We have definitely had an adventure with Clayton Homes in Richmond, Ky. We have been lied to, told we were overreactive by Jenny the sales rep that helped us with our home. We have had nothing but a horrible experience and until I filed a claim with corporate and called them almost every day nothing was done.To start, this is our first home. We werent told about paying for septic permits, water meter etc. Okay we covered that $900 dollar cost. After signing papers and all of those small issues the real problems began. We told Jenny we needed to move in August 1st, we were assured this was no problem as it was early June when we started this process, it would only take 3-6 weeks to drop and finish the house. It is now September and the HOUSE IS STILL NOT DONE. The pictures show what has been done to the house after the contractor was just here 3 days ago and some are previous, but still not fixed. But when I called the repair list I sent was almost completed? Really?They dropped our house off 2 days after what they were supposed to, they lost the siding and had to order new so we had and still have tore up trim and water damage to our side door because of this. We have trim that still hasnt been put on that should have come with the house but they have to order it which will take weeks?Not only that but they never know who, when or what their contractors are doing. Lucikly we have cameras inside and outside our house until they are done with it, and we caught one of their hired contractors going around our property petting our horses, and other animals. When we called the office [huge liability for this lady and she did NOT have permission] they acted like it was nothing and she didnt mean anything by it.All but 1 of our faucets leaked for 2 weeks before they changed them and they didnt even match what was in the house so now we have to wait on more. Getting in contact with anyone was a huge process until we filed a claim with corporate. We just want our house finished the right way at this point so we never have to see or talk to these people again. We are tired, stressed, and just done with this whole horrible process. The only person who has truly helped has been the one contractor Chris who personally called me and offered to come and help and walk through our house with any concerns. They went through a managment change and only a few things have been done to fix any issues but that wasnt until corporate was called. We will see what becomes of our next appointment to fix the house.

We had a wonderful experience with Clayton Mobile Homes in Richmond. We toured some Homes in February and by May we were living in the home we chose. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. They made the whole process clear and worry free. We would recommend them highly for anyone looking to purchase a home.

I would encourage anyone to go to Clayton homes in Richmond. They have a great variety of homes to choose from. The sales rept Jenny is amazing she is very professional with such a great positive personality you automatically feel 100% secure knowing you are at the right place to buy your home. Jenny kept us informed from start to finish. We closed on our home 4/21/2021 and it was by far the best experience of our life. Thank you clayton homes and Jenny for going above and beyond with 5 star quality service.

This place has a wide selection of homes to choose from with low prices. From what I understand, they even can tack on an additional price (Around 20K) to have all utilities hooked up for you after you choose your home. This is convenient but I think its over priced, not the option for me. The homes were all nice, simply made, basic appliances, nothing fancy or extra. I personally was not interested in any of the homes due to the odd pricing and the homes werent original- nothing to call home to me. But to others they might be home.

Was serious about making an immediate cash purchase, but was handed a key and told to go look. There were very few new homes set up, even though there were several on the lot....contrary to what the website was showing. There were no labels as to what we were even looking at within each home so we had to remember the color and layout and try to compare with the website to figure out if we were even within our price range, etc. We were actually overlooked by several staff members for a good amount of time when we initially arrived. Hannah still came through and was extremely helpful, but the other staff members seemed bothered.

Really, you want me to contact you about my concerns? I have been lied to since I bought my house. First from Jenny then Janet. For example I was told 6 weeks ago I would be called back in a few minutes, that person has yet to call me back. No worry though, I have in writing the work you all were suppose to do and have put me off for 3 years and now you are telling me to go through my warranty. Not going to happen. You all should have took care of instead of always having an excuse, which is my stupidity for believing in you all..I have seen where people have had to contact corporate office.

