portion, 2 small scoops. The scoops were rolled around circles and not even full scoops. For $9, I was very disappointed. Overall, this was a big disappointment.
The waiter was very nice. They sat us at a small table that was pretty close to the kitchen. This made for a very hot dinner. By the time we left out of there I was sweating. Not great since I got dressed up to eat here. I suppose I dont know much about fine Italian food. The soup of the day while flavorful was about a half cups worth. My daughter got the spaghetti and meat balls. Sauce tasted like some generic sauce out of a can. Wife got a lobster spaghetti. The sauce once again tasted cheap. The noodles were only half cooked. Meaning some of the were hard. The lobster tail was cut down the middle and so over done you couldnt get the meat out. I luckily had the filet with prawns. This dish had no pasta or spaghetti sauce. The steak was over cooked and the mushrooms burnt but the flavor wasnt that bad. $200 when it was all over and I couldnt get outta there fast enough to get to some cooler cigarette smoke filled casino air.
I love the food here. Service was also good.
We loved the good amd yhe staff was great! Will return when we are in Reno agsin
I made a reservation only 2 hours ahead and when my husband and I arrived, they asked for the name and said yes table is ready. As soon as we walked in they sat us and gave us the menus. They gave enough time to order drinks and even enough time to order an appetizer before our entrees. The bread baskets are delicious and server was very attentive and kind. Food was just amazing! Dessert was also great. Nothing bad to say at all. My husband and I were there for our Christmas date night. We left so happy and full. ☺️
Amazing as always. Even the drink server knows the specials of the day. Great portions of food for the price. The staff have a great attitude.
This place is awesome. I discovered it when I had an early flight to see my BFF in Arizona. So I booked my favorite room in Reno. The large Players Suite at the Eldorado. So I decided this was the place for dinner. I love the old style dinner house vibe. Dark and sultry with the best food ever and a wine list to brag about! The service makes the experience even better. I have now gone many times. Everytime I go celebrate another year my BFF is cancer free. This year she is coming to see me. So We are going to stay at the Eldorado and she will get to experience my raves about La strada! This time we will be celebrating my birthday. I cant tell you how special this place is to me. I cant wait for July 18th to get here!!❤❤
The food is fantastic, the employees are the best, super sweet and attentive! We look forward going to dinner at La Strada everytime we go to Reno! Thank you La Strada for being one of our favorite places to eat at, you all are the amazing!
The food was good, however our service was terrible. We never received one of the apps we ordered and the server didn’t come to our table until our food was served. After we received our food, we had to flag down someone else to bring us our check after we had gotten fed up with waiting on our inattentive server.
Tried to dine in on a Tuesday night and couldn’t find anyone at the host stand. One member of our party went to find someone and was told that it would be almost an hour wait for our table of 3 — hostess then sat a walk-up twosome right after we said we’d wait.Restaurant looked almost completely empty.
Food was great, our service was awesome (thanks Darren). Highly recommend and would go back.
Friendly staff and food was delicious. Ill be back
Only ate the Cannoli taste average because I didnt taste any Candied Orange Zest as stated in the description.
Best Italian food in reno! Has an ama, amazing, atmosphere, and not to bad on prices. A must go for anyone in reno. :)
This restaurant is inside the El Dorado and says they close at 10p.m. They sat a three top standing in front of us at 9:45 but told us they were closed. That’s ridiculous.
Went on NYE and had the set menu. We had a great experience. Our waiter, Colton, was top notch, possibly the best I’ve ever had. He was knowledgeable about all of the food and wine on the menu, friendly, and just the right amount of attentive. The food was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and our meal very reasonably priced.
Staff was very nice. will greet you very friendly and respectfully. food can be a hit or miss but their mushroom ravioli is to die for
Service was awesome, this review is purely about the food! Very not good. Three of us got the tasting menu which was pretty bad Americanized Italian food. Undercooked risotto that just tasted like heavy cream, very tough beef wellington (why is this on an Italian restaurant tasting menu??), the mushroom ravioli was the best item but still not great, very sweet dessert, wilty salad. For what we payed, it was bad. Garlic bread was good, portions were large if thats what youre concerned about. We just thought this was going to be legitimate Italian food -- and it was not good even for American-Italian. Feel bad for leaving the bad review but wish we had known before spending the money.
