Mr. Waybright is an EXCELLENT luthier. He was able to squeeze in 4 bow rehairs and a minor repair job for us in less than 24 hours. He is very personable and well worth the 4 hour drive for his expertise. If you need your fine instrument worked on, he is the best to do it in Texas. Highly recommend.

Rury retired, I wasn’t sure where to go. I teach but do not perform regularly. My violin was sufficient, though in desperate need of a tune up and repairs. The bridge needed to be replaced and openings needed to be glued. My bow also needed a rehair. Upon recommendation of several friends, I felt confident in bringing my violin to Waybright Violins. I told him my budget and he stayed within my target. I was thrilled when I opened my case and saw the varnish restored. When I played, It sounded better than when I had bought it, as others have noted. I am looking forward to seeing how much it opens once the new strings settle. I’m so excited about playing again and that is priceless!

Joshua Waybright is a remarkable luthier who combines many years of experience as a superior master-restorer with being an excellent violin maker. His bow rehairs are also the best in the DFW. He knows everything there is to know about the art of a string instrument; he is super honest and his pricing is the fairest on the market. I have tried several well-known luthiers after coming to Dallas in 2000. After I have found Mr. Waybright, my search was over. No wonder most of the DSO and FWSO musicians use him as well.
