Recently attended the fall festival with my son and he had an amazing time. Everything was organized, set up was beautiful, which included bouncy house, face painting etc. Employees were extremely friendly and helpful. Great music. Oh and the doughnuts were GREAT. A must try!! An overall fun and exciting experience, especially since this whole COVID thing. Definitely worth it.
The fall festival has fun stuff for kids but is badly mismanaged. They let too many people (250) in at once - its a very small space with a limited number of activities, and it ends up being pandemonium. The attached picture gives an idea of wall-to-wall people, making it hard to move around and resulting in ridiculously long lines for things like the train.Even worse however is the volume of the music today - absolutely insane when young children are around. Im in my 40s and I would have worn earplugs had I known. In addition to damaging kids ears, it makes it virtually impossible to talk. I thought maybe it was a one-off thing but I see a review from 3 weeks ago - which the staff responded to - saying the same thing. Yet nothing has changed. The people in charge of this thing must be teenagers.
We took the kids here for the pumpkin fest and had a blast! The apple cidar donuts are delicious! Its a great place for family fun that everyone can enjoy. Families with little kids Its a must. Train ride, multiple moon bounces and corn maze to explore.
We attended the fall festival on 10/10/2020. Very fun outdoor event with limited capacity so it wasnt too crowded. Our under 2 year old enjoyed the bouncy house, the slide, feeding the animals and most of all the train ride. 99% of people wore their masks except for 1 woman and she was served some serious side eye. They have additional activities like face painting and caricature drawing for an extra fee. They also sell sweets and drinks. We really liked that they cleaned the train after every ride boarded every other seat. The ticket allows you in for 90 minutes which is more than enough time. As most kids were getting tired after an hour.
What a horrible experience. It was $28 for my 2.5 year old to get in. There were a few bouncy castles and that’s about it. They have huge speakers blasting music! Several parents including myself were complaining. The staff weren’t able to lower it. Not only could we not hear ourselves, the sound level is incredibly dangerous for small children!!! The snacks they were selling were donuts, cookies, and pizza. I had to get my son an apple, which they were only selling as animal feed, just so he’d have a healthy snack! Face painting is extra, if that’s even possible, on top of a $28 ticket price!!! Just moved to Reston and will not be returning to this place.
Great for the whole family! Love this place, love the ambiance, love the staff! Great place to buy fresh made apple cider donuts and cookies and a bunch of family made foods like pot pies, jams, pickled veggies, etc. Animal pen with chickens, little pot belly pigs, and goats for the kids to see, even toys to buy! Oh, and of course there is the garden center and supplies (you could almost forget from everything else they have to offer). Staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home, like youre talking to your family on the farm. Found this place by accident one day and went back with my family - they love it!
If you like gardening/growing of any type, you really should visit this store. Prices may be a little higher, but the selection and quality is better and they have gardening/growing supplies you will not find elesewhere, plus local produce.
The Reston Farmers is a great place to get your perennials, veggies, potting soil, and old school pop when you “NEED” it during the week. They also offer planting seeds and have a nice selection of children’s toys. I love purchasing tomatoes, corn, and any one of the Joe’s Truck Lemonades. Love coming here where the staff is so knowledgeable and nice to my little ones.
My family attended their Fall Festival yesterday. We appreciated entry was fo 90-minute periods, but, overall, it was a disappointment and over priced. With Farm in their name we expected a much larger space, rather it is a nursury. The festival was 4 bounce houses and slides in a cramped area. In COVID times, cramped areas are not ideal. There was face painting and balloon animals, but it was disorganized so we waited for 30+ minutes out of 90 for this. Some parents were still there from the last session waiting to get this done. There was no space fo a line, so parents were confused and kept yelling at us about where is the end of the line. By having face painting, no kid will wear a mask after that. I did appreciate the feed for the animals was real food, but the part of an apple we were given does not cost that much.
I love the atmosphere of this place! You can find a great selection of plants here and it’s so beautiful and well organized. It’s a family owned business and they are lovely people.I love seeing all the little piglets!
Home town tradition and love the animals. Friendly staff and high prices.
I expected more produce and food after looking at their website, but this is a cute place for fruit and veggies, garden supply stuff, and smiling at a few chickens, pigs, and goats.
I found this place amazingly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They are polite. There grounds are clean and not congested. My grandson like the animal and waterfall areas. These areas are well constructed, pleasing to the eye and without odors.
The best flowers I have ever bought. The staff is very knowledgeable about their products and how to take care of them. They helped me select the perfect plant for my balcony, as well as the best products to tale care of it. I usually have a black thumb but its been 2 weeks and my geraniums are absolutely gorgeous! I cant wait to go back and make my balcony look like a lush flower paradise!
