The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The grounds are unique, historical and gorgeous. Very relaxing atmosphere. Perfect venue for an event you are planning. Ciders are fun and innovated. Highly recommend.

We booked a tour and it was well worth the time. The guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable on the history of the site and the cidery. She took the time to explain the process end to end and kept it interesting. The tasting was also as good as anywhere youll visit. Blue Bee is a great product on its own but even better due to the staff. The Cheese Monger also makes the best grilled cheese sandwich you can find anywhere.

We hosted a work event at Blue Bee for around 30 people and it was a huge success. They were very easy to work with and the venue fit perfectly with our goal. We will definitely be keeping them in mind for future events!

Good place for those that prefer cider over beer, wine, liquor. Located in Scotts Addition. Theres a parking lot nearby as well as other drinking spots and restaurants. Theres a GRTC Pulse stop nearby for those riding public transportation.

Cool cidery in the heart of Scott’s Addition. I had one of their flights which was a recommendation from the lady who served us. I was very pleased with the variety of flavor. Lots of good options so no matter your palate there is something you’ll likely enjoy. The atmosphere was nice. We sat outside but were in the shade and while it was a hot day, it felt rather pleasant. They had a bunch of vendors set up selling crafts and baked goods. I’d love to come back and take a tour of the operations side. If you’re into ciders, stop by and check out all they have to offer.

Kehillah rented out event space for our Rosh Hashanah event this year at Blue Bee Cider. Mackenzie, their event coordinator, was helpful, responsive, and just the best for the whole process. Let us come in the see the space early to plan, took care of all our set up needs, and the staff at the bar were great! They were helpful when guests had questions and needed recommendations. Great cider place in Richmond. Nice outdoor seating area with fires for cold nights. I’m not the biggest fan of ciders but it was fun to try the different sampling plates with friends.

Blue Bee Cider is an amazing place. Not only are the drinks unique and delicious, the staff is crazy friendly and knowledgeable. We talked with Jason for over an hour out the various processes, apples used, and best superpowers. This is such a cool place to hang, and with such cool people (and a cheesemonger?!) Im sure well be back, even with the 5 hr drive.

Excellent ambience and service at Blue Bee, as always! Their ciders are fun to try, too. Its tough to not leave with at least a few to go bottles. They have something for everyone, cider-wise, from dry and classic to sweet and cocktail-esque. Now, they also have Truckle Cheesemongers on site, too, for all of your charcuterie and cheesy needs. Their Covid precautions are top-notch-- complete with a strict mask policy when interacting with servers or moving about the cidery. I love that we can bring our dog and that the servers bring over a water bowl for him. From start to finish, Blue Bee is an inviting, classy establishment that delivers on every detail. 🙂 Cheers! 👏

Fun outside patio with a decent list of ciders to choose from. Its pretty expensive compared to the other breweries in Scotts Addition. I got the experimental and the classic flight here. It was fun trying all the different flavors they provide.

I was pretty impressed with this establishment! Very clean and well put together. Id recommend trying one of two of their cider flight options to sample them all and grab the nibbles to snack on if youre not really hungry. The grilled cheese sandwiches and very rich and satisfying, if youre hungry. Youll definitely enjoy it here with family or friends!

Great atmosphere, not to loud. Fun selection of drinks. The staff was very pleasant. The hot honey cider was very interesting and delicious, if you like spicy. I dont typically drink but I would consider coming back here.

Can not possibly say enough good things about their COVID precautions. Can I leave six stars? They’re doing amazing. The cider here is amazing. Im not a huge cider drinker because it tends to give me heartburn (from all the sugar), but the cider here was fresh, not overly sweet, and perfectly balanced. They also have a delicious frozen rosé slushy thing (frozé?) That is amazing on a hot day.The Truckle Cheesemongers who are on the premises, have an awesome assortment of cheeses, grilled cheese sandwiches and meats for charcuterie. We also had their house made pimento cheese, which is the best pimento cheese I have ever eaten.Definitely recommend stopping by!

I always love coming here when Im in town! Its cute and the cider is tasty! Its a little chilly to be outside now but they are doing a good job trying to keep it warm and its awesome they give out hand warmers!

Nice addition to the area. I had never really been into cider and stopped by because of the cuteness of the venue. The atmosphere is charming and very dog friendly. I will definitely be visiting again. We did the small batch and year round cider tastings. We ended up purchasing 2 bottles of cider, they were amazing!

Blue bee is the best event venue kept secret in Richmond- and I am on a mission to out them!I cannot say enough kind things about everyone but Mackenzie (events coordinator) in particular, is an absolute gem.She (and they) just get it- from a stress-free day of to tent and day-of set-up & vendor coordinating - to mini-crisis management - Blue Bee is kind, accommodating, and incredibly reasonable!!We were recently married at Blue Bee after COVID cancelled our wedding *twice.*We planned fast and kind of on a prayer- and Blue Bee was willing and able every step of the way!The day was better than I ever could have imagined- hugely credited to such a great group of people!There were spaces on site for the groom and I to get ready and - especially with a tent, the indoor/outdoor space was cool, comfortable and fun!We said “I do” in front of their “blue doors”Seriously- everything was perfect!Side note- we also taste tested copious amounts of cider as “wedding prep.” Deciding between the ciders was one if the hardest parts - they’re all DELICIOUS!

