My husband should honestly be a paid reviewer for Half Price books because his only addiction is looking through ALL the ones in the DFW area and he really knows which ones have quality books and which dont. I tag along and see that he knows his stuff because at this location you can usually find at least one good book in the history, military science, Asia, or rare finds sections. I mainly check the clearance and they had 2 great books he had on his Thrift books saved items and they do have interesting finds. Some of their locations arent as exciting as the Richardson store.

Love coming here found many great things they didnt have a very big anime section but still found some great finds.. affordable childrens books

I wandered into the store with some time to kill and did not expect to find a place I would want to visit again. Im still a DVD guy and their assortment was well organized and full of worthy films to own. And the books? Unreal assortment and well stocked too.

They are open now. (Yay!!!) I went in to find myself a book that i have been wanting to read. I do have the amazonian nook, but i really love having a hand held copy to read and then share. There is just something about having that real book in your hands that relaxes me. So, they have that book you want for 1/2 the retail price. The place is clean, well organized and friendly. There is a childrens section for the little readers. I know... My little reader has a book app, but there is something so cute and novel with having the book in your hand. It feels like you actually bought something instead of using internet space. So, in these pics you will see the location, their interior, the childrens nook and store hours on the front door. They also sell records for record players. I didnt wait to check out. All in all i would buy from them again. The nostalgia is real. 💞

40 hard cover books like new and they only paid $4.oo. A big rip off. I could have gotten at least .50 cents a book at a garage sale.Wont go to half price again.

Usually this half price is really good with friendly and helpful employees, but on this day that was not the case. I usually drive out to this store in Richardson instead of the one by my house in Mesquite because the service is better. On this day, the employee at the front was ride and acted like he could not be bothered with. I am so disappointed!

Excellent place for the avid reader. They have a varied selection since the majority of thier books are used. They do have a limited new section, typically current best sellers. The used books are in very good condition and prices are very good. They also have a selection of music, including vinyl. And there is a limited selection of haves as well. I highly recommend. Service is great as well. Ive been a Customer for years and plan on going back for as long as Im able to read.

I always find great bargains on books I had always wanted to read and never got around looking for those books or buying them. But browsing the physical store is so concrete and physical that when you least expect it, you find a treasure sitting there on the shelves just waiting for you... 😉

One of the newer nicer stores but... I have sold MANY books to this location and others, and recommend going to any other store. This one offers you the least, basically nothing every time.

I always find amazing books in the childrens clearance section for my class. It is also easy to sell your old books and use that money towards your next purchase.

Larger than some of the other stores in the chain. They have a good selection of everything. I do wish that theyd categorize their clearance items, though. Otherwise, its a nice place to visit and buy books, games, and other media.

A bit smaller than the half price books I usually go to. Their card system was down so checking out was very slow but the staff did their best.

Looking for books, at a cheaper price? This is where to visit. Its a really big store. Very spa ious and they have from study books to novels an. Went to get books in tbe performing arts section and was able to find what I needed on the piano. Its wherl chair accessible, has good parking, also has pickup. Loved the kids section.

Browsing online, found this location had several books I was looking to purchase. Decided to just call directly and ask to buy the books instead of purchasing them through the HPB website. Im sure Josh was probably surprised to get a call from someone in Wisconsin, but he was very helpful and communicative nonetheless. I received my books recently and they look great, cant wait to read them. Big thanks to Josh for helping me out!

The staff is super sweet. they didnt have the book I was looking for (it was probably on a schools reading list haha) but everyone there was a joy and the store was very well organized.

Very friendly and helpful staff and a nice collection of books. Note the store closed 1 hour prior to the time listed on Google so call to get the actual hours prior to going in.

Cheeper than Amazon plus I dont have to wait. Is always nice to talk to a live human in person. Thanks for staying open guys!!

We have been to this chain several times.One time to buy books, one time to play board games, and another time to sell books.We had excellent customer service during all visits.They have some great prices and some not so great. But overall definitely a number one store for any “paper” needs

Always a great quick stop with great finds and great prices!! I usually find vinyls but today i decided to stock up on books for the winter break and i found some great ones!!! Definitely one of my favorite HPB!

I had a horrible experience. Never have I been discriminated for my health handicap till I shopped here. The white cashier and manager would not let me a brown lady with health issues check out. All this discrimination from a manager who was not in compliance with the mask mandate. I am surprised that half price bookstore is ok with their employees discriminating their guests.

I went in on my lunch break to grab some puzzles for the weekend. The ladies in there were so nice! I was greeted with hand sanitizer and noticed they took safety precautions seriously. Really a great experience there.

I have been shopping/selling at HPB my entire reading aged life and have visited many locations. This Location is by far, the best. Professional staff who talk to you like a human not a $$$ or nuisance. The staff is also friendly and helpful. Always a fun place to be. Its like a surprise box every time. You never know what books you are going to find -music and movies, too! From classics to rarities, prices are competitive and the staff is always friendly and approachable.

