Good in stock selection and if they dont have it in stock, staff will work to order what you need quickly. Absolute Music has always had our back. Loyal customer for years to come.

Great service and impressive selection of instruments! My son had to audition for a music school and we were visiting from out of the area when we discovered he needed to play an additional piece on drums. The store let us use a drum and practice room at the last minute and he pulled it off. Very grateful 🙏 and will stop back for music needs if back this way.

I tried taking my guitar to multiple places in Reno to get a tune up and the first place didn’t have a technician anymore, another place was a 3-4 week wait. Took my guitar to Absolute Music and he tuned it one day! It was amazing! Very friendly staff! Thank you so much

As a parent of 2 string players (Bass and Cello) it was such a relief to be able to use Absolute Musics rental program! My kids were able to trade up sizing their instruments as they grew through middle and high school. And the service is always helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend these guys :)

We started out with a trumpet my daughter then changed to a clarinet. No hassle what so ever to switch instruments. Everything that I had paid in transferred as well. Great customer service. Very knowledgeable staff. Ill continue to use them for the next three children and whatever instrument they may want to play.

My experience as a parent renting stringed instruments here is mixed.Initially, I came here after a bad experience at Carpenters and found them to be friendly and helpful. We rented an essentially new cello that worked out very well. The only downside to this transaction was that I signed up for the automatic withdrawal from my bank. Upon returning the instrument Absolute told me, you have to go to your bank to stop the payments. My bank told me, No, Absolute has to stop the payments. We finally figured out that the stop payment needed to come from Absolute.The second transaction was a rental of a Viola. My daughter is small and they only had one instrument that would work. My daughter didnt want to rent it based on looks but I figured options were limited and went ahead with it. It was in rough condition and the rental price reflected this. I did not buy the extra insurance as she is careful and tends not to be hard on things or break things.This viola essentially broke down over the course of the rental. The fingerboard fell off and there was a separation in the body. There was a break in the bridge that my daughter later told me was there the day we got it. The repairman suspected a hot car and although I cant say it was never in a hot car (it actually was for several hours the day I returned it), I can say that it generally went back and forth to school and was brought in at night. It was never dropped or abused. The staff quoted $90 for repairs and dropped that to $60 after discussion of how this happens and my argument that the age and condition of this rental likely contributed. They were cool about it.Overall, if I had to rent for the kids again, I would come back here. I think they are head and shoulders above Carpenters in customer service and handling what I perceive to be a difficult business likely driven by a desire to get kids playing music.If I were to do it over, I would take a picture at the time of rental of any instrument that was less than perfect. I would consider buying the insurance and ask more questions about who is responsible for what kind of repairs.

Wow. Just wow. We were longing to get our son interested in the world of music, and I believe that our experience at Absolute Music (AM) was by FAR the best decision we could have made. AM was patient with us (if we forgot a payment); provided free repairs; employed enthusiastic and knowledgeable employees. Had we not had such enjoyable interactions, the cello would have been returned immediately, because a child taking up an instrument tends to become a commitment including the parent, as well. Our sons room now holds his cello, an electric guitar, an amp, and a keyboard. Thank you, Absolute Music, for loving music, and helping our son to, as well.

I have often shopped here, as I have 4 musical children. I have rented and bought and serviced instruments at Absolute Music. The staff are wonderful--very helpful. If they dont have what you are looking for, they can most likely order it. I have always been very pleased with the service here and will continue to go back.

Very nice store - although I’m not really in the demographic for the majority of their stuff, the selection of guitar, basses, and other more “rock and roll” sort of stuff is rather quite nice. Staff is also very knowledgeable and always ready to help, unlike some other local stores.

Great business. I like the rental plan. I am surprised that I am close to owning a clarinet for my daughter. The monthly payment was something I could handle each month and time flew by!

So, I make my living with my trumpet and I was pretty distraught to find that I had damaged it and only had a little while to get it repaired. Thankfully I came across Absolute Music. They got my horn in and out of the shop incredibly quick! The lady at the counter got me taken care right away and sent my trumpet back to the shop immediately. The repair tech even stayed late so I could have my horn when I needed it. On top of the rushed repair, it turned out to be the best repair Id ever had! Thanks Absolute Music!!!

Did NOT enjoy this place. I got a viola there and it was amazing. Then, I exchanged it for a size bigger. First of all, the outside of the case was extremely dirty and scratched up. And, there was a crack on the outside of the case. The inside of the case was dirty too. The viola was horribly out of tune. The bow was what REALLY ticked me off. I guess when you return an instrument they don’t even clean it or anything. The bow was extremely dirty, sticky, and absolutely disgusting. Second of all, I didn’t appreciate the fact that there was no room for my shoulder rest. Horrible experience. Returning the bow on Monday 🙄 because apparently they don’t feel like working on a Sunday. 🤷‍♀️. When I’m older, I’m never going there for anything music-wise. Don’t let my experience effect yours. Maybe they’ll actually give you a good viola 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I recently went into absolute music to inquire about strings for my acoustic bass. As I walked in, a few of the lights were not turned on and the displays were dusty. A lot of the product was obviously very old, and has been repackaged. Upon looking at the strings selection... there was none. A few packs of beginner strings. Nothing that caters to the professional musician.I was not greeted as I walked in, the gentleman in the back wouldn’t even get up and greet meet. I felt like a burden walking into the store. I then tried to talk to the string repairman, and it was a bit awkward.When asking about ordering, they had no idea and no sense of urgency in getting the product. They said that only the owner could order product, but he was out on vacation and no one knew when he would be back. What??? I ended up purchasing online.