The “fall festival” is a scam . 28 dollars for kids and 6 for adults with a 90 minute window, more than half the time you’ll be standing in line to pay for extra “activities”. No food truck as advertised or any food at all !! except donuts 🙄, pet food to purchase the animals wouldn’t even eat ! Just loud music and tiny bounce houses. 120 dollars down the drain . Don’t take your family here
Employee with a gun completely unnecessary. If this area is dangerous enough that your employees need to be armed I don’t want my children there.
Wonderful people. Super plants. Well cared for. Outstanding staff. Great pies too.
Even in the cold winter when its almost February and holidays are over you can still get warm here. Picked up a chicken pot pie for a quick dinner and it was delicious. The apple doughnuts are to die for. So good. And I finally tried the Lake Anne FROG jelly funny name for some good jelly. The owners and staff are just nice, and thats the important thing. I will be back.
We love stopping by to visit the farm animals here! They also have a great market and we can always find a nice treat to bring home and enjoy.
We loved it! The selection, the animals for our grandchildren and the cleanliness. We will be back.
I love the apple cider donuts, fresh out the oven. OMG
Not worth the money paid for a parking lot full of moon bounces. Train ride in circles on a Park lot. No pony was there to ride. Just not satisfied for a group of 3 and 4 year olds.
Great selection and super helpful staff.
I would drive an hour out of the way to go here just b/c how friendly and helpful the staff are. Danielle in particular is so knowledgeable/helpful -- love this place!
I have been working here for a week and some change, everyone here is understanding and hard working. They care a lot about the plants and constantly check up on them. The market is amazing itself. And if you were looking around we have tomatoes now! Along with egg plant, peaches, apples and more! The honey is also local and tastes AMAZING in any tea you have. And the Jams are also addicting. Come by and visit!
Great variety of pumpkins, flowers, and country store goods. You have to try their apple cider donuts, so good! They have some fresh produce as well. You can pay for a ticket during the fall for their fall festival which has a bunch of inflatables, a petting zoo, food, and a train. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The team is very nice there and I love the animal farm. Great selection of plants but some of the branded items are very expensive. For example, I purchased maple syrup ($8.99) recently and came to find out it was not pure maple syrup. While I know it is my responsibility to look at the label before purchasing, I was just shocked they would sell that kind of product to begin with at the price of the real stuff.
When covid-19 shut so many places down, I was so relieved to learn that the lovely people at Reston Farm Garden Market set up a system where I could order online or call in an order and have my husband drive over to pick up the order - they put it in the car for him for a no-contact option! And not only could I get the produce I wanted, but also sausage and apple cider donuts and pie and little potted herbs for my garden! Oh, and when I wanted to know what kind of native plants they had in stock, they responded right away with photos of the plant tags so I could choose. All of the products they put in our orders have been wonderful and Im so glad they are here for us in the community!
Lots of plants and beautiful assortment of planting pots!
Great selection of flowers/plants. Employees seemed helpful but every employee I saw was not wearing a mask outside or inside the store. There was a sign asking customers to wear a mask. Unfortunately, I wasnt able to purchase and wont be back.
This place is awesome! The apple cider is delicious. The donuts are to die for! An absolute must!
Nice variety of local foods!
I have been shopping at Reston Farm Market for many years now. Prices on plants are going up just as they are everywhere else. The market has a very nice variety of plants. They also have a store which carries lots of unique foods such as Lake Anne Frog Jam. (Read the ingredients to see what is actually in it. No frogs!) Fresh produce is also available inside the store. The staff at this market are very hard-working and eager to help. There is a very nice variety of beautiful plants outside. I enjoy shopping at this market even when I just plan to walk around and look for something new. I always end up buying something. This time it was a beautiful big tomato and some jam. If I had a yard I would most definitely buy a plant or two.
Reston Farm Market is the best ever!! The owners are such a wonderful couple!! Bonita and Lowell make every trip there so worth it. I have many other farmers markets around me but the drive to Reston is so worth it! I don’t go anywhere else. Plus an added joy is at Halloween they have so much for the kids to do! My kids always as me to go back!! If you haven’t been....it’s definitely a must!! The Fall Fest is THE BEST!!!!
Those doughnuts... Oh man, dont do it! You will change your morning routine every morning to incorporate a stop off to pick some up.
Great selection and helpful staff!
Friendly and informative response about a question I had regarding native plants over FB. I went in to pick the plants up and everyone was helpful and kind. We also picked up a cherry pie that was still warm as a birthday treat. Excited to go back!
My family and I drove over a hour and a half to visit Reston Farm Market for the experience, yummy treats and the personnel that work there. Lowell, Bonita and everyone else are such wonderful people that have created a fun and one of a kind experience!! We could not recommend this market more highly. We can’t wait to see what Christmas time brings!