I went to clayton in Richmond ky and bought a home it was brought out and set up in September 2019 . when it was moved the drywall was busted lose in several places and a light glove was busted in side. On the out side the siding was separated and running up and down I was told they would be back I I went and picked my glob up no one came back to fix any thing I was told to leave I good review back then they would be back soon as weather permits but we had a nice summer and no one came back so thats my experience with them so make shure every thing is complete before you sign any paperwork

They acted like they didnt even care about us we had cash money but didnt tell them that they really didnt want to talk to us they did allow us to shop freely but when it came to talk to them about price they wanted to shuffle me into a room and tell me theres no way they can give me an exact cost on anything

I bought my Clayton home in May of 2017. It was a process then as I had talked to someone named Joe. He had ordered my home and promised to get me financing. I put 40k down. Well Joe was transferred less than a week later and we were told that our dream home would not be a reality anymore. They then gave us the keys to another home. Thinking this was our only option we took it. They then told us the day we signed the papers that the plot of land we had bought for over 15k would not be viable as it was before and moved us into a lot in a trailer park. About 2 months went by and we found out that our particular trailer was broken into on the lot and they would have never told us if we hadn’t had the back door come open 3-4 times a night if it wasn’t bolted. Then the refrigerator went out. Had to get that repaired. Then an improper fitting blew on our water heater and flooded the home. Their repair man came out and neglected to dry the home. It took them 6 months and eventually a call to corporate to come out and do the warranty work on the home. I would highly NOT recommend going to Clayton homes for your home. They are super interested in you until you sign the paperwork and give them your money and then you are cast to the side like a piece of trash if something goes wrong. Currently we are trying and have been trying to order parts to fix up our mobile home for over 3 months. We just keep being told “it’s a long process”. Well 3 months to contact the factory to send out parts is entirely ridiculous and you’d think they’d at least call you with updates? No. Not a single phone call. I can never even reach Janet by phone because she is always out of the office. And not once has she contacted me. And apparently she is also the ONLY one who can order parts in the office. This place is shoddy and scarily undependable. DONT GO TO CLAYTON HOMES.Edit. Right after posting this review I received my first phone call from them in MONTHS. To discuss this review. Not even to get my parts ordered. 😂

So Clayton was the first place I actually wanted to go In search of our forever home and I have to say I will never recommend someone going here. When we got to Clayton homes there was no body there at all and only one guy working but he was more interested in the Kentucky game then helping us. He handed us the keys told us just to go and look at the homes that the prices was on the fridge. First off if I wanted to make a sell Im not just going to send my customers off just to look at a home by their self not to mention they dont watch the people and what their actually doing to the homes. A lot of the homes we couldnt even get into do to them not having any steps to them. 99 percent of the homes wasnt even completely put together or even decorated to look presentable. One home we even went in someone had crapped in the toilet. Also I want someone with me telling me about the homes and showing me whats in our budget we had set to spend. So half the time we was going into houses that was not in our budget and wasting our time. When we found a home we actually liked we went back in to talk to the guy and he was beyond rude and had no idea what he was talking about and tried to make us look stupid. When we actually told other sells men about our experience there they talked about how that was not right and they couldnt understand how someone couldnt answer simple questions like we had asked cause they answered them with no problem. If clayton plans to stay there I highly recommend you get your stuff together cause that is not how you treat people.

Where to begin after one year central air is shot! Called they told us we didn’t purchase extended warranty (which no one told us about).Some pipes weren’t even screwed in our shower had a inch of water behind our master bed room wall.Faulty electricity work,Kitchen floor has sagged already. Once you sign papers good luck asking for anything repair man said it’s only him and 2 other guys covering all trailers.Light fixtures shot dishwasher holding on by a lick and a promise.Good Luck

Communication and organization very poor. I still have septic line leak that was never taken care of. Ive been in my place just over a year and everything has been a struggle.

Great customer service before sale because they want your money. But beware, after everything is finalized you will be forgotten and lied to. We are still waiting for our siding and other things over a month later. We just keep getting excuses and told someone will show up, but they never do.

Staff is super friendly and helpful. It would be nice to see more of a selection of homes since viewing on the website is not helpful.

Extremely friendly staff its was nice to walk around alone with the key to open everything up on my own but more details in each home is needed to answer basic questions to keep that up and its difficult to tell which homes are set up to look at.

Do not buy!! Construction workers are a very big joke never finish what they start