La Strada was excellent. The food delicious (you must try the osso bucco). And the service was fantastic.
Really wonderful place to eat! Strongly recommend reserving a table, because it fills up quickly! The atmosphere is beautiful, with art nearly everywhere you turn. When they bring you into the restaurant, it’s like walking down an old Italian country street, which definitely fits with “la strata” (the street). The food was incredible! I ordered the veal Parmesan, which was amazing. Definitely worth the price! Cannot recommend this place enough!
Outstanding food AND service!
My girlfriend and I ate here for our anniversary. And from the very beginning everyone was super friendly and they had rose petals on the table for us, which was a great touch. Our server Melissa was more than phenomenal. Not only was she super attentive but she was super charismatic and made our experience there that much more eventful. She was funny and friendly and helped us with our wine selection that paired gray with our meals. If your are looking for a special night this is the perfect place. They also played great music to add to the ambiance and experience.
The best Italian food Ive ever had. The mushroom raviolis are amazing! Service was excellent.
Always friendly and consistent.
Our new Christmas tradition. Last year, being new to the area with no family or friends, my wife and i ventured out for a quiet Christmas dinner. We happened into the El Dorado and La Strada. The food was amazing. So this year, we returned and was not disappointed. Wife had the signature Mushroom Ravioli and i the lasagna. From the bread, to the salad, then the meal, we were in heaven. Tony, the waiter and Jesse were exceptionally attentive and friendly. We were so very pleased with the dinner and for the quality, the price was very reasonable. We have paid dearly for meals that didnt come close to matching our experience at La Strada. Thank you. We will be back, sooner.
Amazing food the chefs special really showed off all his culinary skills and absolutely perfect execution the atmosphere was exquisite and they were very accommodating of my childrens requests overall outstanding experience and by far best chefs in reno
Great Italian food as always. Shout out to Chris, our awesome waiter too, who always has excellent wine suggestions for my wife!
Great evening great food great service
Great food
We love eating at La Strada, unfortunately due to covid-19, the menu there has been limited. A lot of our favorites likes the lamb, the duck, the scallops, and the steaks are now gone. However, they did have a nice filet mignon special with risotto. It was delicious, and they staff is still excellent. Even the tiramisu was on point. Still worth making the reservation and going. Hours limited now Friday thru Monday 5-9.
Amazing authentic Italian cuisine!Amazing service and atmosphere 👏 👍👍👍
Wonderful food and service
Very good food at reasonable prices for a place like this. The 5 stars is for service and the quality of food relative to other places here in Reno. Their OpenTable link was apparently down because they came up as having no availability, but when we went there we found plenty of tables open and they were happy to seat us right away. Hailey was a superb waiter. You have a gem there.
We had our wedding reception here on Saturday! They truly made our reception more than I imagined it would be! The staff and manger were wonderful and made sure our party was well taken care of. The food was amazing! Thank you for making our reception a wonderful experience! Nothing but love for La Strada here
The hostess was friendly and we were seated promptly. Our server was knowledgeable and professional. The food was outstanding! The evening would have been perfect if it had not been for our experience in the bar for an after dinner drink. We were the only ones there. After ordering our drinks, another person appeared who told us we had to leave because of a private party. We said we had just eaten dinner there but she repeated that we had to leave in a rude manner. We feel they could have handled this in a better way. When we were seated for dinner, we were never told anything about a private party, our money was gladly taken for dinner, and then we get booted out the door.
This is the first time I’ve ever posted a restaurant review online. Me and a friend visited Reno this weekend and ate dinner at La Strada. We ordered and shared the following: caprese salad, ravioli with meat sauce, veal Marsala, and tiramisu for dessert.I was really looking forward to dinner at this restaurant because of all the nice reviews. Well, our dining experience was a very disappointing experience. The caprese salad tasted very bland and the mozzarella did not taste fresh. The ravioli with meat sauce tasted like the raviolis had been frozen for some time and then put into boiling water. The meat sauce was lacking in flavor. It tasted like it came out of a can. No seasoning or salt to enhance the flavor. Then we ate the veal Marsala. That was such a disappointment because you could not taste the Marsala wine or mushrooms in the sauce. It lacked flavor...maybe some salt. Again, tasted like it was out of a jar. When we left we felt so disappointed and decided if we ever come back to Reno, we won’t go back to that place. Service was very slow as well.