Came here on a whim during a birthday trip to Richmond and I couldnt be happier that I did. Maddie regaled my girlfriend and I with a colorful history of their company and facility, educated us on the history of cider and the equipment used in the cider-making processes, and knowledgably guided us on a flavorful adventure of Blue Bees finest drinks. Everyone on staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food available from Truckle Cheesemongers was absolutely fantastic. Without question, this cidery has earned a pair of loyal customers who will return as frequently as possible. Thanks so much and keep up the good work!

This is one of the coolest setups for a brewery/cidery that I have been to, I only wish the cider was better. The location gets 5 starts but the cider gets a 3, so it is a 4 overall.

Went to this Cidery on a whim and couldnt be happier or recommend it more fervently. Went as a party of 2 and got both major flights on the menu, which let us try a majority of their drinks. We watched adored atleast one drink in our flight, my personal favorite being the Aragon 1904. They are taking good precautions through COVID with regular sanitation and the space is best on a sunny day. The staff answered all our questions and stopped in regularly to check in.

Cool outdoor and indoor space. I love their ciders. They aren’t the overly sweet ciders like Angry Orchard. You can get flights, a glass, or a bottle. They offer tours which are great. Check out the schedule online. They hold great events here, too. Looking forward to their partnership with Truckle Cheese. The building is charming. It used to be horse stables.My favorite ciders are Firecracker and the Hewe’s Crab Apple.

When on the hunt for something particular; substitutes wont due! Well I happened upon this place because my mission was to locate a spot that still sells my dearly missed Woodchuck Cider. When your tastebuds request something so specific you just cant settle. My GPS led me to this intimate and appealing location with the promises of my search being over. Well to my disappointment McKenzie(SP?) graciously explained that they dont have it, but there may be something in their collection that just might satisfy me. With the sampling of their Aragon 1904 I knew that there had to be other treasures to explore. Before the moment was over Id had an equally selective companion that agreed we could peacefully lay Woodchuck to rest because the offerings of Blue Bee Cider were beyond comparable. Other preferences-Petit Manchurian & Firecracker{not to be confused with the distaste of a cinnamon fireball, but due to its ginger infusion😍}. The creative exploration of their ciders make it possible to please a wide range of tastebuds from sweet to sour. All with the serene(yet properly distanced) backrop giving nothing, but great vibes. Kudos to Carrie for the final touches with the melodic tunes of James Blake 🎶.

Cider is absolutely fantastic. However, it would be 5 stars without one issue. I attempted to sign up for the monthly cider club on site, but was told by staff and management that my request would never be processed and maybe shredded. I found this strange and was advised to sign up online instead...wasn’t impressed with that response and I certainly don’t intend to sign up for the cider club if the staff are too lazy to process my request. Again, great cider all around but unfortunate experience tonight.

I had the best time on my tour of Blue Bee Cidery! Not only did Brian take time to explain the history of the company, but he told of the history of the building itself, and the history of making Cider. My friend and I both really enjoyed learning about the world of cider and we even got to put labels on bottles! It was a really fun experience. Everyone was super friendly and the cider itself is amazing. You wont be disappointed with a tour or your tasting!

We throughly enjoyed our visit to Blue Bee Cider. The building is very unique and the staff are extremely knowledgeable about cider and the process of making cider. We knew nothing about cider before we arrived and left feeling like we had a history lesson, it was great! The cider itself is delicious! There are so many different types and we loved that Blue Bee Cider also collaborates with local breweries and wineries to create different styles of cider or new combinations of flavors. Everyone should check it out!

I concur with the majority of reviews indicating that this place is great. Objectively I can say the cider is of outstanding quality and variety as well as taste. Staff is evidently knowledgeable of their product and they are very friendly and attentive. The location is outstanding, in the center of Scotts Addition with other awesome places around. The patio is really inviting and ambiance is nice.Subjectively, I can say I felt the prices were a bit steep which I believe may be related to the quality of the ingredients and the final product, still a bit elevated.Despite of my subjective comment this a place worth visiting and you will have a nice time guaranteed. Plenty of parking on the street and nearby.

AMAZING!! This cidery is absolutely gorgeous. Great location and unbelievably fantastic cider. Were red wine drinkers and this is the first cider that has impressed us. Now were Blue Bee cider and red wine drinkers!! The mascot, Delilah is icing on the cake. Shes a happy, sweet pup who loves everyone. We cannot say enough good remarks about this place. A definite MUST VISIT if youre able.

