Had a great experience with this shop to repair my 2005 boat. They told me it would be a few weeks, which I expected but called me the next week with an estimate. Came in under budget, very honest and documented hours worked on the boat. Went above and beyond repaired a few other things I hadnt noticed and the boat runs better than new. Cannot say enough about their service here.

This is First Class Operation from start to finish. Very service oriented rather than sales.We met numerous boat dealers at the Richmond Boat show and Wayne, the owner was so great to deal with.After the sale, he scheduled an on the water training where he spent almost 2 hours showing us how to use and care for the boat along with great safety tips we could not have found anywhere else.The fact that is was 42 degrees that days says a LOT about Wayne and his operation.He has followed up 2 times since we took delivery to ask us how it was going and if we needed anything. They are the absolute nicest folks over there.I highly recommend paying Wayne and Nautical Marine a visit when looking to purchase a boat.

I thought they gave me a new boat! Our 2002 pontoon had seen better years, the seats were mildewed, the mice or squirrels had eaten a hole in my cushion, and the motor had a skip. I had low expectations for what could be done for my old boat. When the boat was returned to me (ahead of schedule), I felt I had received a brand new boat! The mildew was gone, the aluminum was shiny, things had been replaced that could not be fixed, the motor maintenance had it purring down the lake. I am so excited about my new boat! Its a dream and now I can have more years on the water without a new boat payment! But I will definitely be back to Nautical Marine when Im ready to replace her with a newer model. Thanks guys! Nautical Marine has provided some of the best customer service I have ever received. I want to share my story, it is the least I can do.My relationship with Nautical Marine began at the Richmond Boat show. They had a good price for a very nice Chaparral. We decided to go with it after we bumped into a previous customer of Nautical Marine who had bought a similar model the year prior, gave a very solid referral for the seller and the product.We just built a new dock at Smith Mountain Lake, where we had planned on taking our new boat. It was about a month between putting our deposit down and the pick-up of our boat. We met Mike at Nautical Marine on a Thursday morning. He took my wife and I to Dutch Gap and spent about three hours patiently reviewing every facet of our new boat with us. He was excellent, an extremely knowledgeable and effective teacher. We were ready to take our boat to Smith Mountain Lake.Unfortunately the boat had trouble starting up when we were trailering it, and Mike and his team felt it necessary to hold onto the boat to make it perfect. They told us that they understood our disappointment in heading to Smith Mountain Lake for the weekend empty-handed, and told us that they would deliver the boat to us at Smith Mountain Lake, 3 hours away, as soon as it was fixed.Sure enough on Saturday early afternoon Mike met us at Smith Mountain Lake State Park with our patched-up Chaparral. He had us put the boat in at the ramp there to help us learn that process. He then accompanied me on the journey from the ramp to my house’s dock on my new boat.The temperature had dropped and the light drizzle changed to snow. The snow was falling pretty heavily, it was cold, and pretty nasty overall, and Mike never once seemed anything but excited about the boat and the potential for fun that it had. Mike helped get the boat into the lift at the new dock, helping teach us that process. He then showed us how to prepare it for freezing nights and put on the cover. It was really appreciated. As a new boat owner to have such an incredibly thorough introduction was an invaluable experience, and I thank Mike for his time and patience.I am amazed by the customer service demonstrated by Mike and the team at Nautical Marine. They know how to get customers for life. I could not recommend them more highly.Thank you

I just purchased a Chaparral from Nautical Marine. Bruce Simmons was my sales rep and the whole experience was outstanding. Bruce came in on his day off to personally show me the boat I had seen online. He was very knowledgable and answered all questions. The sales process was a breeze! A few days later Bruce and I took the boat out on the water before signing the paperwork. When I arrived at Nautical Marine, the boat was already hooked up to one of their trucks and ready to roll. We cruised around for about 30 mins while Bruce thoroughly explained all features of the boat. He made sure I had a full understanding of everything. We then took the boat back and signed all the paperwork, again, quick and easy. Nautical Marine is now cleaning and winterizing and Ill be picking it up tomorrow. If youre interested in a boat purchase, I highly recommend Bruce and his team at Nautical Marine. A+

We bought a boat from this dealership way back in 2007. It was a 3 yr old Chaparral model with very low hours. THe salesman was extremely helpful, as this was our first boating experience and we were very inexperienced with boating in general. Since then, I have had to go back to them once for some emergency service, as I am able to do most of the routine maintenance and winterizing myself. Every time I have called them, they go above and beyond to try to help me or give me the info I need, and not once have they tried to get me to bring my boat in unnecessarily. the Parts (and Service) mgr has been very unbelievably open with answering technical questions for me. I would HIGHLY recommend these guys, from Sales through Service. Keep it up Wayne!!
Purchased a boat for around 30k and will never make the mistake of stepping foot in this dealership again. After purchasing the boat in April 2013, we tried to sell the boat back to them in October 2013, all to be offered about $10,000 less than what we paid. We love boats and will own more in the future, and we will never be purchasing from Nautical Marine, again due to this dealership making us feel under appreciated as customers and making my wife and I feel as if we did not get treated properly.

Great service and friendly counter guy for parts
This was the worst boat buying dealership experience my family has been through. We purchased a Chaparral cuddy cabin boat for almost $30,000 from them in 2013. Since buying the boat, weve tried to sell the boat back to the dealership just months later only to be offered 19k. Since we did not want to take a loss of almost $10,000 on the boat just 6 months after purchasing FROM THEM, we declined their offer. With us still trying to sell the boat a year later due to family expansion, we tried to give this dealership a couple opportunities to make us an offer, again. The dealership did not return my phone calls, and finally my husband got through to them. Despite their website stating they Buy late model used boats, the dealership would not buy our boat back. After speaking with Wayne on the phone today, I felt as though I was treated extremely unfairly and felt like I was placed in an uncomfortable situation with this employee.
I took my boat in for minor service when the technician discovered that I had a serious engine problem, after a few diagnostic tests it was determined that the exhaust valve in the #1 cylinder was defective and that there was no compression on the cylinder. I could just remember feeling almost sick to my stomach as the boat only has 56 hours on the motor. What happened next is what you really need to know about as a perspective customer. The service manager went to bat for me, keep in mind that my boat was no longer under warranty and all he was really obligated to do was right the order and collect the money. He instead went to the owner and together they fought for me to no avail with Mercruiser; Nautical Marine wound up covering the cost of the repairs as they could see that the damage was not due to abuse or neglect on my part. I was so surprised when they said no charge for the repair. I know where I will be getting my next boat. Many thanks to the Staff at Nautical Marine

We bought a used Mastercraft Prostar 197 from Wayne August of 2014, sight unseen. We picked it up in Nashville and towed it acrross route 66 to the desert in California. In the spring we towed it north to the west coast of Canada. About 4,000 miles. It was shrunk wrapped so nicely we did not see it for 9 months. When we opened it, it was fabulous. Perfect condition. Although, at first it ran a little rough. The local dealer was too busy to help so I called Wayne. He got Greg on the phone and diagnosed the issue correctly. We got a few ignition parts and we were underway. Happy customer, great service, great boat. If I need another boat and some more good southern barbeque, I would galdly come back.Mark Boyle
