I am 100% disabled and homebound. I was looking for a Tobacco Store that would work with me on the type of Pipe Tobacco blend I would enjoy and every other store I contacted either did not mail tobacco to you or were rude over the phone and wanted to end the phone call ASAP, but when I called Milan Tobacconist their staff was very helpful in finding out what type of Pipe tobacco I was interested in and flavors I liked and made very good suggestions to me on the type of blend to get and it only took 3 different blends before we found the perfect blend I enjoy which is their personal blend of Buttered Rum. They mail the Pipe tobacco to me and it always arrives the very next business day. I highly recommend Milan Tobacconist to everyone who enjoys Cigar and Pipe Smoking.This is a Family owned business that create and make most of their tobacco blends.I rate this store at a 5 plus stars and I have recommended Milan Tobacconist to all my friends who still smoke Pipes and Cigars.

What a lovely place! They have good prices on all cigars. Less than you will pay at Tobacco Hut, and much more classy. Being about to chill and have a smoke on site is great. Ive never been in the private club, but considering it for the winter season! The owners are lovely people and very knowledgeable.

The customer service at Milan Tobacconists is unmatched. Personal, sweet, helpful. Grew up smoking cheap cigars and not being the most knowledgeable about handmade cigars. Their staff is able to meet you in the middle and not overwhelming you with condescending cigar shop bs. Id suggest anyone in the area check them out. I stopped buying online just for the personal experience you get from Milan. 11/10. Im a tough customer and I cant sing enough praises for these wonderful folks. I was grossly mistreated by a massive retailer Id rather not name. I told the folks at Milan what I had experienced and they invited me down to have a smoke. I told her what my favorite cigar was and she got me lined up with the perfect smoke. They also told me they run weekly specials in the store on Mondays. So if you want to try a new cigar, theyre out on the table in the middle. Its not often that you find a place youre actually happy to give them your money. Best shop around without a doubt.

I smoke a pipe and it is not easy to find actual pipe tobacco. Aromatic, blended, whether house blended or not....weighed out by the ounce from a glass jar. These days usually found in only one store in a large metropolitan area and only a small selection of maybe 20 blends to choose from. Here they blend their own selections and have well over 20. I would have loved to been able to smell each and every one, but they are all behind the bar. Now I am sure they would have taken the time to allow me to do that, but I really didnt have the time to sit down at the bar to enjoy that experience. 😀🤔😒😉I did however get 3 different blends..., Butter Berry, Sportsman and their Christmas Blend 3 ounces for under $14. Thank you

Found these folks through a Google search looking for singles of a specific cigar. Had exactly what I wanted plus a few others I’ve been wanting to try. Placed an online order on Saturday afternoon and was in my mailbox on Monday. Can’t beat that kind of service! I didn’t even know USPS operated Saturday and Sunday :)I will be back online for more and will visit the store next time I’m coming through Roanoke!

Its been a while since I was in a tobacco store. Not many prices listed so you need help finding what you may be looking for. Was just in to see how it felt. Not sure if I will return or not.

Visited this wonderful establishment today and as a newcomer to pipe tobacco it was like being a kid in a candy store! Wonderful selection of pipes, lighters, stands, etc., but the best part was the very courteous staff. A gentleman gave great suggestions as to a couple of tobaccos to try and he was dead on as to their great flavors. Definitely a wonderful shop to visit and a very welcoming atmosphere, Thanks again.

This isnt a review of the location so much as the experience I had online ordering one of their custom blends. The website was wonderfully simple to navigate, with a very large selection of tobbacos, cigars pipes and pipe accessories. The Cherry bon bon blend that I ordered (1/2 pound quantity) was very well priced and absolutely wonderful to smoke. I plan on ordering a couple pipes from their selection soon, and truly hope I have a reason to come to the area just so I can come to this location to get the full experience of this wonderful shop.

Showed up at 6:04 I know they close at 6:00 but the employees had a half a stick left, I drove 30 min to buy a box and spend a min of 200.00 and they looked at me out the door and wouldn’t even let me plead my case..btw I’m not petty this is my first ever poor review! I won’t be back and will continue to shop in lynchburg!!Update* I appreciate your response, I will say that there was a younger light haired guy behind your counter, and unfortunately he did ignore me. Also I tried to call while standing at the door at 6:05 and the phone call wasn’t answered. Walk-in humidor with great cigars at fair prices. The staff are A+!! Just a very relaxing and pleasant place to spend time if youre into the cigar smoking hobby. Theres typically a decent crowd with good conversation. Theyre fairly active on social media and remember you once youve stopped by a few times, which I actually like- definitely an extended family and friends vibe. I dont get to go as often as Id like but I always enjoy myself when I do.

I found this treasure trove on a whim as I was visiting Roanoke with my wife. I have to say that the staff is kind, courteous, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I didn’t get their names, but the lady who helped me knew her cigars. Since coming home, I’ve decided to make some cigar purchases online. If you haven’t been to this establishment before, it is a place that should not be missed! Oh yeah, you can sit in the shop and smoke a stick, too.