Bonita, Lowell, Khalil and the rest of the family MAKE the Reston Farm Market! A wonderful family run business with beautiful plants and produce, fun and fresh products and seasonal gems all year! Its a must-go to if you are in the area (or even if you have to travel a little to get there), well worth the trip!!
I am SO grateful they were open this year. My family had an absolute blast.
They have everything from fresh veggies to Bakery Items to inflatables. They have fresh flowers and toys. They have garden anf home decor! The nicest people work there! Family owned and operated.
Beautiful plants, produce, and gardening supplies for adults and kids alike. But the best surprise was seeing the goats, ducks, chickens, pigs and the cutest little piglets I have ever seen :)
If you’re looking for some fall fun with the kiddos, this is your spot! We discovered this gem a few years ago and have been several times since and our children LOVE it! From the slides to the bounce house and the cider, cookies and pumpkin all included in your admission. They even had a person making balloon animals and a face painter today. Not to mention the fall decor and produce/food inside. You can’t go wrong with a family trip to this joint!
Reston Farm Market has the friendliest professional staff I’ve experienced in a long time. They also get the idea of contactless curbside service. If you are worried about the COVID-19 virus, give them a try because they work with you to make sure the delivery of goods is totally safe. I used to go to the Farmer’s Market in Lake Anne, but now Reston Farm Market has my business!
The Reston Farm Market always makes for a fun time. There are moon bounces, train rides, a DJ and tons of other fun activities to partake in. It’s great for the family! I’m there every weekend with my family for the fall festival.
A little pricey for some things but a great place for plants and to visit some farm animals! Not sure if this is possible - but could a second food bowl in the pen maybe give the baby animals more opportunities to eat away from the larger guys? Just an idea, that was the one thing that really bugged my little guy, the poor baby pigs. 😛
This is located a few minutes walk from my house and with the new ownership, the place is now ready for everyday shopping. They have a good selection of local produce as well as flowers and soil etc... I bought their Apple Cider Juice and could not stop drinking it until it was done (So delicious). Not to forget, the owners are responding very well to the high demand of organic snacks and drinks. Highly recommended for their cleanliness and great customer service. Welcome to the neighborhood!
Guys, Khalil (hope I spelled his name correctly) is the man. I decided to take a U turn on Baron Cameron instead of Meadows Farms. I and my twin teens (13,MF) wound up talking to him about what I had in mind. He gave me advice and pointed me to the area I wanted. Blahs blah... the dude is legit guy who wants to earn your business. Hes honest. I prefer small businesss. Earned a customer for life. Try his joint out (didnt know I was talking to the owner).Update: I went back yesterday and stand by my first review. Also, theyve got some really great food in the barn/checkout. You need to try it out.
I love this place and even worked there in high school when there was a pumpkin fort amd Christmas trees were sold there.
I must admit it was not what it was back in the late 70s and 80s when it was much larger. I enjoy going down to get my fresh tomatoes and cucumbers and corn and to look to see what else they have. I do need to support the Reston Farm Market.
The plant stock was just incredible - great variety and very healthy. Im a gardener but had never seen several of the varieties before. They were so beautiful that I had to touch them to make sure they were real. And all the staff was incredibly helpful. Its my new go-to place for plants!
The produce is generally very good but it can be hit or miss at times. Still much better than what you will find in any supermarket
I expected a different type of shopping experience. This is not to say that there is a problem with the setting. The employees made me feel welcomed and appreciated my business. Now Ill eat my tomato that I purchased.
High quality everything! Very warm and welcoming feel.
Love this Place! We have known Lowell and Bonita and their crew for years, running other stands. Great people, and awesome to see them revamp the Reston Farm Market! We visited again last weekend, and our kids love all of the things to do there. Great seasonal plants and flowers, pumpkins, etc - and we are always surprised at the range of offerings they have - from fresh apple cider, to pies, to cider doughnuts, to ribs/brisket. Definitely recommend.
We came here today with my toddlers and had a blast! The fall festival included unlimited train rides, shows, music, free food, free cider, we sampled homemade pies and donuts. They had all kinds of bounce houses and slides, petting zoo. I honestly cant say enough. While there I stocked up on my fall decorations and Halloween decorations for the house too. Definitely will return!
It opens only on Saturday morning most of the Saturday morning I will be there to buy fresh tomatoes, bread, some time chicken and apples. Quality of items are good even though cost is bit high. You will get chance to talk to farmers if you are interested.
Great service, friendly help. Very educational for someone who is very new to gardening.
Advertised donuts. Did not have donuts.