The names says it all. Books at half price! Well, and other stuff like vinyl, collectibles, etc. If Im being honest, not every book is half off, but you cant beat this place for vintage finds. I gave this location 4 stars because its a smaller location. Their service and products at this location are great.

Can always find something and have for over 40 years. Do yourself a favor and stop by the coffee place and get a large chocolate dipped almond cookie. Absolutely delicious if you like pastries/desserts.

I took my 3 year old to story time at 10:30 today (Saturday). Only one book was read and the girl read very, very quickly (clearly trying to get it over as soon as possible). There was also no craft unlike what the website says and the sign in their children’s area (which also says Saturday morning story time has give sways and free books). This was the worst story time I’ve ever seen anywhere (my oldest is 10 1/2). Go to Barnes & Noble or the public library if you want an actual story time and people who want to get children to enjoy and love reading.

Great board game selection

Im a long time Half Price Books fan, but I Had THE BEST experience in this location the other day.Was having trouble finding a book, the nicest person (Josh) noticed I was looking a little lost & helped me find what I was looking for.He actually ended up recommending another couple books. Ive finished one so far and it was fantastic & something I never would have picked up for myself. He was also able to find a gift for my impossible to shop for roommate.If you dont know what your next read should be - ASK FOR JOSH. He is a literal book angel, so friendly, easy to talk to and approachable. Amazing customer service! Thank you!

The greatest bookstore (and more) in the metroplex. They have a huge selection of books, board games, puzzles, and even video games and more all at a great price.Not only that, they buy books for a reasonable price too!Its rare that I go to another bookstore because Half Price Books has it all. Even rare or obscure books can be found here. At some other locations they even some more sought after rarities like first prints of famous books and such.

The staff is super helpful here! Was able to order the book I needed to store for free and it was way less than on Amazon. Definitely worth the wait!

This is one of my favorite book stores they have a great selection of used books and most of them are in good condition I especially like their DVD clearance selection! I keep a list of the books that I want to read for our church book club and nonfiction, childrens books. Usually I can find the items here cheaper than ordering online. What I like if they dont have the book or the item that you are seeking they will look it up and order it for you this has been very convenient for me.

Knowledgeable employee. Well arranged store lots of Christmas card options and 2020 calendar options. Prices are fair. Well stocked. Easy to get in and out of the store quickly. Lots of parking. Was looking for a display of Christmas books and could not find one. I still managed to spend $40 lol!

Other than the main Half Price Books on Northwest Highway, this is one of my favorite stores. It has a great selection, friendly staff, plus there are good places around to eat and the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is close by. Makes for a nice afternoon or evening.

I went in to this store like I have many times before to buy books. This time I was selling the books I have collected over the past few years. I brought in a box with (about 20 to 25 books) to get the worth evaluated. I was really surprised to find out that they offered me only $1 for all the books I brought in. I understand that in business (because I have my own) that you need to keep overhead down, but this is just INSULTING. From all of the books I brought in they offered me ONE DOLLAR! I have been a loyal customer for many years. I will NOT be returning and from now on I will be buying my books from Amazon. They do not deserve my business if they are going to treat customers like that. I spent more in fuel to get there than what they offered me. Are you owned by Game Stop? Next time I need to get rid of the books I read, Ill just burn them. At least then I will receive something useful like warmth unlike like the cold finger you stuck in my posterior. Greedy butt-holes.

I have always loved Half Price Books and have purchased many many books and audiobooks there. Today was a big disappointment! I usually only get a couple of dollars for the audio books that I have paid 20 + dollars for. But today they wouldnt take either of the audio books that I had bought there a month ago!

I got some great deals here. Its a new store. Bigger than then last one. I like it. Perfect place to pick up gifts for loved ones.

This place is great for second-hand books and games. I found almost the entire Redwall series that I havent read for a very long time and look forward to diving into the series that brought my childhood to life.

What a treasure! The staff are unique and awesome with personalities and make you feel right at home. The book selection and CDs selection were both phenomenal. Prices cant be beat. The only thing overpriced was the coffee in the little cafe but I would return and wander or sit. I never want to go to Barnes & Noble again because Half Price Books is where its at.

This is one of the best Half Price books I have been in. Large! Huge selection. Easy to find and well organized. Nice lighting. Friendly, helpful staff.

Asked an employee if they had a specific author. Incorrectly spelled first name (not a hard name Melanie) then was a little flippant when she went to a different register to look it up and said this will pull it up when you dont know how to spell it. Last time we go here or purchase gift cards for our 5 grandchildren from here. Another location on Preston is JUST as close.

These people at two different stores went to the ends of the half-priced earth to help me find my needed books. Pretty awesome. Got lots of good finds, felt comfortable and the atmosphere was great. Service was so awesome and not judgemental. Buying 12 books at once seems crazy because it is, but I didnt hear a peep about it, which was not necessary but cool of the staff.