Great atmosphere great Italian food one of my favorite places in Reno since I live there I should know..😋😋😋😋
I always love coming to La Strada! The restaurant is tucked away from the casino area so you are secluded from all the hustle and bustle of a casino. we love this. As for what to eat, we ALWAYS get the Trust us tasting menu, And we have never been let down! Ooh man is it wonderful. Its a great sample of some of their top dishes, a what a great way to try something you wouldnt normally get! The staff are extremely friendly, and provide a personalized experience that makes it seem like they have been waiting to serve you all day. Awesome for date nights, or a night on the town with friend and family!
The entire staff is soo professional! The host treated us so well we felt welcomed. Our server was wonderful. The chefs are so skilled. This was my first time going there and I am absolutely floored! It was such a beautiful experience to share with my family. The order in which they served all of our food and drinks was phenomenal. We never had a cup dry, not even for a minute! It was nice to see the whole team work so well together. It was just so harmonious. The food was delicious and the creme brulee that I had was superb. We will definitely be going back again. Thank you Antonio! Im absolutely AMAZED by your attentiveness to our table!
Upon arrival to the restaurant we were greeted by a very friendly hostess and were promptly seated. Our reservations were for 7:15 and with as busy as La Strada was I would always recommend reservations. The waiter had a quirky sense of humor and took very good care of us both with entertainment and attentiveness to our dining needs. Food came out perfectly timed between courses and we were not rushed in any manner.La Strada really is a first class dining experience and you should plan on enjoying your time while there. We will back!PS. I personally enjoyed the Pappardelle Bolognese, it was made in house and was a big hit with my taste buds.
Refused service even for the bar without a reservation
Weve been here before and had a great time! However, we went on a Saturday night and they didnt have any availability for a table because a HUGE party had taken up the whole restaurant! On a Saturday night? They said we could sit at the bar and order food (from the same kitchen), but it was a limited menu..... I couldnt order what I really wanted even though it was coming from the same kitchen.... WTF?
Service and atmosphere was great! Unfortunately, like most casino restaurants, the food was terrible. Short rib was very bland, and the risotto was extremely dry. Everything tasted like they used the same store-bought beef broth or something. This is regarding the short rib with risotto, and the mushroom risotto.
Chicharrone Tacos, I never thought much of them, until a friend introduced me these here. Every single visit since, this is what I get. Perfect crispy every time. Dear lord these things are addictive. Also, seems like chips are house made. I could be wrong, but I dont care. Sometimes they are salted to perfection, other times not.
Awesome food and really great service! Keith was one of the best waiters that weve had in a long, long time! The Veal Marsala was amazing!! We will be back!
Visiting Reno from California and Enjoyed dinner last night at La Strada Restaurant with hubby for our anniversary, first time visiting the restaurant, loved, loved, loved! We had excellent service and great food, so delicious; the restaurant and staff made the place so romantic, we even had rose petals on our table...we were sang Happy Anniversary in Italian! Would love to make it a tradition and visit next year again! 🥰
The service was very good and the restaurant is beautiful. I was, however, disappointed with the food. I ordered the salmon which was cooked in paper. Its brought to the table still in the paper and the fish is sitting in water. The fish was very tender but fairly tasteless and is accompanied with a very little bit of tomato, olives, and broccoli. All very diluted in water. I ate the fish and left the rest. The basket of bread was very good. I did not complain because I hate to do that. I would suggest that the waiters inform people that the entire dish is served in water. Had I known, I would have ordered something else. Anything else.I ate at 5 pm. It is 8:50 and Im starving. $43 later and Ill be going to bed hungry. I never write reviews but this experience was a disappointment.
That last time I visited I loved the food. Thats why decided to go back. Let me start by saying the food is amazing BUT the service sucks! We had a reservation for 8 pm. Inspite of us letting them know we were waiting, 10 minutes later they forgot about us. After going and reminding, we went in at 8.10. We were served water and then for the next 30 minutes NO server showed up. People who came in after us (a bigger party and were only 2) started getting served. We decided to walk out and NO ONE noticed. When we came out to the reception told her about this, she grabbed her manager Michael. He was extremely courteous and apologetic and offered to buy us dinner. However the experience was completely ruined for us and we decided to walk away.
