I recently did a search for general contractors in the Richmond, Virginia area and found The Finishing Company. Fantastic job. I had a wide one member crown molding installed in 6 rooms (only 1 was square) and this company arrived on time as promised, worked efficiently, and had the job done in 4 1/2 hours at an extremely reasonable price. Having installed molding in a previous home myself I would never bother doing it myself again when this job was well done, over with painlessly and quickly and the price made it such that anyone would be nuts to tackle a normally difficult job themselves. Let this guy do it instead ! I am extremely pleased and I love the way it looks.

Me and my husband were searching for a carpenter in the Chesterfield/Midlothian Virginia area to install wainscoting in our nursery. We stumbled upon the Finishing Company and liked the pictures of finish carpentry on their website. I emailed Brian to arrange a free estimate and he got back to me quickly. After a visit to our home he provided a quote for a custom shaker type wainscoting and a one piece crown molding.The carpenters Brian and David showed up to the job on time and they cut all wood for the molding and other materials outside and cleaned up at the end of the day. I hired Brian to install crown moulding in all rooms of a 6 year old, 4 bedroom, 2500 square foot home in Charter Colony, Midlothian, VA. In addition, I also hired him to install moulding around a custom recessed home theater projector screen, and faux shadow box in the formal dining room. The installation took Brian only a couple days for the entire project.The end result was beyond my expectations! Not only did it take less time that I expected, but I was thoroughly impressed with the finished project! I experienced excellent communication with Brian during the entire process, and he even followed up afterwards to be sure I was still satisfied even long after he completed the project. He was punctual, kept the home clean during the project, and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. He is extremely knowledgable about his line of work, and was fully equipped with all the professional equipment needed to perform his work. I have had other contractors in the home for other projects since he completed his work, and they have all quickly noticed his work without pointing it out, and all of them have said they have never that high level of quality of work with anyone, and even asked for his contact information.I would highly recommend Brian to anyone looking to add any kind of trim work to their home. It has been almost a year since he completed the project, and I have not had any issues with his work (and I cant say that about other work that has been done inside our home).