We visit Reston Farm Market numerous times a year because my little ones (now five and six) have a blast every time. They have several huge inflatables, great performers, an impressive train ride, farm animals, and lots of other things entertaining for both kids and adults. We’ve actually hosted and been a guest for birthday parties there. It’s a very unique experience and the staff couldn’t be more organized and accommodating. Overall, this is a wonderful establishment…we’ll be back!
We love this market. When its active (so not during winter), there is a broad array of vendors of all kinds of foods, from fresh, local veggies to meats, eggs, and baked good. And walking towards the lake, the market turns artsy, with vendors selling all kids of arts and crafts. There will always be at least one performer, the whole place is super child friendly, and the atmosphere is great.
Had a great time this past weekend at Reston Farm Market. They had a great selection of pumpkins, gourds, and mums. Their market is amazing and we loved their apple cider, donuts, and all the organic dairy products! Best of all, the people that work there are super friendly and very helpful. I look forward to returning very soon!
Excellent customer service, great products. Wonderful experience
Beautiful place, great prices, super friendly staff.
Took my 7 year old over the weekend and he had the best time. So great, that he is still talking about it today and i just had to share. Thanks for the experience guys, we had a blast and will definitely be returning :)
Great place for the family. Tons of fall fun for the kids and the market has great fresh produce and delicious apple cider donuts!
This place is great! The kids had a blast and my wife really enjoyed the organic jams inside.
I absolutely love this place. Our family paid for the season pass and I think we have been just about every weekend. The environment is amazing, they have good food and beverages at reasonable prices and best of all my daughter cant get enough of it. There is enough happening in a given day to tired her out. The staff is always friendly, professional and courteous. The owners even walk around and engage the crowd. I would recommend this place a thousand times!
5 stars? For what? They have 4 moon bounces and parents are charged $15 as well to enter and watch their kiddos to jump. And roast in the sun without any shade. Its a Saturday afternoon and there are barely any kids on the playground. the new management it has been greed showdown.
Love coming here knowledgeable staff great selection. The Fall Fest is so much fun! We will be coming back.
It’s even better than last yeAr. I brought my grandkids this past weekend and we all enjoyed ourselves. See you all soon. I love the new items in the bakery. The pumpkins rolls are to die for.
Wonderful team! Great experience! Loved it!
My favorite Daddy - Daughter weekend hangout. We are able to go here and have a good time without me worrying about my daughter getting lost in the shuffle. She is so comfortable here I am able to just sit back and relax and allow her to have a good time. Lowell and Bonita are very friendly and on any given day you will meet members of their family which makes the experience so much more personal.
A super helpful staff and great variety of items.
We purchased all of our decorations for out fall event from here and they look amazing. The staff was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I will be going back for my personal items as well!
This is a great place to go for gardening needs and locally sourced stuff. The Fall Festival is awesome and a nice event for the family, especially little kids. They have an animal farm, moon bounces, a train ride and gave away free cider and pumpkins.
Great Christmas spirit, trees, and decorations.
Cool place. Fresh an unique.Go and enjoy.
We petted the pigs and ran from the chickens.
Loved it, friendly staff. My nephew had a blast and at the end he got a free pumpkin 😊
It is a nice place to bring friends and family together...they have bouncy houses, gardening stuff and so much more.5/5 stars bring all the kids on your block!
Great service. Extremely polite and helpful employees. Selection was pretty good on plants and local sundries. Prefer over Meadows Farm just down the street because of the exceptional customer service noted above.
Wow this place is so great! Something for everyone! My kids loved it!
I brought my family here and we all enjoyed our experience the staff was AWSOME the activities for the kids during their fall festival was pretty great I would love to come back and see what else they have in store for the future
Great place friendly and helpful staff.
Good produce from local farms with a lively crowd. Its a cheerful place to visit on a Saturday morning. Naturally, since the quality is higher the prices are a bit higher than a normal grocery store.
Cute for the area, but I guess I was just used to, and missed, the REAL farm markets and such in upstate NY!
We paid 15$ per person for a train ride for our 1.5 year old son and drinking “unlimited” amount of apple cider..The owner was so rude when we wanted to pick a few pumpkins from the bucket. He argued my wife for 5 minutes. He said they were already sold, even his crew told us that we could pick them up. They are amateur, lack of respect and hospitality. Never going back!
The place there are fantastic I djayed there this pass Saturday and Sunday the staff was very helpful and friendly if you need anything for your garden for fall or other gardening things you need to go to the Reston Farm Market you wont be disappointed!!
Friendly, well stocked, and easy to social distance! Will be back!
Well.... The Little fair they had with all of the bouncy houses was .... lack luster to say the least being that myself and a friend of mine have toddlers they were restricted in what they could participate in. It seems to be for bigger children. It was really dirty .... We were annoyed we paid 8 dollars for that.... we received complimentary bands for the next day but, we were so through we didn’t come back #NeverAgain