Just beautifully crafted artisan ciders. Extremely knowledgeable staff (Thank you Maddie!) guides you through a vast range of unique ciders. They have such elegant variety and originality, and the tasting notes they provide are spot on. My only regret is that I didn’t buy more when I was there! Highly recommend if you enjoy ciders.

The building itself is adorable and has lots of character. The staff were knowledgable on their cider and very friendly. The ciders here were all delicious and very different than other ciders I had tried. They were often more dry with higher alcohol content, but full of great flavor. They have a great indoor and outdoor tap room - great in all weather. Fun and delicious place!

Blue Bee Cider is one of the several cideries in Scotts Addison. Its a small stone building with a tiny tasting room inside also selling swag. Outside are tables, water jugs, and a few lawn games. They usually have a great playlist going outside.We ordered two flights and they really have a wide range of ciders from more sweet to more sour. If you like ciders, its worth going!

Took a tour and it was wonderful. You can tell that everyone that works here is passionate about what they’re doing.The cider is fantastic, and it has a super cute atmosphere. I wish it was close to where I live because I would always have this cider in stock at home.

Love the ciders! I got the flight of 7 (they have 7 ciders) to try everything. The reason for 4 stars vs 5 stars....I really wanted a little bite with my tasting! A simple cheese plate would have made it amazing! They are moving to a new location soon...maybe they can offer something like that.

Food truck that was there was the best part. Its REALLY hot here as everything is in an open air building basically. So dont go on a really got day. The drinks tasted really good but it was just a super boring place.

Dont get too comfortable. At first vibe, my daughter and I felt welcome so we bought a couple of bottles. (We had 2 dogs with us) When it got close to closing time, the attitudes changed quickly. I posted at 5 star review 4 months ago but now I will not go back, thanks to the purple-haired girl with the mood swings. Plenty of other cideries to go to. Cant wait to check out Busky!

Visited the new location after being open for about 6 weeks. Wonderful atmosphere, location, service and cider quality. We tasted an entire flight and enjoyed almost every flavor. The outdoor and indoor patio spaces were very nice. My only complaint was we showed at a busy time and finding a pace for three to sit took a while and some chairs were a little flimsy.

There is a small tasting room that doubles as area to order drinks so be patient if you walk into a crowd. Has a friendly staff that also provides on-site tours. I am not big on ciders but enjoyed the various flavors on tap. Also has a good size seating area with outdoor space to socialize.

Love love love this place. I got a tour of their facility and then did a tasting and it was spectacular. It was so great chatting with the woman who actually makes the cider and I love that they interpret cider in a completely different way. We got to try two different ciders, one that was like a champagne with an apple-y finish and the second one was sort of like a sour beer if it was a cider (and also if it was drinkable! which most sour beers are not)

Incredible new location with plenty of indoor and outdoor options without feeling like youre going into a brewery dungeon. For those who havent tried true ciders, its not typically your sweet, alcoholic apple juice. Floral and citrus notes ranging from sour to sweet and drinks aged in various barrels for hints of oak, bourbon, vanilla, and others. Try a flight with some small batches with it, and go home with a bottle of the year round brews and a bottle of small batch.

The people who work there are always friendly and always knowledgeable. Indoor and outdoor seating is available to suit any preference. Their selection is always great. Food isnt always available nearby which makes it a little inconvenient but even so, I never leave Blue Bee unhappy.

We went for a tour and wow, what a fun experience! The building was under renovation as they prepared to move to a bigger facility, so there wasnt AC which was a bummer. But! The tour was awesome. We saw how they do everything by hand, even bottling and labeling! Our guide, unfortunately I forget his name, was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. He even let us get a little hands on since we were the only two on the tour! At the end we decided to do a flight tasting of all six ciders for $18, and I purchased a souvenir glass for $3. Normally I would make a comment that tastings should come with a tour, but it felt good supporting such a small business in this case.

Expensive! Holy cow expensive! Not a place to drop in for a quick drink or to sample their selections. They focus on a dry cider work ABVs for all their stuff above 8%, but plenty of breweries have beers at >8% and they arent $6 for 2 ounces. Maybe worth trying once but hard to see this as a regular check-in place especially with so many better/cheaper options around.

The bar staff was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and welcomeing. The tasting was well done, and the cider excellent. In short, not much more one could ask out of a craft cidery

This amazing Cidery has the most hospitable atmosphere, the nicest staff and amazing cider I have ever been to. This is a place I will suggest to friends for the rest of my life, if you are a beer or wine lover, this place will appeal to all taste buds. I give them a huge recommendation and I will be a return visitor and a return buyer whenever I see their bottle anywhere!

Very knowledgeable bartender. He knew everything there was to know about cider and led us in the right direction. The atmosphere is okay but honestly thats not what I come here for The Cider is tremendous. Definitely recommend the dry hopped cider. I normally dont like IPAs and other hoppy beers but this is very suddle and delicious.