Great place. Owner was magnificent with information on cigars and pipes. Splendid conversation over smoking practices like smoking prep.... The pre-smoke things one does such as sniffing the cigar to take in the aroma of different tobaccos and strengths. Really enjoyed my visit and hope to return in the future to enjoy a smoke on premises.

I walked in never having really smoked on a cigar and the woman running the shop was awesome. She answered all of my questions, never rushed me and suggested several cigars that I left with to try out. Im new to cigar smoking so even if I decide its not for me I would still and always recommend Milan Tobacconist!

This is by far the best tobacconist Ive ever personally been to. Its a very classy style environment with an absolutely amazing selection of cigars, humidors, pipe tobacco, pipes, and much more. The humidor is absolutely astounding in the aspects of how many cigars there are, and how large the room is. The staff seems very knowledgeable about all products they sell and are happy to help. Of course, as with any tobacconist, you will notice them lingering about you whilst you are in the humidor or our of their general point of view. However, its completely understandable due to the nature of some people. They offer free coffee, matches, and even allow you to use a variety of different cigar cutters and lighters if you decide to light up as soon as you buy your cigar. They are conveniently located in downtown Roanoke, so dont worry about going hours out of your way to find a good smoke! Five stars have definitely been earned.

Every time I go in I have a great experience. If I cant find what I want the employees are always willing to jump in and help me find it. If they dont have what I am looking for they are always willing to help me find a comparable substitute. Every cigar I have ever bought has been very fresh, you can tell it hasnt been sitting there for too long. They also have a good assortment of pipe tobacco, which if you usually dont smoke pipes they will help you find a tobacco to your liking. Overall great place.

Probably in the top three tobacconists Ive ever been to. Im mostly a cigar smoker, but I know they smell pipe tobacco as well. The stores staff is welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. The selection of cigars is very impressive, especially their selection of $10+ sticks. There is room to sit and relax in the store if you want to smoke there as well.

Ive been to the store once, but purchase from their site several times a month for pipe tobacco. Their selection of aromatic tobaccos is outstanding. The descriptions are pretty close to the taste youll discover.Ive never had a problem with billing or shipping in many years of being a customer. This is a class act shop.

Great ppl, great selection, Im a pipe smoker and they have about anything I need, or can get it. I recently had a crack in a pipe that I love. They had it fixed and even polished the mouthpiece. Amazing work, also I couldnt get up there before close so they even shipped it to me! This isnt your average cigarette pack store, this is one of the few remaining tobacconist shops around. Great place! Would recommend to any tobacco enthusiast.

I have received excellent customer service from the staff at Milan Tobacconists. I ordered the wrong item from their website, due to my own error. I emailed them to let them know of my mistake, and I received a prompt reply letting me know that they would be happy to exchange it for the correct item. They gave me return instructions, and even took the replacement item out of their inventory so that it didnt get sold before the return was complete. I sent them the return item, which took longer to deliver than originally expected due to Post Office delays, and they actually sent out the replacement item BEFORE they received the return item. You just dont receive this kind of personalized service from a corporate retailer. This is the true value of doing business with a family-owned and operated business. They have earned a loyal new customer.

I had no knowledge of cigars except for the fact that I liked them. I was referred to Milan by a brother Firefighter / Paramedic. I called and spoke with David, the cigar guru. He was very patient and helpful in deciding what I may enjoy. David helped me pick out a variety of choices that he thought I was after. He was very knowledgeable.The selection was overwhelming and his suggestions were spot on! I learned so much in a short amount of time.Hats off to you David.I would refer a friend to this shop and will certainly return.

Went there today to get my grandfather a pipe for his 80th birthday. I dont know much about pipes, the guy there was very helpful though and helped me pick out one that I think my grandfather is really going to enjoy, along with a few oz. of pipe tobacco. I would highly recommend this shop for your tobacco needs.

I was very pleased with the welcoming atmosphere and extensive selection of pipe tobacco blends. The employees are very knowledgeable and have always been able to help with whatever needs or questions I had.

Very high class facility with reasonable pricing. The employees are friendly and helpful. The inherent issue of tight parking in downtown is a mild annoyance but its obviously not their fault, just be aware you may want to bring a smaller car so its easier to navigate the tight spaces.Edit: I reviewed Milan Tobbaconists 4 years ago, and I just recieved another package of their in-house aromatic pipe tobacco after realizing i could have it shipped directly to me instead of driving across the state. They do a great job flavoring and blending their pipe tobacco, and it is wonderful. The Honey Smoke is my favorite, followed by the Buttered Rum. Highly reccomend!

Pipe smoker reviewUpon my visit the staff was extremely helpful. We discussed different pipes and tobacco blends for about an hour.Respectable selection of tinned tobacco as well as bulk blend.Good selection of briars ( Peterson, Savenelli, Nording etc.) as well as meershams and corn cobs. They even have a selection of custom painted corn cobs.Im not a huge fan of cigars but they appeared to have an extensive selection. I even picked up a CAO cigarillo while I was there.As a pipe smoker I highly recommend Milan if you are in the market for a new pipe or a nice blend of tobacco. I was told they will even ship to patrons who dont live in the immediate area.