One of my favorites in Reno. White linen and quality service, excellent menu. Choose the Trust Me w/ parings and you wont leave hungry. If you spend less than an hour here, you are doing it wrong.
Fabulous!
My server Hailey was the best - the right amount of attentive and friendly that you want in a server. I had the mushroom ravioli and it was delicious. 10/10 would dine here again!
Theres not really enough I can say about La Strada. The food is amazing and its a high class dining experience for a good price. They have many options for pastas, salads, soups and appetizers if youre not too hungry, but they also have options for 5 course meals and great steaks, authentic polenta and so much more. The wine pairing option is awesome too.The staff here adds an extra kick to the already great atmosphere. Impressed with La Strada for sure. Highly recommend it.
I got the chef sampler. Keith the server fed me! Outstanding service. I felt like royalty. Great food too. The mushroom raviolis were to die for!
The ravioli was not nearly as good as I remember, but I’m not sure what was different about it.They also no longer have early bird specials, which was quite a bummer.
Excellent food! Elegant, romantic atmosphere! Really enjoyed our dinner. The tables are a bit close together, which either makes it cozy or crowded, depending on your perspective. But, overall, a very nice place for yummy Italian food.
This place is amazing! Starting with the hostess she was super nice & funny. She dropped us off at our table as we were laughing with her the whole time. Soon after we were given water & delicious, and I mean delicious garlic bread. Colton was our server, and he was really great! He knew the menu, gave wonderful recommendations. It was a friday night and the restaurant was busy and we never felt that we were left unattended.
We had dinner after the show tonight and it was great! Food was fast and well prepared. The servers were especially helpful and fast. My drink was never left unattended and I definitely wasnt left wanting. Truly a great evening. I would like to thank Colten and Hannah, our servers and Mike Vertoucci the manager for showing us that people still know how to serve a classy meal and take care of patrons. We will definitely come back.
JUST GO THERE. Exceptional service with food to die for. Hands down the most amazing Italian food and restaurant I have ever been to!!! I would give more than 5 stars if possible.
The service and food were excellent! Atmosphere doesnt seem like its part of a casino. Please order desert and please order the Tara Misu. It is ti die for.
Not impressed at all! Thought this would be a great experience for my Mom, daughter and I. The bread was the worst they said they had run out of the good bread to bring more. The Lasagna at Olive Garden is better... and that says a lot. Not eating here again!
Best service i ever had, my server tony was amazing
This place is amazing! Starting with the hostess she was super nice & funny. She dropped us off at our table as we were laughing with her the whole time. Soon after we were given water & delicious, and I mean delicious garlic bread. Colton was our server, and he was really great! He knew the menu, gave wonderful recommendations. First time eating here. And it is so fantastic! The food was amazing and a Huge shout-out, to Keith and Hanna for doing such a wonderful job taking care of us,for my birthday.
Had dinner with my wife here twice last weekend and must say everything we had was too notch. They have a very good bar an extensive wine list, and the food is to die for. Very good on all accounts and very romanticYou will be very glad you tried it, we were.
Really great food and service. Its away from the casino atmosphere and had a nice ambiance. Would definitely recommend taking advantage of the show with 50% off entree deal.
Normally this would have been a 5star review. We have been to this bar/restaurant many times, and enjoyed our meal and service with a 5 star review. But tonight we decided to sit at the bar and grab some drinks and some awesome mushroom raviolis. The service from.the bartender was lack luster. She was cold in her demeanor. We ordered some drinks and our food. We commented to each other, not the bartender that bread would have been nice. Food came and we finished eating and THAN a basket of garlic toast was placed in front of us with a comment well I tried . we were done eating, still scratching my head over her comment and lack luster attitude.
Cant get any better than this, food, service ambiance ...perfect
Italian food, super delicious. Got there near seven, it wasnt very crowded. Prices were fair for the quality of the food. Reminds me of a place in New York I loved to visit.
